So much to talk about, but for now:

Fury is married to a Skrull!

The Skrulls want to enhance their genome!

Sonya is not to be trifled with!

Rhodey!

…and Maria! (sniff)

I wonder if we will find out the reason Fury and Carol have not been able to find a new home planet for the Skrulls is because wherever they have gone, the Skrulls are unwanted.

Could be. It would explain a lot.

I kind of like the “dogs are better than people” speech. And yeah, the Skrull fraction are being hypocrites. If you’re always a victim, it eventually just turns into an excuse to be a terrible person. And they can blame Fury and Carol for failing them all they want, but they aren’t the ones body snatching and trying to steal another planet.

I’m confused. Does Fury know he’s married to a Skrull? If she turns out to be a spy and stabs him in the back I’m going to be pissed.

Because it’s more or less a stormy wasteland and not exactly an ideal location for civilization.

Rolled my eyes at Rhodey suggesting the Avengers. Yeah, because they’ve been such a big help after the Blip…and I’m starting to be suspicious that Rhodey is a Skrull.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought this. "Ross" was a Skrull too. Maybe even the "President" is a Skrull. They have already taken over the other high ranking officials...

Was Maria really dead? We didn't really see what happened to her body after they took Fury. Was she even in the coffin?

I don't think we can believe anything at this point.😄

I'm shocked. Does he know she is a Skrull? Why did she shapeshift to a human form when Fury arrived? Does this mean there could be a possible half-human, half-skrull hybrid child as well?

(I also thought maybe Fury had a dead wife or something whose death he hadn't gotten over so he has the Skrull shapeshift into her form)

Judging by the 1997 flashback with those initial Skrulls looking at Fury as a near savior I am guessing he is all in, including marrying a Skrull. However we then see presumably S.H.I.E.L.D using their abilities so I will presume more people than just Fury and Agent Coulson knew about extraterrestrial life before the Battle of New York.

With Colonel Rhodes saying he was part of the folks who were read into the secret 15 years ago, I will wait on the MCU timeline specialist.  Did Loki set off a whole lot of other people getting in the know? A throw away line about Hydra as they get their first officially canon MCU mention as possibly still being out there since Zemo tracked down an ex Hydra in Civil War.

Heh, Gravik is one of those folks who prefers dogs (and probably other animals) to humans!  Fair enough, we humans have committed a lot of faux pas throughout our time on this Earth (to put it mildly.)  But it sounds like the main motivation is that he and his lot are pissed that Nick and Carol were not able to find them a new home planet (yet?), so they have taken it amongst themselves to try and take over Earth itself by escalating tensions to the point that humans will do what they do best and take each other out.  That's a lot of pressure on just two folks!  And it sounds like about million of Skrulls are on Earth now, because Talos reach out all the remaining survivors and wasn't aware he was helping Gravik build a potential army and spy force.  Whoops!

Looks like G'iah might already be having second thoughts about her allegiance to Gravik.  Definitely think him executing the prisoner who talk was a big turning point.  Now that she knows he is willing to kill Skrulls as well for his cause, she knows he is capable of pretty much anything and might not always have the best intentions of their people in mind.

Definitely suspecting Rhodey might be a Skrull.  He might always be a stickler and militant, but he seemed massively hostile towards Nick in a way that is highly suspicious.

Olivia Colman continues to steal all the scenes as Sonya!

Nick is married?!  To a Skrull?!!  I wonder if he knows about the last part.  Definitely recognized that she was the one who introduced Nick to Gravik in the flashback.

Little surprised over how violent the show is willing to get.

Did we know Fury was married, period? Much less to a Skrull.

Well Vision did say that the Avengers power causes a response. The Skrulls have every advantage except for numbers and Carol Danvers can come back at anytime while they are trying to take earth,

I think Fury's wife is more secret than Hawkeye's in their safehouse. I do wonder who knew the big secret of alien life, where the minor one of Fury going full alien beyond Coulson.

Fury's married to a skrull. I'm assuming he knows since we saw her in her skrull form in the past scenes. I'm going with she changed to a human in case Fury brought someone with him.

G'iah is probably going to be a double agent. She seems to be second guessing how Gravik is handling things. Fury may be onto something asking more about the Skrull/Kree war. Having a species that can shape shift properly turns people of welcoming them. Because what is to stop them from doing what they are doing now. Infiltrating high ranking officials and taking over other planets. There is probably much more that war than the Kree just wanting to destroy them.

The skrulls wanting to be stronger makes sense. They can defeat normal humans but can they defeat Carol, Wanda and Dr. Strange?

Highly doubtful, but since Wanda seems to be dead (yeah right) and Strange is off with Clea in the Dark Dimension, it would still take Carol awhile to get here (assuming the Skrulls haven't found a way to block Nick's pager). That still leaves both Hulks, Spidey, Shang-Chi, Ms. Marvel and Wong, but just calling them could escalate the violence.

i would also suggest calling Wakanda, but since they're kinda rebuilding after the war with Namor I kinda doubt they'd be much help

All of those pods to store humans in to get their brain goodies, but G'iah has to look up Rosa Dalton info on a computer from the 90s? Okay.

Also I'm not sure if I'm missing something, but if I'm supposed to feel sympathetic to G'iah because she's suspecting Gravik isn't all he's cracked up to be then they really missed the mark when they had her feed false info to her father and help murder 2,000+ civilians. The best way she can redeem herself is to die at the end of the series doing something 'noble' to make up for all the horror she's helped to cause.

I supposed Rhodey could be a Skrull, but I was also wondering if his attitude was either a way of protecting Fury or like a preset routine the two of them had to throw off his Skrull Security.

Love Olivia as Sonya. I would have liked a scene of her quipping her way along that escape route. I also thought she was going to pop up somewhere right in front of G'iah as she was sneaking around, but alas.

I'm not surprised Nick is married to a Skrull, but it's curious that he looked around the entryway as if it was newly decorated to him, and yet his wife wasn't surprised to see him. And how was she feeling about him being in space all that time since the Blip? Unless he snuck down to see her over the years (?) and didn't tell anyone else.

And yeah, I have to say I wasn't expecting to see them showing someone's finger getting tortured off, even if it became Skrull green.

I'm still pissed that they fridged Maria. Really hoping she turns out not to be dead later on, but that's no doubt my wishful thinking. I'm wondering who her mother is supposed to be, aside from I guess a member of the US government?

She wore an USMC lapel pin and a Marine 4 star General was part of the Honor Guard along with a RAF officer. So I guess that makes Hill at least second generation in the intelligence business.

You would think that during those uh almost 30 years that no one thought to make some glasses so that they can see who is Skrull and who is not ala They Live?!!??!

So Fury married a Skrull.  A) does he know and B) is that Gravik's mother? I know she said in the flashback that he lost everyone but ....

Oh forgot to add... they dont really know how they are dealing with the clothes. Looks like in most cases they can morph their clothes but does that mean that their original clothes are just their morphing. And are they really walking around naked?

And the Skrulls are making super Skrulls. How original.

Well it is the genre. Hydra, the S.S.R, S.H.I.E.L.D, A.I.M, the Kree have all gone for that advantage through science.  And the Skrulls don't start life superior to the Kree even with the superspy power being their natural adaptation.

That fight scene in the butcher shop was cool, although why did they need to burn the locks off the door to the cooler when it was latched from the outside? The only thing locking it from the inside was the bar that the spy lady put across that hook.

That kind of bugged me that week. They have time travel, space travel, flying cars and magic and no one can make a Skrull detector?

I don’t think it means that. Probably just that Earth is the only one with Fury, a clueless population and an infinity stone powered superhero who chased away the Kree.

I think technically earth was under Asguard's protection while Captain Marvel chased away a specific Kree undercover operation. But of course they retcon with the introduction of each new character.

I guess Fury gets the blame for not getting his bosses to let the Skrull come to earth as he has no way of going intergalactic to find a home world

It sounded like Fury dropped a Captain Planet reference to Rhodey when they were talking. If so, that was hilarious.

I'm not sure why G'iah was sneaking around when she could have just disguised herself as anyone really. Disguise as Gravik if they see you, ask them why they are talking shit about you.

Speaking of which, I wonder if the soldier who got tortured actually did get killed in the woods or if he was faking his injuries and took the place of the guy who was supposed to shoot him.

I'm wondering can the Skrulls sense if someone is a skrull? If they can keep changing forms what is to stop them from impersonating each other.

I also think Gravik knows that G'aih is having second thoughts. He probably knows she leaked the safe house location and killed that guy to see if she felt guilty for getting him killed. He needs her to use against Talos, so he can't kill her yet.

I would say that this episode was better than the first one, although I'm still pissed off that they killed Maria like that. Is she really dead? We saw her looking seemingly dead but we never saw her body and Nick ran away pretty quickly, makes me wonder if she's actually dead or its a fake out, although I think that Nick thinks she's dead.

Rhodey being a Skrull would explain a lot, he's acting really needlessly aggressive and is being really quick get Nick off the case. I also thought his behavior when he was meeting with the representatives was weird, he's normally a lot more diplomatic in political situations, you would think he's be less of a dick when dealing with something so sensitive. Its certainly possible that he's just stressed and the last few years have weighed on him, but he feels off. Or are they messing with us and he's trying to throw any other Skrulls off, like his security detail?

Am I supposed to feel sympathy for G'iah or the rest of her Skrull faction? Because as of now she only seems to feel bad that Gravic killed her mom and that he killed a fellow Skrull, not that she just helped to murder 2,000 civilians, including children, and is plotting genocide, so its really all about how it affects her, not any remorse about killing innocent people, they are going to have to work pretty hard to get me on her side, as good as Emilia is. Gravic is just a huge dick, and his reasons for doing all of this is so petty. He basically wants to kill all life on earth just because he's pissed off at Carol and Nick? Every person and animal on the planet needs to die because he's pissy at two people? He cant even say that humans hate or oppress them, they don't even know they exist! I guess I would be pissed too if our supposed saviors just seemed to fuck off instead of helping us like they promised, but this is a bit much. I also always roll my eyes when aliens and such give lectures about how violent and awful humanity is while they're actively trying to committ mass murder, oh yeah, you guys clearly have the moral high ground.

I just find so much of this confusing, why did it take so long for Nick and Carol to find the Skrulls a new home, or at least a more permanent home on Earth? Its been quite awhile now, what else have they been doing that was so important? Why is all of this secrecy necessary? Its not like humans would be so shocked about Skrulls, magic, aliens, superhumans, and every other weird thing has been well known by the public for over a decade now in MCU time, there are even aliens living on earth full time now and everyone seems fine with it. Half the point of She-Hulk was showing how things like magic, super tech, aliens, and people with powers have just become a normal part of society now and the legal system is working to catch up. I guess you can say that people would be more freaked out by millions of shapeshifters living among them, which is certainly a big pill to swallow, but they could probably get used to it after everything. Someone make a Skrull detector so that they cant break laws by impersonating people, set them up in some radiative cities if they want their own spaces, and call it a day. I guess they will also say that's why Skrulls cant go to another planet, nobody likes them, but I just don't buy it. Shapeshifting aliens taking over the earth is a classic trope, but the way its being used here seems so contrived based on everything we know about the MCU.

I guess the moral of the story is never let refugees in your country because they all want to murder you and take over? Oh then...

Nick has a Skrull wife! Does he know she's a Skrull? If he does I would certainly buy it, given how close he was to them, or it could be a real shock to him in the near future.

I love Olivia as Sonya, she's just so chipper as she's removing body parts.

Maybe, but it's not like she spends a lot of time hanging out on earth, so she could just as easy chase the Kree and others away from another planet. As for the clueless population, as long as all million Skrulls don't show up all at once any other planets would probably be just as clueless. Or find an empty planet and you don't have to worry about a clueless population.

Also I did find it funny that Rhodey officially fired Fury from the US Government since up until that point I wasn't really sure he was working for the government in any official capacity. Like who exactly does he work for? Shield doesn't seem to exist in the movies and D+ shows I don't think.

Oh gosh. I can't believe I forgot about this. He was pretending to be dead after CA2 where they even built him a gravestone. But then he comes out of hiding during the avengers movies but gets blipped and then after the blip he retreats to the space station(I think?)..

I'm just now wondering did everyone who thought he was dead just accept that he was alive all this time? Or did they already know he was alive before he got blipped? Was the part where he's just pretending to "stay dead" after Bucky tried to kill him in CA2 only for that movie specifically?? I'm not sure if this was already addressed before in any movie or show. Does anyone remember?

There is some weird stuff about Nick Fury's fake death. A couple of other things to add. Peter Parker and Happy knew who he was in Far From Home and knew he was alive. He even had a reputation to them, what with the whole you don't ghost Nick Fury thing.

Also just before he gets dusted he is travelling with Maria Hill and tells her to call control or something, so he obviously knows who to call.

Until Fury was shown affectionate  with the Skrulls you would think he only interacted with his spies and the politicians that he worked for. And thus their reactions would be probably be no different than Cap, Natasha and Sam's. Seeing the ship's crew in Age of Ultron being long after his reveal there gives us no insight on how they reacted when contacted to man the ship.

By the time of post Blip everybody knew and judging by Peter Parker's reaction folks knew Fury still held power

See, they do have a skrull detector. Tin snips.

An old spook, like Fury, would check out a place when he entered it, but it is possible it was a safe house he had never been in. Of course he may have been looking for the wedding ring? The wedding ring may be one of their ways to make sure they are who they are supposed to be. If she asks for it. If he goes and puts it on.

I don't think Rhodey has to be a skrull. He may actually just have decided that skrulls are bad and Fury is a skrull sympathizer. Hard to tell without cutting off his finger.

Actually, when does this happen? I thought Marvel said this happened during the blip, but Hill and Fury were back, so maybe they are just exploring what happened during the blip.

That's why I mentioned that it made no sense to melt the latches off from the outside. It's a freezer, you lock it closed from the outside. You wouldn't make it so you can lock it from the inside since no one working at a butcher shop would ever need to lock themselves inside. And then when the door fell off, the rod actually locking it shut was gone.

After reading a Reddit post on this, realized we are actually both wrong. She put the rod on hooks connected to the door itself and extending beyond the door frame. This will stop the door from being opened from the outside. Only by melting the latches from the outside the door can be pushed inside with the hooks (& rod) falling on he floor. It would have made more sense to show them unable to open the door before working on the hinges, but still.

The problem being that the Skrulls pick up more than a Mission Impossible super mask. But then I have forgotten how that being called "Nicholas" in Captain Marvel when everybody calls him Fury, except Maria Hill as they were snapped. worked.

Its certainly possible that he's just stressed and the last few years have weighed on him, but he feels off. Or are they messing with us and he's trying to throw any other Skrulls off, like his security detail?

I thought the same thing. Cheadle is playing Rhodey noticeably different than he usual.

They must have some kind of detection right? Otherwise how does Talos know when he is talking to his daughter?

Talos didn’t know he was talking to his daughter in the first episode until she said something very pointed.

I think that Skrulls can recognize each other; that Russian painter/arms dealer recognized Talos in their fight. I think that Talos would recognize his daughter no matter what face she wore.

I don't think Rhodey is a Skrull. He is clearly trying to make it look like he is against Fury for the eyes that are on him. He is doing a song and dance for TPTB while he figures out how to help Fury on the low. Yes, he would be annoyed that Fury let himself be seen by everybody in the world!  I did like him and Fury collectively wanting to carpet bomb Slovakia. "If this heffa rolls her eyes at me one mo gain..." "Carpet bomb they ass!"

Fury knows his wife is a Skrull. She is the one who introduced Gravik to him, right?  That also explains why Fury is so determined to fix this situation himself; he has a vested interest in keeping this particular Skrull alive and unharmed.

Sonya is awesome. So if she isn't a Skrull herself, she is certainly more than she seems to be. "That door was locked!"  "Well now it isn't. What does that tell you about me and doors?" *chef's kiss*

I did find Gravik's grudge to be petty, but it is totally relatable.  His hero Fury goes poof while the Blip happened (Fuck you Thanos!) then when he comes back, he is changed. Rather than deal with the fallout, he goes off to find a home for them that doesn't materialize.  We should get a Carol Danvers cameo to at least shed a little more light on why every species tends to NIMBY the Skrulls.  Talos is still keeping some things close to his vest despite telling Fury that he called all of his people back to Earth, which understandably caused Fury to freak out.
