Firstly, you're all correct that "Boxers" refers to the sport and RP's fondness for it. With regard to the reference to "Briefs", my thinking was of the hosts being briefed before the show, thus, during Hot Topics, RP could be discussing either boxers (as she likes) or the actual "briefs" they were to be focused upon, not to mention that it does complete the pun, if you will.
