Ha, this episode is already worth watching just for the second clip above. Finally, an adult questions Aria about her inappropriate relationship with Ezra!

It's a rare thing to see in Rosewood.

I'm kind of hoping she'll have a Hercule Poirot type scene where she gathers the Liars, Mona's team and the parents in a drawing room and goes through the evidence until A is revealed.  Who will turn out to be, oh, let's say, Ben.

I forget: does Ella know Ezra and Aria hooked up before he stopped teaching at Rosewood High, heck, before she entered her junior year? Ezra having hooked up with Aria after stopping being her teacher is still pretty iffy but I would die to see an adult actually react to Ezria in all its gross glory.

I have hope that the fact that the writers have Aria reiterate time and time again that lie so Ezria can seem minimally acceptable means someday we'll get to see that dream sequence Aria had with Ezra getting arrested come reality..

The Liars might not even though she's just doing her damn job.

I have nothing against them, but the only way I will like Tanner or Holbrook is if one of them asks the Lairs, "So who do you think A is?"  Seriously they know about MonA, hasn't anyone considered that the girls are so evasive because A is after them.

A graduated from implanting a message in Hanna's tooth to implanting a camera in Spencer's eye!

Even if they do, they're just going to get more bs lies.  Not to mention this series casts a dark light on people having answers or actually asking questions because the series would actually have to move forward and we still have at least 2 more seasons to get through before that.

I'm just sick of them acting like people asking questions is the worst thing in the world and that lying will make everything better when it hasn't at all in 5 freaking seasons.

It figures the one criminal  Rosewood police catch doesn't actually exist.

The scene between Ella and Byron was actually affection and beautiful.

Since when was A covered under any insurance plan?

I am starting to think every house in Rosewood is haunted.

The Emily/Sydney scene was fun.  Now THAT is the Emily that Alison groomed into Hell Minion she wanted.  A part of me feels sorry for Sydney then I remember that having Emily in your face 24/7 is kinda the dream.

The Two Jenna scene was funny.  I did a double take for a second and then I remembered who she the "other" Jenna was and laughed.   Spencer repeating Jenna and the other Jenna was finny as hell.

Aria were you jealous that Ezra might actually have been trolling the halls for dates?

I want an episode where Caleb goes around punching all the icky men of Rosewood.

I really wonder what Alison has on Noel that he's willing to put up with her crap. He seemed to think that Alison blew up Jenna's house to get rid of him. I don't think he's that bad because he didn't put up much of a fight for those pictures.

Link to comment

I think he either trust that Spencer will hide it well or hes scared as shit that Spencer will kill him.

Is Troian getting punished for talking bad about Ezra? That wig is tired looking. Thank God Spencer talked some sense to Caleb and Caleb knocked that douche out. And Aria got her head out of her ass and apologized.

That Noel and Spencer confrontation and the Jenna's vs Spemily was awesome.

Yea I think he and Spencer kinda reached like a mutual understanding. They both seem to understand that Alison cannot be trusted lol.

Also I wonder how Jenna got a hold of the pictures to begin with. Is she with A?

Didn't Donna LaDonna say that Shana gave them to Jenna?

Anyone laughed so hard that four brunettes had were matching with each other and had on shades? Why was Emily and Donna LaDonna wearing shades?

I loved all the sunglasses. And Troian cracked me up with her delivery of "They're in there! Jenna! And JENNA!" Almost makes up for the bad wig. What is UP with that thing?

A's trick with the eye chart was clever. I can't decide if I like it better than the one with the all A-letters in the Alphabits cereal.

I don't know how eye exams work in Rosewood, but when I go they don't put the drops in your eyes while you are out in the waiting room, the drops don't work that fast and you can't see to drive right after. Just sayin'.

Is Holly pregnant? She's looking kinda thick. Not that she looks bad or anything. She's still beautiful.

Sydney's lips are so distracting. Especially when she was making a weird face after Emily threatened her.

How is Emily going to have time to coach with all the A and Alison drama? They barely go to school as it is.

Man, everyone is just over all this crap in this episode. Spencer? Over it, and ready to cut somebody. Caleb? Over it, and ready to punch creepy guys in the face (the real reason Ezra hasn't been around lately! He knows he's on the list). Emily? Over it, and ready to get all up in that weirdo Sydney's face.

I love it!

I've definitely recieved eye drops in the waiting room before so I didn't think it was that weird. IS that not common?

I've had that done. Specifically, I've had the initial eye exam, then the dilation drops and a short time sitting out in the waiting room (since they take about ten minutes to really kick in) while they do an exam on another person, then I went back in. I haven't always had that happen, I think it's what offices do when they overbook: a little shuffling. And that eye doctor's looked kind of busy so I didn't think anything either of Spencer chilling with Ray Charles glasses out there.

I've never once had that happen. They always dilate me in a dimly lit room and leave me there alone while the drops take effect.

I saw this description in a TVLine recap, but saw the resemblance on my own as soon as they showed him. He looks like an evil Zachary Knighton from "Happy Endings."

I'm so glad they nipped the Hanna victim-blaming storyline in the bud as soon as possible. I wouldn't have forgiven Aria that easily, but Hanna is a better person than I am.

Ella go find a husband in Out of Town, the choices have to be better there, right? I'm glad they acknowledged the victim blaming story and that Ashley found out about Hanna's drinking. I was beginning to worry that they were going to ruin the only real parent in Rosewood.

The two Jenna's scene was hilarious. Then all four of the Brunettes were wearing sunglasses indoors. I can see why Jenna choose Sydney as her new spytoy, with a car like that, that girl is loaded. So Noel thinks Alison blew up Jenna's house? I'm glad Spencer finally called Alison crazy. She is really telling everyone like it is this season. Keep on going Spencer!  Although the first question that should've been asked of Jenna and other Jenna is why they are wearing the same outfit?

I still love Emily's intense hate for everything Jenna. You can stalk her and almost murder her and she's fine, but if you're friends with Jenna, she unleashes her inner hellbeast.

Caleb said he was living in Toby's step-mother's cabin. Toby's step-mother is Jenna's mother and none of them question that?

A stepped up their game, hiring someone to take the fall for Ali's lies so they can have complete control over her. Also I don't think I want to know what Ali was doing with Hanna's doorknob.

Was I the only one who felt Hanna's victim-blaming storyline felt a little off.  It just felt weird to me that the whole thing was crammed into like two episodes.  If they wanted to explore that issue/storyline then why not take a four or five episodes and have it develop gradually, maybe have the situation with Zach get worse as the Hanna's drinking got worse or at least introduce the idea that Zach is a creep before he actually hit on Hanna.  On the other hand, if they didn't want to spend a lot of time on such a serious issue, then why include the storyline at all.  Either way don't have that one issue take over Hanna's storyline for two episodes and then just move on from the storyline.  I feel like the storyline was rushed and all they did was remind us that we can't stand Aria.  She did apologize but still that freak out last episode was way out of line.

Put me on the "what the hell is wrong with Spencer's hair?" train, did Troian cut her hair so they put her in a wig?

I thought the wrap up of the Aria/Hanna thing was a little too quick, especially Ella knowing immediately what the problem was. It's like the storyline was just there to give Caleb somebody to punch.

Did they have Spencer get kicked in the eye just so they could put her in the ophthalmologist's office? Why was Sydney dressed like Jenna to begin with? As usual, more questions than answers.

I am so tired of Ali.

Noel is in love with Alison thats why he's taking her crap..

I have a few questions about this episode...

1. What was Noel doing blasting that recording with his window down where anyone can listen in?

2. How did Noel know that Spencer was going to be at the lakehouse?

3. Noel knows that Rosewood is a shady town with shady thieving folk, so why is he leaving valuable leverage material in his glove compartment?

I have to admit I feel sorry for Caleb.. readjusting to the normal world after living in a supernatural world where demons are trying to kill him must be so hard.

Aria getting totally defensive about being questioned about Ezra was HILARIOUS. "He wasn't dating other students, just me!" Tanner continuing to give no fucks makes me love her even more.

I just went to the ophthalmologist a few days ago and I can tell you that having your pupils dilated does not make you see double or make your vision blurry. Yes, it would be difficult for Spencer to text, but it wouldn't have made her hand look fuzzy. I have been going to the same retinal specialist for over ten years and they always put the eye drops in after they check my vision in the exam room. Then I go sit in the waiting room waiting for the drops to kick in and they bring me back to see the doctor. For the record, I always drive myself there and back. I just make sure to bring my darkest sunglasses so the sun isn't blinding me when I leave. The drops do make it hard for me to read my phone or a computer screen for about an hour or so.

Why the hell were Sydney and Jenna wearing matching outfits at the ophthalmologist? Ha, Thing One and Thing Two!

Oh, Caleb. How could Hanna not suspect that he was going to confront Zach? As soon as she told him what happened, he said he was leaving to get food. He couldn't have been any more obvious. But I love how sweet he is. When Hanna said she didn't tell him sooner because it was embarrassing. Caleb said, "Yeah, for HIM." Ha!

As a feminist, I feel like I should be offended that Caleb went all HULK SMASH on Zach but I wasn't at all. Zach is the kind of asshole who needs his ass kicked. Dude, you are a grown ass man hitting on a high school girl. I know this is Rosewood and all so that's just par for the course, but at least hit on high school girls who aren't friends with your fiancée's daughter. Giving his phone number to Hanna really was just asking for an ass kicking so I'm fine with Caleb punching him. I don't think it was because Hanna is his girlfriend. Caleb is the only guy in Rosewood who understands that it is gross and inappropriate to try hooking up with a high school student (take note, Ezra). I don't care if that girl is leaving you naked pictures of herself - as the adult, it is YOUR job to say nope, that's not going to happen. Feel free to punch more guys, Caleb!

I loved Spencer insisting that Noel Kahn's pictures of Alison had to be in a safe place. How about making some copies before you hide them in this so-called safe place? Despite being soooo smart, Spencer was dumb enough to go to the lake house by herself so I was not at all surprised that Noel Kahn popped up. I do love that his idea of hiding is just to sit in a chair with a sheet over him.

Hahahaha, how hilarious was it for Ella to say that Aria was her fashion guru while Aria was standing there in her tutu lampshade dress?

I'm so glad that Ella and Byron just hugged and didn't hook up. I think he has finally moved out of his self-righteous phase - or at least he stepped out of it long enough to feel bad for Ella and be emotionally supportive.

Omg FINALLY. After brief glimpses of his name or of his name being said by others for weeks we FINALLY get to see Noel Kahn in all his foine-ness. Thank you, show!

I actually enjoyed last night's ep. What's not to like about Hanna just leaving Ali to deal with Jenna and her flute in the music room; Jenna and Sydney dressing alike (snaps to ElectricBoogaloo who called them Thing 1 and Thing 2!) just because; the awkward meet up at Rosewood's only eye doctor with all four girls wearing shades inside and dressed alike; Spencer pretty much the entire episode although she did gave Noel Kahn's hand a boo boo; Ali realizing how quickly she's losing her grip on the Liars; Noel Kahn's beautiful blue eye peeping out from the hole in the sheet at the lakehouse; Hanna and Caleb continuing to rock my world with their awesome-ness; Caleb punching Zach; Ella dumping Zach and being comforted by a non-a-hole-ish Byron; and finally...Emily going apeshit on Sydney right at the end. That was BEAUTIFUL.

Ella telling Aria that she is Ella's fashion guru made me laugh so hard and stamp my feet in glee it scared the dog.

ETA: Noel Kahn can break into my bedroom any time he wants to. That is all.

"You're my fashion guru" what?  Only if it's in the "do the opposite of what she says" sense.

I thought it was werid that Noel was doing all this suff for Ali, so it was nice to find out that she's blackmailing him.  Or at least sort of find out.  Spencer said, "what does she have on you?"  He didn't reply, but his body language basically confirmed it.  Also, it's nice to know that Ali hasn't been redeemed at all, she's up to her old tricks of using peoples' secrets to control them.

Loved Jenna's conversation with Alison.  "How did you steal [shana] away from me?"  "I didn't do that; you did."  Pretty much mirrors what Ali is doing to the other PLLs (except Aria who is still in her own little world).

I used to think Tanner was a competent detective, but she blew it big time by having Ali watch the interrogation / confession of Hot!Fake!Kidnapper.  She should have done a line-up; now any testimony from Ali identifying him is tainted and a defense lawyer could have it tossed.  Then again, maybe Tanner is playing a long-con on Ali, knew that the confession was a fake from the beginning, and is testing Ali to see if she "confirms" his story.  Hell, until the A tag, I was convinced Tanner set up the fake confession specifically to trap Ali.

I'm seeing a reunion between Ella and Byron in the near future, assuming HMC is staying around.  Their scene was really sweet.

Does anyone else feel like since Ali got back the show seems more like a typical highschool drama (except they don't actually spend much time in school). I miss the old A and the texts lol. I feel like they used to spend much more time trying to figure out who A is and coming up with more or less brilliant plans. Now the only time they actually do something is if they get clues handed to them on a silver platter...

We need more Noel Kahn episodes!

I'm not a fan of the Zach storyline this season. It just seems like he was too good to be true last season, so obviously he had to be made into a creep this season. And there were no indications before... He's been around like forever and never hit on any young girl before going to Europe? So can't believe that.
If I was Hanna, I wouldn't have forgiven Aria that easily. Aria was really mean and even if I can understand Aria wanting Zach to be a great guy for her mum, Hanna is one of her best friends. And you don't treat your friends like that if they tell you they got hit on by some creep. But then again Aria does live in her own little world where she is queen of everything, so I probably shouldn't have expected her to apologize at all

Love Tanner questioning Ezras relationship with Aria! Finally someone realizing how weird that really is. And how no one even suspected a relationship between them always puzzled me. It's not like they were doing a great job of hiding it.

I get that Ali feels cornered, but I would think coming clean to the cops would still be the best decision. Half of rosewood seems to know the truth anyway.  At some point someone in the police is going to find out the truth.

what I like about Hanna and Caleb is that it really is an equal relationship. As a feminist, I don't get upset when Caleb goes into "Protect Hanna!!!" mode because Hanna goes into "Protect Caleb!!!" mode just as often. As Spencer said, they have a tendency to lift each other up and bring out the best in each other.

IMK has said that Toby has always been Spencer's, and to an extent the Liars, moral compass. I never bought that. But I do think Caleb has been the Liars common sense. "It's embarrassing for an old man to hit on a high school student."

Also, I'd think that someone writing a message to Zach for Hanna (either A or Mona's Army) is going to come into play at some point. But I'm glad Aria and Hanna have made up. I love this show because I love the girl's friendship. Ali's put a dark shadow on it, but I want the girl's united..with or without her.

I love the Ali character. There's so much "is she or isn't she" and the actress has the ability to make you feel bad and sympathize for Ali, but then show you how horrible Ali can be.

I'm interested in seeing a Noel Kahn/Spencer Hastings alliance. I'm interested in seeing Noel Kahn actually. Also it shows you that Ali doesn't keep him informed. I do think it's safe to say that Ali did not blow up Toby's house, simply because of the A message received after. Unless Ali is pulling a mona and faking getting harassed by A. But I really don't think that's the case.

I don't buy that either, unless she's saying they have a fucked up compass.  I'm in the camp that has yet to forgive Toby for having a hand in Spencer losing her mind, and then never apologizing adequately.  So, if morality means never having to say you're sorry... Yes to Caleb with the common sense, and thank you, Caleb, for being the only person so say, "I believe you, Hanna."  I personally am glad this Zack story line isn't going to drag on and on, but I'm glad they covered a few things:  1) that someone believes Hanna; 2) Zack got clocked by Caleb; 3) men (and probably women) who sexually harass or abuse underage teens are likely to do it more than once.  I thought this last was an important point because it's true, and I really appreciated that Ella recognized that two incidents probably pointed to a larger pattern of creep behavior, and she wasn't going to stick around to give him a chance to prove he's misunderstood, or worse, that he's "changed."  This recognition of a pattern out of incidents with two girls makes for an interesting contrast with Aria's protestations about Ezra to Tanner at the start of the episode.  She swore "he's not some creep" who roamed the halls looking for high school girls, but he is the creep who had an ongoing affair with one high schooler after he'd had a thing for another high schooler that he wanted to know more about.

Loved Spencer in this episode!  She was badass and funny in true Spencer fashion, and I got my much-awaited Spencer-Noel Kahn face off.  It was fantastic, starting with him being so creepy under that sheet.  It was hilarious (really? a sheet with one eye hole seems like a bad Halloween costume cliche) and scary at the same time.  I am totally fascinated by Noel claiming that he suspects Ali might have tried to kill him, getting rid of evidence and someone who knows too much in one fell swoop.  If Noel really thinks this (of course he could be lying), then that means he thinks Ali is more sinister than anyone else has suspected.  Way to be hot, Noel, but learn to be smarter about hiding your shit and being shady if you want to get away with it.

I did so many double takes during last night's episode I feel like I have whiplash this morning.

1. WTF was that on Spencer's head? I know a lot of you had mentioned the wig in previous episodes, but I didn't notice it until last night. Holy crap, that was terrible.

2. Hanna was way too quick to forgive Aria.

3. Emily was freaking scary confronting Sydney. Like A-levels of scary.

4. Caleb is awesome and I hope this is the end of his drunk/poor me storyline and he gets back to getting shit done in regards to A.

5. Who the heck was that in the police interrogation room and how did he know all of Ali's lies about her kidnapping? Even Ali looked shocked.

Who listens to surveillance in the car with the windows rolled down? That was hilarious.

I loved the two Jennas scene. Spencer's wig made her look like the third Jenna.

Sydney's explanation to Emily made plenty of sense. Emily looked like the asshole to me. She just brushed off the fact that Ali blinded Jenna. So what if Sydney was spying? So has half the town. Emily just seemed so desperate to see Ali as some innocent victim.

Loved the Spencer/Noel scene. They would make a good team. At least they agree that Ali is the problem.

Like others I thought Tanner might be setting up Ali by letting her view the interrogation. What happened to a line-up?

I have had enough Ali. She was way more tolerable in flashbacks.

I'm pretty sure a lot of stuff happened in this episode, but I can't process it yet because...

1. Emily is a bad ass with ridiculously good hair. (I also liked the callback to Emily really knowing the sensation of being under water that long.)

2. Spencer got so serious that she'd cut a bitch. Literally. That's how over this bullshit she is. I like that there was a progression to how frantic she got, until that point when it was just beautiful. Skewer them, Spencer!

3. I'm not a fan of Sydney because she came on the show way too soon after Shanna and has a pretty similar role, but Jenna and Not!Jenna were intentionally trying to look identical, and that's interesting. It's a mirror of Ali and CeCe (which is a relationship that still has so many unanswered questions, and I hope we do get more, even if CeCe left the show - or has she?).

Maybe someone should inform Spencer and Noel that you can, you know, copy photographs. This way each of you can have blackmail material. Even multiple copies of it in multiple lasagna boxes.

Not that I understand how they can convincingly prove the date the photos were taken in the Photoshop age. Is Alison holding newspapers so that their dates can be clearly seen on these photos or something?

Emily sure makes me laugh. Not the intended effect of her smackdown of Sydney, though, I believe. Not sure why she and Spencer immediately decided that Sydney must be Jenna's minion instead of her acquaintance. She has known Emily for like five days of show time, is she supposed to officially declare her friends so Emily knows them? And that coach threat. So, so hilariously dumb. Hey, Em, if you think Sydney came specifically to spy on you, maybe she doesn't give a damn about swimming in the first place.

I think it's miracle Alison isn't being punched in the face on a daily basis. "Our group is falling apart"? And whose fault is that, you psycho?

Spencer is regaining her form and Hanna continues being the bright spot this season but there isn't much hope for the show to recover unless they get rid of Alison for good or at least the Liars kick her out of their lives for good.
