Right. Travis is talking about how they would be able to afford a house in Tennessee by using the rental income from the NJ house. There was no discussion or even a mention if the house in NJ was currently rented out or not.

Baby's name is Harvey Gray.

Oh gawd. Harvey. Cute for foster kittens or dogs, not for a kid. And Gray is a color, not a name (someone tell the Smiths, too).

Watch these shitheads go for all H names.

They said they liked how Hailey and Harvey went together. What will they come up with for the inevitable third baby? 🙄

Growing up my best friend had a pet rabbit named Harvey. That's all I think of when I hear the name.

All I can think of is Harvey chocolate bars from A League of their Own. I have a friend whose name is Harvey. He is in his 80's. Most people call him Harv.  Henry and Harry would have been better choices in my opinion But their kid not mine. Where does the Gray come from? They picked a perfect name for Hailey. This poor kids gets the short end of the stick in names.

All I can say is at least it is a "real" name not a made up name like Zade, Kade and Slade.

Apparently for boys' names ending in Y, Harvey is in the top ten.

Not a name I would pick.

It's a very 'old man' name, IMO.  I guess it's better than Baby Huey.

It's close to Katie's middle name (Grace), and Hailey had Travis's middle name (James).

Hmmm, maybe they should go with Graceson. Probably too 'girly' for a Fundy boy. But Grayson would work.

I wonder if Harvey was chosen because its (very) loosely related to Travis. Travis to Travey to Harvey. Trav and Harv.

I had an Uncle Harvey (WWII veteran) and he was great. But even in the 1960s I thought it was an old man's name. Maybe it's coming back.

Names are so personal.  I am thinking that if we all submitted our own names, the names of our children and grandchildren, if any, there would be a huge gasp as to what our parents chose and what we chose.  And half would say "nice names" and half would say "awful how could you".

I named my first born an "old man" name after my grandpa.  Now said son is almost an old man himself and has always loved his name and none of the nicknames that went with it.  He was never made fun of.

i think its wonderful to pass family names along.  And, as we all know, names go in and out of fashion.  These days, names that were considered 'old' when I was a kid are now the current fashion while names that were quite popular when I was a kid, including my own, are the 'old people' names.

If they're naming the baby Harvey as a tribute to a loved one or they simply like the name; I've got no objection.  However, it looks like they chose the name purely as part of some silly name game using initials.  I think that's  dumb.

Travis and Katie have been hanging around the Bates a little too much. In the latest Youtube video when Hailey says her shorts are blue Travis says they ain't blue. Then they are off to the mall with a watermelon strapped to Travis's stomach to simulate what pregnancy feels like. He is losing brain cells by the minute. His parents must be horrified when they see this.

Yep and notice how Hailey is now on the Layla diet of chicken nuggets and sugar. Katie will buy Hailey her own giant ice cream cones rather than just give her a spoonful of whatever mom's having, like most parents would do. It'll be a race between the Clark and the Stew kids to see which set ends up pre-diabetic first.

Interesting - I don't watch K&T as much so wasn't aware it was going in this direction. Not entirely shocking though. Katie has the maturity of a 14 year old who is influenced by whoever she is around. In NJ she was around her inlaws who appear to take parenting pretty seriously. So she became the type of mom who dotes on her kid - not just in the putting them on IG way the Bates do - but making them meals, sticking to nap times, generally doing what's good for them. Not that K&T didn't grab plenty of CFA in NJ, but she also used to cook simple meals - bc often she'd shoutout her MIL or SIL for some simple recipe.

Well now she sees bestie Carlin daily or at least 3-4 times a week and when she sees Carlin giving her kids Doritos and calling it lunch, why should she make a grilled cheese and cut up a vegetable?

Plus the inevitable "competition" between the sisters, Carlin has prided herself on getting the kids a treat every time they leave home. I mean 1 yr old Layla routinely got cake pops every time they went to Sbux. Ice cream obsessed Katie can't be left behind. Of course if they are getting ice cream, her 18 month old needs her own giant cone.

Too bad for Hailey, had they stayed in NJ she would've had parents and grandparents who paid attention to her, fed her well, generally looked at for her. Instead she gives up Grandma and Grandpa Clark for ditzy Aunt Carlin and Gil & Kelly who didn't even raise their own kids and do not care and just show up to take pictures to prove they are loving grandparents.

  1. Travis may be a fundie but before the move to hillbilly country he exhibited more intelligence than now. He and Katie seem to be hanging out with C&E and party party party. I hope his parents call him back to NJ and read him the riot act about being a responsible adult. It's sad to see how he and Katie have regressed being around the Bates.

Simulate meaning imitating the appearance of being pregnant. I don't know to whom he was directing this  but i guess it was just for content for the Youtube video.

Like most people watching aren’t already fully aware of what it’s like to be pregnant? What a fucking chud.

Everything is performative with these idiots. Performative religion, performative morals, performative childbirth, performative parenting. I swear "reality" TV and "influencers" are blights on the world.

How common is it for a newborn to be transferred to another hospital? That’s terrifying for all involved.

Depends on the hospital.  Some hospitals are not equipped to care for newborns who need anything other than regular nursery care.  They can keep an eye on a kid who is breathing fast or otherwise a little off for a few hours; but, at that point, they do not have the staffing or facilities to continue.  Obviously the hospital they were at did not have an NICU or even a special care unit as part of the nursery.  They probably also did not have enough nursery staff to provide one on one care for a newborn for more than a few hours.  Also, a kid who has ongoing difficulty breathing needs further assessment after a few hours like serial chest films, blood work, maybe IV antibiotics.  Many hospitals don't have a lot of specialized equipment that newborns would need for ongoing care.

The pediatricians practicing at a hospital like the one they were at are also probably generalists and do not have specialized training in neonatology.  They know the basics and can do the initial resuscitation and evaluation, but as time passes and the baby doesn't improve, they need the specialist to take over which means sending the kid to a bigger facility.

This is very common particularly in rural areas.

Given how high risk all these chicks are and given that Z&W's kid, 2 of Josie's kids, and I think Layla (though that may not have been at birth) have ended up in the NICU, why on earth don't these chicks all deliver at the hospital that it attached to the children's hospital. That is an option in Knoxville. I mean Katie was seeing a high risk dr for her first kid in NJ. Did all of that logic fly out the window bc now the inlaws aren't there to helpfully suggest such things? And FFS I don't believe it's a money thing - they buy new cars and vacations like they're going out of style, to say nothing off all the dining out, Sbux, and manis/pedis. Is health not worth spending money on? Why . . . bc God? But then is God telling you you need 6 vacations/yr?

I imagine Travis and Katie are on whatever health plan his parents have, so yeah, finances would definitely not be an issue.

It honestly feels like they've lost whatever brain cells they had when they moved back to the hive. They used to give a shit about Hailey having a proper schedule and now they're hanging at Carlin's all hours of the night.

And the arrival of Harvey barely seems to have made a blip on the Bates Family radar, whereas if they were in New Jersey, the Clarks would've made sure they had the best care soon as the pee stick tested positive.

I watched the latest Stewart family blog where Evan was acting like a complete idiot during the power outage. He was putting the pressure on Katie and Travis to spend the night with them and make a party out of it. Katie was off to the side almost in tears saying she was 36 weeks pregnant and she wanted to go home. And I swear Travis was grinning and not once did he say we are going home to Evan. Since Travis and Katie have moved to Knoxville, Travis is morphing into Evan Jr, hanging out at at the pool in the middle of the day, playing golf and "partying"with his bestie. Katie has become the mature parent and Travis is regressing to his teenage years.

Wouldn’t his parents’ health plan be based in NJ? I would imagine they need their own Tennessee-based plan.

That’s what you get when you marry a teenager (or was Travis 20! when they married? 😆)

I'm sure Travis' family has some sort of business based health insurance for Travis who is probably listed as an employee.  They would be able to work something out with their insurer/agent to cover an 'employee' who is working remotely.  Happens all the time.

In NJ Trav and Katie came across as fairly good parents because they had HIS parents watching over them. IDK if his parents gave explicit instructions or if there was just enough grandparental "judgment" that they felt like they had to be home for Hailey's bedtimes and nap times and not just let her sleep anywhere; feed her real food rather than just handing her ice cream. Trav even had the balls to stand up to Evan the one time C&E arrived expecting 10 days of party party and Trav was like uh yeah we're going to hang at home, you can come to the gym and church with me 1x but we aren't running off to NYC or even Philly with a tiny baby in tow. C&E were packing in 3 days lol.

And that extended to bigger life issues too like medical care. Katie was high risk last time too - I assume she has the clotting disorder that many sisters have - and she was seeing high risk specialists in Philadelphia at an ivy league health system and then delivered her child at a big regional hospital in NJ which has a NICU. I can't imagine morons Katie and Trav came up with this on their own - I assume his parents were like - ok you need to go to UPenn to consult with a specialist and have them coordinate with your NJ drs.

Trav ALWAYS loved visiting Tenn - much more than any other Bates son in law enjoys the inlaws. I always thought it was because he grew up in a more "serious" home, never had any of the normal life experiences like going off to college and hanging with the guys and had to run and get married at 20. And now suddenly he was thrust into a dirty house that was loud at all hours of day and night with people coming and going and no one going off to work for the day. And then when they started staying with Carlin/Evan - suddenly it was another guy to hang with at midnight and drinking soda and eating chips - party party.

And we all know Katie is a flake. Whichever way the wind blows. When she was around her serious inlaws, of course she was more serious about parenting. Now she's with party party Carlin who is giving her kids Doritos for lunch and letting them nap anywhere - no reason Hailey can't do that while eating ice cream. So I imagine that extended to this pregnancy too. Just see the local drs that are most convenient and deliver at the local hospital that has the fanciest rooms and that's that.

Has Evan arrived yet? After all when Whit's kid was born he declared that he LOVES hanging out at the hospital eating snacks. And then he and Carlin "visited" daily from noon to 10 pm bc party party. Frankly he acted the same way at Katie's first birth too. Trav even said that Katie was in a lot of pain but bc her family was around - with Carlin and her kid climbing in Katie's bed with her doing makeup - she went along with it. And then when the family would finally leave Katie was falling apart and worn out.

If Travis's parents are helping to support his lifestyle they need to rein this kid in and  lay down the law. You know like telling him to grown up and stop acting like a teenager. That ship has sailed with the birth of 2. kids. He wanted to move to TN to work on his music career and now he is hanging out in Evan's pool, playing Play Station and golfing in the middle the day during the week. Someone needs to give him a good talking to.

Katie posted on Instagram that Harvey is off oxygen and his doctors think that he has turned the corner.  She and Travis are at the hospital with Harvey. Doctors are still watching him for other improvements. This is good news.
