I gave away my giant red Kitchen Aid pot (and a bunch of other stuff) because I saw a notice on my local free for all group that a young woman with three kids had just escaped an abusive situation and gotten a apartment, had nothing but the clothes on her back. So houseguest and I white tornado'd through the house for stuff for her. No heirlooms though.
