It was someone else's home to flip but they hired Chad to do the work and hired Erin to do some design and decorating.  It was early on in their marriage.  They showed it on the show.  I thought they were going to start making themselves available to these services or do their own flipping.  But it was never mentioned again.

And yes, with today's home prices, flipping is pretty much impossible.

I bet that was all mostly a storyline for the show.

I wonder if Jana Duggar realizes how lucky she is that Chad fell for Princess Erin? Sure Jana had to wait for Stephen to come into her life, but it appears he has a real job. He also seems to like home projects that they do together. Who knows how many kids Jana would have by now if she’d married Chad all those years ago. And Chad looks about 20 years older than he is.

My parents grew up on farms. It's hard work and not cutesy at all.

No, and it never was!

If I could like both of these posts a million times I would. Farming is hard work.  My dad's grandparents and uncles were all farmers. He helped out with the harvest every year with his siblings and cousins. They worked so hard. I could never do it but I'm really glad the are people who can. And love it.

Erin's participation was completely for the show. She wandered around saying "designer" things. She's not a designer. She decorates. Throwing a throw pillow into a room or putting some books on a shelf (backwards) isn't design. I remember that episode. She wandered around an empty house and said what she would paint or what she would leave the way it was in the first place. The other story was Zach and Whitney (who was trying to show she was still in real estate) renovating their first house purchase. Whitney threw our real estate phrases like checking the comps and resale value.

Kelly must've strong-armed one of Gil's church members into giving them a house. How long were they down in Florida? Two years at most?

I think a year or year and a half at most. ETA: Not even a year yet, on second thought.

Kelly strong-arming anyone would require some effort on her part. My guess is some "sweet friend" felt sorry for the kids and put out the word to get them some help.

Looking back in this thread. they moved at the end of December 2022; so a little over a year and a half.  I glanced at a couple of posts from around then, and, in her post announcing the news, Erin says they might be staying only a year or two.  When they left, they said something about working with their new church.  Maybe Chad was involved in some sort of renovation or building project at the church that is now complete?

Didn't they say their lease was up later this year? They implied November/December. Isn't that about the same time they moved down there?

All that to say, I think they were on an annual lease.

I looked it up a week or two ago; they moved at the end of December, so it is very likely their lease is expiring soon.  I wonder if they'll even bother returning to Florida for the month or two until that happens.

Does anyone remember where Chad and Erin finally settled in Florida? Was it near Brooksville? I am not surprised that they are back in TN. I never thought Erin wanted to leave her family. Hurricane Milton affected my area so Erin came to mind with all of those farm animals and all, children to keep safe, without a TV for visual info, like maps, etc how did they stay informed about this storm? Sometimes having a good TV is needed and it's not "so evil", right?

If I'm not mistaken, they were in the DeLand area. Not sure if it's that specific city, but that's where their church is.

Isn’t half or at least a bunch of “her” family also in Florida?

Sister Alyssa and brother Jackson are in the Orlando area. It doesn't appear that Alyssa evacuated. No clue about Jackson; his SM is virtually non existent.

Alyssa and Jackson both didn't evacuate. Alyssa was posting about how she had a generator so NBD, she was getting her coffee, they even had AC at night, they just couldn't run their oven. Lol I don't see her as the type that's baking her own bread or roasting her own chicken daily. And one night while power was out, she said that Jackson and his brother in law came over and BBQed for them - so he was in town too.

Did Erin and family return to Florida? Don't they have to move out of the Florida home pretty soon? Wonder what they will do with all of the animals that they have collected.

I believed they hauled some of them down there so if they find a place with land they’ll either bring them to TN or sell them before they leave FL.

I don't know if you guys have been keeping up with the Paines, but wow, what a hot ass mess.

Per their latest video, they have to leave their rental in the next few weeks and have no place to go. They didn't state that explicitly but it was heavily implied. Erin said they haven't talked much about the move because they haven't "finalized all the details" (despite having months to figure it out). The pretty obvious translation is they were hoping someone would come through with a free house, and it didn't happen. They're going to Tennessee for Christmas, so they'll probably be crashing at Kelly's until she can guilt a rental out of some church friend.

It's mind boggling to think Chad is pushing 40 and has his family living like this. He needs to get his head out of his ass and realize prayer cards and doodles can't support a family of eight. Get a damn job, or two.

Jesus we're following her idiot sister eating pancakes in Dubai. But reality is so many of these people want to live like 22 yr old college kids. Oh the kid I was subletting my apt from is coming back from study abroad and brought his gf so I can't live there anymore oh ok well guess I'll go crash with mom for Christmas and then couch surf with some friends back on campus and see what opens up next semester. Uh hello Chad you are 37 with SIX kids, you're not 22 and single. And bc you are the owner of the penis in this family, you must provide and yeah that includes "distractions" (his words - that anything that isn't prayer and God is a distraction) like housing. And if you knew you could not or did not want to do that, then you should've let your wife continue to be a #bossbabe like Carlin and Whit. Yeah they're too worldly but ultimately it's their child exploitation on YT that keeps their boutique going and brings in IG income - your wife wanted to do that no, but as the penis owner you vetoed that and made her leave to live your godly path.

I imagine Kelly is working the network now for some sweet church friend to come up with a house. But uh this is a family of EIGHT. The church friend houses are the cottage they lived in before or the duplex where Trace/his wife live now, where C&E lived before with 1 kid or the trailer that Bobby lived in when he moved to town before marrying Tori. I guess a church friend will come up with an option like that and they'll have no choice but to squash 8 people in a 2 bed and gush about how organized Erin is and space doesn't matter, it's about God and love. But yeah it's unlikely any church friend is offering up a 3 bed+ home or apartment to these people for free or for a few hundred nominal dollars/mo. I know they're divorced from reality but prices of everything are up these days. If you happen to own a rental home/apt. you are trying to make money on that - beyond your mortgage payment - bc that extra money will only help your daily life.

If some time goes by and they aren't able to secure free/nearly free housing in Knox, I wouldn't be surprised if they're off to Oklahoma under the guise of - it's God's will that our kids know their other grandparents better - or to SC under the guise of - God laid it on our hearts to move in with Bill and Jane and care for them.

Any mention of what they are doing with all their animals? Or is God going to lay that on Chad’s heart too?

No mention. Everyone on Reddit thinks they're angling to land at Bill and Jane's. That would allow them to keep the animals, but I'm not so sure Jane wants to live with six children. They left their pigs when they moved from TN, so I imagine they'll have to ditch the goats when they leave FL. It's honestly quite selfish of them to keep acquiring animals when they don't own property. A dog or cat is one thing, but it's not like you can just move anywhere with a herd of livestock.

These two are never going to face reality are they? No matter how many times it smacks them in the face. They ignore it and continue on. Get a damn job, Chad.  A real job so that you can afford a place to live. And Erin if that's what's it takes.  Stop relying on sweet friends. Get off your asses and it done. It's ridiculous.

Well said.  I can’t believe that I used to think that Chad was a good father/husband.

I don’t disagree with the rest of your post, but child exploitation is not an answer to their problems.

THIS is the answer, NOT child exploitation.

This. If Jana Duggar really had her eye on Chad back in the day, she's probably thanking Jeebus that she dodged that bullet. She has a husband with a JOB, had a nice wedding without a visit from and cake for Bill G and likely won't have 6 children!

i wonder if Chad has ever thought about going to work for Kelton and learning to be a plumber. He is not too old to learn a trade. When pretty boy Bobby failed at church ministry Kelton took him under his wing and gave him a job. The partnership seems to have worked out well for both. Kelton's company has grown from one truck to a thriving business. According to the website they are always looking to hire and the company provides training, health. insurance and 401K plans. But Chad would have to back away from the prayer card business and actually go to a job every day. I don't know if he has it in him.

This was my thought too.  How awful to have 6 kids, know you have to move by the end of this month and don't have plans yet.  I sure hope they are just acting coy about their plans because they don't want to disclose them yet.  This move to FL didn't really serve them well, did it.  I do think Kelly is hounding church people to help find them a home to rent while Erin continues to try and get her way to Papa Bill and Mama Jane's ranch.

If the BatesSistersBoutique is doing as well as Whitney, Zach, Carlin and Evan make it seem, then Erin is probably kicking herself for leaving.
