Sweet Fellowship: Duggars and Friends (aka the Bates Family and Other Featured Families Thread)

Message added by Scarlett45

If a person/family was never featured on any of the Duggar shows, and is not related to the Duggar family by blood or marriage, they do not need to be discussed here..

We may all agree that David Rodriques is quite unfortunate looking, but let's refrain from comparing human beings to apes, its got way too much of a loaded history- please review the new Inclusion Policy updated May 1, 2022 , which details guidelines around discussing body type, capabilities, physical appearance etc. Additionally, using body size as an insult is not allowed.

This was part of their “wholesome” family outing. Idiots.

Like all the "extra loving" makes up for the fact that Jill.is just the world's cruelest mother. But her world is all about her at all times.

Jill was laughing herself when she picked up sobbing Janessa. Fuck her.

Can you imagine the one of the persons (other than dad) in your life who is supposed to be your lifeline and she is laughing at you? And so was Dave. No wonder the child is always with that blanket.

They keep their kids in line by scaring them.

Ah. That makes perfect sense.  I have always wondered about this.  It also seems that this type of parenting is very lacking in empathy for their kids, which seems completely at odds with what they proclaim about themselves.  They seem to get a cheap thrill about exposing their kids to things that are frightening and dangerous.

I suppose it's a great way to keep their kids very insulated and isolated from the world at large, too.  If their home life is scary, why would they want to go out into a world that is even scarier?  This is so twisted and wrong and definitely NOT funny.

EDIT: I noticed that Jill recently videoed an entire sermon at whatever church they were attending that day. Didn't she already get her hands slapped for that?

That's it exactly.   Which is why their "humor" is so cruel.  They lack empathy so can't see how scaring someone is not actually funny.

Even with Jill displaying all kinds of narcissistic tendencies I believe she fully understood the terror Janessa was feeling. Jill gets enjoyment from others' pain.

That is truly heartbreaking.  Like, I can't think about it too hard or I might cry.  I loathed Jill already but she's pond scum and her kids are paying the price.

Let’s see… Jill’s posts consist of shilling plexus, shilling the frumpiest clothes I have ever seen, posting political ads 🙄 and posting about being persecuted.
…Why am I even looking at them?!!! (I guess it’s like the car crash you can’t look away from…).

….I am PradaKitty and I have approved this post.

According to a recent video, Jill has thought a lot  about what she can do to earn money. She thought about house cleaning. Roadblock, David didn’t want her “in another man’s house , cleaning another man’s house”.  He wants her “safe at home pouring into the children, homeschooling, cooking dinners”.

How’s that working out?

She doesn't even clean her own house, she makes the older girls do all that.   Does she realize she would have to actually do the work, not just direct other people how to do it?

She's so tiring.

Well David is kind right.   If Jill is going to clean anyones decrepit old shack it is going to be his.   Plus maybe cook a meal and make him feel like a man so they can pour their love into each other and maybe make another baby they could both ignore.

This "cleaning men's houses" video is just a plea to the churches for more money. Jill doesn't want a job that involves lifting; she likes to supervise while other people work.

Why are the Rods suddenly so desperate? It wasn't long ago that Jill was boasting about how Plexus was the perfect supplement to their regular income.

Is it possible that donations to the missionary clearinghouse have dropped off and that is reflected in the Rods' monthly checks? My understanding is that the clearing house just handles collections from churches and pays the missionaries from the donations that come in.

Jill really needs to get Renee sold married to someone with a good job so there's a new source of in-law income to tap. Nathan and Jonathan are probably at their limit, and Heidi and Brianne certainly won't be of any help.

Still, I fully expect Jill and David to continue to take nice vacations, eat out, and shop, even if money is tight. Nothing makes Jill happier than spending on herself.

Maybe Jill should think about spending less money on junk.

Also, I'm sure there are widows or single moms looking for house cleaners.

A widow? Maybe, but a single mother? No way!

I, also, wonder if the ClearingHouse income has been cut back or has come to an end.  She was told ordered to stay off social media, and then she goes and starts a public feud with her new in-laws which involved a lot of other family members.  No mention of Plexus lately.  Something is up with their finances, and I'm guessing that it won't be long before their new church is tired of them, also. No updates on Philip or Tim/Heidi.  I think this feud over Tim's wedding really caused some real problems for Jill.  But at least she can scare her children when things get tough and she needs a laugh.

She is definitely not pouring much of anything into those kids, especially not food, love, or feeling safe and secure.

Oh, she's pushing Plexus HARD of late. But I to agree that there's been diminishment of funds from other sources. Yet Jill still seems to spend like a drunken sailor. On herself, of course.

They probably lost whatever income Tim was making and handing over, same with Phillip (unless he is sending money home). Perhaps the banks of Nathan and Jonathan are running dry as well.

At a recent grifting stop, Renee said that Phillip was in West Virginia seeking the Lord's direction for his life. I imagine he's staying with Pat and Tim and helping his helpless grandfather. I checked his LinkedIn a few days ago after hearing of this new development, but he hadn't updated anything in the past couple of weeks.

All that to say, it's doubtful Phillip is a source of income for them.

eta No activity on Phillip's LinkedIn for 3 weeks.

I think they see the end of the grift tour is nearer than they expected. Children aging out, no one will give them a new RV. Van is old. Congregations they visit have mostly older folks and less of them to donate.

Jill is scrambling for new income to replace that lovely direct cash, the church paid trips trips to thrift shops, giftd cards and all.

They are still listed with the Clearing House as a printing ministry, but money to the rods maybe decreased.

They also had many churches directly supporting them as missionaries. These are the people that might question things and cut back donations. Many of the pastors, spouses and congregation member are jill's fb friends. They can surely see the trips, new shed, generator etc. They can also see how much time they spend away from that "always" busy printing ministry.

Also I don’t think David really wants Jill to see how other wives live.  Just think about what she might see in a well kept well maintained house with a husband who brings in a steady income.

No good can come of it.

Oh I’m sure David is one of those that thinks a male and female cannot be alone in a house if they aren’t married to each other.  I believe it was Derick that wouldn’t allow a repairman to come to the house if  Jill was home by herself.  Or maybe Jill refused to allow the repairman if her accountability partner was absent

Remember when they begged for their electric bill to be paid for? Wonder if they got any $. David apparently drives the Amish. Why can't Jill drive them around too?

David doesn't want to work and neither does Jill. 2 ladies who created 13 humans. If they are getting food stamps those are probably decreasing too.

Why can't Jill clean houses  when the MAN is at work? Wouldn't that solve the problem?

You'd think.  Of course, she might have to do his manly laundry or wash his manly whiskers out of the sink.  Might make her lustful for him and who knows what a woman would do in the throes of desire?  Even if he is not at home, he might entice her away.

Then, there's Dave. We've spent plenty of time here discussing his work ethic, his money earning abilities, his preaching and his looks.  Considering the totality of Dave's many charms; I think there might be good reason for him to think that, if Jill spent any time with another man, Dave might not be looking too desirable in comparison.

I use cleaning ladies every couple of weeks as do many of my colleagues.  I don't know anyone who is even home when their cleaners are working.  Even when I was recovering from surgery last winter, I managed to make myself scarce on the days they came; it's easier for them to work without the client underfoot.

WE laugh but Jill finding another man attractive is entirely possible. She has been with Dave since she was a teen. She is now a grown woman of a certain age (immature mind you), and might see what she could have had. Or at least that is what Dave is afraid of. Then again, it probably has more to do with the "my wife doesn't work" mindset some of those people have.

I work from home half the week.   The cleaning guys who come to my apartment every other week happen to come in on a day I am home. So it is just me and a couple of guys who clean my bathroom and my kitchen.    It is all very lustfull is all I can say.

We are living in a gig economy. If Dave and/or Jill really wanted to make money there are a million ways to do it.    Neither of them want to.  Begging and get rich quick schemes are the life that chose.

And they are now finding out that grifting has its limits.   They have nothing saved for emergencies, or even when they are too old to grift.  Hence the flurry of new ideas to get money.   None of which are working because people are just tired of her.    People have money to give, they just don't want to give it to someone who has endless vacations and is always buying new stuff while discussing how modest she is.   They prefer to help someone who lost their home or business in North Carolina, or is trying to find regular work but just can't for some reason.   Not someone perfectly capable of working but chooses not to do anything "too hard."

Dave should be in that print shop every single day.   If not producing, then marketing to get more business.   Jill could be doing lots of things besides being on social media for hours a day when she is not all up in her kids' business.  There's something she could that is ladies only if Dave is worried about her straying.

It's Jill's perfect setup.  She "thinks" about housecleaning but she knows it will never happen because Dave won't allow it.  If Dave wants his wife at home, the only solution is for him to get a job, but that would affect their ministry, which isn't brining in enough money to support a dozen people.  So both of them sit there at Olive Garden eating their third basket of breadsticks, pondering the fact that they need more money but putting up every roadblock imaginable to prevent it from happening.  So far they've been able to rely on the kindness of others when things get really bad but that seems to have dried up - everyone is struggling right now, they aren't unique just because they have a million kids.  They're a snake eating its own tail and wondering why it hurts.

Also, I was less than thrilled to see Janessa finally taking a turn at "modeling."  Just NO.  And again, Jill - if you are actually wearing something to sell, you can't advertise it as "brand new" because you're wearing it.
