Wasn’t it considered a Box Office bust due to its massive budget? Did Paramount throw a fit or something to have it included in its award show? Or did international box office save this one? 1 1 Link to comment

We already know which nominee had the biggest box office, and probably which was most profitable. So… is it the best, quality-wise, of the nominated blockbusters? But if so, wouldn’t this year’s Best Drama or Comedy winner, if among them, effectively win twice? Edited December 18, 2023 by tv echo 1 Link to comment

Avabelle December 29, 2023 Share December 29, 2023 Any idea who will be presenting? I’m trying to get an idea of who’s attending so I know if I’m bothered watching. Link to comment

I'm not seeing any announcements. The show airs on Sunday, and I've seen little-to-no promotion. Link to comment
Avabelle January 7 Share January 7 No promotion but looking at the below presenter list they’re back to the norm attendance wise. https://www.justjared.com/2024/01/05/golden-globes-2024-full-presenters-list-revealed-with-23-more-stars-added/#more-1984861 Are people watching live tonight? I've seen a few Ad Breaks on YouTube for the show tonight but that has been it. I will watch it I always watch it and just have fun talking about it with everyone else. I'm more surprised E! is not airing the pre show. I found it will stream online so I will watch the red carpet on YouTube. Link to comment
Avabelle January 7 Share January 7 Yes I saw et online and variety streaming so I’ll watch that and potentially catch the actual show tomorrow as I’m in Ireland watching and starts at 1am. im surprised ET not doing full coverage. I assume cbs wouldn’t give them a decent coverage spot? It’s the kick off for awards season so it’s a shock tO me they weren’t all over it. My only gripe with variety is Marc Malkin at variety is a brutal interviewer. He just giggles his way through everything and it’s so irritating to watch. Link to comment
ProudMary January 7 Share January 7 Red Carpet livestream starts at 6:30 ET/3:30 PT 1 Link to comment
Avabelle January 7 Share January 7 Looking at Twitter a good few people have started arriving. Link to comment
ShadowHunter January 7 Share January 7 I still this box office achievement award is silly. 2 Link to comment
ShadowHunter January 7 Share January 7 I didn't know Matt Bomer tried out to be one of the Ken's in Barbie. I remember the first time I saw him was in Guiding Light. What the hell is Natasha Lyonne wearing? She looks like a statue or something. 2 Link to comment
Avabelle January 7 Share January 7 Nicholas Cage always comes across as gloriously batshit. I wish Marc Malkin would stop shouting over the celebs and just let them speak a full sentence. 5 Link to comment
ShadowHunter January 7 Share January 7 I don't like the dress Sarah Snook is wearing. 2 Link to comment
Avabelle January 8 Share January 8 It’s the singing he’s done in at least six interviews - I’m having to look away he makes me cringe so much. 1 Link to comment
ShadowHunter January 8 Share January 8 Reese Witherspoons son is very cute. I loved S1 of Big Little Lies. S2 wasn't as good but I will still check out S3. Link to comment
BlackberryJam January 8 Share January 8 Margot Robbie as Super Star Barbie is red carpet perfection. 1 2 Link to comment
Avabelle January 8 Share January 8 I don’t by any means think Laverne and the gang at E are that good but at least there’s less squealing than Marc and the other one. 1 Link to comment
UniqBlue69 January 8 Share January 8 Damn I got my snacks all ready and turned on E! ready to kick back and watch some disastrous fashions and they're on their 10 millionth replay of Sweet Home Alabama.. da fuq?! So now the red carpet has been relegated to YouTube? That's fucked up! 2 Link to comment
Avabelle January 8 Share January 8 Jesus guys I might need to switch off. I’ve so much second hand embarrassment with Marc and how awkward these interviews are. He’s just so so awful. the only decent interviewer is Angelique and they’ve relegated her to the background. Shes barely interviewing anyone. Link to comment
BlackberryJam January 8 Share January 8 (edited) Jonathan Bailey did the casual white suit 100x better than Andrew Scott. Edited January 8 by BlackberryJam 6 Link to comment
BlackberryJam January 8 Share January 8 Meryl. Hate the pussy bow, but she look amazing. 3 Link to comment
ShadowHunter January 8 Share January 8 They are really burning through these Interviews. Part of me appreciates that because on E! They had to factor in for the commercials and waste time a bit but they also feel like they are cutting some people off. It feels more awkward as well. 1 Link to comment
Avabelle January 8 Share January 8 It’s awkward because the presenters are so hyper, I feel like the celebs just want them to calm down a bit. Link to comment
ShadowHunter January 8 Share January 8 It must be cold for LA I have heard at least 5 different people comment on that tonight. Link to comment
ShadowHunter January 8 Share January 8 Elizabeth Banks! My Mother loved Cocaine Bear lol. So much so my Brother got her a Cocaine Bear Funko Pop for Christmas lol. 1 3 1 Link to comment
Avabelle January 8 Share January 8 Jason Sudeikas is dressed as though he was having a casual dinner nearby the award ceremony and just decided to pop in. 1 1 Link to comment
thuganomics85 January 8 Share January 8 Well, judging from announcer/voiceover guy, they are really, really hoping someone says something controversial tonight. Keep the drinks flowing! 1 Link to comment
Avabelle January 8 Share January 8 Yikes Nolan looked hurt at the Oppenheimer jokes. Oh god this is not great! 2 Link to comment
ShadowHunter January 8 Share January 8 This is kinda cringe lol. I liked the joke to Ryan Gosling but that was it. Well DeNiro actually laughed wasn't expecting that lol. 3 Link to comment
Bill1978 January 8 Share January 8 This monologue makes me long for the days when we use to open these shows with a song and dance number. 4 Link to comment
Avabelle January 8 Share January 8 This is awful. He’s roasting and none of them are in the mood for it. 1 Link to comment
LennieBriscoe January 8 Share January 8 I guess Brendan is still miffed he lost the 2023 GG to Austin Butler. Link to comment
ShadowHunter January 8 Share January 8 Thank God that's over. What a painful opening. Oh no Jared Leto. 2 Link to comment
pvandal January 8 Share January 8 Next year please pay whatever Ricky Gervais asks. I know he isn’t coming back but he was sorely missed in this house. 7 1 Link to comment
Avabelle January 8 Share January 8 I don’t think roasting is the way to go ever at these award shows. Unless your Ricky Gervais it never works. 2 Link to comment
thuganomics85 January 8 Share January 8 (edited) Man, that was rough. Possibly one of the roughest openings yet? That's saying something. And despite all of the roasting, he plays it safe with Jared Leto of all people? Leto probably loves being called "Hot Jesus." Oh, shit, Da'Vine! I guess the new voting system really is changing things if the arguably lesser known nominee takes it. Good for her though: heard she was excellent in The Holdovers. Avabelle January 8 Share January 8 One thing ill Say in the hosts defence - he wasn’t great but the audience were total dry shites about some of the jokes at their expense. It’s a friggin award show guys lighten up. 6 Link to comment
ShadowHunter January 8 Share January 8 Good they did Supprting Actor and Actress together. Helps things move a bit faster. Well will see lol. Link to comment
Bill1978 January 8 Share January 8 Not gonna lie, I actually enjoyed the schtick between Angela and Jared. Maybe because the opening monologue was so painful, it felt like a breath of fresh air. At the moment I really like how they are presenting the nominees with an image from their role in the movie. 5 Link to comment
