WireWrap February 28, 2015 Share February 28, 2015 , Kim's life has become more complicated and stressful and Kyle's has become full of positive family, work and social commitments. Kim's life became more complicated by her own doing. She refused to continue training Kingsley, she wanted to be the caretaker for a wandering, although gravely ill, Monty, she chose to use drugs not prescribed for her and she chose to bring Brandi into her close circle. Those are self inflected complications/wounds. It was confusing to me at the beginning of the season (White Party) because Brandi was acting like she was being left out. To Umbelina's point earlier, she was really getting along with everyone save for Lisa V. I had no idea why she was acting like a petulant child. She said something about it not being "cool" to be left out, and said it reminded her of the first time they all met her at that charity event. It was strange because it was nothing like that, but she clearly felt like she was being excluded in a manner. I think this is in large part because everyone else had reached out to Lisa V and started the healing process, but Brandi had not. Lisa V is a huge part of this group. How she feels about you and how she behaves around you will in large part decide your destiny among the fans. If she likes you, you are in fairly good shape. If she doesn't, good luck to you. I cannot think of an entire situation that would disprove this. Kyle and Lisa V got back on track very quickly, which I will imagine was irritating to Brandi. There were pictures of them on social media out together with Ken and Mauricio before they ever started filming, so they were moving along nicely. But I think the bigger issue was Yo. Yo had said on WWHL that she didn't see Brandi when they were not filming, and Brandi responded to that negatively on Twitter. Now this is the thing: Yo has always belonged to Brandi. Always. Yo has never even gotten close to anyone else on the show (I always contended there was no warmth between Lisa V and Yo). Yo always followed Brandi's lead in how she felt about the other ho'wives. If Brandi had an issue with them, Yo had an issue with them. Marisa, Faye, Taylor, Kyle, Kim, Lisa, Joyce. This is just how it went. Now the season starts and it is clear that Yo and Kyle have bonded during the hiatus. Their joint trip, which was very personal in nature with Yo spending time alone with Kyle and her family, didn't get planned overnight. It happened near the beginning of the season, and if they were close enough at that time to have planned a trip together, they must have been getting close before the season began. I think as the season moved on this might have started to bother Brandi. Then you had Lisa making it cear she would be pleasant, but their great friendsip was over. I would imagine it irritated Brandi for Kyle o be back in but she wasn't. She has been replaced by Kyle, but also by this new girl, Lisar. Lisar is now having all the fun with Lisa that she use to have. I just think all of that combined to make Brandi go kind of batshit crazy. IMO, Brandi thought Lisa/Ken would come crawling back to her and I think Yolanda really pulled away because of the Mohammed/Joanna comment Brandi made. 11 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/22698-s05e15-welcome-to-amsterdam/page/13/#findComment-873868
ryebread February 28, 2015 Share February 28, 2015 I wonder if Kyle would secretly love to have Kim off the show. My guess would be yes. As has been mentioned Kyle and Mauricio's income has greatly improved. Maybe she would love to just film fab parties and vacations with the other women. Idk, I'm just wondering. I'm sure that would be more fun for her. I don't know why she just wouldn't want to just have fab parties and vacations with her real friends. Spa retreats in Arizona during visits with Alexia. Spending, at leisure, all that lovely new money. Without filming at all. But she needs the cameras following her around. I always wondered why Bethenny didn't do the same thing. Take her millions, be with her kid every day and just enjoy life for awhile. Doing these shows must not be as miserable as they sometimes make it out to be. 9 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/22698-s05e15-welcome-to-amsterdam/page/13/#findComment-873870

parisprincess February 28, 2015 Share February 28, 2015 I think it's sad because it's like Kim's gotta always swallow anything she finds hurtful because no one will find it relevant enough for consideration What doesn't she find hurtful? She never seems to be really happy (unless she's high and being a bitch like she was at Eileen's poker party). Kim has said she knows Kyle can not be there 24/7, she has said this on camera for all of us to hear. Put yourself in Kyle's shoes.....She has been cleaning up and picking up the pieces of Kim's life for 30+ years but she is not allowed to say 1 word (detail wise) about it publicly but Kim can put her on blast when ever she wants. Kim can confide with someone she knows hates her sister then stands back while that person reveals lies/half truths about the very same sister she claims to need without ever correcting that person, Brandi, and yet Kyle is not allowed to defend herself because that would involve betraying Kim big time. Kyle is caught in a horrible trap, to defend herself she must betray Kim. It is a trap set by Brandi, without doubt, but Kim is a willing participant alongside Brandi IMO. Kim placed herself in this position by confiding in Brandi and by not getting clean/sober or being honest about her continued relapse and IMO, she is enjoying seeing Kyle's pain. That smirk she has on her face every time she or Brandi go for Kyle's throat says it all. WireWrap, I'd give this 100 thumbs up if I could! Well stated and so true. 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/22698-s05e15-welcome-to-amsterdam/page/13/#findComment-873902

Giselle February 28, 2015 Share February 28, 2015 I give up! Since when did this become the Kim Richards show with everyone else in a supporting role relating to her "problems." I'm out for the rest of the season. Tired of the focus on Richards while Lisa Rinna, Eileen Davidson, Lisa Vanderpump and even Yolanda, who all have interesting lives, wither on the vine. Well, we did get to see the David Foster benefit last night. I guess Bravo forgot to cut it or they ran out of Kim segments. I'll check in from time to time to see if the focus changes. I understand where you're coming from. I'm almost there myself and Yo's fridge and house may not be enough to keep me tuning in. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/22698-s05e15-welcome-to-amsterdam/page/13/#findComment-873959

Some seemed to have really practical reasons for being on the show (Alex NY, Bethanny NY in the first few seasons, Laurie OC, Cynthia ATL), but for the most part these shows are made up of women who don't really need to be on a TV show. Watermelon February 28, 2015 Share February 28, 2015 Except to act sober, you might actually have to be sober. I have not beleived Kim was sober during any season of this show. I believe there might have been a season when she stopped drinking. But she was never sober, IMO. That said, I also saw loud and clear, in the last episode, where for whatever reason I don't think she was UTI, that she is still the spoiled child. Of course then she was a child "star". Now she is just an aging former child star with the temperment of a spoiled child. Not a good look. of COURSE she's not sober. Just like she didn't spend 9 days in any hospital. just like she probably doesn't have a hernia or half the other shit she said she had for sympathy. But it's annoying to call her a liar all the time, so JUST IN CASE she was actually a sober person, that's what a sober person should do to not seem high and evil. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/22698-s05e15-welcome-to-amsterdam/page/13/#findComment-874269

That is the rumor/story and if true, it amounts to $260K a year which is not much compared to the others. Nice money for most people but not enough to even fit in with the OC or the NJ HWs, let alone the BH, NY, or Miami HWs. From what I uderstand all of the women live in West LA and generally in the platinum triangle area or Malibu. I think BH just makes for an easier title and description of the general part of LA these women are talking about. ATL and DC were the same way. Most of the women didn't actually live in the city in the title, but The Real Housweives of Deluth County Georgia doesn't have the same ring to it. 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/22698-s05e15-welcome-to-amsterdam/page/13/#findComment-874891

Why is Kyle the only person who should even be Kim's rock, pillar, what have you? Kim has adult children. She has another sister. Brandi makes it seem Kyle is the only person Kim needs when she is having a breakdown of sorts. Umbelina - If I may add to your list of Kim's personal dramas. Therere was that incident over a year ago when one of Kim's children had a mental breakdown and was taken for a 72 hour hold. That certainly had to shake things up for Kim in many ways. It is also a clear example of something that was out of Kim's control. Unlike taking in Monty, which was clearly a choice she made. As for her daughter's wedding, I get the feeling big sister Kathy helped out big time with the costs and planning. She was there to tell Kim and her daughter what bridal dress was better. I think Kim would love to show that she did it all on her own, but I think not. I feel sympathy for any addict for the disease they are dealing with. However, I give them a side-eye when they make bad choices and burn bridges, which only goes with the territory. Just recently my spouse received a call from a friend he had not seen in three years. Good reason for that - the friend is an addict. The guy and his wife needed a place to stay. They had burned bridges because of choices they made due to drug use. My spouse told him "sorry" and advised him to go to the local shelter. It pained us to turn them away, but we are not enablers. Time and time again, Kim acts like an ass. Everyone goes through drama, not just Kim. Typical addict who thinks their shit don't stink and people owe them. What I want to know is, what in the hell does Kim want from Kyle? Has she been clear on that? I don't think so. Edited February 28, 2015 by GreatKazu 6 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/22698-s05e15-welcome-to-amsterdam/page/13/#findComment-874909
ryebread February 28, 2015 Share February 28, 2015 I don't know why she just wouldn't want to just have fab parties and vacations with her real friends. Spa retreats in Arizona during visits with Alexia. Spending, at leisure, all that lovely new money. Without filming at all. But she needs the cameras following her around. To be fair you can say this about so many cast members on the Real Housewives. Some seemed to have really practical reasons for being on the show (Alex NY, Bethanny NY in the first few seasons, Laurie OC, Cynthia ATL), but for the most part these shows are made up of women who don't really need to be on a TV show. They like the attention. I agree but we were talking about Kyle. Also, Kyle is the only one with real money on RHOBH that cries, whines and complains. She seems miserable most of the time. Unlike the Lisas, Eileen or Yolanda. Granted, none of them have a Kim. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/22698-s05e15-welcome-to-amsterdam/page/13/#findComment-874926
talula February 28, 2015 Share February 28, 2015 (edited) Yes and no, lol. You mentioned that Kyle's life has changed and she may have less time for Kim as a result, I was saying that Kim's life has changed as well, by her own doing. I said both their lives have changed, "Kyle's life has changed and she feels she cannot fulfill Kim's demands brought on by her own poor decisions" and "Things appear to have changed between the sisters as they mature, Kim's life has become more complicated and stressful and Kyle's has become full of positive family, work and social commitments." If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck then it's a duck...it's the same thing as far as I'm concerned. Keep LisaV away from my duck thank you... DebbieM4 February 28, 2015 Share February 28, 2015 (edited) Has there ever been a time on this show where David was part of the episode that Yolanda didn't make some sort of toast or speech about him? After a while it gets a little overkill. I know this time it was warranted because it is his foundation, but I'm pretty sick of her always toasting and praising him in front of everybody. Nobody else on this show does that when their husband is featured in the episode. We get it Yo, you love David! Sheesh! Yes, it is unbelievably tiresome. Not every occasion calls for a toast to David, complete with Yolanda's lovey-dovey bullshit, yet we are subjected to exactly that time and time again. It never comes across as authentic to me. Way too forced, way too manufactured. As though she's trying to convince us and everyone else of something that honestly I couldn't care less about. This is not producer-driven, it's Yolanda-driven. And we also never see David unless he's in the spotlight. I understand that this event was a good thing and all that, but it seems he can't be bothered to make an appearance on this show unless it directly relates to him. He's always off doing this and that, which Yolanda is only too happy to let us know, complete with the ever-present name-dropping. And I'm sure he does travel quite a bit. But I'm also sure there are plenty of times that Yolanda is filming at a dinner with HW's and husbands, and David is home in his boxer shorts watching a movie. If the storyline doesn't revolve around him, he's not interested. I'm probably completely biased because I don't like Yolanda or David at all. She annoys me pretty much every time she opens her mouth. I'll never forget how she treated Joyce at the reunion and mockingly, like the meanest of mean girls, said to the others, "Did you hear what she just said?". And then she openly laughed at her. I never liked Yolanda, but that sealed the deal for me. Joyce is thousands of IQ points ahead of Yolanda, and she has a more loving husband and more authentic marriage besides. Yolanda, IMO, is fake in every way. All about facade and not about anything real. I don't want to hear anymore how much she loves pompous, self-centered David. It was cringeworthy the first time, and it's awkwardly embarrassing now. People who are confident & secure don't do that kind of thing. It's like the saying about sex: The ones who brag about doing it all the time are likely not doing it very much at all. Every time she starts talking about their great love, I think she just sounds desperate to make us believe that it's true. DebbieM4 February 28, 2015 Share February 28, 2015 Re: the scavenger hunt, there is no way the teams were randomly assigned! And Kim outed herself again when in her TH she reminded us how sick she's been, you know, her pneumonia and broken ribs and hernia? However, on the hunt, she says it's her knees that are causing her problems. Okaaay. Yolanda? "You were greedy, you didn't want vanilla, you wanted chocolate, now you have to drink it!" Seriously? Liking chocolate makes one greedy? If I didn't think she had food issues in the past, this would be all I needed to convince me.Someone must have held her feet to the fire to get her to agree to all these sweets-based tasks. And not a lemon in sight! Who were those snotty girls in the clue shirts? Revolting. My guess is they are some of those horrid wannabes from Lisa's restaurant. Oh, and it wasn't Kim who first came up with Jack Nicholson. It was someone on the pink team; I think it was Camille. IIRC, Yolanda wanted vanilla, but the other two wanted chocolate, so she reluctantly gave in, realizing that majority rules. I was kind of surprised that she acted so reasonably. And then she made the "greedy" remark! Her whole schoolmarm/lecturing persona is on my last nerve. And yes, she does have major food issues, but would shout down anyone who dared to suggest that because she is the expert on everything. 6 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/22698-s05e15-welcome-to-amsterdam/page/13/#findComment-875069
rho February 28, 2015 Share February 28, 2015 (edited) How many of these women actually live in Beverly Hills? Both Lisas have BH postal addresses. Most of Beverly Hills is commercial space. Lots of shops, condos and apartment buildings. There are a few streets between Santa Monica and Sunset that have smaller (still $$$$) ungated homes. These are the places on the 'star sighting tours.' The gated communities lie north of that. There isn't a lot of real estate space with the giant reservoir/park going through the north part of the city and everyone's sitting on a few acres of land. It's hard to say which is most expensive because there is a good mix. All homes at at least 7 figures but you can find mega mansions in each neighborhood. I think you're right about Eileen and Yolanda, since it's quite a drive for the other HW. I thought Lisa V and Kyle lived near each other but maybe not. Adrienne lived across the street from Lisa V. but both moved. BH and neighboring areas are such a pain in the ass. Since there are so many compounds and canyons, none of the streets go all the way through. Even when Lisa and Adrienne lived across the street, it was probably a mile walk from door to door. No one lives near anyone. I think that's supposed to be part of the allure. But Eileen and Yolanda are really out of the way. Malibu is a good hour from BH. I think the show uses BH as a general area description. Agreed! They might live outside the 90210 but they spend a good deal of time there, either working or socializing. I think, for the most part, they are talking about the Beverly Hills culture of excess, not necessarily the zip code the women buy homes in. You could call it The Real Housewives of West LA or even LA, but BH projects the kind of image Bravo is going for to people who aren't really familiar with all the ins and outs of LA geography. 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/22698-s05e15-welcome-to-amsterdam/page/13/#findComment-875186
SwordQueen February 28, 2015 Share February 28, 2015 Thanks rho, Fozzybear, Zoeysmom, AnnA and everyone who helped me understand better where all of the HW live. I wonder if distance plays a part in where they shoot their scenes and who shoots scenes together. Like instead of having most of the ladies drive to Malibu, it might be easier to have them all gather at a more central location around BH. Where does Brandi live, again? She's friends (or was) with Yo, and we see her trekking there pretty often for scenes. Do we know if the HW get any sort of stipend for using their own vehicles or is that included in their salary? Brentwood is near UCLA just across Sepulveda. It will say about 2 miles but it takes 15 minutes. In SoCal everything is time not miles. Beverly Park is north of Holmby Hills. This is true of the DC Metro area as well. It's not the miles that determine how long it takes to get somewhere, but traffic, weather, construction -- all that good stuff. I think that I'm so tired of talking about The Three Stooges (Kim, Kyle and Brandi) that I'm now more interested in learning about LA geography and production. And I'm half rubbing my hands together and looking forward to next Tuesday and half already cringing in my chair out of disgust and second-hand embarrassment, because I know it's going to be a clusterfuck of epic proportions. And only because I like Lisa R do I hope that she is given ample "reason" to go all Soap Opera Crazy on Kim, because once you start throwing glasses and tables and shit around and snatching weaves, your reputation is sealed. 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/22698-s05e15-welcome-to-amsterdam/page/13/#findComment-875831
Emme February 28, 2015 Share February 28, 2015 She never called him an alcoholic. He chose to stop drinking because of the family issues with alcohol. And I'm not sure why that means Lisa has to stop drinking since she isn't the one with a family history of issues with alcohol. Didn't Kyle ask Lisa R. Something about how Harry's "sobriety" was going? For a moment Lisa looked really pissed, then composed herself. Did I imagine this? If so, kind of shitty of Kyle. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/22698-s05e15-welcome-to-amsterdam/page/13/#findComment-875895

I avoid the Cabin John Bridge at all costs from 2pm to 8pm it is a parking lot going north. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/22698-s05e15-welcome-to-amsterdam/page/13/#findComment-875907
