Sweet Fellowship: Duggars and Friends (aka the Bates Family and Other Featured Families Thread)

Message added by Scarlett45

If a person/family was never featured on any of the Duggar shows, and is not related to the Duggar family by blood or marriage, they do not need to be discussed here..

We may all agree that David Rodriques is quite unfortunate looking, but let's refrain from comparing human beings to apes, its got way too much of a loaded history- please review the new Inclusion Policy updated May 1, 2022 , which details guidelines around discussing body type, capabilities, physical appearance etc. Additionally, using body size as an insult is not allowed.

Stays silent.   When you've grown up in that household and seen the consequences, while also being pitted against your siblings, you look out for yourself.   Your boundary is protecting yourself from her wrath.   He knows what would happen if he even mentioned to his siblings, anything about experiencing even a tiny slice of freedom.    He doesn't want to experience with that.

This is the interesting part - so now does Timmy somehow gently start to tell his siblings that the larger world is not like the one they grew up in?  Or is he still too petrified of his mother and remains silent?  Same with Nurie being away from Jill's clutches - does she speak up or does Nathan silence her?

Not sure exactly how that would help most of them at this point. Gabe down to baby Janessa are still stuck with mama all day, every day to perform for her camera, clean her house, travel on the grift tours and all. As is Renee.

Phillip has worked a few different jobs and been to 2 different bible colleges. He has seen that others don't live the way the rod's do, but I believe Phillip has been well trained to feel superior and persecuted if things go bad. From Phillip's little spiel he is all in.

Kaylee and Jonathan geez those 2 are so enmeshed in life at the barndo. Kaylee's blurb for mama's magazine was a bunch of "i am so homesick" It seems she spends most of her days at the barndo.

Samuel seems over the shit show. but his girl likes a great many of Jill and Kaylee's SM posts and fawns over Jill. I predict Samuel will buy a trailer or a fixer upper within ebike distance from the barndo late this year.

Tim and Heidi - it will be interesting to see if Jill can reel Heidi in to spending her days at the barndo, or going out for coffee with the girlies rather than having her own household.

The other part of the equation is that Tim knows his siblings, even the adults, are still at home with the parents and needing their support.  Tim had the rug pulled out from under him when he was attending college in Wisconsin and Jill got wind he was seeing a non-approved woman.  He knows his siblings will  pay  a very big price if they rebel while they cannot support themselves and need to live at home.  Jill and David are as closeminded as they come; we've seen the way Jill attacks women who wear pants, use birth control or send their kids to public school.  I imagine the wrath of Jill towards her own kids who she views as having strayed is even  worse.

@Notabug, I'm glad you mentioned David in this discussion. While Jill is the public face of the Rodrigueses on the internet, there's evidence that David, when at home, can also contribute to the sad lives the children lead. We've seen the younger Rodlets tiptoeing around the house while he's sleeping in the recliner, Jill's posting about how Timothy was a difficult child, and she and David had to break his will (or whatever term she used), and David's getting large portions of food or eating while the younger children do without.

Whatever dynamic Jill and David have, it doesn't make for a household I'd want to see any children living in.

Why would she go to Las Vegas when she knows she will be exposed to "horrible things".  You can't walk on the street or through a hotel without seeing people drinking and "inappropriately" dressed.  She wouldn't enjoy any of the shows, and I'm not sure she and Dave will be able to find an empty swimming pool.  I know people that will not go to Las Vegas because of their beliefs, but I think Jill just wants to have something to complain about.  She needs to show how "special" she is.  I hope they don't take "smiley tracts" with them.  I wonder what lovely outfit she will come up with.  Her cowgirl suit would get her some attention.

Vegas watch... my friend is on a plane going to LV.

No additional guests means David can’t go in there. And cocktails are on the menu.

Gold finger themed. Well Jill sure loves to jab that finger at everything.

Goldfinger indeed! Doubtless Jill will dress up as Pussy Galore! Or she'll grab a derby and decapitate people who aren't holy enough for her, a la Oddjob.

I'm also remembering the theme song, which discusses a "web of sin" . . .

We've seen Jill's bible. I think plexus is serving Jesus is right there in the margins with all the other things she thinks God/King James missed, so she pens them in herself. 😂

So, wait: Jesus turned water into Plexus? I guess I misread that story.

I think dave is surely involved more than Jill lets on. It slips out once in a while in her posts or dave speak from the pulpit.

It certainly was both parents giving Nurie and Kaylee the purity talk in burger king and a bowling alley or restaurant for the 3 boys.

There is an old blog post about dave coming home from somewhere earlier than expected and one of the girls going into a total panic because daddy was home and her grooming wasn't done. I want to say Olivia who was maybe 8ish at the time.

There was something not long ago about dave and the boys having heated disagreements.

dave has ranted many times about fornicators on public beaches 🙄

I live in Ohio now and I still have no clue how these uneducated, nearly illiterate, inexperienced young 20-somethings get minimum wage jobs and suddenly have enough saved within months to buy their own homes.😳

Eh, they’ll NEVER do it because they’ve all been so thoroughly indoctrinated into the cult, but Gabe, Samuel, and Renee could all get part time jobs now and make enough to rent a small shared apartment in their area quite easily. Other young people their age are doing it and there are plenty of job openings, even for those with limited skills.

Did Jill say on her radio show: she wishes Dave was a better husband/do not covet other women's husbands?

She said that your husband could basically be a dick, but she notes that Dave is a good mechanic. She said to find the good in your husband. She has to dig to find something good about her own husband.

OMG. It’s Jill, Kaylee AND Gideon on the plane to Vegas.  Seriously?  It’s a zillion degrees there, the casinos are as noisy as can be and  her fellow Plexus people don’t want a baby at their meetings and parties.

Do you think Jonathan will be allowed to stay home by himself or will he have to bunk at the Rodrigues’s?

Don't the usual event flyers/announcements specifically mention "no kids"?  Is this going to be one of those times where Jill can't handle someone asking her to follow the rules, then leading to posts screaming PER SUH KEYOOOOO SHUNNNN.

But JillPM Takes Vegas gives her the perfect opportunity to ask Phillip to "hold her Plexus" while she rants about sin and mahhhhhdesty for weeks on end.  Man, she's gonna be so angry in her posts.  I'm relying on y'all who aren't blocked by her to post LOL

The plexus event info did specifically ask people not to bring children.

Jill on the plane, wearing Gideon in the pouch carrier thing probably acting like he's her baby.

What's wrong is that in fundy-land, Kaylee's entire worth, by several miles, is that she birthed a baby (note I didn't say she's a mother, nurturing healthy, stable adults is waaaay down the priority list). Poor little Gid isn't a person, he's a living breathing accessory that shows the heathen sluttish folks what they're supposed to aspire to: procreating for Jesaus in their early-twenties with a plexus empire that lets them go to Vegas and look down their noses at the rest of us. (And what they don't get is that we know that lifestyle exists, we just really, really don't want it).

Likewise, who would take care of the kid if andKaylee didn't? Men watch maps, dip up first, chop wood and pontificate about the Bible (and associated topics -- see fornication). They might occasionally pop a spoon of food in the kid's mouth or hold them for the Instagram pic, but actually care for their own offspring while mom is off on a work trip? Heaven forfend! That is 100% wimmen's work that they may occasionally help with (because they're such extraordinarily awesome fellows, donchaknow).

Sorry to double post, but pass the popcorn everybody! What's going to happen when Jilly's precious. Gahdly, family-friendly company tells her no babies?

The next big Vegas fight: Jill's obsequious love of plexus vs her massive persecution complex. Place your bets, people!

PS. Please plexus huns, don't let me down and back off in the face of Best Grandma Ever and her puppet.

Why did Kaylee get to go and not Renee?   Isn’t Renee selling Plexus too?    can’t have a single female traveling to Vegas?

from the convention FAQs:

Can children attend Convention?

Because seating is limited, and this is an educational training conference for business, we ask attendees to not bring children. Please note anyone attending any of the Convention events must be registered, registration fees are the same for all; however, children 5 and under are free.

What Jill read:  kids 5 and under are welcome. Kaylee didn’t read any of it.

Doncha know Jill will roll into the meeting room, wearing Gideon in a sling, with Kaylee trailing along. Then Jill will hand Gideon to Kaylee. At some time during the seminar/meeting, while everyone's paying attention to the presentation?  Gideon will start crying, and instead of taking him quickly out of the room, Jill and Kaylee with do their soothing mother cosplay stuff to be sure everybody knows what Excellent Gawdly Mothers they both are.

I'm surprised David didn't go. It's not like he has anything else to do, and he really likes vacations. I guess it would have cost a lot to bring him, but he would be a little easier to handle than a baby.

I imagine Kaylee feels really special being on a trip with Mama. She should enjoy the feeling while it lasts.

I'm surprised he didn't go either. Who is going to keep all the men away from Jill???

Looks like they are staying at the Excalibur, which is much cheaper than Caesar's.

She has like 20 love languages. And all that makes her one of the shittiest mothers I am aware of.

The thing about love languages, though, is that they are presumed to go both ways. Jill's pretty much only work as far as her personal desires. They don't really seem to apply to the way she demonstrates it. Does she even actually do that? She will claim unbounded love for people, but those mostly seem like pretty empty words.

I am still try to figure out how to report them for copyright infringement on this. I do not believe it is Public Domain or that they have permission. Nor would it qualify under the Fair Use section.

Concord Theatricals or MTI may hold the licensing rights (at least for youth productions).

I found this on a Rogers & Hammerstein website page featuring the lyrics to the song:

"So Long, Farewell" (Rodgers/Hammerstein II)
© 1959, Copyright Renewed, Williamson Music Company (ASCAP) c/o Concord Music Publishing.
All Rights Reserved. Used by Permission.

They are renewed until 2049 or something. I just can't find where to actually report it. I can see where to report if it was my copyright but not for their copyright or how to report use to the owners.

It is hot here and I am bored, so I will keep looking. That they play the  sheet music, sing the song and act out the scene is surely a violation.

I would go to the website of the company holding the copyright.  There’s probably a general contact email there. Tell them about the video clip and   give them Jill’s Facebook id.  It’s then up to them whether they pursue infringement.

The reason is simple. Kaylee has a husband who can pay for this trip, and Renee doesn't. With Jill, always assume there's a grift.
