Yeah, I'm souring on Arianna. I don't think I've seen her in commercials for a while now, but there is a makeup (I think) commercial with Eliza Banks who I keep mistaking for her. Her calling Sandoval a "dog murderer" and telling everyone he wears dirty underwear may have been the tipping point for me because at this point she's just making shit up, if not blaming him for everything bad in her life.

I will say that Meryl Streep, and Martin Scorsese watch the HWs too next time my husband exposes me to friends about watching the HWs although he has direct orders not to do it.

Oh I know there are a ton of huge stars who love Housewives! It makes me feel better about my Bravo addiction. But the average person who doesn't watch Bravo probably wouldn't know most of the people on the network. NonBravo watchers usually only know people like Denise Richards.

I'm happy for her, but MAN, I think the cast is going to turn doubly hard on her next season because her success is costing them money now since they won't be on the same filming schedule due to her other obligations.  I love it for the Toms, but I can understand why the other will be frustrated.  (Not that I think she shouldn't take these other jobs, but I think even I would grow resentful if my work schedule revolved around one of my friends.)

I watched some of “Love Island,” a previous season. It’s difficult for me, a reality TV show junkie, to get through. It’s slow. The women are hyper giddy. The camera people and the women looooove thongs. The women love jiggling their buttocks over and over again.

I watched some of the new season. Ariana did a good job. But again, I am wondering why she loves this show so much. They really needlessly draw out every moment. And it’s great that they booked her and are paying her to host. But is hosting “Love Island” a get? She seems to be following their script. With suggested inflections. Not much improvising, if any at all. They could replace the host with AI, and no one would notice.

Interesting note, Ariana actually loves the UK version of the show, which is amazing. The comment she made about watching was in reference to that version. It streams on Hulu on a 1-2 week delay but diehards typically watch in real time via VPN.

The US version is trash. Not because the format is much different, more because the contestants are exactly as you've described.

I’m very proud of Ariana’s success. Being on Broadway in particular is phenomenal! But it’s true these highly-paid coveted jobs won’t last forever. Her Bic commercial left me feeling the same way. I think technically she is pretty good. But she doesn’t make me think that the words or emotions are hers. This is my first season watching so I have nothing compare it to but I'm enjoying it as mindless television that so far has made me laugh.  I did see a lot of fans are trashing the UK version of the show this season and are liking the US version more. I still don't quite understand Love Island, its purpose, the rules, how it goes - why it exists? - but I can't look away. That said, Ariana is really, really good at this. This show might be weirdo fluff, but wow she's great as a host. And I know she's had some great things happening lately (IT'S ALL HAPPENING, SCHEANA!) and that a year away from the worm with a mustache can't be anything but good, but I feel like EVERY pic I see of Ariana lately she just looks so damn happy. The clothing is wild. I don’t think a single one of my friends wears a thong. Twenty-five years ago, Victoria’s Secret was running a sale, so I purchased about five pairs, and tried to wear them. Some women would tell me, “I wear them, because they are so comfortable!”
 

They are not.

Somehow the producers found dozens of women who only wear thongs and thong swimsuits. 
 

Did you see Liv’s black band top? At least her chest is smaller than Hannah’s.

Then the guy with the overalls. A green contrast zipper at the top of the bib. He didn’t seem to be wearing them in an ironic way, either.

Ariana looks radiant, confident and happy. She started out in the earlier seasons of VPR looking dour and smug.

I think when Ariana came on VPR she was smug - but I never saw her as dour. She was brought on the show to be Scheana's friend - I wonder if Scheana is trying to build a time machine to make some different decisions? 😅

I've always been an Ariana fan so I've been tuning into LI to make my small contribution to her ratings. Not gonna lie: I'm really loving it! I've been reading on the LI reddit sub that they made many improvements this year and that Ariana is a much better host than the last one, in part because she is such a fan. Her reactions when the last two bombshells made their appearance were so much fun to watch. They've also said the contestants are better.

The girls do major makeup. It's bizarre to me because I'm a major skincare girl. Can't imagine wearing all of that in the heat, but they are piling it on like it's their job. One girl, Hannah, has apparently never heard of setting spray (I hadn't either), so her makeup is always rubbing off onto people's clothing and faces.

Ariana looks amazing on this show!  I mean, she’s always been pretty, but the way she’s styled here is 🔥🔥🔥 and I loved that when she showed up on ‘lingerie  night’ the contestants saw her from afar and thought another bombshell had entered the villa 😂😂

I am actually glad that Rob offered himself to Andrea at the fire pit proceeding. Leah was getting on my nerves. He was right; she was being very self-absorbed. If she sometimes doesn’t listen and cuts him off — when he is a man of few words — that’s just wrong. Confirmed when she mouthed F you to him.

They used texts instead of Ariana this time. I wonder why. Her lingerie look was kind of weird. Sexy, but weird. 

Iain’s commentary was better in this episode. I liked the, “They got dolled up to spend the afternoon in the garden. Now they’re going upstairs to get dolled up to spend the evening in the garden.”

I like that they don’t get intoxicated. 
 

I was impressed that Rob knew that Andrea’s dress was crochet.
