Amanda’s photos are pretty slutty and she’s not the wholesome young widow with a tragic backstory that we were led to believe last week.

Larissa  Jasmine is starting to look more plastic in every episode. It's sad what she has done to her face and body as she was a beautiful woman. Why did we have to learn that Jasmine is going to allow Gino access to the backdoor?

David - DONT FUCK THIS UP FOR ME TLC. I like this guy and he deserves better.  Airports do offer services for the deatf and blind to assist them in making his flight. I am guessing with the camera crew there, he didn't need the service but pointed out how difficult it is to get around the hearing world.  I don't see the fact that David is deaf and Sheila and her son are hearing any different than Pole and Karine and the translator app.  Just that Sheila and her kid are going to have to learn ASL. 

Razan's marriage didn't work "because of his past." Hmmmmm I seriously wonder  what this guy is hiding. 90 Day Sleuths?

I'm surprised that he or his family never considered cochlear implants. I'm more fascinated with David and wonder how close he is to his family, if his family knows ASL, etc than i am with his upcoming meeting with Sheila.

In describing his background, he said that he was sent to a boarding school for the deaf where he learned ASL but specified that he didn't know how to lipread which I find hard to believe. Even hearing people can lipread a bit when they need to in certain situations. 

I was surprised to see both he and his friend signing with both hands while driving. 

I don't think cochlear implants work for all types of hearing loss:

"What type of hearing loss do cochlear implants not help?

When the auditory nerve is damaged or missing, this is known as a neural hearing loss. Hearing aids and cochlear implants cannot help because the nerve is not able to pass on sound information to the brain."

Jasmine, it is important that you and Gino learn to communicate. Possibly see a therapist to help talk about your sexual issues. Both of you seem incompatible and have very different needs and wants. If Gino couldn’t offer you the US, would you still want him? Introducing something new may backfire.

Airports and airlines here usually do a great job in helping folks with accessibility. There have been notable exceptions that have made the media, but it seems to be a work in progress. David faces the baggage of Sheila and her two kids, which may be challenging for him. Wish him well, but he deserves a bit better.

Romanian guy brings his past to every relationship. Maybe he worked as an escort, who knows.

I remember reading an article about cochlear implants and that a large percentage of the deaf are against this procedure. It was written in a way that the author would rather society just accept the deaf as members of society. She didn't want deafness to be a "problem" that needs to be fixed. She went on to say being deaf upsets the hearing more than it does the deaf. She was born deaf and doesn't view herself as missing out on anything because she never had it to begin with.

I'm impressed by anyone who can lip read. That looks extremely hard. Maybe it's my own insecurities, but I have thin lips, and I don't use a lot of expression while talking. I don't know how anyone could read my lips with those drawbacks.

David’s family does not sign, and we have to remember David is over 40- technology for cochlear implants were in their infancy, cost, etc all factors into whether or not his family considered it. It’s better to have it when you’re younger (if that’s something that is explored), but many deaf adults do NOT want one.

David appears to have had a very limited education in communication at the school for the deaf where he started at a young age. He learned to sign, but not to lipread or speak. His family didn't learn to communicate with him. I had a deaf student 50 years ago when I was a teacher and he was totally mainstreamed and lipread and spoke with the articulation and intonation of someone who had never heard speech. He didn't learn ASL until he went to a boarding school for the deaf for high school and then he was able to communicate using both speech and signs.

It was interesting watching the reality of Amanda's situation hit her at the airport. After the initial greeting with Razvan, I could actually see her go into "oh shit, what am I doing?" mode as she registered that her distraction/fantasy man was now real. She looked uncomfortable and a little panicky, and it made me sad for her all over again. I hope this turns into a fun short term fling for her, and not a total train wreck (or, heaven forbid, a pregnancy).

Of course Tyray was sending money he couldn’t afford to the catfish.  They hooked someone who was so vulnerable.  The show doesn’t pay much, only about a $1,000 an episode, but he probably needs the cash and will let them draw out his humiliation.

Especially since she was only ever with her husband…and it .makes me wonder if she is capable of a fling without beating herself up.  She really isn’t ready for this….just for the fantasy.  A real life man who wants sex…not just yet.

I agree with others up thread that said Amanda looked like a deer in headlights when he was there IN REAL LIFE. 
 

Razvan is handsome, and he has that twinkle in his eye “I am no good, but you’ll have a good time.”- I am not surprised her head was turned, especially in the emotional upheaval of losing her husband so suddenly. It’s clear she isn’t comfortable with this, I want to see if she listens to her guts, enjoys her vacation and GOES HOME to her kids, gets some grief therapy and then when she’s ready find someone to be with for real.

In the past, I have skipped seasons that included retreads for whom I didn't care (i.e. Ed, Angela, etc.).  I am watching this season even though I have absolutely no desire to see Gino/Jasmine, so I just fast-forward their scenes.  After reading the live chat and various comments in the episode threads I am so glad that I am not focusing on their scenes.

Amanda can just stop with her 'never thought I would find love again/my children are my world' attempts to make us feel sorry for her.  Communicating/sexting with Razhad 2 months after her husband died?  Leaving her children for three weeks less than a year after their father died?  Just go away.  Complaining about no space in the bathroom for her stuff and a box of tissues?  What will she do if he asks her to leave?  He wants fun, she is being an Eeyore.  He wants a green card (so he can reach his destiny of being a 'star') so he will probably put up with quite a bit.  

So far I like Sheila and hope she and David don't turn into ogres (not that there's anything wrong with ogres...) and they can create a family and have a wonderful life.  Having said that, I have many doubts that will be what happens.

Tryra needs to just accept the fact that Carmello isn't real.  He will prolong and deepen his hurt by insisting that she does exist and something just happened to her phone.  He should have stopped after she didn't meet him in Barbados.  Hopefully his brother and sister will talk some sense into him (doubtful though).

I don't have much hope for any of these couples working out. But, my deepest concern is for Amanda's children.  Keep children out of this show!  Sigh.

Oh boy...Tyree. My heart breaks for him and anyone else who is catfished and has a good heart. I don't know how these people sleep at night, live with themselves, taking advantage of the lonely and vulnerable. Especially since it did go on as long as it did, that man knew damn well about Tyree's financial and family struggles. I am sure they justify it because he is American and many foreigners assume even a broke ass American has it better than they do in their day to day struggle (case in point, Sheila's shack in Cebu). He had to know in his heart that this wasn't real, or there was a shot it wasn't real especially after he flew all the way to Barbados and was stood up. But, he also wanted to have that hope that he could have a hot woman like Carmella. Hopefully off camera his siblings can talk some sense into him and help him accept the truth and we dont' have to see TLC drag his ass down to Barbados to meet Christian. I am shocked that the man confessed to the producers. Looks like sis does a reverse image search on the next episode and something turns up. That won't be enough to convince him though SMH. 

Amanda----how miserable did she look at the airport. Girlfriend couldn't even fake a smile or hug him back. I actually feel more sorry for Razvan than I do for her----whatever his skeezy himbo past or career choices, he did actually seem very excited to meet her. The teddy bear without eyes was a bit odd, but sweet and he did have a bouquet of flowers on the table at the apartment. And what did he get? A side hug and bitching about how he didnt' plan better to clean off some space for her in his bathroom. And the whole tissues thing was just weird----why was she so freaked out by it?? She may be "inexperienced" in that she was only ever with her husband, but she is a mother of two. Why does any reference to sex make her giggle like a 14 year old? The reality of her situation is hitting her and she is now face to face with the fact that sending a bunch of nudes or sexy pics and facetiming someone is VERY different than spending time together in his apartment and screwing him. She is not ready yet. I get it. I was with my first husband for almost 20 years, he was my first, and when I first started online dating after my divorce, I thought I could be wild and free and all my girlfriends told me it was my time to just go out and get some. I even set up a sexy tinder profile that basically said I was just looking for a hook up. I was flooded with requests and it freaked me out. I started chats with a few of the guys but when they basically wanted to know when and where we would meet up, I chickened out. Deleted the profile and the app. That is what Amanda should have done. Maybe joined a young widows group to have some support and people to talk with, etc. But it seems like Razvan actually does have a heart and feelings for her and will be a bit crushed. Oh, and WTF is up with her kids asking so many damn questions about her sleeping arrangements? See, right there she has told them WAY too much about her relationship. They should just think Mommy is away visiting friends. Not a boyfriend.

I don’t think her kids are asking about the sleeping arrangements understanding the sexual implications. I’m thinking Amanda has probably told them that she’s lonely and they may co-sleep, so they might be wondering if she will be lonely at night on her trip. Lonely as in lonely, not as a euphemism for sex, I think they are a bit young to get that. 
 

Otherwise yes I agree with you. 
 

Also I am very sorry for the loss of your husband. I think anyone has sympathy for Amanda’s situation. Losing a much loved spouse is hard in the best of circumstances, but so young, with LITTLE kids- it’s a shock. We aren’t mad at her for wanting adult company or a distraction from being a single parent, but this just screams “BAD CHOICE”.

I agree. Sheila seems nice, and I want her and David to hit it off. If they find genuine affection for each other and although he isn’t an high earner, he can help her provide a better life for her family- I’m not mad at them. They also have being deaf/hard of hearing in common, Sheila knows quite a bit of English, she likely would be able to acclimate to the USA well. She and her son could take ASL lessons.

 

Does David want bio children? Is Sheila open to having more kids?(they didn’t address this)

I liked Sheila more than I expected. So, is it me or is every woman from the Philippines that they show on this franchise from Cebu? At this point it seems to me that Cebu has more people than Manila. Joking aside, she does seem like she cares for him and appreciates what he can offer her family. I know he mentioned he sent her some money, so I was surprised to see how bad the house looked. I did LOL a bit at her parents just outright saying hopefully he can fix our house and her admonishing them that they need to be grateful for the help he already provided. I don't think David is very well off, but if things do work out for the two of them, maybe he can at least get her parents into a place with walls and a roof. I imagine her kids will take some time to bring over to the US (thinking of Tarik and Hazel and her son). I have a feeling since she seems so awesome, David is going to be another Big Ed in terms of skankiness and how he treats her. I hope not. I sort of see this couple as potentially the next Jenny and Larry from several seasons ago.

She just has the one son right? Hazel’s son stayed in the Philippines because his father had custody (he was being raised by the dad/step mom), I don’t think the father of Sheila’s son is in the picture at all, he should be able to come with her to the USA as her minor child. He’s old enough for school, if Sheila comes to the USA and marries David I could see her working any type of job she was qualified for while her son was in school and sending it back to her parents.

This episode gave me far too much information about the cast. Did I really need to know that Jasmine wants Gino to bugger her? Did I need to see the preparatory butt plugs (and is that what butt plugs are used for?) The answer to those questions is a resounding no. I am more convinced than ever that Jasmine has a severe personality disorder that includes a hypersexuality. She doesn't need more sex; she needs treatment. 

Furthermore, Sheila... girl... TMI. I thought I was going to swallow my tongue when she described David's dick. "It's so red!" 💀 David does seem to have some reddishness to his complexion (I've been driven to distraction by how red his nose is) so that rings far too true. And again... did NOT need to have that information. <Jocelyn from Bob's Burgers voice> Grrosss.

There's something off about Amanda. Not quite sure what it is yet, but it seems like she lacks some of the social graces previous cast members have had. Like being surprised and appreciative of flowers on the bed or the teddy bear at the airport. She seemed entirely underwhelmed by both gestures. I understand that she wasn't into the big gross tongue kiss. It reminded me of when Ghost Boy kissed Tina on Bob's Burgers and it was like he was trying to eat her whole face. Dude is NOT a good kisser. You don't just choke a girl with your tongue, jeez!
