Great pic and I know what you mean about Greg and Kassie.  Maybe if they actually put Greg with someone he had some chemistry with his character might take off.

And OF COURSE Hammy Matt gets his mug in the picture - and a picture with folks he's never acted with.  I wonder if he called another press conference to announce that no-one has contacted him about joining DOOL the way he announced that no-one wants him on Y&R.

I'd call him a tool but a tool actually DOES something.

Thong-ridden hack.

Hmm....seems I don't like the guy....

I think that photo was part of a large montage of photos of soap actors supposedly showing dramatic faces.  I think Cameron Mathison was in every one of them.

I don't want to rumour-monger, but there had to be more that went on BTS for TPTB to still be holding a grudge about CM. And it did not seem like the Days crowd was that amped about Chandler's win compared to the others.

SOMEbody was running around and high fiving people when Chandler's name was mentioned, and it looked like Arianne Zimmer, though it was hard to tell, and he hugged somebody coming down and I thought it was Freddie Smith.

She definitely looked different from the first actress cast as Stephanie Johnson, although she played the role longer. If I recall correctly, the first actress didn't play it for very long so I can't imagine that people were that attached the first girl.  I personally had a had time seeing her as Steve and Kayla's daughter, both in looks and in personality.  But I'd think that is the fault of the writers for not putting more consideration into the character when they developed her as an adult.

It wasn't Shelley Hennig's fault that when she came on Stephanie changed from a cool redhead who drove racecars to a drippy clinger who considered oopsing Nathan Horton and was pitted against new redhead Melanie. But it always makes me cringe when I hear about fans taking it out on actors. We should all be taking it out on Ken Corday instead.

I know, sunnyheart. I keep scrolling up to look at that picture and going "who is that guy? He looks fascinating."

Kassie and Greg on the red carpet were rather adorable, too. (Presuming you could deal with those wretched 'hosts' because I could really only take so much.) It's like, if you let them be in a room together and allow Eric to breathe rather than constantly focus on the priest aspect. If I had my way... they'd finish out these current plots, Eve and the Jen crap (and unfortunately Daniel as well) as Eric deals with Nicole and the church.

I'd have the church keep him excommunicated and have Eric get real jaded over that... the fact that he was a victim and the church turns it's back on him would make him reevaluate things. I'd like to think he'd want to live his life better than the church, really take the time to listen and forgive and care about those in need. And then he and Eve can strike up a friendship, she listens to him, he listens to her... that sort of thing, let him get comfortable with her. Let's see the guy laugh, dammit. I'd build it up that way.

But that's me. They're too pretty together to not give it a go.

Anybody else have problems today?  I had to sign in for the first time since April and was unable to reset my password because the system didn't recognize my username?  Then of course when I try to start an account with my username it's recognized as taken. The only way I got in was by signing in with FB and I hate that because now all of my information, as narrowly as I try to keep it, is shared.

Lurker popping in to ask.... are my eyes playing tricks on me, or was that James Read I saw on my TV screen today?

I'm a bit out of the loop, as I haven't watched any episodes since around the time that Nick was shot... and I was only half paying attention to today's episode.

But if James Read is on board, I just might have a reason to start watching again!

Yes, it was (I checked IMDB). He's playing a terrible character that I expect to end up murdered by one of his equally terrible children, or Rafe (who's in love with one of said children). So don't get your hopes up that he'll stick around for too long.

Thanks!

I love James Read, but didn't want to get my hopes up when I thought it might be him.

I got the gist that his character isn't quite so nice... but had no clue what his story is. Too bad he probably won't be around long, he would be a great asset as a regular character if they gave him the right role!

Now I guess I'll have to start watching again and see what happens.

Darn you, Days of our lives! Every time I try to quit you, you find a way to suck me back in!

I have to wonder how Days, shooting so far in advance, is able to pad their schedule for days like today when they get pre-empted by news.  How do they specifically manage to schedule their Christmas show when they're shooting in August, yet leave enough room in case something like today's news prevents the regular show from airing?  How do they catch up?

Oh brother! I ran into a former DOOL castmate who told me that all Corday gives a damn about is writing the music for the show, doesn't give two craps about the plotline (obvi) so him at the helm of another soap? Just stop! I smell the burning fires of a train wreck in the distance.

At least Chappell is involved, someone who actually has a damn interest and cares about what they're doing.

Also, glad to see Shelley Hennig doing so well. I was bummed Secret Circle was cancelled because she was another character thrown under the bus for the likes of Melanie. There's a whole.cemetery of characters starting with Nick and ending somewhere around Gabby and Chad that were sacrificed at the alter of that giggling moron. *sigh* Reminds me of the Chucky doll. Bitter.

It also explains why the music is so WTF - it's a vanity project for the producer. Who is gonna tell him that it sucks?  It is seriously jarring sometimes -the music on Days often takes me right out of the scene because it's so weird.

NBC has announced that several of their affiliates are going to be moving Days in the fall when the "Meredith Vierra Show" starts running.  There's no list of which stations will be changing it.

Oh for crying out loud, not another talk show!  I get that it's cheap to produce, but even the over-rated Katie Couric couldn't make it successful.  I'm betting that it will be cancelled within the year.

Happy trails beyond Small Talk!

Talk about a Game Show Flashback. This morning on GSN I watched All Star Super Password. John Aniston & Peggy McCay from DOOL played against Linda Dano & Kale Brown from AW. John & Peggy are absolutely stunning. I'm assuming this is around the late 80's. John looks like a Clark Gable. I'm guessing he's in 50's here. Also, Linda Dano has huge shoulder pads. Shocker! LOL!!!! So 80's & so much fun, too.

Obviously no one is watching all of these damn talk shows since they keep getting cancelled so maybe someone should take the hint.

They're too stupid to take the hint. Network is run by drones, they just keep pressing the same button until it explodes. Remember they had the horror phase, the teen phase, the vampire phase, now the talk-show phase. They'd be better off resurrecting a soap opera. Idiots.
