KenyaJ April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 I hated what happened in the last act, even though I could see it coming from a mile away. But the look on Josh's face when Rebecca confessed totally won me back, and the very end literally make me shriek with laughter. I can't wait for Season Two. 1 Link to comment
FurryFury April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 (edited) I kinda hate Josh for his behavior and wishy-washiness. But I don't think it will last that long, the show doesn't try to sell them as the OTP, thankfully. Edited April 19, 2016 by FurryFury Link to comment

I skipped reading the books (every once and a while I refuse to follow the crowd merely because there is a crowd) and still ended up shipping Harry and Hermione. I appreciated greatly that J K Rowling has been quoted as saying she should have paired Harry with Hermione. In some AU that the Flash will one day run to, that's exactly what happened. ;) Link to comment
Mellowyellow April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 I remember when Order of the Phoenix was released hubby (then boyfriend) read it after me and made notes about all shippy things related to Harry and Hermione so we could discuss the ship. Lol 13 years later he watches season 3 of Arrow and tells me he would have run off with Ray if he were Felicity!!! Avid Ray shipper that one! Thought Ray was wonderful! I got so invested in the HP relationships, and yes I was really confused when Jo didn't go with Hermione and Harry. I shipped so much. manbearpig April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 One of the things I miss most about the Harry Potter series is the anticipation between books. I was so utterly invested in everything that was happening that waiting for the next one was always hellish. Staying up super late to read them are some of my favourite childhood memories to be honest, even if I did get into them rather late! I believe I was only able to read the last two when they came out, but zipping through the first five when I did pick them up was a lot of fun. 1 Link to comment
catrox14 April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 re: Cassandra and her hair. Hair is a very personal thing. I wore my hair long for years. It was what my family expected. Girls had long hair. That was like a thing. Right or wrong it was what it was. It's what my boyfriends liked. It was remarked on by many people, my classmates, my family. It was a thing. Finally in college I decided to cut it and I kid you not, even though I wanted to do it, it was still distressing. It wasn't an extreme change but it was enough that it was remarked on by others like it was a huge deal, which stressed me out even more. I think in this case it did stress her out and she probably did play it up a bit for reality TV. I guess what I'm saying is that when it comes to hair and breasts with women I don't judge how people will react to changing those things suddenly. Right or wrong much of women's identities are wrapped in those two "markers" of feminity. So yeah, her reaction might have been OTT but I get it. 7 Link to comment
Chaser April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 I never got Harry/Hermione. I was surprised when I found out that there was such a strong shipping element because I didn't see it in the books. The movies I understand, both chemistry wise between the actors and the changes they made to Ron and Hermione. I enjoyed Harry and Ginny. I was so disappointed in movie Ginny. There was no chemistry between the actors and they put no effort in the pairing. 4 Link to comment

Danny Franks April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 I'll be very surprised if the Castle ratings don't keep falling next season. A lot of people gave up with the Castle/Beckett separation. Nathan Fillion mugging is not enough to get me to watch. So what is the point of saving on Stana Katic's salary if fewer people are going to watch? They should just let the show die now and leave us good memories. I cannot believe they are seriously going to have Castle continue without Beckett. Now I'm not one of those 'Stanatics' who thinks she's a flawless goddess or whatever, but the heart and soul of that show has always been the relationship between the two lead characters. The procedural stuff was shit, the side characters were never developed beyond caricatures, there was near to no emotional depth in anything, past season 2. And I gave up watching completely towards the end of season 6. But killing off Beckett or having her leave forever, while Castle pursues a new love? That is simply not going to work. At all. More exec and showrunner arrogance at the expense of fans, by the sound of it. There's a lot of that going around.... 4 Link to comment
Starfish35 April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 (edited) Apparently there was some truth to those rumors of trouble between Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic. The Fillion-Katic on-set relationship has been a difficult one, with multiple sources indicating that there had been friction between the two for years. I hear last season, the leads only filmed together two days a week per a clause Fillion had requested in his contract. http://deadline.com/2016/04/stana-katik-castle-exit-nathan-fillion-reaction-molly-quinn-1201740245/ The breakup [in this season's premiere] also arrived after sources told THR that Katic had been unhappy for some time and after repeated clashes between the actress and Fillion. As for the remainder of the cast, sources say Fillion would not return to Castle without co-stars Jon Huertas (Esposito) and Seamus Dever (Ryan). Huertas noted on Twitter that neither has been asked to return yet. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/castle-stana-katic-exit-season-885130I wish they'd cut their losses and ended it after season seven. :( Edited April 19, 2016 by Starfish35 Link to comment
FurryFury April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 I remember there being stories about Gillian Andersen and David Duchovny hating each other on X-Files, too, and they seem to pretty tight right now, so I'm not sure I should put much stock into gossip. Anyway, if the show's next season is the final one, what's the point of doing all of this? It's just weird. Link to comment
Carrie Ann April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 DD and GA have both talked about the tension between them during certain seasons of TXF, so it wasn't just baseless gossip. They've really only become friends (very adorably) in recent years. That doesn't say anything one way or the other about the Castle situation, but I don't think anyone has tried very hard to deny it over there either. 5 Link to comment
Danny Franks April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 Sounds like the smart thing to do would be to let the show end. Just give the remaining fans what they want, and put it out to pasture. Clinging on to ever diminishing returns is sad. 1 Link to comment
NumberCruncher April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 I don't think the DD/GA tension was as serious as some make it out to be. Gillian has stated several times over the years that it was the typical annoyance you get being around the same people for hours on end when everyone is tired and cranky and not because they hated each other. Seems like most of her angst was largely driven by the behind-the-scenes political drama in how TPTB treated David versus her when it came to cast billing and most importantly--salary. Regardless, it never was a situation where they couldn't stand to work together. When Duchovny left, it was because he was ready to move on and so was Anderson, but TPTB wouldn't let her out of her contract. I don't really follow all of the Katic/Fillion drama but from what I have heard, it sounds like they really despise each other so I don't really see the Anderson/Duchovny tension as comparable. 2 Link to comment
Sakura12 April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 With Castle I only really liked the humorous episodes. Like when Castle dressed up as a Space Cowboy for Halloween or when they went to a fake Star Trek convention. It's when they tried to be a serious procedural that I rolled my eyes because everything would go back to normal the next episode. That show was all over the place. I basically think it only survived because of Caskett. 1 Link to comment

Sakura12 April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 Was SK fired or did she make it known she wanted to leave? She took a long time to sign her 1 year contract for this season. Sasha April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 I remember a blind item years ago about a lead male actor who had finally had enough of the female lead treating the crew like dirt and read her the riot act. Chaser April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 I think if it was a mutual decision between Katic and the show they would have made it known. Citing budgetary reasons just sounds like BS. Becket is a huge character, if they were just looking at saving money why not drop Alexis and Martha down to recurring or ship Alexis off to her own life, etc? It seems like more than just budgetary. 2 Link to comment

But I also recall a story about Fillion and Katic dating for a bit, early in the show's run, then not getting along afterwards. Considering how friendly and flirty they seemed in those first season interviews that they did together, I can believe it. Obviously things soured significantly after that. I like Nathan Fillion, but if he's trying to keep the show going without Katic, then he's a bit of a fool. Perhaps one who has let his ego get the best of him. He isn't the only draw, just because he's the title character. The idea that they could let the co-lead go for ' budgetary reasons' is laughable and simply not credible. Link to comment

Danny Franks April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 (edited) If this is true, what a whiny little pissbaby he is. As I've said, I like Nathan Fillion. But he has always struck me as a big manchild who likes to have an easy life. He never appears to be interested in the 'hard' stuff. I remember him saying once that workign on Castle was a doddle, that he never had to stretch himself for anything he was asked to do, and it seemed like he liked it that way. He certainly never seemed like he was interested in doing the work needed to maintain the physique you'd expect of a leading man, which has long been a point of discussion for Castle fans. Some growing up to do, I reckon. Edited April 19, 2016 by Danny Franks Link to comment

Carrie Ann April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 (edited) Also Buffy. There is no single character or relationship or team configuration or season on Angel that I love as much as my favorites on Buffy (for the record: Giles; Buffy/Giles; Original Scooby Gang; S3--and those are just my very favorites, even my second faves are on BtVS, not Angel).
