With Putin’s help Donald J Trump became the 45th President of the United States and he wasted no time paying off his pal Vladimir…
Trump spoke glowingly of him every chance he got… every executive decision benefited Putin.
He ceded the middle east to Russia, withdrew from Syria and allowed Putin to fill the void.
He turned his back on Ukraine, the last bastion standing between Russia and a free Europe.
He disavowed NATO, the alliance that had held Russia at bay for over 70 years.
He pulled US troops out of Germany… something the Kremlin has always wanted.
At the Helsinki summit, Trump chose to publicly believe Putin over his own intelligence agencies.
He attacked America’s friends and embraced her enemies just like Putin wanted.
At home Trump became the “divider in chief” driving deep divisions between all the different factions of American society.
To divide America from within… to drive a wedge between blacks and whites, rich and poor, left and right, has long been a part of Putin’s KGB playbook.
Russian hackers are inflaming racial tensions across the country, infiltrating radical groups, political parties and planting disinformation on social media.
We can only hope that the US Intelligence Services are prepared to address these threats because obviously Mr. Trump isn’t.

That's the moment that right wing spaces seems to have latched onto. It was the main story on Fox News when I checked this morning, and there are also featured articles about the other people he mentioned in his address with complaints about the way Democrats responded. I know I shouldn't be surprised but I can't believe they're still able to rile people up and make the focus individual cases when Trump is destroying institutions, relationships with allies, the economy, regulations, etc. I've wanted to read more about propaganda tactics because it's kind of fascinating, but fanfiction is really the only thing I'm able to read right now.

That's harsh but she didn't live all the way through January - by only a few hours. My father lived all the way through March and died in early April so they didn't ask for his March payment back even though it was deposited in April. I was talking about not having to return the payment for the month before a person died, which comes on the month they died. It has to be frustrating when someone dies so close to the end of a month and their payment was already sent before the gov't. knew they didn't make it through the month.

The protest in pink clothes - What was that all about?  It made no sense at all.

One of the Representatives stated:

“Women are claiming pink as a color of protest, as a color of power, and we are protesting what is happening right now."

Pink is not a power color.  Seriously?  Now Blood Red is a power color that would have reflected that many people are about to die due to this Cretin.

I am pretty sure that it was offered up as a choice but was probably seen as too radical. Heaven forfend.

No, red is the color of the Republican party. I don't think wearing any color would make one bit of difference. The Democrats need more than a color, they need defiance, courage and to keep the spotlight, in the shape of the media on them. I am just as disgusted by the like of MTG, Boebert and the rest of the R rabble but they get coverage.

We have food pantries/banks all around this area (central coastal California) so anyone can come to us and virtually the next day go to another place and get yet more food if they want. Totally enough!

I have read and heard versions of this story going back years now but never one this cohesive and comprehensive. It rings true even based on facial expressions I saw Trump make in Putin's presence when he probably wasn't aware of it. Even before I heard these stories it came to me one day that Putin must have something on him to make him exhibit that body language. And everything Trump has done and said since then has only made me even more convinced of it. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if this is at least somewhat accurate.

I was living in South Dakota at the time we used ours, so there's that - California may well do things differently than other states do in that regard. I can't remember the names of the local food banks we used, but I do remember ours weren't nearly that detailed and full. 

Also, California is significantly bigger in terms of population, so they probably do have a lot more availability of that sort of thing. South Dakota's population is signfiicantly smaller. So food banks aren't going to be nearly as frequent and common as they might be elsewhere.

And two weeks' worth of food is great! But people who are financially struggling will need help a lot longer than that, and they shouldn't have to rely on food banks every couple weeks to get the basics. They should have a stable safety net to help them long-term, one that goes beyond individual charities'/food banks' generosity.

His inauguration was a little more than six weeks ago; four years seems insurmountable, if not unsurvivable.  Russia God/ Mother Earth/ Kharma if you're listening....

I am a cradle to the grave Democrat and even I am aghast at my party's failure to rise to the moment. As a Minnesotan, I can only look longingly to the north and dream of an underground tunnel to Winnipeg.

It's got to be more than just him sleeping with someone. He's been caught cheating before.  It could be the golden shower story that has been going around for years.  If he was the one being showered he might think it makes him look weak. Or maybe he killed someone.  Or the Russians made it look like he did.

Yes, a stable safety net that begins with employment and self-reliance. Assisting with housing in order to allow the earners in the household to be trained or gainfully employed is the first step, but ultimately unless people are permanently disabled to the point of not being able to work at all (and we have lots of clients at the food pantry that are), all assistance should be aimed at helping people get *off* assistance for a happier life. (and yes, we provide referrals to such services both in person and on our pantry website as a matter of course). We have clients that have been coming to the pantry for years and we are so pleased to serve them as we know they will never (for lots of valid reasons) be able to afford both rent/utilities and food...but the people that come to us for a few months and then report they don't need us anymore because they have landed a good job are the ones that are by far the happiest.

It's pretty self-explanatory.  The story itself came from a guy named Christopher Steele who released a series of memos pertaining to Trump.  I've never heard that anyone has actually viewed the supposed tape of the incident.

It's pretty self-explanatory.  The story itself came from a guy named Christopher Steele who released a series of memos pertaining to Trump.  I've never heard that anyone has actually viewed the supposed tape of the incident.

I am absolutely convinced that nothing would make his base turn on him other than irrefutable proof of murder or child molestation. Pee tapes are victimless fetish stuff and they wouldn't care about that any more than they cared about Stormy Daniels and that was in some ways worse because it involved adultery. And they could always claim that any tapes presented were faked. For Trump himself to be worried enough about it to become Putin's puppet , it has to be really bad.

While nothing would surprise me about Trump this is where I land.  He admires dictators - he wants to be a dictator.  And he doesn't care about anyone or anything other than lining his own sleazy pockets. And of course the chronically indoctrinated have given him delusions of grandeur.

This is true.  Callous maybe, but true.  One must live through the entire month to keep the payment for that month.  As I said before the payment for month x is made in the next month y.  In this case the check for January would have arrived in February.
