Okay, but only because my pal swtrgrl said so.

Hee. If he's given even mediocre material, Jordi will prove me right.

Oh, chile, she's Heather Tom levels of good. Did you hear from her fans?

Oh good lord, no. Just...no. Kate Mansi shouldn't eat brunch at the same location as Heather Tom much less be compared to her wrt acting skill.

And regarding Guy Wilson, he's pretty much the only version of Will I'm familiar with because I think Chandler Massey was leaving just as I was starting to watch Days so I'm not really familiar with him. And I think he's okay but I felt Freddie Smith was a stronger actor than he was. And as horrible as Will was, I don't think he deserved to die at all. And he sure as hell wasn't irredeemable, at least compared to so many people on this dang show.

Guy Wilson is not to blame for what was on our screen. Will was suddenly written as a spineless whiny weakling and it was disgusting. Guy is talented. This was not his fault at all.

I love Chandler always. He's talented and funny...and he's a decent dude.

I like Freddie and I like Sonny but I'm not on the "Freddie is a great actor" train. He's good. He's just not...GOOD. My opinion, of course. Or you know, I haven't seen him in the right vehicle for him to show his talent.

Much like Christopher Sean is good on the show but he's not "good." That's writing. He's AMAZING as Gabriel on H50. It's the character/writing a lot of times.

Lawd, call 911, call SWAT, call Homeland Security... hell, call EVERYBODY! because gawd help me I enjoyed that Abigail-centric episode. No, Abigail can never be mistaken for Kim Zimmer (Reva GL), Kassia or Ari Zucker and that fireplace poker performance made me cringe but it was a good atmospheric suspenseful episode.  Than again maybe I am just

feeling generous because I know the end is neigh for the Abigail character.

Kate Mansi does slightly better with crazy than ... well, everything else, but I wouldn't advice her to write any acceptance speeches or clear her trophy mantle.

If this is going where I think it is going  (Abigail loses her marbles) than I think this is a better way to

send Kate on her merry way rather than having her presumed dead or in a coma.

This is slightly more original story and she does have mental illness in her family so there is some history there. I do wonder if this is why the show axed the Eve gaslights Jen into mental illness. Did they decide to make Abby crazy pants instead? It would have been nice if the writers had played the beats properly directly after Abigail was freed from Ben's clutches. Instead, she is basically making moon eyes and having sex with Chad days after giving birth and engaged weeks after without showing any real side effects from her ordeal.

Abigail with the gun reminded me of a Golden Girls episode, but than again what doesn't. Rose, after being frightened by crime buys a gun and in the middle of the night mistakes Blanche and her date for a criminal and shoots but misses and hits a vase. Sophie says: "I manage to live 80, 81 years. I survive pneumonia, two operations, a stroke. One night I'll belch and Stable Mable here will blow my head off!"  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unWBr88wytc

Count me in with whoever said that it made no sense that Chad and JJ were constantly leaving Abby alone with the baby but I guess she needed to be alone to look as nuts to the audience as she is.

Days must be saving money on the electric bill by not turning on the lights and not having to buy light bulbs. I don't think I have ever seen a blackout featured on any show where it was so ridiculously dark. I did lend a sense of realism but for some parts I literally could hardly see shit and had to adjust my tv. Also, agree that how can the DiMera mansion not have generators? That could have provided some atmospheric lighting. Also, if there is any kind of electronic security it would have been knocked out because there was no power so basically it is open season for any robber or would be assassin if they could cut the power.  I really want to know the extent of security at the mansion.

And actually, I think Theresa & Brady have some pretty decent, good chemistry & although bizarre I always found their dynamic fascinating. I think Theresa actually helps elevate Brady as a character because as much as I'd hate to admit it Brady's kind of weak as a character & I like the idea of Theresa being the brains of the relationship especially because Brady's a dumbass anyway. I think it might not hurt to have Brady be given more of an edge and he & Theresa can be a darker, sexier, adventurous power couple, with each of them encouraging their passionate, wild side but also bringing out their softer sides. For all of their flaws as a couple I think they still have some potential to be something greater.

I thumbed up your post, but I have to disagree with this. They could pair EM's Brady with Stephen Hawking and that still wouldn't elevate his character. His character has just always been to me 200 lbs of brawn and 1/4 ounce of brains and I am being generous with the 1/4 ounce figure. I've often wondered if he was miscast as Brady and if he would have made a better Eric. I've always wanted him and Greg Vaughan to switch roles. At the heart of it, I've never cared for EM. I know many would consider him handsome, but I hate how overly groomed he is. He has always reminded me of a strip mall Chippendale dancer who does gay for pay porn on the side.

As for Jen Lilley's Theresa, I think she is a great actress and the fault, like most things about Days, lays with the writers. I just never understood her and the character made no damn sense based on her background. I've said this more times than I should but her father is mega wealthy Shane and she came on the show as basically a golddigger who acted like she had grown up on welfare, food stamps in Section 8 housing and never known the good things in life. I mean the girl was dreaming about having walk in closets like it was something she never was exposed to or had in her whole life!  How can that be? So for me her motivation had me going huh? given her parentage. Most upper middle class people have walk in closets somewhere in the house. Plus, it was such an easy fix. The writers could have just written in that Shane had cut her off years ago based on her behavior or he went broke and she just wanted what she had in the past. Easy peasy.

Unfortunately, the rancid piece of subhuman disease riddled trash of a character is being recast. TPTP are currently looking for a new actress.

I always hated that characterization of Theresa. Have the writers forgotten that Shane is of British aristocracy and that Bo and Hope had their first magical wedding at his house;the Donovan estate in England....Plus, Theresa and Andrew spent time over there, so Theresa is used to luxury.  She also spent a time of  her childhood at the Dimera mansion with her parents..She should look down on the Kiriakis because of the dubious ways that they have acquired their wealth over the years...Victor's awful history with her mother should play a role in her dislike of the Kiriakis..They should have made her a spoiled party girl who has a penchant for trouble like Kim with the ingenuity of Shane to get herself out of her own mess...I also wish that the show would have go back to the name Jeannie. Kim named her  after Shane's mother..His mom gave Shane a cameo that he was to give to the woman that he would love for life..It is why he gave it to Kim when they fell in love.. Jeannie's cameo meant so much to Kim that Emma made a blind Kim crawl through broken glass to get it back...

Plus, where the hell is Andrew Shawn Donovan...He should be on the show...it is very glaring that he has never been back..He was such a mini Shane as a kid..He was beloved by his big sister Eve and was so protective of Jeannie....

So I still have no clue why Chad was wandering through the foundations of the mansion, but boy was it fun to see Abby shrieking at nothing. She's so useless though...Ben has her kid and she tells him the baby is Chad's?! He probably would have thrown him in the fireplace, if Ben was really there...

The engagement party lacked Anne - who would have helped Theresa cover for the missing ring - and I would have liked a line or two about Eric's absence. Clearly, dude is sick of Brady's engagements and weddings, and with good cause, but to see the whole family act like Eric is already off the show...weird.

Dario/Nicole bring Maggie home. Maggie almost falls on the couch. Nic suggests a doctor and Maggie turns it down.

Jarlena are dressed for Thrady engagement party.

Theresa is missing her ring.

Chad is scoping out the Andre hideout. Ben is holding TJ and Abifail is screaming for Chad.

Maggie apologizes for snapping at Nic, she claims she might be getting a Victor's cold. Maggie ask Nic why she won't be at the engagement party, Victor comes in asking what the hell Nic/Dario is doing in his house.

John questions if Theresa has changed. He claims he wants to be a real dad and he can suck it up to be a grandfather.

Theresa is on the floor looking for her ring.

Ben is just holding the plot point baby. Abifail tries to snatch her baby and he walks away from her. He claims Chad took his family away from him.

Chad is doing something in the hideout and

making noises trying to break in.

Theresa still on this floor searching for this ring.

Victor throws shade at Dario that he wouldn't hire him back as a janitor. Maggie tells him to hush.

Ben asks Abifail why hes living in the house of horrors and he will stop at nothing to save his son.

Phillip and Brady are having a war of words. Belle interrupts it..

Maggie and Victor are talking. Maggie is making excuses for Summer, Victor tells her Summer is trouble.

Abifail tells Ben they can go anywhere he wants to go. She calls the baby Thomas and Ben corrects her and calls him Collin. Abifail tells Ben he's not the father.

Nic and Dario are at THS. Dario is glad he doesn't work for Victor anymore. Nic said she doesn't want to go to the engagement party because of Daniel.

Maggie is asking for Victor's support about Summer. Victor said he won't be in the same room as the SheDevil (Theresa), Maggie convinces him to go to the party.

Jesus, Theresa still on this floor yall!!

Josh Griffith does not like him..He made him into a drunk...When Eric came back to the show, he was racked by nightmares from his time in Africa..The show never explored that angle to give him more depth and substance....A missed opportunity for a legacy character..Eric was supposed be the Anti-Sami, but he still had a devious side to him. He schemed with Carrie to expose Sami's villainy when she was going to marry Austin. He also schemed with Kristen to keep John and Marlena apart...He eventually came to his senses and stopped...

I find Theresa crawling on the floor looking for the ring kind of funny but why spend the whole episode doing that? It's so stupid!

I also had to chuckle at Theresa's comment that 40% of the family hates her. I'm sure it's more than that.

I understand that John doesn't like Theresa for good reason but my God why was he acting like he's being forced to go?! I liked Marlena asking John if he really wanted to come. Seriously, if he's so against the wedding he shouldn't bother showing. I doubt Theresa would care. Also I'm not entirely convinced John actually believes Theresa has changed. I'm also kind of annoyed that it seems like he's avoiding having to see Tate because of her. Grow up!

All in all, I found the whole scene not only interesting & very realistic too so it doesn't feel like the writers are trying to make people like Thrady by having everyone on board with the union. Also I found interesting parallels on how Maggie & Marlena seem to be supportive but John & Victor aren't.

I don't care for Theresa, but I think Jen Lilly is terrific. I think that in the hands of a less capable actress, the character would be unbearable. This is why I want her split from Brady. I think a lot of the character's vortex of suck is related to the Brady pairing. I would love to see where Teresa and by extension, Jen could go if given access to a different, more interesting and better acted orbit to revolve around.

I think it's really amusing that John and Victor have such a low opinion of Theresa but they same to think the sun shines out of Belle's ass--a woman who has cheated on her husband multiple times and who is hardly a moral paragon.  And I thought John was okay with Theresa when he saw how upset she was when the New Year's Eve car crash happened.

RSW's Ben was damn menacing but what the heck does it say about Abs when she has Ben telling her how horrible her life with Chad's going to be--AND ITS ALL IN HER OWN MIND??!!!

There are no words for how poor KM's acting is--I actually feel sorry for her--YIKES!!

John has never been a shining excellent example of parenthood anyhow. Hell, he doesn't even talk Brady and Belle it's usually Marlena and Victor who has raised his children. My favorite line was he said he would be a better father. Riiiiiight. You're children are in their 30s and early 40s. I think you're a little too late for cookies and milk hour, Jawn.

I hear drinking a bottle of bleach kills the voices in your head. Failure should try it.

Brady gets manipulated by the current woman in his life at least once a year, Belle is a piece of garbage, Eric killed a man while drunk and is neglected by his family, Sami is Sami, and Sparkle repeatedly begs married men to dump their husband for him and has probably been brainwashed. John (and Marlena) should't criticize anyone's parenting.

Jeannie is a name that is very important in the Shane/Kim love story.. When Theresa was born she was believed to not be Shane's...It was very bittersweet when Kim told Shane that her name would be Jeannie after his mother. Plus Kim had lost their first baby girl a few years ago protecting Eve from a john..

I was wondering why Jenn L was being punished, having to crawl around on that gross carpet. I hope Maggie didn't drop and lose the ring all over again? Having said that, though, she still glows in her scenes in my opinion. Brady's alternately amused and bemused by her, which is a good recipe for a rootable couple.

Kate Mansi had a few good moments, like when she was kind of helplessly pointing to the Ben apparition. ButI loved Billy Flynn's horrified tearfulness in the background at the very end. Once in a while it would be nice for a couple who are finally together to have more than a couple of weeks of smooth sailing. Oy. I feel bad in advance for Jennifer.

The only time Brady was edgy, sexy and dark was when he was with Kristen. And as someone who loved Broe, I enjoyed me some Bristen! Kristen/ED and EM/Brady just played that shit so well and I loved every minute of it.

It's always annoyed Brady (played by EM) is a Kiriakis and Black and lacks edge. They always have written him like loser in love, kind of emo and a dumbass. And since he's more connected to his Kiriakis side he should be always trying hocheck Phillip and Victor every chance he gets especially when it comes his place at Titan.

I also liked him when he embraced his Kiriakis side and buried Vivian alive...lol He was a hoot..I have never understood the Brady/Marlena dynamic, she is the only mother that he has ever known....Plus, Isabella asked her to take care of Brady in her absence and that included her beloved John...

Yep, Brady called Theresa Jeannie T. I thought it was adorable. I guess Griffstein is trying to give back her original name.

Jen Lilley must have pissed off someone badly that day for her to do that. On the other hand though I figured a lot of the Theresa haters would have gotten a kick out of her crawling on her hands & knees looking for her ring like that at the feet of Brady's family.

Theresa haters?  Nah, don't believe in 'em.  Urban legends, just like the Abominable Snowman and Republicans in San Francisco.  Nah.......

I don't think Show really wanted me to break out in laughter when Abigail was demanding Chad and JJ go tackle Angel Ollie.  Nope, not the effect I think they were going for.  And it looked like she really scared the baby with her screeching.  Or maybe the kid  caught a glimpse of her shoes.  The Wicked Witch of the West had more fashion sense.  She looked like was going to be entering a stripper nunnery with a pole dancing service right after Mass.

Too bad Theresa didn't stumble across another crowbar while she was down there searching for her missing ring.  A double whammy across Victor and Jawn's head would be an early wedding present.  Victor can stop with the "she's not good enough for my family" shit right now.  Has he LOOKED at his family lately??   With Bo gone, the only one worth a damn is Ciara and she seems to have the good sense to stay the hell away from her Kiriakis relations.

So if this was an engagement party, did the Brady invitations get lost?  No Caroline, at the very least?  She's at least someone who actually LIKES Theresa.  No Roman - I can see Kayla is a little tied up right now - but no Eric, either?  Or even a drop by from Hope?  Poor Theresa - that's a pretty grim group to be celebrating her engagement with.

And then there's Philip.....Lumpaleer was looking particularly craggy today, wasn't he?  And yet, his voice can out-falsetto Howdy Doody at the same time.  I think it's a little pot calling the kettle an idiot for Brady to give Philip a hard time, when neither one of them is fully housebroken yet.

Oh yeah, the Kiriakis/Black families are just soooooooooooooo much better than Theresa......puhhhhhhhleeeeze.........

How long before Belle and Philip are underneath a table having the best three minutes of their lives?

How long before Belle and Philip are underneath a table having the best three minutes of their lives?

You'd be surprised at how many there are. You might want to check out Twitter sometime, or even Facebook or any random message board to see what I meant by that. I remember going on Facebook the other day when Thrady got engaged and so many people were pissed.... some people were even begging for Melanie to come back & be with Brady. I can't believe some people actually believe they're meant to be. Um, no. Theresa is a lot more sophisticated & carries herself better than Melanie on a good day. Compared to her, Melanie tends to act childish. Besides, she's kind of young for Brady & I find it hard to believe that after being with someone like Kristen that Brady somehow would want to be with someone like her, especially for a guy as old as he is. I still believe Brady settled for Melanie by default only because she was the "safe option".

On the other hand though, I agree with your assessment on the Kiriakis clan. Philip is clearly an idiot and I'd never want Theresa anywhere near him, as unappealing & nasty looking as he is. I can't believe he's actually supposed to be in his 30s because he looks so much older than he is. Victor is a real asshole and 90% of the time I can't stand him because of the awful comments he makes towards Theresa and also his general treatment towards women. If only Brady knew the full story of what he did to Theresa's parents, especially her mom. I'd like for Theresa to whack Victor in the head with the firepoker just for her mom. Deimos is scum & I hate what he's doing to poor Maggie. And honestly Belle is such a bitch that she & Philip deserve each other. I was half-expecting Philip & Belle to start insulting Theresa in front of Brady.

I'm actually kind of sad no Brady actually attended the party. That really sucks. I'd like to see Eric interacting with Theresa again and I liked how much of a close relationship they used to have and how Eric tried his best to reach out to her when she needed it. I also would've liked to see Caroline there too. I think she would've been very supportive & happy for her granddaughter. Kayla would've been nice too but of course she needs to cover for her delinquent sociopathic son Joey.

Yeah the Black/Kiriakis clan is all kinds of screwed up. Paul is a homewrecker, Brady is a sex-addicted moron with a savior complex, and Belle is a harlot who is a horrible mother. Not to mention Eric is a bitter alcoholic who has committed manslaughter & could go away to prison for a long time. So yeah I think Theresa actually fits right in. And holy crap was John dissing Brady's parenting skills or what?! Seriously?! Say whatever you want about Brady, but when he's not focused on saving damsels in distress or looking for his next flavor of the week, he's actually been a pretty good dad. Perhaps better than John apparently.

So I take it Abby will be struggling with PTSD and/or postpartum psychosis.  I suspect she'll be sent to an institution and after two months off-screen, a recast will appear.  :\

Regarding Theresa hate, a year ago I saw a "fan" leave a comment on Jen Lilley's Instagram admonishing her for not being nice to another character.  I don't bother with other forums anymore because:

1. You must be part of the hive mind or you'll be banned (only say positive things or you're out!)

2. The diehard fans are frightening

3. No one can spell or write worth beans.

Thank heavens for this little hidden gem of a forum.

I second this.  I was so thankful when I found a board that was not full of Abby-love.  I now still read the comments on the Abby-love board, but then I come here and realize I'm not the only that feels the way I do.

I'm actually glad I found this forum too. It's getting to be a bit much with all of the hardcore fans out there online. I feel like Chabby is extremely overrated and I feel ill at the thought of pretty much everyone being so in love with that pairing. At least here I get some respite.

Anyways, I actually liked that we got that scene with Theresa because this show has been so dark lately and we're in serious need of comic relief. Also I'm not quite sure if I can stand another minute of that depressing crap with Abby & Ben. The only person I actually feel sorry for is Chad. Must be awful to know that you've married a woman with crazy issues.

I forgot to mention how menacing Paul looked as he sipped his drink behind the bar. Did anyone else notice? Guess the brainwashing took to some degree....hope it'll be fun to watch.

Good catch! I noticed that too. I hope if nothing else Paul gets good fight choreography. Did the actor ever fight on Hawaii 5.0?

Caroline at least deserved a mention. That's the silly thing...with a line or two of dialogue, they could have explained that Caroline was having a busy night at the Pub and that Brady still didn't feel comfortable around Eric, given their history. Or maybe Eric was just a no-show because he was wasted. Or maybe he was at an AA meeting.

Even though Kate Mansi has trouble acting her way out of a wet paper sack, I enjoyed the scenes with Ben as an expression of Abigail's subconscious mind.  Her breakdown actually makes sense, too, because of the way the show spends so little time dealing the emotional consequences of its many plot points.  But by that rule, more than half of the town should be having a breakdown about now.

How unfortunate for KM that RSW owned all of those scenes that should have been hers.  Bested by an underwear model!

I hope the writers integrate her with the Brady family....Having her take back the name Jeannie is a good sign....We need Stefanie to come back and become  best friends...They grew up together in LA and it would be nice to see somebody treat Theresa with respect...How about some Theresa/Joey scenes? they are first cousins...I hate that about the show. Family members are not interacting and bonding as a family...

Uncle! Theresa and Brady sucked me in yesterday. I still wish we'd seen Brady actually falling for her, but I'll hand wave that all day long if we get more of them being adorable. But not too adorable, because. well, that's just boring. And so help me Elvis, I enjoyed Marlena and John, too. I like how John is willing to put his issues with Theresa aside if she makes Brady happy, and I especially like that he acknowledged that she's changed, but he's still a little wary. Look at John Black, being nuanced!

I'm still giving the show the side-eye about the way they did me wrong with the Xander-Nicole pairing that never was, so I'm hesitant to get my hopes up, but Nicole really needs to stop grieving and open her god damned eyes. Though I really wanted Deimos for her, I'm enjoying this...whatever is happening between Dario and Nicole. Don't eff this up, Show!

Hmmm, being bested by an underwear model is a dream of mine, but I digress....

Poor Abigail.  And yes I really mean it.  All those years of slapping her way through Salem, of eeny meeny minie mo'ing over who to bestow her Virginity Ring upon, practicing her gymnastic skills so she could successfully scale Mt. EJ without a safety rope NUMEROUS times, her skills at gaslighting a drunken Austin into thinking he'd slept with her, of making Chad off limits after she dumped him because he HAD been hers at one time, of successfully having a job and collecting a paycheck yet rarely having to work, of haranging her brother and mother for not being sufficently "in her corner" and trying to have their own lives, and yes, doing another round of the town, reslapping anyone within reach of her paws, THIS is what drives her over the edge?

Poor baby.

And I do mean Thomas.

So....I'm not feeling Vincent I at all. He nearly kills Maggie to force Victor to sign paperwork and the whole while looks like he's at a gas station filling up his car. This us our new villain? Sigh. Stefano would have given that scene gravitas...

Belle being frank with Philip was awesome. THIS is why I'm enjoying Martha's performance. As unlikable as she's being with her daughter and her Ex, it does feel like she's growing and maturing while also floundering. I guess it depends on who writes the scenes and where they feel Belle is coming from, but I'm getting alot of enjoyment out of this layered woman trying to figure things out.

They could have just had Belle and Philip make Goo-Goo eyes today and hint at a possible marriage, but instead they tried to factor in Belle's life experience. Maybe it's a little bit sad that I'm applauding the writers for actually being aware of who their characters are, but considering the quality of the show I'm going to go ahead and give them credit where it is due. And what's better, I see everything that's going on in Belle's head and heart when I look at Martha. She's the most complex character on the canvas right now and hopefully we will get to see all of her emotions play out over the next few weeks. I don't see her marrying Philip, but I would like to see her and Claire figure their relationship out and see more of Belle interacting with her brothers and parents.

John giving Thrady his Okay was a bit weird. I get that he's happy to be alive right now (smart move writers, in terms of pacing and plotting) but I still don't feel like John had much opportunity to really forgive or trust Theresa. At least they acknowledged their past.

Didn't see Maggie becoming paralyzed coming AT ALL.

...and I have a sinking feeling John Aniston will be leaving soon. Theresa promising to trade barbs with him "every day" and now him losing his company? Plus Philip sticking around long term and Deimos wanting revenge. Reeks of Exit Storyline.

:(

WTF was that?  Maggie is poisoned and falls down the stairs, Deimos has the antidote but Victor has to sign over everything, and now Maggie is paralyzed?  Why wouldn't Deimos be arrested for all that?  I really was hoping for more from this Deimos storyline.

I haven't watched today's show yet. Maggie is paralyzed? Are we sure she didn't just accidentally mistake her industrial size can of Aqua Net for her body spray?

That would paralyze anybody.

Yes. Christopher Sean is a huge bad ass villian on H50 and he fights all the time. Bad. Assery.

Indeed. The line forms behind me.

He would except he knows all of Victors secrets and his involvement in stuff. Victor won't want that out. That's why he told Finn that she was poisoned (didn't say how or by whom).

Logic would dictate Dr. Fynn call the cops...but I guess since he had Christmas Dinner at Victor's this year, he'll overlook the gravity of this situation? *shrug*

Cops are going to be involved....

I'm all for Deimos getting revenge on bastard Victor but did he have to go after Maggie? Why not go after Abifail? Victor wouldn't care about her, but still. I'm not into this at all. With all of the murder and misery going on I'm not interested in seeing a relatively decent old woman being drugged, fall down the stairs, and then become paralyzed. And seeing Phillip and Abifail Lite going at it in the same episode just made things worse.
