Jazz is going off to Harvard, but before she leaves, she gets to observe a surgical procedure. Jazz and Sander throw Neasa and Noah an engagement party. Jazz's family worries about the last time she was leaving for college and hope this will be different.

It's the end of the season as we know it, and I feel fine!

Wait, what? She actually started college before and then dropped out? I thought that she decided that she wasn’t up for going the first time.

Could have skipped the breast removal surgery. Jazz does seem energized by her internship, but I don’t see her having the stamina for medical school.

Don’t believe Jeannette when she says that she is tired of monitoring Jazz.

I am so tired of how much Sander I'm forced to deal with, I feel like we get less and less Jazz as time goes on, probably because "will Jazz go back to college and lose weight" isn't something that they can stretch out for an entire season unless they stretch so hard it's super thin and boring. I don't watch "I am Sander", it's supposed to be "I am Jazz."

So I was sitting in the living room watching this episode with my girlfriend and she hears Noah's mother talking when she's facetiming with Sander. It turns out, my girlfriend knows Noah's mother. She's from our county. And the little town that Noah grew up in is where my girlfriend grew up. Small world.

The hashtag he gave himself a while back is #SanderIs; maybe that will be the name of the spin-off show.

I truly believe Jeanette is tired of dealing with the "disappointment" Jazz has turned out to be in her eyes.

I watch "Dr. Pimple Popper" so when they started the surgery I was like, oh yea onto the next level! And kind of fascinated. And then they took it away.

I was pretty impressed that Jazz didn't flinch...  Maybe she should go into the medical field (as a phlebotomist or something) after all.  That's a rare quality!

So does she have any insight as to what really happened with Noah's family?  I thought we had been told they were completely estranged and tonight we find out she's been Noah's "biggest champion".  PS I'm not buying the engagement story either.

This whole season has been so thin that they've force fed us overloads of Sander, his fake bro (I don't believe these people are IRL friends at all), his fake bro's engagement, some patient where Jazz is allegedly working, fake Trans dating stories with Sander and his trans non gf, it's just a lot of BS filler. I guess they had such little content they had to beef it up with the above and some assorted lame scenes like the tie dye mumus.

Honestly? This ending felt like the series end. I doubt Harvard would allow TLC on campus so I'm thinking if we get another season. It'll be on breaks (Tday, Xmas, Summer break). Do I care? Not really.

Jazz is finally off to college at age 21.  Sander will be Best Man at Noah's wedding aka green-card marriage.  Grandpa will wear his Harvard shirt until Jazz graduates, possibly by age 30 or likely never.  Jeanette and Greg are moving into a 55+ most likely gated community.  Jazz will never see her cats again, but if they are outdoor/indoor cats, there's always cases of animals trekking long and far to find their humans.

What's with all these tag-team phone calls and the way these people end these calls?  I can imagine Sander enthusiastically reading FaceTime Calls for Dummies...

It would have been nice to have filled in some of the blanks about what went wrong with Jazz's initial stab at college, if only because it seems to be a real concern for Greg and Jeanette and the grandparents...seems there's an air of worry that 'it,' whatever 'it' is, might happen again.

Not only was there no shirtless Sander in this episode (a letdown actually, no lie), but we also got Sander in black jeans in Florida in the summer, and something tells me the guy spent hours picking out his wardrobe for the engagement party.

This season was lackluster, and Jazz seemed checked out, for the most part.  Sander's attempts to keep things interesting at least made for a season that I enjoyed watching for all the wrong reasons.  This family's brand is bland, for sure, but at least it was all packaged in a way that will be easy to adapt for community theater, or maybe an off-Broadway musical.  I'll even pen Sander's love song to Hope himself.

I may be out of the loop, but when it looked to me like Noah's fiancee was a nurse/receptionist at the clinic Jazz was interning at.  When they were at main desk talking about her final day, there was a brunet lady, the doctor, and it looks like Noah's fiancee in background.  I'm betting it was a plant story for show.

I would love to know more about Jazz's first run at college.  Gramps and others seem to indicate it was more than just she couldn't handle it.  I always thought it was odd Harvard was demanding 4 team medical team etc.  I hope she didn't consider self harm or something.

Yes, Noah's girlfriend is the sister of the doctor who did Noah's surgery.  And so no surprise that the girlfriend works for the sister/doctor.   When I saw Noah and the girlfriend together at the party, I immediately thought:  she looks much older and could be his mother.

The sister is the office manager.

Jazz doesn't look "checked out" to me; she looks doped up.  It was interesting that Jazz said she needed to replace her Florida doctors INCLUDING a psychiatrist, but when Jeanette ticked off the list of the specialists she'll need in Boston, that specialty was conspicuous in its absence.  I would definitely suspect there was a mental breakdown, if not suicidal threat or intent, given the way the whole family polices her and Jeanette seems to control the meds.

Harvard Grandpa kind of let the cat out of the bag there, didn't he?  Side-eye (no pun intended) from Grandma in that scene.  Expect a spin-off starring #SanderIs.

I can’t believe Jeanette is considering a baby monitor set up so she can watch Jazz all day. It’s bad enough Jeanette is moving for an unspecified time onto Harvard’s campus. Also tired of the grandparents bringing up her weight constantly. I think they just can’t accept having an overweight person in the family. Noah’s mom looked very ill, I hope she was Ok with the traveling. I really think it’s not appropriate for an employee of the plastic surgery place to date a patient, but I also think it is inappropriate for Jazz to be standing next to a patient during surgery. Also thought the doctor seemed distracted by having to explain everything to Jazz.

Remind me to never have any sort of surgery inpatient or out in the state of Florida. Look like very lax surgical precautions  especially during the time of COVID.

I didn't watch this part of the episode (I can't hardly stomach long periods of the show), but I live in South Florida and I can assure you that people are still using very stringent precautions.  Could it have been some kind of re-enactment? So much of this show is staged.

I’m also wondering why a 20-21 year old needs a pulmonologist… Sounds like Harvard is worried about by her psychological state and her physical state.

I have a daughter who went to a pulmonologist when she was the same age, but she had a history of asthma and had to be on chronic medication, including steroids.  I've never heard that Jazz has any chronic lung conditions, so I wondered the same thing.

It is lucky he didn't buy a shirt that said "Harvard Class of '25 Grandpa"!

Perhaps the reason none of this seems real is because Jazz is not displaying normal behavior for an excited/anxious soon-to-be Freshman.  In the last month before I went to college, I was reading up on programs, professors & courses and getting opinions from friends & family members on what options to take, complete with second choices in case any filled up before it was my turn to register.  And communicating with my complete stranger roommate and the RA on my floor.  And memorizing the map of campus so that I could navigate without appearing like a clueless freshman.

Sander gives off the “desperate for anyone to like me” vibe.  If he’s really going to spin off, he needs acting classes and to grow a personality, stat.  None of his storyline “situations” read as believable unless you are of the age that Sesame Street is your favorite show.  “Hey, kids, it’s Sander again!  You know I identify as cisgender and straight, but today we are going to learn how cool it is to seek out transgender folks for friendship with best bro status and possible romance with women who have transitioned from being assigned at birth as male with respect and dignity.  Look here comes our friend Big Bird to talk to us more about inclusiveness and the right way to talk with our transgendered brothers and sisters with respect!”

Thanks, but I’ll pass on the #SanderIs.  My takeaway from the whole show from season one until now is summed up by Jazz’s own words that  she was diagnosed with mental health issues at 12.  Her parents (looking at you momager Jeanette) did as little as possible to get her a good psychotherapist unless it was required for her surgical transition.  She’s 3 years out from that surgery now and at 21 is depressed and struggling with her body image and health issues for a different reason-significant weight gain.   I think that if her parents had sought out a competent psychotherapist at 12, she might have had some time to understand and have a plan in place for the physiological and psychological aspects of transitioning, especially the relationship between, for example, the affects that certain medications can have on weight gain, even without the binge eating.

The “I am Jazz” team brought the conversation to a lot of tables that didn’t even know the meaning of the word transgender, and for better or worse, gave others good examples of what to do and what NOT to do when a loved one is trans and you want to love and support them, not just shun them outright.

Please, TLC, shut down production for a few years so Jazz has a chance to either make or break it at Harvard without having to fit this show into her busy schedule and add to the stress.  I’ll be the first one to buy the pay-per-view episode of her graduation ceremony at Harvard!!!

I didn't think about it this way, but can definitely see this.  Noah looks as if he's 16 years old.  Good for him, bad for his fiance.

Sander was probably the spoiled cutest baby of the family and his life was great until Jazz was born and their mother focused on Jazz. All three of them need therapy.

Whenever I see shirtless Sander, this is what I see: Macys Parade GIF by The 93rd Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Dr. Gallagher’s accent is fascinating.  It’s not very strong, but I like it. Is it Irish?

Yes, she and her sister - the office manager - are Irish.  Methinks the engagement to Noah is all about the green card!  Gallager said they'd been trying to marry her off for a while now...

Jazz supposedly posted a video of Jazz at Harvard, but she's just in a nondescript room on a laptop, so it could be anywhere.  She also does that jumping up in one outfit and landing in another trick that Sander always does, so is HE the one making the video?  Doesn't convince me that she's actually there and all is well...

I started seeing a psychiatrist at 16 on the advice of school counselors, because of long-term depression, anxiety, and problems at home and at school. The psychiatrist who worked with the school district was several miles away, so my mom had to drive me there. She sat in the waiting room and heard every time I raised my voice or cried. Then she wouldn't take me home until I told her everything that happened during the session.

I have a feeling that Jeanette either sat in on Jazz's therapy or somehow violated her privacy. I just can't see her letting Jazz confide in someone else.

I don't know about all that.  I'm sure a parent can't "sit in" on sessions without the adult client's consent.  She would probably just prefer to forget (or at least have her friends forget) that Jazz NEEDS a psychiatrist.

Their relationship seems so intermeshed that I would imagine Jazz would ask her mother to come in with her, or else like CousinAmy, Jeanette would insist on knowing what was said.  Don't forget, Jeanette referred to herself as Jazz's "momager" on one of the last shows ( I think it was the one in Boston where the parents were eating together).  If Jeanette isn't in on whatever's going on with Jazz and her college and her dilatations and her weight loss and her tie-dye and her being the poster girl for trans issues, then what's she going to do with her own life?
