Current Plots Discussion: Actually Today's Episode

I may bitch about this show ad nauseam with you guys, but, the one thing that this show has done consistently right is to always showcase the Sonny/ Ari bond..He told Sparkle, I have to go get my daughter, it flows so naturally out of his mouth..Why would Sparkle want to hold Ari?  Unfortunately, Ari is falling for Sparkle's charm..She was not nice to him the first time that they had met...Why doesn't the show explore the Paul/ Sonny chemistry..I am not a fan of theirs, but all this stupid conversations are not going anywhere. These writers are really incompetent...Why are these writers repeating stupid misunderstanding scenes like this instead of exploring the back story they themselves set up? They are the most ridiculous writers I ever had the misfortune to witness. The triangle of Paul/ Sonny/Will has reached an impasse..What was the point of having Will cheat, if there is no long-term consequences, why wont they go forward with Paulson and do something creative with Will....what is the point of all of their stories......

I think the problem with the Will/Sonny/Paul SL is the same as so many others on this show.  They had Will cheat for a shocking twist, but they didn't have an actual SL lined out as to where it would lead.  So it's gone nowhere.

 

They had Kristen steal Theresa's baby, and then Theresa wasn't even really part of the SL.

 

Serena/elephant/diamonds is the very definition of dead SL going nowhere.

 

Sami gets blamed for everything even though she hasn't been in Salem for almost a year.

 

Nicole gets to apologize daily for existing.

 

Naggie nags.  Dan is a jerk.  Brady is to stupid to live.

 

Lather rinse repeat over and over again.

I think the mannequin might turn evil, especially if Abifail fucks Chad and we all know that she will...Plus, if the good people of Salem kill Clyde, that might push him to the dark side..I hope it is Sonny that does the deed, it would tarnish his halo and make him darker....I know alot of you guys dislike the mannequin, but he was good on All My Children. I would not be surprise if he takes over for his dad as the resident menace...He has a temper and self-control issues... Did you guys get the feeling that they might make Chad Kate's son with Stefano...I hope not, Kate has enough kids...I liked the chemistry between Chad and Melanie...What another waste. Melanie is likable with Sonny and Chad....

Wednesday's Recap :)

 

Hope/Rafe/Ciara

We start with Rafe and Hope at TBD making small talk. Rafe asks if Hope thought about what he told her about Clyde and she said yes and Rafe tells her not to have Clyde make problems for her and Aiden. Ciara comes up and says it's too late as Hope and Aiden aren't together anymore because Hope blew it. Rafe asks Ciara to get him to get him a chocolate croissant and she can get one and Ciara says Hope doesn't want her eating them but she goes off to go get it. Hope says Ciara keeps her on her toes and Rafe asks about Aiden and if has to do with Clyde which Hope confirms.

 

Hope doesn't like that Aiden doesn't see Clyde how she and Rafe sees him. Rafe says Clyde is charming and that Clyde is entitled to a lawyer. Rafe asks if she's gonna fix it as Clyde can't ruin what she has with Aiden. Hope doesn't know how to fix it and Rafe says she doesn't have a case just a hunch and to forget about it and focus on Aiden and won't have success with Clyde with guys like Stefano and Hope thinks there might be something with Stefano and Clyde. Rafe tells Hope to suck it up and fix things with Aiden which Ciara comes back with a bag and tells Hope to suck it up. 

 

Hope says that's not how Ciara talks to her and Ciara says why not and is a little bratty to where Rafe has to leave. Hope asks if Ciara is ready and Ciara asks if she's gonna talk to Aiden which Hope says she will and Ciara hugs Hope.

 

Aiden/Clyde/Ben/Hope

Clyde comes by Aiden's office and Aiden flashes back to last convo with Hope over Clyde. Clyde wants to go over some things but Aiden wants to talk about something first. Aiden and Clyde talk about Chase briefly and how spending time with Chase must be a blessing and how Aiden is a widower and how old Chase was when his mother died which Aiden says Chase was five and he talks about Ben being young when Ben's mother died. Clyde says he's gonna make it up to Ben. There's a knock at the door and Ben walks in which Aiden didn't know Ben was gonna be at his office.

 

Ben wants to go back to the last name he was born with and how he used different aliases growing up. Aiden asks if his aliases are on legal documents which Ben confirms and Aiden asks if that's what he really wants which Ben confirms. Clyde is proud of Ben and how Ben is gonna make people notice the Weston name.

 

Aiden gets a text from Chase as Ben and Clyde are no longer in the office. The text from Chase is a photo of Ciara, Aiden, Hope, and Chase at The Square. Aiden then looks at Hope's phone number thinking about calling her. There's a knock at Aiden's door which it's Hope and Aiden invites her in which Hope apologizes about their argument and Aiden understands that she was trying to make things easy for them. Aiden tells Hope that Clyde isn't gonna be the last person that he represents that she investigates and Hope thinks that if things are gonna be that way in their professional lives then it's best that they be friends only and Aiden is thinking the same thing. 

 

Aiden says he's grateful for what they had and hope they can still be friends. Hope shakes his hand and says good luck and Aiden says who he's kidding and they kiss. They make out until Aiden's office phone rings and his next appointment has arrived. Hope has to go off to Chicago and Aiden asks if she wants him to pick up Ciara which Hope says he doesn't have to as someone else is doing it. They kiss and Hope leaves.

 

Mel/Abby

Mel and Abby are at The Square and talk about Brady and Theresa and Abby asks if it's weird for her and Brady which Mel says yes and Mel needs a distraction and asks about Abby's relationship with Ben which Abby unconvincingly says it's fine but Mel doesn't believe her and asks what's going on and Abby flashes back to kissing Chad. Abby says her life is confusing but that Ben is great and Mel says but and Abby says Ben told her something about his past which threw her but it isn't major and how Ben told her it wouldn't happen again and realizes she doesn't know a lot about Ben. Mel asks if there's something else and Mel brings up Chad as she thinks it's what it's why Abby is a little out of sorts.

 

They sit at a table with coffee and she talks about seeing Chad and how she was gonna offer her condolences and how it's hitting Chad hard. Mel thought it was nice of her to see Chad and thinks there's more to it and Abby talks about the kiss and how she stopped it and how Chad tried to continue the kiss. Mel is happy that Abby stopped the kiss and did Abby want Chad to stop. Abby says she feels like a bad person and Mel wants to know if Abby was hitting on Chad when she put her hands around him and Abby denies it. Abby says she loves Ben and they talk about chemistry and Abby doesn't wanna talk about it and instead wanna go shopping for Ari's birthday that's coming up and they head off.

 

Chad/Kate/Mel

Chad is flashing back as well to the kiss until Kate strolls in and Chad says that Kate must have heard about Lucas taking over Countess W and for Kate to take her best shot. Chad wants to know why Kate isn't saying anything and Kate says that she was taken aback but doesn't want Lucas involved in the Vic/Stefano war. Chad wants to know if Kate is mad because he got the better of her and wants the threats. Kate says she's not threatening and she came over to apologize about Kristen's death. Chad says he got all the sympathy he needs. Kate says he's way too young to suffer so much loss in his mother, Lexie, EJ, and Kristen. Chad says he knows how Kate feels about Kristen but Kate says she's still sorry for Chad.

 

Chad thinks the real reason for the visit is for Chad to turn on Stefano. Kate could care less about Stefano as she's there for Chad and Chad says that he's not Kate's son. Kate feels they have a connection and how she was married to Stefano when Chad found out about Stefano being his father and she helped him navigate into the family. Chad doesn't care and Kate thinks that there is a bond and a reason why she can't dislike Chad and knows he's in pain and that she'll be there for him and it's all Kate has to say. She says she'll get Chad back for taking Lucas and leaves. Chad is sitting on the couch and flashing back to his last convo with Stefano and gets up and takes out his cell phone. 

 

Mel got the text from Chad and she arrives and Mel tells Chad that she was at the castle when Kristen died and apologizes. Chad tells Mel that Mar told him the story but feels Mar didn't tell him the whole story and wants Mel to tell him everything.

 

Sonny/Will/Paul/Mel/Abby/Clyde's Right Hand Man (forgot his name lol)

Sonny is at home on the phone with Will who's in Poplar Bluffs at a diner, and Sonny wants to know about why Will changed his mind and Will says it's complicated. There's a knock at Sonny's door which Sonny thinks is the babysitter and he opens it to see Paul. Will asks if Sonny is there which Sonny says he's there but it's not the babysitter so he has to go, Will says he loves Sonny which Sonny says the same. Sonny asks if Paul is here because Will is out of town which Paul said that isnn't the reason. Sonny invites him in and Ari starts crying and Sonny goes to check on her while Paul looks at the family photo of Sonny, Ari, & Will.

 

Sonny brings Ari into the living room and Paul wants to hold her which Sonny hands her over. Paul thought Will was gonna be home so they can work things out and if Sonny told Will that Paul was coming back to Salem which Sonny says no and Paul wants to know why Sonny didn't tell Will. Sonny is unable to answer as Ari spills chocolate milk on Paul's shirt. Sonny gives him a towel and says he's gonna have to wash it which Paul says it's no bother but Sonny insists because it smells and Paul takes off his shirt which Sonny looks a little and says he didn't tell Will because his cab showed up and he had to leave. Sonny says that if Paul is a threat to his marriage then he and Will have no marriage. Sonny tells Paul that he's committed to Will. Paul says he knows Sonny cares about him and Sonny confirms that and says that he and Paul will always have something special and Paul likes how Sonny told him it's OK to love another man and wants Sonny to be happy as it's all he's ever wanted.

 

A waitress approaches Will and wants to know why he's there and Will says he's a journalist writing a story and wants to ask her questions about. The waitress is excited and more excited when Will says it's gonna be the cover of the magazine and waitress hopes her name is gonna be in the article. Will wants to know what the residents think of Clyde and the waitress immediately has to go back to work as she looks scared to talk about Clyde.

 

Paul is playing with Ari as Sonny hands him another shirt and tells him he got most of the chocolate milk off and hands him the shirt. They talk about Will and his career and being in Poplar Bluffs. Sonny wishes that Will would stop writing about local people as it stirs up nothing but trouble. Paul talks with Ari and asks Sonny if he can take Ari out of the chair which Sonny is fine with. There's a knock at the door, Sonny goes to answer it which it's Abby and Mel with gifts. They enter the house and think it's Will in the corner of the kitchen until Paul turns around shirt still unbuttoned with Ari in his arms.

 

They talk and Paul talks about John being his father and being related to Brady and Paul thought Theresa was Brady's gf which Abby corrects him. They talk about Brady going through a lot right now hence Brady's attitude towards Paul and they also mention Dan for some reason since Abby told him Mel's last name. 

 

Clyde's right hand man comes into the diner and on the phone with Clyde and says he knows what to do and right hand man approaches Will and asks Will if he's the writer.

 

Paul and Mel talk about the baby until she gets a text and Mel has to go but tells Paul to give Brady another shot and she leaves. Paul has to go and he leaves. Abby says 'So Paul's back'. Sonny tells Abby that he's not flirting with Paul and it's not what she thinks. Abby knows that things can be complicated and sees how Paul looks at Sonny which Sonny walks to the desk and Abby wants to know if she said something wrong and Sonny says no. What's bothering him is that Will always runs off to write a story and it drives him crazy.

 

Right hand man knows that Will is going around town asking questions about Clyde and Will says that he's a journalist and that Clyde blessed him with the article and it was Clyde's idea. The Right Hand Man tells Will that Will needs to come with him right now.

 

Clyde/Kate

Clyde and Kate meet at the park and kiss and Clyde tells her he has his son back. Clyde says that when he dies Ben is all that's left of the Weston family and he's gonna pass the torch to Ben and that Ben's life is good.

 

Ben/Rafe

Ben is at The Square and is approached by Rafe and Ben tells him he's filling out paperwork to go back to his last name and so his paychecks are correct which Rafe is a little stunned he's going by Ben Weston. Ben says the name is a done deal and that he's born a Weston and knows Rafe doesn't like Clyde but he's gonna go with the name change. Rafe asks how Jordan feels about it and Ben says he doesn't have to run things by Jordan but will tell her and leaves.

 

Marlena/Stefano

Marlena is about to pass out from drinking the tea. Mar doesn't pass out however as she jolts up and wants to know what the guy put in her tea and he evades the question and tells her that they've landed and she's going to answer questions about Kristen. Mar is back at the castle and upset that she's brought back and the guy tells her to stay put and leaves the room. Mar walks up to the window and looks out of it. Stefano enters the room and he and Mar exchange looks. 

 

Mar said she should have known it was Stefano which she apologizes to Stefano on it being hard for him to be in the room where Kristen died and how her death came after EJ's death. Stefano says it's been a difficult 2 years and Mar thinks she's there to explain which Stefano smirks and says, 'you think that's why you're here...interesting.' Mar wonders if he wants to talk to someone who was with Kristen when she fell out the window and Stefano wants to refresh Mar's memory.

 

Mar asks Stefano if he's threatening her children and Stefano says eye for an eye and Mar doesn't want him harming Sami because what happened to Kristen was an accident and how Sami is the mother of his grandchildren. Stefano says he's not gonna harm Sami because she's the mother of his grandchildren but that his grandchildren don't need their grandmother and how they don't need her at all. Mar says that if he wanted revenge he could have killed her in Salem and Stefano says that Mar wouldn't see the last thing Kristen saw when Mar killed Kristen. Stefano wants Mar to give him one reason why he shouldn't kill her.

Stephono just accept that your children are just horrible ass people, mostly thanks to you. Stephono I don't think you can kill a robot, RoboMar is those new age robots that can put themselves back together.

 

Jar Jar mind your damn business and I see how Sonny didn't mention Kristen's death since yesterday Abby told him. I also like how she left out the part about her and Chad taking each other's clothes off when they were kissing and about to hit the sheets. Everytime she tells a story she either lies or tells a half ass story to where she looks good and pure.

 

Poor Ari, she was touched by Sparkles but she showed how she felt about him by vomiting on him and then she was touched by Jar Jar. Ari is gonna need a tetanus shot, checked for rabies, make sure she doesn't have Ebola, be immunized for every possible disease out there. she's gonna need to spend a week in a vat of bleach, get her hair washed 50x, get disinfected, you name it she has to get it done.

 

I like that Kate sees Chad as a son and feels there's a bond between them and it's why she can't despise him like she would a DiMera. Just wish Kate would get away from Mr. Rapey.

 

Mannequin looks like he's gonna release his inner Weston and he can start with Jar Jar. I might like him if he snaps her neck and pops her eyeballs out all at the same time.

 

About time Hope you tell Ciara not to talk to you in a certain way but she was still a little snot about it with the "Why not?" comment. Hope better start getting a backbone when it comes to Ciara and Aiden did make a good point about him representing clients other than Clyde that Hope might be investigating and arresting so she either has to accept it or just get the stepping.

1) His children are dead because of him, and the things he encouraged them to do which they did.

2) Him and his henchmen suck at getting the job done.

3) He is more likely to go out that window than Marlena is.

4) He can't kill Sami, not because of her children, but because any time he sends hitmen after her, Sami kills them.

 

Hope and Aiden call it quits, then make out.  Does that mean they are still together?

If Paulson is going to happen, they're gonna have to step it up a little bit.  All these stupid little games with Sparkle losing his shirt are not moving anything along.  Freddie did hit his lines perfectly today - everything he said to Paul had a hollow sound to it like even he didn't believe it.  But let's get this thing going.

 

I know Salem is home to the World's Best Doctor of All Specialties but it's supposed to be a small enough town that everybody runs into everybody else on a daily basis...and yet the world over, even in Poplar Bluff, all you have to say is "Salem" and everyone immediately knows what town you mean, like it's Seattle or Minneapolis or somewhere.  Hilarious.

For some reason the show is scared to go forward with Paulson, it is almost like they are scared to  darken Sonny's halo...Paul has alot of nerve going over to Wilson's apartment and holding their daughter...A phone call would have been enough....Clyde getting all weepy cracked me up. Are we supposed to empathize and sympathize with a pedophile that threatened an innocent baby...

I think the writers are actually dumb enough to believe they are adding suspense by dragging things out as to whether or not Sonny will cheat with Paul, his ex, the guy Will cheated on Sonny with.  The problem is everyone in Salem cheats.  There is no suspense.  Couples don't work on their issues.  They don't really mean it when they say they love someone.  The go to response for problems in a relationship is for one or both people to cheat.  Even if Sonny doesn't cheat, both Sonny and Will have checked out of the marriage.  This SL is dead in the water.

Maybe I'm in an extra generous mood today, but I actually liked Melanie and Abigail chatting like two (mostly) normal young women.  It made sense for Abigail to discuss her love life with a friend instead of her mother.  And even, yes, Abigail over at Sonny & Will's made sense.   Anything, really, is better than watching all the adults involved in the love lives of their children!

Um...that's hilarious!  Paul older than EJ.  Lordy.  Is EJ the most SORASed character ever in the history of soaps?  I wish I had been reading soap message boards when he first popped up just to see how people felt about him aging 25 years in what....six?  Seven?

 

I'm worried about what horrible SL Sami is going to get stuck in when she returns to Salem.  The good parts of 2014 were Sami/Kate working together and Sami leaving the Dimera House of Horrors without the freaking urn with the fake ashes.

 

You and me both.  I'm guessing they'll have her prop up Mar/John, who I bet will be renewing their vows for the 50th.  Because DUH!  Really, though, I hope she learns that EJ was a scumbag drug dealer and gets over him super fast.  I will hurt myself rolling my eyes if I have to hear about this "movie" they're filming about her amazing, totally important and marketable life.  Wonder what they'd entitle it?

 

Show actually DID put Abe and Maxine together for about 2 seconds, and it was nice to see Abe in  a storyline all his own, and Maxine doing something other than worshiping at the Shrine of Jonas.  But I swear it didn't even last two weeks until we heard Abe say that he and Maxine had decided to stay "just friends".  And he was back to wearing the big coat and being the Gladys Kravitz of Salem, and Maxine was back to being Dirty Dan's acolyte.

 

I guess I blinked and missed that.  I get kinda weirded out by the notion of pairing up the show's only two black characters, but I really think Maxine was a nice alternative to Lexi, who was pretty uptight/serious.  Maxine seems like a LOT of fun and just the kind of woman who would be a great stepmom.  They should hook these two back up.  And yes, she DOES have great comedic timing!

 

Brady and Melanie have always kind of had a thing for each other. It looked like the show was going to get them together a few years ago, and then they brought on that stupid Dario. I think they do love each other.

 

Missed that plot point too.  I actually don't mind Melanie, but she NEEDS to stop acting like a twitchy little kid.  It's annoying as hell.

Abby's hair is really in rough shape.  It's looking thinner and straw-ish now.  Hope the actress is okay and this is just about growing it out and chopping off the dead parts.

I wish I could see Abigail and Mel and think "normal" girlfriends having a chat, but that doesn't seem to ever happen.  It sure doesn't help that Abigail goes from being dressed out of the Goodwill drop box one day, to wearing what looks like castoffs she found in the trash today.  

 

So Marlena is in Italy with Stephono and he's interrogating her.....

Such a lovely couple, too bad they were never able to make it work.  A little WD40, a bottle of champagne, and it could be a lube job neither would ever forget.

I'm having a hard time following the Chad and Stephano storyline. Is he instructing Chad to seduce Abigail or does Chad really want  Abigail? Is BF being forced to play that same kind of ambivalence that was all over EJ when none of us could tell what was going on in the EJ and Abigail storyline "romance-wise"?

I wonder how they are going to write Clyde out and if Jordan will ever expose him as a pedophile...They seem to be getting him close to the plastic mannequin, so that when he is killed off. He can be devastated and become the new villain in town....I think the actor can play it...I am tired of Stefano and his kids being the villains..The show needs to get rid of the Dimeras for good and move on with new villains..We have had good villains back in the day: Emma, Orpheus, Lawrence, Ernesto, even Victor....Victor needs somebody to take over for him..I would love it to be Alex, Philip or one of the twins with Sonny being the wild card in the battle for power...

The Dimeras haven't been believable as scary villains since Andre died in 2007, and Stefano took up permanent residence in Salem.  Their SLs have been the same for years now.  Stefano's idiot children can't get anything accomplished without his help, and they get away with everything because that's what the writers want.

 

I wish Stefano was going to be dead before Bo and Patch return to Salem so they could have a new villain with a new adventure storyline.  Marlena should kill Stefano for real in self defense.  The End.

Exactly...They can always hint at another Dimera coming into the fold in the future and it would be cool if it was Johnny....He has always seemed to be fascinated with the Dimera legacy....Plus we have Sydney, Benji's son and Theo as Dimeras for the future. so the family will not be completely wiped out....

In one of his many returns, Stefano had 5 clones of Marlena sent around the world to confuse the authorities...I think he was going to kidnap Marlena again, but for some reason the show dropped it and never made referenced to them...Just like when Hattie came back, she was supposed to switch places with Marlena....That was dropped as well....Remember the Halloween stalker back when Jennifer was in a triangle with Jack and Dr. Tan, nothing ever came out of the plot...They can always say that he kidnapped Jack and faked his death....

It's sad when the dropped story lines are still more interesting than some of the stuff we're seeing now. And I say that as someone who is actually enjoying the show now more than I have in a few years. Can we trade Clyde and Podunk Hollow (or whatever that town is named) for more secrets from Alice's safe deposit box?

Was Hattie played by DH's actual twin?  I only found out she had a twin recently and found that super creepy.

 

DH was terrible during her scenes with JM today.  And wasn't he visibly reading off cue cards?  Awkward.  Though him calling her Saint Marlena and her about to be tossed out a window was possibly the best this show has been in YEARS.

It was a Friday cliffhanger and the viewers at that time were in an uproar...People came to the studios  protesting the decision, some were even wearing Marlena masks...Soap fans have always been very vocal about their shows and the producers had so much respect for fans back then..It begs the question, when did they become so apathetic towards us...

I thought Chad wanted to be a Dimera. What is with all his whining now about being just like them? If he doesn't want to be a Dimera, why is he working for Stephano? You can't possibly have only figured out AFTER she died that Kristen was a nutcase. Even if he missed out on the sex tape in church, don't pretend with the naivete.

 

BF might be cute, but that's not enough to keep me from seeing the lack of logic in what he's complaining about.

Sam being killed while everyone believed Marlena was dead was an excellent SL.  There are some great scenes with Marlena, Roman, and Don.  When Don first sees Marlena at the cabin, he believes she is a ghost.  Then when they start talking, they realize Sam was the one who was killed, and Marlena is devastated.  Roman seeing Sam's body believing it was Marlena was heartbreaking.

 

Stefano's idiot children whining about not wanting to be a Dimera, and then going to Daddy Stefano to save their asses when they screw up has been done to death.  Chad is just taking over where EJ and Kristen left off.

Thursday's Recap :)

 

Serena/Xander

We start with Serena and Xander are in bed basking in the afterglow where they speak romantically until Serena stabs him in the chest. Which is of course a dream from Serena as she's at The Square eating and holding a knife. Serena twirls the knife and wish it was simple to just put a knife through his heart but that he doesn't have one. She wants Xander to know she's not afraid of him and she gets up and leaves The Square.

 

Nicole/Xander/Eric

Nicole is in her office applying lipstick until she flashes back to Xander almost kissing her and her turning down Dan at the Square. She talks to herself about pushing Dan away as it's the right thing to do and will be all for nothing if Xander doesn't take the bait but says that it will not be for nothing as she's going to figure out what Xander and Serena are up to before Serena breaks Eric's heart.

 

Nicole calls Xander and Xander says he's been thinking about her but he'll call her later and hangs up. Eric enters the office and wants to know why she's calling Xander. Nicole says she talked to Brady about everything that happened in Italy and that her boss is making her do a story about Italy and Eric asks what that has to do with Xander. Nicole says she's calling Xander because Xander and Brady are related and Eric says so is he and mentions Dan. So Eric stills wants to know what does it has to do with Xander. Nicole says she doesn't want to bug anyone and Eric says does Nicole think that he doesn't know what's going on. 

 

Nicole says that Dan would be upset if he found her nosing about with Dan and Mel. Eric says that Nicole can come to him and that Nicole is being defensive and Nicole says it's because Eric is grilling her. Eric calls her a lousy liar and Nicole denies lying and Eric thinks that there's something going on with Xander but it's not Brady and Nicole says she'll tell Eric the truth.

 

Nicole hesitates but Nicole says she's pursuing Xander because he and Serena are up to something which Eric says seriously. Nicole knows that Eric doesn't want to hear it but Nicole tells him about what she's heard and how Serena is ready to drag her off to Hawaii which Eric doesn't believe. Eric says that she doesn't have proof and that nobody will believe Nicole's proof and reams her out which of course is just a dream from Nicole. Real time Eric says he's waiting for the truth.

 

Nicole says maybe she was flirting with Xander to make Dan jealous and Eric says if she says so. Nicole thinks she's off limits to Xander or Dan (can't remember who she said lol) and how she won't live up to lofty standards of Eric and Dan. Nicole wants to know why Eric is in her office and Eric says he came by wanting to make sure she's not writing a story on Brady but Nicole tells him she is and wants him to leave which he does. Nicole talks to herself and says she has to find proof so Eric will believe her.

 

Nicole and Dan run into each other at The Square and Nicole apologizes for going off on him knowing more about Italy. Dan says it's his fault but don't want to argue about who's more sorry and would like Nicole to keep talking and wants to know if they can have dinner tonight with Mel or maybe the two of them if Mel has plans. Dan knows they have a lot to talk about and Nicole says she's working on a huge story and will call him in a few days which Dan reluctantly accepts and says that he and Nicole will be in touch. Dan walks away. Nicole talks to herself again and says it better be worth it what she's doing and that her and Dan will be together.

 

Dan/Xander/Serena/Nicole

Dan walks up to the hospital desk when he's approached by Xander who wants to speak to Dan. Xander talks about Brady and if anyone needs anything which Dan thanks him but doesn't need his help. Xander asks Dan about Nicole. Dan says Nicole is fine and Xander says he feels bad because he didn't know they were dating and hoped he didn't cause any problems which Dan said he didn't and that they're fine and thanks him and Dan says he needs to go and get a real cup of coffee instead of the hospital which Xander offers to take him to go get some coffee and Dan says he'll be back and Dan walks off with Xander glaring at him. 

They're now at TBD and they talk about Italy, with Serena walking in and seeing them at the table. They then talk about Vic being a father figure to Dan since being married to Maggie and Serena joins them at the table. Serena wants to know about Xander's childhood. Serena talks how Xander was involved in his charity work and not talk much about his childhood asks Dan about how Xander was as a child but Dan has to go. Serena invites Dan out to dinner and invites Xander as well. Dan says name the time and leaves and Xander tells Serena to come with him right now.

 

They go to Xander's hotel room and Xander wants to know what she's doing and Serena says she knows Xander and how he manipulates women to get them in bed but nice to men because he secretly hates them. Xander says he likes Dan and Serena talks about Xander and his family being in Salem almost in a taunting fashion which Xander tells her that she doesn't know what she's talking about and to shut up. Xander calls her a fool if she thinks she can play at his level and tells her to get out and stay out of his site. Serena opens the door to leave and Nicole is standing in the doorway.

 

Dan/Eric
Dan is home when there's a knock at the door which is Eric who gives Dan a folder that contains photo of Parker. Dan tells Eric he had coffee with Xander and how Serena came by and invited Xander to dinner. Serena tells Dan that Serena doesn't like Xander.

 

Chad/Mel/Abe

Mel apologizes for Kristen's death and Chad wants the whole story from Mel as he thinks Stefano won't be completely honest with him. Mel tells Chad the story about Italy. Chad asks if she regrets what she did which she responds that she regrets how it turned out for Kristen. Chad says that Brady and Theresa are bonded forever because of the baby. Mel apologizes again and she doesn't regret telling Brady about the truth and Chad says he deserves to know the truth about Kristen. Chad knows that people are trying to protect him and doesn't want people tiptoeing around him and begs her to tell the truth. Mel says how they were all locked in the castle and how Kristen was gonna kill them and how it's not Mar's fault and how Kristen would have killed them if Kristen succeeded in killing Mar.

 

Mel apologizes again which Chad says she doesn't have to be as she's telling him the truth. Tired of people telling him that he's not going to be like his family and Chad lists his crimes and bad behavior with blackmailing Gaby and fake tumor and that he's a DiMera through and through. Mel says she's made some mistakes so that makes her a DiMera as well but that the things he's done isn't close to what EJ and Stefano have done. They talked more about Chad being a DiMera and Chad talks about his child dying and sarcastically saying he's a good guy. Mel thinks it hasn't been that bad and that Chad isn't the type of guy to go around feeling sorry for himself and to be his own man and not worry about Stefano. Mel gets up to leave and Chad says he didn't mean to make it all about him and hope things work out between her and Brady and she gets whatever she wants as she deserves it. Mel thanks him and leaves.

 

Chad is in a chair until Abe arrives and tells Chad he's trying to track Stefano which Chad says he can't help as he doesn't know where he is and wants to know what's going on. Abe thinks Stefano has Mar. Abe brings up Johnny and Chad says he talked to Stefano but doesn't know anything and how Stefano seemed calmed when speaking about Kristen and Abe says Chad has to contact Stefano and that Stefano could hurt Mar. Chad knows it was an accident on what happened to Kristen because Mel told him and Abe asks Chad can Stefano be persuade to think the same way and Chad takes out his phone to call Stefano.

 

Abe/Roman

Abe enters Roman's office as Roman has a bad feeling about Marlena. Roman is unable to get in touch with Mar within 24 hours as they were suppose to get together and feels something is off as she's not home and not answering her cell. Abe asked if he checked in with Brady and Roman says yes and not gonna notify John as he has too much going on right now. Roman tells Abe that Stefano is behind it. Abe says he's going to go to the source and leaves the office.

 

Stefano/Marlena

Marlena tells Stefano to stop but Stefano feels justified and Mar says this is how he wants to end it by killing her because of all they been through. Stefano asks how it's suppose to end since she killed Kristen. Mar says it isn't about Kristen and she knows Stefano and thinks that it's about her and Stefano finding a way to rid himself of Marlena. Stefano scoffs and wants to take a trip down memory lane. Mar doesn't want to recall how Stefano tormented her and her family which we see flashbacks of Stefano and Mar from many years ago. In real time Mar says it's different because people know about the castle and Stefano says they didn't until Mar showed up and has no problem with getting away with killing her.

 

Mar says she's still here no matter how many threats Stefano has made against her which another flashback from years ago is shown this one involving a plane landin, a dead rat, Stefano taking off a mask revealing himself and pulling her into a dresser (or something looked Halloween-ish, long time viewers will probably know what that is) and how Mar tempted him and his fantasies coming true. In real time Mar says that Stefano defines the word obsessed.

 

Stefano says it's his turn to talk and how she had a perpetual smile and she's nothing but a liar and how he's been called a murderer but says his hands are clean and hers are not and we get flashes back to Mar shooting him and disrobing in front of Stefano and actually drugging him and sticking him with a needle and thinking Mar is a demon, followed by Mar pushing Stefano out a window. In real time Mar says she wasn't in her right mind and Stefano says of course the devil made her do it but that Mar is the devil. 

 

Mar says why is she the devil? Is it because she protects the people she loves and thinks that what she and Stefano have in common. They talk about the marriage of EJ and Sami and how they love their grandchildren and how she wouldn't change that for anything. She asks would he be happy killing her and Stefano says yes and Mar calls it premeditated murder and how the grandchildren don't need Stefano and how they would feel if Stefano took Mar away from their grandchildren forever.

 

Stefano says the grandchildren would be hurt if they knew but says that they're not going to find out. Stefano tells Mar to make her peace as she will die. The three men enter the room and Stefano orders them to throw Mar out the window. The men are going to throw her out of the window until Stefano's phone rings, he sees Chad but doesn't answer it. Mar is begging and Chad tries to call again but no answer. Chad tells Abe that Stefano wouldn't hurt Mar but back at the castle Mar is able to briefly get the men off her but they quickly grab her and try to throw her out the window as Mar is still begging and pleading Stefano to not do it.

Damn shame two men can't toss RoboMar out of a window. How much does she weigh that two men can't pick her up and throw her out? I tell ya Vic and Stefano have some lousy ass henchmen. It seems that Mr. Rapey is the only one with a good right hand man in Jeremiah (I know his name now lol). Also gonna throw her out of a window with the yellow tape still taped to the window. Oy.

 

I wish Nicole would stop talking to herself, geez lady get a friend or get a bird. Tell Jar Jar to fart one out. I'm pretty sure that species can do that.

The flashbacks sound awesome!!!

 

Nothin' can save the elephant story but maybe there would have been a bit of suspense if didn't appear that the transaction was pretty much complete. Xander got his diamonds. Serena got her $300k. Who cares now? Really, who cared before? Maybe if they had shown us that a diamond had fallen out and Parker was playing with it or something screaming "sparkle!" LOL!

Nicole talking to herself again. What business is it of Eric whether Nicole and Daniel are arguing, and whether Nicole is seeing Xander? I can't wait till Serena turns out to be a bad guy and Eric has to eat crow.  Shut up, Eric.  God. And now it turns out it was all a dream?  Dammit.

 

Why is Daniel still on Baby Not!Christopher's case?  Theresa wanted him out. And why did he say he will be texting "everybody" with the baby's results?  It's against HIPAA laws for him to do that.

 

They did a lot of recapping today from old storylines.  Are they anticipating getting new viewers?

 

Will Marlena be struggling at the window for all of the time it takes Chad Abe and Roman to get to Italy?  And how does Abe expect to trace the call if they haven't set up a trace protocol in advance?
