When do we know if Arrow will get a S7?

Officially February. Unofficially it's getting a S7, look at the rest of the network

CW renews shows with 0.3s and it can't launch a new show that does better than Arrow anyway. Arrow, SPN, Supergirl, LoT, Riverdale will all get renewals.

Thanks @Morrigan2575

What numbers do they look at before cancelling?

Or do they cancel shows that have gone on for too long and have falling ratings? I didn't pay attention to what Vampire Diaries was getting before they announced it's last season.

With the CW, who knows? Traditionally networks look at the 18-49 demo, CW used to look at 18-34W (under Dawn O). According to Mark Pedowitz and MG the CW doesn't just look at Live Numbers. They look at Streaming and Live+7.  Honestly, I'm not worried about Arrow or SPN. Those shows will end when SA and the J's decide they're done.

According to this chart, TVD was still pulling 0,5's and 0,6's in A18-49 before the CW moved the show to Fridays. After that, ratings dropped all the way down to 0,3's.

I'm amazed at how popular Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon are with adults 50+.  50 is too young to be in the old fogey camp.

It's because it's on CBS. I swear there are millions of Nielsen boxes that are jammed and forever stuck on CBS. The 50+ crew will watch just about anything on CBS.

Unrounded finals for last week from RJK at SpottedRatings (this says Nov. 6-10, but I checked and they're not the same numbers as were posted last week now corrected).

Supernatural .................... 0.659 .... 1.04* ...
Legends of Tomorrow ...... 0.545 .... 0.89 ...
Riverdale .......................... 0.499 .... 0.87 ...
Supergirl ........................... 0.497 .... 0.78 ...

Valor ................................. 0.191 .... 0.27 ...
Dynasty ............................ 0.169 .... 0.22 ...

*season high

I know Dynasty has been pre-sold, and that's why it's being kept, but the closer it inches to a 0.1, the harder I find it to believe that they will leave it on Wednesdays.

Cancel Bear vs. The CW, week 8: ‘Arrow’ will be OK, but it sure is aging

The Bear will stipulate up front that “Arrow” is probably not going anywhere. It’s very unlikely The CW will pull the plug on its first DC Comics series this season.

But.

The show is clearly showing some age as it plays out its sixth season. Ratings have dropped about 17 percent this season vs. last — and last season’s numbers were down 33 percent from the season before that. That is not a good trend line.

As the Bear said, there’s little reason to think “Arrow” is going anywhere in the near term. But its numbers suggest the show is clearly closer to the end of its life than it is to the beginning.

Legends passed Supergirl and Riverdale in the demos. That's interesting.

Yeah, I'm curious if that was just a one-off or a permanent changing of the guard. Supergirl has been an interesting case in general, too. It's total viewership has grown every week since episode 2, but it just can't get over the hump in A18-49.

Yes, season 6 is closer to season 7 or even in a best case scenario, season 9, than it is to season 1. No wonder TVGrimreaper makes fun of Cancellation Bear all the time.

Yeah, those numbers are not too far off their regular numbers, actually. Plus Nielsen isn't even including this week in it survey.

And where they needed to be in order to be good news for the CW - that is, anything around or over .3/1.1 million views in that particular timeslot, which historically has been a terrible timeslot for the CW.

Given the Thursday box office estimates that just landed, those numbers actually have to be a bit of a relief for the WB.
