Angela would end up on "Snapped- Hazelhurst Edition" if Michael ever got here. Which he won't. Plus Angela believes the word of Psychic Sue over her probably not legal husband. I can't stand Natalie, but it bothered me a bit to see them pile on her, have Trish show up AGAIN, all the while sitting there thinking: "That asshole flew me here in February 2020, then Covid struck, I was stuck, couldn't leave. We married only to keep me legal bit can't say it out loud. Just get me out of here." What really bothers me is if it's true that the only reason Mike caved in and married Nuttaly is because of COVID and her being stuck here. I can't see why he would have been forced to do so. The entire world was COVID restricted and I'm sure that a ton of exceptions to otherwise normal situations were being and would have been made around the world as well as in the U.S., including Nuttaly being able to stay here for an extended amount of time past the usual visa allotted amount of time without horrific ramifications. I truly believe that Mike could have avoided married her altogether and things would have been just fine. Better, in fact, than they turned out by virtue of him having caved in and married her without really wanting to and then them putting each other through literal hell out of their mutual hatred. 3 Link to comment

I noticed that when Mike and Natalie announced that they were going to split, he was the only one to say he was sorry to hear it. The others just smugly sat there. I hate to tell them, but none of their situation is ideal. No not one. It broke my heart to hear Brandon say that he doesn't visit his parents very often because his wife won't let him. Say what you want about Ron and Betty, but they are still his parents. I can well imagine that they are hurting. As the mother of two sons, I hope to never be in their position. I've totally changed my opinion about Julia since their previous, first season. Ever since they've been on Happily Ever After I see nothing but a nagging bitchy shrew who's no longer as cute/pretty as she originally was. I think that's because the ugly is leaking out more and more. Brandon's no picnic for sure, but what kind of relationship does she think they will have long term if she's responsible for keeping him from his parents, especially if/when Ron passes away, be it from this illness or old age? He will resent her forever and likely dump her. As annoying as they can be, they really are not the worst set of parents in the world. I've yet to have seen them do anything malicious. Manipulative, maybe. Selfish, yes. But evil/mean? No. 7 Link to comment

Frozendiva August 25, 2021 Share August 25, 2021 @Hotel Snarker, maybe some of the other cast is projecting a bit of their own motives for marrying an American. Perhaps they think that she planned for all this to get her Green Card. Shrewd, conniving, calculating, etc. Julia is the she ain’t pretty she just looks that way type. Is Brandon her true love? No clue. She even admitted that she would not reveal her motives for marrying him. Especially on TV. Probably jealous of Fernanda and her date who drives a Maserati. She gets Exterminator Brandon aka farmboy. Yara claims she would rather live in Europe. Tiffany will dump Ronald before a visa comes his way. Asuelu is getting used to life in America. Returning to Samoa will be tough. Is Mykull playing a very long con to get to the US? Life with the Potthasts was a fairy tale til Andrei came along. 4 Link to comment

Parent's are people too, who cross the line at times and should be held accountable. I understand that you are super close to your mom, Nat, but try to muster up some insight into other peoples' lives. I can't remember the other cast member who sided with mama Asuelo, but it showed sheer lack of empathy. Adding to that, besides the "deep-feeling" silence act Natalie tries to portray when someone asks her a question, as she fully demonstrated several times during the TA - the way she flounced by Mike without a word or a look at the end of the show when she was leaving the building, with a smirk of course - was beyond childish. Her big dramatic exit. It only once again showed me this woman is deeply flawed and has no judgement. She should have taken the high road, spoken to Mike in a civil manner and then proceeded for the door. Like a real adult. She really gets off on hurting him. I was impressed with Ronald who held back during Cold-Shoulder Tiffany's outbursts during their segments and also supporting some of the other panel with his comments. There is ZERO instance ever where I would side with Nuttaly. She's nothing but a C U Next Tuesday, immature, vicious, malicious, heartless, vile, stupid, self-serving, scamming, green card hustling, hooker (there, I said it). Mike's best rid of her. Hopefully, she didn't jack his credit card up too high before he finally stops her using it. I hope immigration deports her nasty, vicious ass back to Ukraine so she can resume living in her Cold War era, government projects housing where she spends the rest of her life wishing she had it as good as she had it with Mike in his trailer. 2 4 Link to comment

We've seen kids when they were at ???Tammy's house, and in the episode where the Grinch (Tammy) ruined Christmas at Low and Lisa's house she brought I could have sworn we saw her bringing two kids with her. You have to lose some weight before the surgery, the recovery is often painful and you are on a liquid diet for some time after the surgery (and the effects are seriously unpleasant if you eat solid food too soon, or too much). It's definitely not a magic bullet; many people gain the weight back again because ultimately they don't change their eating habits or address he emotional issues behind their eating, so when they can eat solid food again, they overeat, stretch their stomachs out again and regain all their weight. 2 4 Link to comment

Dr. Proctor on other TLC weight loss programs has explained the required weight loss was because the instruments he uses for surgery aren't long enough to work on the super morbidly obese. Angela is obese, but nowhere near the size of these other patients. She had a ticket to leave the country and she decided not to fly (I'm not sure if it was because Mike told her they still had a chance). If her flight had been cancelled last minute and she had NO WHERE to fly maybe USCIS would forgive her overstay... But, as it stands USCIS doesn't forgive overstays unless you're the spouse of a US Citizen. Mike had two choices: Don't marry Natalie and allow her to deal with being an undocumented migrant (and wash his hands of her) or marry Natalie and allow her to adjust status and get a social security number and a green card (and be financially responsible for her until she works for 10 years OR she becomes a citizen). IIRC Mike said he might marry her in the future and he didn't want to feel rushed. The lawyer they consulted with told them Natalie either had to marry Mike or leave the States... Mike would've been fine if he didn't marry Natalie but as I remember it... Mike was playing with Natalie and she could've left the States before the 90 Days was up... but she decided to stay because Mike was playing her. 3 3 Link to comment

Well Grungy, not according to this: 7 FAM 1450 MARRIAGE OF U.S. CITIZENS ABROAD "In general, marriages which are legally performed and valid abroad are also legally valid in the United States." As regards Libby's family, they're no different than the other two-faced cast members who all say one thing to one person's face, and another behind their backs. Chuck IS a massive shit stirrer, and like father like daughter, so is Libby, who's always run to her family and said one thing behind Andrei's back, yet to his face she always defends him. There's no rational reason to explain Chuck's complete about face regarding Andrei. He can't possibly be THAT great of a worker that he's now deserving of all of Chuck's esteem. That slug didn't work for what, three years until he's finally now gainfully employed? I totally believe his suddenly marvelous work ethic is the result of not wanting to be deported and needing a good job for purposes of his immigration standing. Re Brandon and the 30 minute drive to the farm, what's happened with the world now that anything more than 5-10 minutes away and people deem you geographically undesirable? While married to my first husband, we lived 40-45 minutes away from our parents, yet never failed to visit at least one set of them every week. Re MY parents, neither of them drove, and so we frequently drove the 45 minutes down to them and if we had something planned up our way that included them would drive down and pick them up and bring them back up our way, then drive them back home and then come back up our away. That's 45 minutes times 4. Lazy, lazy, lazy, that's what people are now. Damn straight as regards Julia NOT having the luxury of seeing her parents or friends with the same ease that cry baby, mama's boy Brandon does. As regards Assholu, I don't for one moment believe that HE believes what he likely scriptedly said about Kalani's body being HER body and no one else can tell her what to do with it. Beliefs such as he has don't just go bye-bye in a matter of weeks (or however long it was from the time of that Christmas fiasco visit with his mother and sister and the Tell All). He's definitely NO hero for pretending to believe differently than he was raised to believe. Just like the measles outbreak incident NO WAY changed his perspective about dragging his kids there regardless of the danger. Nor did that likely make him suddenly feel okay about women being doctors. He's a misogynistic POS to his core, and a massive shit stirrer. WTF would that jerk off have given the baby blanket in front of everyone when he darn well KNEW how Kalani felt about more babies right now? He totally wanted his mother and sister to act up against her on his behalf, which those two psycho beyotches DID, then he acts all surprised and pissed off that they acted up. He accomplished exactly what he wanted to accomplish. The big surprise in all of this is who'd a thunk that Assholu had the aptitude to be a manipulative, gaslighting mother effer? Dumb as he is, that took some finesse on his mentally slow part. And with all due respect, just what exactly did Nuttaly ever do to try to make her marriage work? If constantly nagging your spouse, as well as repeatedly calling him fat, stupid, and smelly, bitching about his being a meat eater (I've been a true NON-Nuttaly type of vegetarian for 32 years, and I've NEVER gone in on anyone else for not being like me), and hounding him for not being religious and church going is "working" on your marriage, then yes, she did work on her marriage. As regards her looks, I honestly believe that though Grangela has likely always had an over-inflated sense of herself, deep, deep down I don't think that she really thought she was good enough, and just put on a bold front of thinking she's hot shit. And I also believe most of her bogus self-confidence was grounded in those two boulders, a/k/a breasts, she'd been toting around. Now she's going to be an even worse monster than ever before with the weight loss and the replacement boobage that has now made those mammoth mammaries bouncier and perkier. I don't advocate admiring Angela but weight loss surgery isn't easy and it isn't a magic bullet. Thanks for enlightening me about this. I didn't mean to imply that it's easy, as we've all been commenting up until Grangela had the surgery about how she's not following the protocols of what to eat/not eat, drink/not drink, etc. That does take effort and work. But if one DOES adhere to all the guideline relating to it, significant, dramatic weight loss is guaranteed. I had no idea, however, that it's not permanent. I was under the clearly wrong impression that because of the surgery one would never be able to eat normally or like they used to ever again, hence the impossibility of gaining it all back. What you've enlightened me about is good to know. Link to comment

The Family Libby is too dumb to keep their storyline straight or puff up The Family Business convincingly. In the first season, the Coven bragged about their wealthy husbands. This season, they were fighting over any single penny of profit from The Family Business, and Becky acted like she had some ironclad Do Not Compete clause in her work agreement. On the endless RV trip, Chuck said that he had 3-4 houses in his flipping pipeline, including one that he just acquired from an auction and the one in which Andrrrei was demolishing the refrigerator. That was in November or December (before Blocky-Head Eleanor's late January birthday). At that time, the Coven and Charlie were working full-time for him. (Jenn seemed to have joined The Family Business about midway through the season (or post-divorce), when she declared that she found and assessed the properties to flip.) The tell-nothing was taped in May or June. Andrrrrei said that he and Chuck have already flipped a few houses together by then. Charlie reported that he had been canceled from the family and had his own business. Becky may have already quit The Family Business, as her husband threatened in the last episode and as her absence on the tell-all suggested. And, Chuck and Andrrrei obviously didn't need Jenn to find the houses, because they managed to acquire more faster than she ever did. We're supposed to believe that Andrrrei easily displaced Charlie, Jenn and Becky - in their full-time jobs, corporate officer positions, and all the specialized skills and certifications they claim to have - and increased productivity and profit tenfold in 3-6 months. In addition to her demanding full-time property manager gig, Libby took on staging all the houses - as a work-from-home mother without a babysitter, except when she needed a manicure. Finally, even though Chuck did not have $100K in liquidity when Andrrrei asked for a loan, Chuck must have had more than that to increase their inventory so much and so quickly, especially after Charlie's last two projects had just lost money. (On the RV trip, Chuck said that his goal is to gross $100K and net $50K profit for each house.) The family can't follow the money to make their story sound or look believable. I don't really believe anything about the family business. It's demonstrated that they live off of high debt. Assuming they're doing business locally, and not Miami, the average home price is only $275k. Split five ways, even eight houses a year isn't going to be a lot of money after fees, taxes, the initial buying price, materials, contractors, etc, are accounted for. 4 3 Link to comment

A friend's husband had the Roue N Y (or whatever it's called) and did very well, but did start gaining some back, through eating at night, and extra meals, but didn't gain a big amount back. He was in a support group that met in member's houses, and had pot lucks every meeting, and his wife said that you would be appalled at what people brought for her to reheat for the group to share. After hosting a few of the meetings, the wife said she wasn't going to help any more, since the group members were mostly telling each other how to defeat the surgery. I suspect that Angela will probably defeat her surgery, and end up worse off than she was before, but with huge boobies plastered on. Edited August 27, 2021 by CrazyInAlabama 5 Link to comment

So, she admitted that the surgery and preparation are hard, while also suggesting that the timing is convenient for her. She had to remind the audience that she is a self-sacrificing martyr. She also had to suck up to Angela, like she was rushing some sorority. And, as @magemaud noted, Tiffany was larger than ever at the tell-all. It was shocking, especially if she had to lose weight before the surgery. 5 Link to comment

I loved the character of Andy Travis (I swear I did not look that up) as I was a HUGE WKRP fan back in the day. It's so odd to me that there are actually people who don't agree on her, LOL. The funniest thing is that I never watched WKRP. I wasn't a fan of the show. When I met Gary I kind of thought he seemed familiar from something, but I hadn't quite placed where/what I knew him from, but he was so handsome and had such great hair, LOL. A very sexy man who was also very down to earth (he was originally from Dayton, Ohio and still had those great values from where he grew up). We met when he was doing "Pirates of Penzance" on Broadway ca 1981-1982, and I was on vacation during college break visiting family and friends in New York in the summertime. I was having lunch by myself (because all my friends had day jobs and couldn't entertain me during the days) at Tavern on the Green restaurant, and he was 1-2 tables over from me dining with another man. We had been making eye contact all meal long, and then suddenly there were two legs standing next to my table, and he oh so suavely was saying to me, "May I have the pleasure of making your acquaintance." So old fashioned and gentlemanly I nearly swooned, LOL. We made small talk and then he asked what I was doing for the rest of the day. I told him I was going to try to get matinee tickets to see "Dreamgirls". He then asked me if I would be interested in coming to see his show, "Pirates of Penzance", and that if I was he'd leave a ticket for me at the box office. I said yes, he did, and that was the start of my knowing him. He had attached a note from him for me to come backstage after the show, which I got to watch from 3rd row center. When I went backstage he introduced me to the rest of the cast at that time: Patrick Cassidy, Maureen McGovern, Kay Ballard are the only ones I remember off the top of my head. It was really awesome. The photo that I posted of me with him was from 1984 when he stopped off to visit me in Florida on his way to attend the closing ceremonies of the Olympics back in Los Angeles after having just finished performing as Chance Wayne in Tennessee Williams "Sweet Bird of Youth." 7 Link to comment

Yes, very lovely, fond memories. I hope that I don't come across like one of those over-the-hill high school football stars still trying to relive their glory days in their older age, LOL. My greatest regret from back then is how super-shy I was. Gary was approximately 16 years older than me when we met, and I was not the most scintillating conversationalist back then because I was so shy. I was still in college when I first met him, and while he was telling me about a camera safari he had been on in Africa, I'm telling him about what one of my professors, Sister Eileen Rice, or Sister Jean Lefevre, or Father MacDonald had said in class that week (I was attending a small, private catholic college at the time). We were not quite equals, LOL. Michael was bullied multiple times during BOTH parts of the Tell All, which made me so crazy how that was even allowed to occur. Shaun is as much a culprit as all of the others, and even more so because she if nobody else should have shut that shite down right off the bat. Grangela is a bulldozer of a bully. She just runs roughshod over whomever she pleases with no fear of consequences, because TLC has never reined her in. Then when she additionally went in on Aunt Lydia I was absolutely appalled. So low class. Aunt Lydia, however, conducted herself with grace and class. Maybe it's not totally her place to say anything, but if she didn't say anything on Michael's behalf he would have had no one at all to back him up. And whatever she has said has been totally out of auntly love for him, and not for any sicko reasons of wanting to "be" with him as Grungy was trying to imply. Only her filthy mind would go there. Nuttaly and the root beer. Yes. So close-minded as to not be willing to accept what Michael was telling her about "beer" being nothing more than a word, but not that it had any alcoholic content. She always wants to be right and talk over him and never listen to anything other than what off-base things she chooses to zone in on. It's totally talking to a wall with her. 6 Link to comment

Whenever my friends and I would see her in anything on TV they would always tease me, "There's your competition," because I used to date Gary Sandy, and Gary had been in a brief relationship with Loni Anderson back in the day before I had met him and gone out with him on and off for a period of three years or so. That is so cool! Truly one of my favorite shows of all time. "As God is my witness, etc....." Do you know where he is now? Link to comment

I will say that both ladies are gorgeous, @Xebug67 - I gotta stick up for my Minnesota native Loni Anderson! (Although she is pulled.......tight, lol.) 2 hours ago, Xebug67 said: Just more proof of how exemplary Mrs. Hanson's efforts and results were. Aww.......shucks. I think, to me, I was READY. And I was not a heavy kid nor heavy young adult. I was not as active as I could be, then had kids, didn't lose the weight......some know the drill. 3 hours ago, CrazyInAlabama said: He was in a support group that met in member's houses, and had pot lucks every meeting, and his wife said that you would be appalled at what people brought for her to reheat for the group to share. I would not have been surprised but then again I went to two support groups and stopped. What? You are crying because you can't swing through McD's and order a Big Mac Meal then eat a sheet cake? You didn't connect those dots? (Guess I left my empathy at home those two nights, lol!) 19 minutes ago, Opine said: That is so cool! Truly one of my favorite shows of all time. I really hope Angela is gone for good, but money talks, in terms of ratings. 5 Link to comment
MajorNelson August 26, 2021 Share August 26, 2021 All of you have summarized this despicable cast. For Nutalie and Mike, I was more interested at their trying to work out their two "religions" when she was back in Ukraine, and disappointed there was zero mention of it this season. Julia used to be a dancer, loved big cities etc. Her desperation to come to America by marrying farmboy boggles the mind but shows her level of conniving. Unless he gets with the program, he will be in the rear view mirror. "Irreconcilable differences." I also can't stand the fake no-mentions of these people's reality....Asuelu's siblings, Brandon's siblings, Tammy's kids, and an org chart for Chuck's business, as well as Mike's insurance situation when Natalie had her nose procedure. What was the copay? Since she arranged it all, even ditching him the day of, you'd have thought he might say he wasn't very interested in spending $5000 or whatever at that time given the way she was behaving. No words for Angela, but TLC keep her off my screen!!! Also kudos to @sile and @Xebug67 for mentioning Barbara Eden, 'my' Jeannie! 4 Link to comment

lilysmom August 26, 2021 Share August 26, 2021 I admit I enjoy the comments, snark, etc. directed at all of the characters on these shows just as much as anyone. (And I say "characters" because I believe for many of them, they ARE playing a part.) They all knew what they were signing up for when they agreed to be on the show. However, I do have a problem when innocent children are included in that snark. Calling an innocent baby a block head (IMO( is going a little too far. She did not ask to be on this show. Her parents chose to include her. The shape of her head is nothing that she or her parents have any control over. And, personally, I think she is a beautiful baby. For years, schools have been working on educating our children to accept each other regardless of what disabilities or issues they may have. Bullying is a major issue in every school today. What's important is what is on the inside of a person, not some perceived flaw. Be kind! 7 Link to comment
