More clues pointing to Nick Carter as the crocodile- 6 continents in 100 hours is the whirlwind press tour backstreet boys did for the black and blue album (which happened 20 years ago this week.)  he’s also a video game fan. 
 

the “classic cult movie” - he was an extra in Edward Scissorhands.

One of the only things I know about Ninja is that he's played with Travis Scott and JuJu Smith-Schuster, who is a Rose Bowl champ. He also has some kind of record about scoring 5 touchdowns before turning 21, which might be what the five dimes was about.

He does sound like 50 with not as good breath control.

I figured the Cult Classic movie was This is the End but Edward Scissorhands makes even more sense. I still think that's Nick.

Tori Kelly does a mean Britney Spears impression. So I'm still pretty confident she's the Seahorse:

I'm ready for everyone to be on the same night. I'm having a hard time remembering clues from week to week this year. I can't even keep track of which one I think is Leann Rhymes.

Though, I was thinking that a bull was a good Peter Cetera clue until I remembered that was actually part of Mushroom's clue package so maybe having them all on one night wouldn't help.

As soon as Robin said Paul Anka, it clicked for me.  I keep forgetting that Jason Bateman is his son in law.

I am so glad that this doesn't have actual voting. Nick Carter wanting to give his kids a better childhood than he had would be unstoppable.

Nick has always been my favorite in BSB, but I never had any clue of his actual range as an artist. I'm really impressed, and glad he's going through. I hope he wins it all, but he has serious competition in the Sun (much as I love and prefer Popcorn, I don't think she'll outperform Sun tonight). I think whoever wins in the Jellyfish/Mushroom pairing will take 3rd.

Though obviously I'm getting way ahead of myself, since there's another like...4 hours to get through before we know who wins. (Next week is a "holiday singalong," then we have a two-hour finale on the 16th.)

Love Nick but it sucks so much they did this format. Tori should be F3 bound as well

No, they've just been announcing which is going thru and which is going home. No unmasking quite yet.

Is it wrong I'm hoping Nick's able to use this experience and the calling out of his parents as a therapy of sorts? I knew they really messed up their kids, all of them, but I didn't realize Nick was still holding on to so much of it. I was never into BSB, but I don't remember him as being him the wow, he's an awesome singer, guy of the group, so good on him. He's much more talented than I gave him credit for.

It's interesting that Nick and AJ both competed on reality shows this fall (and using the same set if I'm not mistaken!) and both have major emotional baggage.  At least AJ had his mom and grandma who supported him.  Nick has issues with his parents AND his brother Aaron.  He loves his wife and his babies so I'm hoping this was a nice outlet to get some of it out.  

 

Meanwhile....YES!  I guessed Popcorn correctly!

I think it's more of a Covid thing, like they want to avoid the groups mingling with each other for as long as possible (especially after filming of the Australian version got temporarily shut down after a backup dancer caught it).

They may not have realised everyone is wearing a mask.

I've been saying all along that The Sun was Idina Mendzel, but after listening to her in that package, I'm starting to lean towards the conventional wisdom. She does sound a lot like Leann Rimes.

Still convinced that The Mushroom is Billy Porter, though.

Everyone’s known who the sun and croc are, but mushroom has really been hard to guess. I initially guessed Billy Porter but he doesn’t have a daughter. I’m guessing Aloe Blacc.

Nobody would have ever referred to Idina as a Pop princess. Leann?  I suppose, if you're liberal about the use of the word "pop".

Now that we know that it's Nick, funny story.  

During the NKOTBSB tour, Nick's girlfriend (now wife) became BFF with Donnie's girlfriend Natalia at the time who were on and off for years.  

Then Donnie met Jenny, and dumped the girlfriend who was piiiiiiiised.  In the first episode of I Heart Nick Carter, Natalia sort of went off on Donnie, even though she never mentioned him by name.  It seems that Donnie and Nick aren't as close since then.  So for Jenny to get this one right....I have absolutely no point to this, other than "small world."

She got a LOOOOOT of mileage out of "Can't Fight The Moonlight" and broke a lot of Billboard records as a result.

Aloe is best known for this song.  Avicii was the DJ but Aloe is the one singing on the track.
