Sweet Fellowship: Duggars and Friends (aka the Bates Family and Other Featured Families Thread)

Message added by Scarlett45

If a person/family was never featured on any of the Duggar shows, and is not related to the Duggar family by blood or marriage, they do not need to be discussed here..

The Politics Policy is still in effect. A participants social media is NOT an invitation to discuss their political view points. Consider if discussion of certain social media posts will cause you to violate the politics policy BEFORE you hit the "Submit Reply" button.

We may all agree that David Rodriques is quite unfortunate looking, but let's refrain from comparing human beings to apes, its got way too much of a loaded history- please review the new Inclusion Policy updated May 1, 2022 , which details guidelines around discussing body type, capabilities, physical appearance etc. Additionally, using body size as an insult is not allowed.

Using the word "bestie" is also not a Gen X thing.  It's more millennial, and yes, grown women do refer to their BFFs as bestie on social media.

My two best friends of 44 years and I do use it, but Jill uses it with everyone!

If the women dressed modest and wore no makeup they’d never catch a husband. They advertise their bodies because that’s they got, no education, no personality, no wit, no $. Hey sweet grunting hunk marry me because I have no education, can’t work and have no $. I need a man to support me and fill my open womb with 35 blessings!

Which makes me wonder — what about the women in these cults who aren’t attractive? The Bates girls are all quite pretty, and the Duggar girls and spouses of the Duggar boys are all above-average in appearance, but there have to be some women in Fundieland who have less pleasing countenances. What happens to them?

These women aren’t allowed to be intelligent, educated, or interesting, and I assume they’re all equally capable of parroting bible verses and such. So really, to a depressing degree, their looks are all they have going for them. Do the ones who never catch a fundie guy’s eye just live with their parents forever?

Probably. It reminds me of Jane Austen novels. If you’re not rich, better hope you’re pretty. Otherwise, you take any guy you can get and make the best of it (just lie back and think of England). Or maybe hope a sister marries very well.

It’s sad, really. So much wasted potential. You wonder how many girls end up married to petty dictators and abusers who make their lives hell. But, hey, at least you have a husband, right?

Well, there wasn't a meme to get her likes saying "you were our most whiny, stubborn, difficult child who needed consistent and constant correction for every infraction to break your will. Who pestered me to buy you a toy even when it wasn't your week"

This is the child who she has been on her knees endlessly for, weeping to the lord for a wife for him because she thought he would never find a chaste, trim mate who would love the amish country and assimilate to the rodborg.

I do think she means this for all her boys, but can only tag timbits since he went against her will and has his own sm.

As for the youtube channel - they have that so Jill believes she is controlling the narrative of her family and so she can get attention.

Jilly wishes Tim was still small so she could run the show. It's driving her nuts that Tiedi are managing social media without magically appearing on her page to post.

Jill didn't write that. It's cut off at the bottom where the author's name was shown.

She actually deleted that post last night. I guess she re-posted it? Weird.

Yeah, I realize she was using someone else's work but she's claiming those are her feelings. Mahmo isn't getting to star in The Tiedi Show, but she can't help but insert herself any place she can.

I just checked, and it wasn't re-posted. Tim must have gotten in Mahmo's ear.

I think Jill just happened upon the tribute to sons because it was national sons day last week and that was probably posted by someone she knows. It was also national daughters day last week and nothing from Jill about that.

I think she means it for all the boys, but only posted it to tag tim for reasons that make sense in her own mind. Like want to have your own fb, then I am going to tag the hell out of you with random posts.

We shall see if Jill posts memes and glowing tributes and tags her "daughter in love" should tim and heidi get married.

I'm very undecided in how I feel about Jill's ode to Timmay.  My MIL actually got that exact writing, framed, as a gift to Mr. Six when we got married.  It's hanging in our living room now.  Combine that with them being in Frederick looking at stuff they don't understand, I'm a ball of emotions in this season.  I wonder how many people have been driven to drink because of our Jillpm?

I was expecting an engagement announcement before now.  T & H were hugging pretty close in the video about the house.  Much more than just holding hands.  She also used the "L" word when talking about Tim.  I really am happy that they have taken control over their internet life.  Maybe Heidi is the backbone Tim needs.  I hope so.

I didn't think it was possible for her eyebrows to get even more tragic. I was wrong.

Why the HELL can't she just leave her eyebrows alone?? Here we were thinking she could escape Mahmo's horrid style by moving to FL. . .

Does Nurie ever wonder why she never sees anyone else with eyebrows that look like sperm? Does she even know what sperm look like? I suppose that wasn't covered in the Rodrigues Home School Academy.

I think shaping her eyebrows that way makes her large nose look even larger.  I bet if anyone mentioned that to her she'd rethink the eyebrows!

She's probably destroyed so many hair follicles with her obsessive tweezing, there's nothing left to rethink.

I worked with a woman (RIP Patti) that had to have plucked her eyebrows away.  When I knew her, she had to draw them on with what looked like a crayon.  Nurie probably looked nicer with her natural brows, before Mahmo held her down and tweezed them into that weird shape.  Same with her sisters, although Nurie's look the worst, so far.

I think Nurie's natural brows are like Nemo's in the Summer Fun video picture, fairly straight across, tapering at the ends.

I guess Jill was trying to give Nurie's brows a strong arch, but the arch doesn't go next to the nose. Jill didn't know what she was doing (not that lack of knowledge has ever stopped her), so she left Nurie with very odd eyebrows. I suppose Nurie thinks her brows are great because BME designed them.

Jill's eyebrows don't look this way. Maybe Nurie should think about that.

Jill's eyebrows USED to look that way. But even Jill is capable of seeing the error of her ways and grew them out somewhat. Why hasn't Nurie noticed?

Jill could say something to Nurie, and I'm surprised she hasn't. Unless Nurie's brow tweezing is a nervous habit she can't control, she'd jump to do what Mama wants.

Jill has a 45-minute video of their summer "vacation".  She's claiming that a man (a stranger) came over and offered to take them tubing & water skiing.  And her immediate response was it was God 🙄.  I hope he dumps her pink, Plexus ass in the middle of the lake.

From what I've heard, her videos are mashups of stuff she's previously posted on SM. I highly suggest not watching, as we discuss her posts here in closer to real time. 😀

Jill’s latest. Using the tag because it’s a long one.

Spoiler

As Christians, we live on the spiritual battlefield.  Many do not want to call what we are facing GOOD and EVIL, but that is exactly how it has always been since the beginning of time.  Yes, God gives us a free will to live how we choose to, but our choices are critical to the direction in which our own spiritual battle will turn.

I watch lots of Christians be valiant soldiers on the battlefield for many years, but as the battle rages and they watch fellow soldiers peel off the armor that protected them from the wiles of the devil and his devices, they fall prey to the lies of the enemy.  When this so sadly happens, the effects are devastating.

You see, as Christians, our name is sealed in the Lamb's Book of Life.  We cannot lose our salvation, and Satan knows this.  So, his primary goal in Christians' lives, is to destroy their testimonies.  He does not care in which way he delivers his lies.  Quite frankly, it is more deceptive to others when coming from fellow Christians.  It also "muddies" the clarity to the unsaved of what it means to live Christ-like.

The culture of modern day Christianity, proclaims that "anything goes" as long as we love Jesus.  We have forgotten the trail that was blazed for us by many warriors of the faith. These were Christians that did NOT give up on the battlefield, no matter the trial.

-They were Christians devastated by the persecution of their faith, and came to America to find peace to serve God with a passion.

-They were women who were beaten by their drunk husband's, and fell to their knees as prayer warriors for their towns to become "dry counties" and for God to deliver their husbands from the addiction of alcohol.

-They were men that settled a Nation by the sweat of their brow by plowing fields, clearing  woods, building log cabins, all while leading their families in prayer and Bible reading each night.  They were not weak men that turned to pornography to find momentary pleasure.  They were faithful men who loved and cherished their wives, that gave ALL so we could enjoy what we have today.

-They were children that worked hard along side their parents to merely survive.  They did not complain and expect payment for each small contribution they gave to the family dynamic.  They were respectful to their parents and authorities and learned as children the importance of dying to "self".

-They were women who dressed like modest ladies and were reverent to their husbands while respecting his leadership in the home.

We have sadly ripped off the the armor that we should so fervently KEEP ON!  Many Christians of today, are basking in the comfortable afterglow of what their parents and forefathers have built for them.  The spiritual Revival of yesteryear, has grown cold in the hearts of so many!  We justify over and over our ecumenical Christianity and call it "growth".  It breaks my heart.

The "fruit" hanging on the lives of who gave their ALL to Jesus Christ and the ways of the Bible, is waning.  Soon, there will be little to no fruit left and unless we have another spiritual Revival, we will spiritually "starve" as a Nation.

Let me ask, have you fallen prey to the enemy on the battlefield?   Are you lying wounded, or even worse, have you become a traitor to promote the ways of the enemy?

Are you striving to live sanctified and holy, or has the enemy convinced you that NONE of that really matters?  The devil tantalizes us into believing that our pleasure and happiness is the primary goal in life.  Chase after THAT, and you will have fulfilled your purpose in life.  Really?  What of the Christians that were burned at the stake for their faith?

You see, God blesses His children with many things in this life to enjoy, but when we turn against Him and His ways, it slowly turns the compass in an evil direction in which the entire Nation takes.  Christians WILL give account for their part in this.

I TRULY love people and my heart is to show them the love of Christ, but it is also to encourage wavering, staggering, weak soldiers on the battlefield, to stand strong; to put on the WHOLE armor of God!  To rise up and remember that in the end, when we stand before God with fear and trembling, the exhausting battle against evil, was worth it!

I heard once, that when the master of a dog gets attacked, the dog barks to defend its master.  My Master- Jesus Christ- and His ways, are being attacked.  I will bark.

Dear One, are you weary on the battlefield?  Perhaps you have suffered hurt so deep, you don't know how to rise up.  Remember, never turn against the One that will bring you the greatest comfort of all!

I Peter 5:7 "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen."

Stand Strong and vehemently wear your spiritual armor.   I love you all!  ❤️  Jill

Ephesians 6:10 "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak."
