853fisher July 31, 2020 Share July 31, 2020 (edited) I thought Priyanka might stay out of the bottom because her impersonation was no worse than BOA's or Kiara's and they seemed to prefer her outfit. I felt differently: although I really liked it post-reveal, it was so unflattering until the white comforter came off, and the outfits didn't have to do with each other the way Rita's did. She nailed the lipsync, though. I enjoyed seeing both of them but Priyanka was much more into the mood of the song. I will miss Kiara but it was the right decision. I found Rita's Édith Piaf really difficult to watch. I'm not delusional: I don't sit down for Snatch Game expecting a series of polite tributes. I just hated seeing her boiled down to her addictions. Rita at one point said, "people know her mostly 'cause she was a drug addict," to which I thought, don't they know her as a singer? During the critiques, Rita was praised for really getting to the essence of who Édith was, and I thought, did she? Again, I know that Snatch Game is the wrong venue for a nuanced biographical presentation, but knowing something about what she went through in life, it was tough to watch pretty much the whole joke be her deterioration. Maybe this says more about me and my relationship to addiction and suffering than it does about what was presented on the episode, but I actually found it viscerally painful to look at the character presented to us. I might have called it a dramatic tour de force, but for a comedy performance which was complimented for telling us all we needed to know about her, it made me very sad. I’ve been watching for years and have never felt this way. I know that addictions are often part of the joke too, but I can’t remember it having been quite so mournful before. I don't mean to be terribly precious, and I hope I haven’t brought the energy down, but that's how I felt. Edited July 31, 2020 by 853fisher Added a damn paragraph break ;) 1 3 Link to comment
Glade July 31, 2020 Share July 31, 2020 I thought choosing Gypsy Rose Blanchard was really tasteless, and don't agree that 'holding back' on the character was what was wrong here. She was suffering from munchausen by proxy, being horrifically abused by her mother and forced to pretend her whole life, and contrary to Brooklyn's question, she wasn't the one who killed her mother, it was her boyfriend. Choose one of your other options if you know you can't make fun of someone! Edith Pialf was definitely the best, and the most original character tonight. 5 Link to comment
swanpride July 31, 2020 Share July 31, 2020 The Snatch Game wasn't my cup of tea, the only performance I liked was the Joan Rivers. Lemon was kind of funny, but I had no idea who she actually was, and I found her constant posing somewhat annoying. Edith Piaf was really a bad take on her. Going for drug addiction is kind of a low hanging fruit, and "haha she is old" also doesn't work for me. And was there even a reference to any of her actual songs? I at least expected Je ne regrette rien to come up at one point, but if it did, I missed it. Liza was pretty good, but it was kind of spoiled that there already was a really good Liza in the past, and this take was way too similar for my taste. And who was the big breasted character? Brooklyn did better with the moderation than I expected, but not great. Remember, she herself bombed her Snatch game, and part of the job of the moderator is to keep the flow going and to throw out hooks to the Queens. Thus said, what I liked was the lack of Ru's fake laughing. This is the first time for a long time that the laugh which did came felt genuine. I was really amused that the theme of the runway was the character Brooklyn failed to portray in Snatch game. And honestly, Pryanka's lip sync was the best I have seen for a long, long time!!!! She owed the stage from the first minute, he lip movements were spot on, she actually interpreted the song and she placed her more fancy moves perfectly. In this lip sync you could see what went wrong with lip syncs recently, by having Pryanka do a perfect performance and Kiara pulling out every move possible without really paying attention to the song itself. It reminded me of Kennedy vs. Katya, except that the right queen stayed this time around. 2 Link to comment
BloggerAloud July 31, 2020 Share July 31, 2020 I honestly thought that this was one of the best libraries they've had in years. Rita's reads of both Brooke Lynn and Ilona had me cracking up along with Lemon's delivery of calling Priyanka fucking stupid. Link to comment
buttercupia July 31, 2020 Share July 31, 2020 (edited) it's really sad and striking that every eliminated queen but the first has been a person of color. priyanka stands alone now. that was a better library and better snatch game than i've seen in some time. swanpride July 31, 2020 Share July 31, 2020 Sure, but do you disagree with any of the decisions? Thus said, I am pretty sure we will see priyanka in the finale. ElectricBoogaloo July 31, 2020 Author Share July 31, 2020 (edited) Snatch Game pros: the queens didn't choose random internet celebrities which is an improvement from some of the "WHO?" "celebs" that have been done on RPDR lately. Cons: Most of them weren't funny. I mean, we had Joan Rivers, Liza Minelli, and Miss Cleo and barely any laughs between the three of them. And Ilona played a porn star which should have been a slam dunk, but she was pretty boring. Mariah Carey could have been funny too but Kiara did nothing with it. Edith Piaf ended up being the best because Rita really committed to the character. I didn't expect Gypsy Rose Blanchard or Jojo Siwa to be funny and they delivered my expectations. Similarly, the Celine Dion runway had so much potential to be awesome, but what we got was disappointing. You can't just be somewhat accurate. You need to make it look fashionable, memorable, or SOMETHING. It's not enough to find a random Celine outfit and kind of replicate it. Boa's fringe look was boring and shapeless. Scarlett's satin dress looked like exactly what it was - a cheap knock off. Kiara's black ruffled sequin look was one of my favorites. Rita's Eurovision was boring (the realtor joke from the judges almost made it worthwhile). The black dress underneath was okay. But Rita got points for her Celine impersonation on the runway. She was sooooo Celine with the walk and the pointing. Jimbo's jumpsuit was so specific, but it was also FASHION. Lemon's navy Titanic dress was accurate but boring. It looked like a dress you could find at TJ Maxx. She could have gone crazy with the chest pounding to make up for her boring dress. Ilona's Elsa Schiaparelli outfit was a hooker version of what Celine wore. Priyanka's huge wedding gown was fun. Her gold dress was a fun reveal. Her Celine impression was good too. I don't understand why only she and Rita put any personality into their Celine runways. Priyanka's LSFYL was better than Kiara's. Priyanka's performance fit the song. Kiara was throwing in random dance moves that didn't fit the song or the music. That was pure desperation. Edited July 31, 2020 by ElectricBoogaloo 2 Link to comment

swanpride August 7, 2020 Share August 7, 2020 Too bad, I thought that Boa had more to offer than Ilona, but that lip sync...urgh. If she had only done a little bit more, she could have easily won. But nope. And yes, as I already noted last week, her leotards were getting REALLY boring. As far as parodies goes, this was better than usual. I at least got some laughs out of it, usually I get none. The story with the Bachelorette Party...what the hell? I wouldn't even get the idea of touching someone else without permission, entertainer or not, and I certainly wouldn't slip my finger...there. That's sexual assault! Honestly, I don't really "feel" Rita. I would like to, but I just don't connect with her. Currently Jimbo and Priyanka are my forerunners. 2 Link to comment
ElectricBoogaloo August 7, 2020 Author Share August 7, 2020 I thought Priyanka and Lemon had the best commercial by far. I did not understand why the judges liked Ilona and Scarlet's commercial at all because I didn't find it funny. Jimbo, Rita, and Boa's commercial was an unfocused mess. Their initial concept (bachelorette parties at gay clubs) was a good idea but the execution wasn't great. Jimbo had the best runway look. It was club kid inspired by elevated. Lemon's look was terrible. I hated the loose jean legs, especially at the top. I laughed when Brooke Lynn started listing all the ways that Lemon's look could have been improved. Lemon's interpretation of Brooke Lynn's critique (everything needed to be changed) was correct. I hate when the judges ask the queens who they think should be eliminated. I was surprised by how many of them chose Lemon, but I think sometimes the tone is set by whoever is named first. The other girls figure they might as well just agree so that one person is mad at everyone instead of angering an additional person. I agreed with Lemon in the work room - the judges asked who should be eliminated, not who had the worst runway outfit. Lemon did really well in her commercial which should balance out her terrible runway look. The last time I remember seeing Tom Green, he was still married to Drew Barrymore. But I LOVED that he called his mom to have her confirm that he wore a costume that looked like Boa's winged look. Other than that, he was the worst guest host so far. Boa's story about being assaulted was terrible. People can be such vindictive assholes. 4 Link to comment
853fisher August 7, 2020 Share August 7, 2020 The cast is so talented that I genuinely am sorry to see anyone leave. Both lipsyncs were great and I understand why it was BOAs time. I still am more interested in what she brought to the runway that what Ilona did, but I guess there’s Instagram for that. The way Ilona’s garment was fitted waist-up and flapping in the breeze waist-down was really unflattering, I thought. Tom Green was an absolute waste of a guest slot. He’s so irrelevant that when I saw he’d be there I thought, “they must’ve picked him because he’s really going to bring something.” Well, he sure did! All the irrelevant shouting of Joel McHale with none of the sex appeal. I just about remember when “Freddy Got Fingered” was the latest bit of lowbrow bro trash endangering the country (I was raised Catholic) and in a way it’s something of a triumph that so many different kinds of people will associate themselves with drag, but yikes, somebody else next time, please. Maybe his mom instead. I also didn’t really get Jeffrey’s “welcome to the competition, girl” for Jimbo. It was news to me that the queen who’s been in the top 4/6 weeks wasn’t into it yet. I’ve been charmed by him before as himself, but whatever character he’s playing now isn’t working. I vote he be removed from the panel and fed to Stacey. It was nice to see Crystal. I genuinely didn’t recognize her, except for the chest hair, and had utterly forgotten she was Canadian. It just shows what I know! 4 Link to comment

Stardancer Supreme August 7, 2020 Share August 7, 2020 (edited) Episode 6: Maybe my taste level is questionable, because I didn't think Lemon was the funniest during the mini challenge. It's also sad that the other queens dogpile on her because they are jealous. Hopefully they all get along better now that they are out of the pressure cooker that is Drag Race Competition. Illona and Bobo cracked me up during the making of their commercial. I hope they agreed to do the spitting and fisticuffs beforehand; usually spitting on me merits a meticulous ass whipping! A book to the face, though... I did love Lemon's comeback to Bobo thinking she was vindictive in her choosing of the teams. "You didn't think your Sissy was talented?" I rewound that scene just for Bobo's reaction and cackled every time. I'll have to watch it again, but the judges didn't award a best commercial? Maybe they just judged to Queens individually in them. The judging is a bit harsh! They are savage. I still love Jeffrey, though. He is Bae! Denim on Denim on Denim and not one Queen did a gown? Ele-GANZA, ladies! I did like Bobo's runway outfit. I would have given the lip sync to BOA; I understand it was her time to go. I figured that once she told the story of her assault. The producers are getting a little too heavy handed with the shenaniganery and foolery. Please don't bring the rigga morris to Canada's Drag Race! Tom Green was not a good guest host. I can't believe that he called his mother in the middle of a gig. That was the funniest thing he did this episode. Please drop the guest host or choose one for the whole season. Mini-challenge : I thought Rita had the most clearly defined character there. Nice to see Crystal but am not a huge fan Main challenge: Lemon and Priyanka clear winners here. the others were messy Runways: Except for Jimbo and Bobo - all terrible in their own way Lipsync : Ilona getting a reputation as a lipsync assassin- clear winner here General thoughts on each girl: BOA - liked her quirks but it was her time to go. that runway was wonky AF Ilona - lipsyncing aside I find her a bit cringy Jimbo - that runway was a shoot (that walk though) and her performances always memorable Rita Baga - always polished (except for that flat ass runway) and professional. But missing an X-factor for me Priyanka - fun as always Lemon - love her personality but she needed to be read this week for her runway construction Scarlet Bobo - she's been underrated. CraftyHazel August 14, 2020 Share August 14, 2020 Jimbo showed a bit of an attitude tonight, eh? I mean, she seems to think that everything she does is perfection, and TBH, I wasn’t feeling that runway look either. It did not look glamorous at all. And then to go after Rita Baga for stating the fact that Jimbo did truly look older than her age, and the way she went after Rita and her drag was pretty snippy, too. I’m old enough to be Jimbo’s mom. I have a child older than Jimbo, in fact. And Jimbo looks much, much older than 36. I’d have guessed at least 10-12 years older. And maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I’m a little bit over her. I still love Lemon. I love all of the remaining queens to varying degrees, but Jimbo less than the rest. 4 Link to comment
violet and green August 14, 2020 Share August 14, 2020 Oh, I love Ilona Verley. I didn't think she was going to win, but I wish she could have stayed on a little longer. I just love her sparkling spirit and her warm good humor and those lovely pastel looks. Jimbo (and Rita Baga, also, until this ep) has always painted old. I am fascinated as to why this is. They are both only in their 30s. I wonder if their stage makeup technique is not being refined for TV, or if they just paint old in general. Link to comment
Fake Jan Brady August 14, 2020 Share August 14, 2020 Ilona was doomed the moment Brooklyn asked her about her two spirit journey in the workroom. Lemon deserved the win, but Scarlett being runner up reminded me of this moment from the mothership: 3 Link to comment
swanpride August 14, 2020 Share August 14, 2020 Ilona has been canon fodder for a while now. It is no surprise that she had to go this week. Honestly, it would have happened last week if Boa had just put a little bit more effort in the lip sync. So...this week…Lemon clearly did the best, for the simple reason that she still had the spirit of one of those girls, while the others with the notable exception of Pyranka forget that part. And Pryanka was kind of a long string of missed opportunities. If she had done just a serious version of interpretive dance, and then hammed up the anger aspect, that would have actually been funny. Or if she had worded her 1% joke a little bit better, the idea was there, but the delivery didn't quite work. But all the others, they just went over the top and partly didn't even manage to hit the characters they were supposed to be. A few of them were at least funny, though. And I wouldn't have put her in the bottom. I wonder if they partly did because she was a sure bet of being able to finally take out Ilona. Regarding the runway: Again, Lemon is clearly the winner. It was a great idea to go 5 year old, but then deliver a really clean look (and for once her preference for not padding worked to her advantage). Jimbo's look was easily the worst. Okay, she likes to be funny, but Cracker has demonstrated multiple times that you can be both funny and glam, and this dress was just awful. Regarding Scarlet, I think she was funny, but there was little "misinformed" about her performance (I mean, it would have been really funny if she had acted the whole time as if she thought that she was at some other competition, or if she had talked about "alternative facts"), and her runway was good, but I just wanted to rip off that ruffle. In defence of Rita Bagga: Part of the reason why she looks older is her jawline. No shade, but she has a very strong Jawline, and this gives her a more mature look in female form. Jimbo has no such excuse, she paints old. On a different note, what the hell were the judges wearing this night? One had green dots at his eyes, the next had a turtleneck which went over her chin, the next had no eyebrows for some reason, the only one who didn't look like a fashion accident was Brooklyn. 1 Link to comment
BloggerAloud August 14, 2020 Share August 14, 2020 Jeffrey Boyer Chapman critiquing anybody in that terrible makeup job is hilarious as it is insane. I enjoyed everybody cackling at Ilona and Scarlett fussing with each other because it had the energy of two siblings in the back of the family van (tm Vicki Gunvalson) picking at it each other. I also cackled at how Jimbo was like I WELCOME OUTSIDE OPINIONS to the girls and then like immediately went the fuck in on Rita for giving a critique. 1 1 Link to comment

It was time for Sissy to go. Priyanka is what I would call a lip sync assassin! I was worried when the camera seemed to focus more on Illona waving her arms and standing in one spot. Priyanka just saunters along the stage and demands that you pay attention to her. The runway gown was *chef's kiss*. I like Lemon, but I thought that the judges should have thrown Scarlet Bobo a win. Her dress was gorgeous even with that ruffle on the side. Now she's going to psych herself out of the competition. Rita's wig was crunchy as hell. That gorgeous gown deserved better hair. Jimbo was harsh as fuck in his read, but that wig was the only thing Rita could be clocked on. Jimbo should have gone sex kitten on the runway. Instead he covered up the silhouette that would have netted him the win. Somebody needs to let Jeffrey know that the eye makeup wasn't hitting it that week. Wonderlad71 August 15, 2020 Share August 15, 2020 So that's 3 wins Rita, 2 wins Lemon, 1 each to Priyanka and Jimbo Overall a fun episode and the bottom 2 were correct. This is a great Top5 IMO (though expected Starzy to be up there) . Lemon: Overall deserved her win. Looked like she was having so much of fun and not bitter at all for being picked on last week. Jimbo: the most entertaining in the pageant, but I get that the runway was wonky (The skirt shape mostly). I was living for her salty Untucked. Priyanka: Dropped the ball in the challenge but gorgeous runway Bobo: Oh I felt for her as she has been soo consistently good. Yeah getting Jan vibes and want more for her Rita: Agree that she didn't really stand out this week and the wig was thirsty (though gorgeous gown) Ilona: was her time to go though she put up a fight as expected. 1 Link to comment
Corgi-ears August 15, 2020 Share August 15, 2020 (edited) I am really beginning to appreciate Brooke Lynn's judging, how specific she often is ("if you had worn this kind of earring instead of that kind"; "that choker makes your neck disappear"--although it was hilarious to hear her say that while sitting next to Stacey in her admittedly fabulous outfit). I guess Priyanka's lipsynchs are somewhat entertaining, but it bothers me how...unmusical her entire being seems to be. In my eyes she seems to stumble around with no regard to the beat or rhythm of the song; there's no sharpness to her movements that might suggest that she's performing. She's out for a Sunday stroll (frequently with bad posture, which the judges clocked her for), stopping every now and then to throw some shapes. Edited August 15, 2020 by Corgi-ears 2 Link to comment

Stardancer Supreme August 21, 2020 Share August 21, 2020 (edited) Episode 8: They don't give the queens Windex to clean the mirror? I'm aghast! Priyanka didn't tuck? I was wondering why she was holding herself so oddly during the lip sync. I still believe that she was on the bottom only to get rid of Ilona. Turns out the puppets were needed in order for our queens to read properly. I liked Rita's show the best, for she was able to get back at Jimbo using JBC right in front of JBC. Shady bitch! Jeffrey's makeup gets worse with each show! He needs to have a queen paint him if he insists on wearing makeup on the runways. Welcome to the Family! Jimbo: I don't know why the judges are so surprised that Jimbo set his drag gun to Whore. You just clocked him last week that his gown wasn't glamorous enough. As soon as I saw the red leather, I knew what was going to happen. His daughter looked the best, even with the meaty tuck. Scarlett Bobo: Girl, you were safe only because you went with the bodysuits for you and Violet. You could have added a skirt. I did cackle at Violet's man poses on the runway. Priyanka: They have to do something about the shoddy camera work next season. I wanted to see Priyanka do her pose on the runway, not have it as a cutaway during judging. Electra was adorable and it was cute to have an actual fan be her Drag Daughter. Lemon: She did make her Drag Daughter look like her Drag Mother. Lemon was gorgeous! Perhaps she is not as skilled at painting other people or she didn't want Lime to look better than her. Lime should have had longer hair to frame her face. Rita: I'm not a fan of clown makeup. The Bagas could have left the clown noses off. Why didn't anyone go the Glamour Puss route with these makeovers? Da Lip Sync! Finally a song that I know! I love Alanis Morissette. swanpride August 21, 2020 Share August 21, 2020 Okay...who went and punched Chapman with a glitter fist? And I thought the make-up last week was bad. Not my episode...the make-over are always my least favourite challenges. It always results in a bunch of really ugly runways. This time especially so, other than Pryanka nobody delivered something worthwhile. I really don't get the excitement over the red latex thing, it barely looked good on Jimbo, it was through and through ill-fitting on her "sister". And the praise for Scarlet Bobo really surprised me. It was a leotard with a fringy jacket. Not only are those the most boring items you can wear on the runway, they didn't go together at all. If they had done a four-way lip-sync, I would have been okay with it. But instead we got a lot of judging shenanigans: Rita deserved to go over this. The dresses looked cheap, they didn't go together at all, and Lemon clearly won this lip sync. And not just because of her well-timed gymnastics, but also because she was actually interpreting the text in her movements. I honestly, don't get why the Jury is actually that in love with Rita at all, but sending Lemon home for her was a bunch of BS, and most likely the result of them wanting her and Jimbo as "big rivals" in the finale. Well, I wanted to see Lemon going up against Pryanka. 3 Link to comment

I agree with Stardancer; "You outta know" is an angst fest, and gymnastics aren't really appropriate for it. Beg-crawling is fine, but air guitars and flips don't really fit the theme of the song. As for the looks and pairings, I'm fine with the order overall. I wonder if Jimbo adjusted their look a bit when they found out who the guest judge was. The red hoods for the Handsmaid Tale actress was a great touch. One thing I noticed, the going out song isn't the lip sync song like (I think; I may be misremembering) on the main show. I wonder if its licensing reasons or some other reason? 1 Link to comment
swanpride August 22, 2020 Share August 22, 2020 The beg crawling threw me off even more...if you want to interpret the song more serious, fine, but then don't do the beg crawling, it looked more ridiculous than anything Lemon did deliberately. It was very noticeable that the camera showed as little as possible of Rita's performance. 2 Link to comment
Fake Jan Brady August 22, 2020 Share August 22, 2020 (edited) I was so moved learning about Rainbow Railroad I went straight online after the episode and donated. What a fantastic service they provide.; it's so easy to forget just how horribly persecuted some people are in this world. JBC stated that the aim of the makeover challenge was "to keep it in the family and create a strong family resemblance", so the judges' panel complaints about mothers and daughters didn't make sense - not that this panel of judges have been at all consistent over the season. Speaking of judges, Amanda Brugel was a fantastic addition. Must've been fun to let loose on camera after three seasons of dour depression and furtive glances on The Handmaid's Tale. I'm guessing the crown will go to Rita or Priyanka since the judges don't seem to appreciate Jimbo. Unless Scarlett can pull off an Amazing Race style "the only leg that matters is the last one" victory. Edited August 22, 2020 by Fake Jan Brady 1 Link to comment
Corgi-ears August 22, 2020 Share August 22, 2020 (edited) The idea that a song has only one true meaning, and a lipsynch, like some sort of middle school test of reading comprehension, is about hitting on that meaning -- as opposed to lipsynching having the power, LIKE DRAG, FOR EXAMPLE, to reinterpret and recontextualize -- is a narrative that needs to die. Glade August 22, 2020 Share August 22, 2020 I hated Scarlet's lame as hell jacket over leotard looks—it's like they spilled coffee on themselves or their bodysuits ripped down the side so they made a desperate attempt to cover it up. She absolutely should have been lipsyncing. Also, out of drag Scarlet looks so 90's I swear he had a cameo on Real World San Francisco AND started out as a Linda Perry impersonator. Brooklyn's Poison Ivy cosplay is a crime. I was really disappointed with how old Lemon made Lime look, but I don't think she should have been in the bottom, since the outfits were still great. So sad that she went home! I feel like Jimbo would have won this challenge on U.S. Drag Race since Michelle is always like 'the wigs are a different color, so how could you claim to be the same family??' 3 Link to comment
swanpride August 22, 2020 Share August 22, 2020 Yeah, I mean, the makeup was rough, but there was so much love and detail in the outfits, and it felt like the jury was reaching for reasons to rate her down with their "her energy wasn't as usual" BS. I also had Scarlet clearly in the bottom. My jaw dropped when they started to compliment her. Okay, she put her partner into a leotard, but frankly, kudos to him for suffering through it, but I honestly don't think that this is the best way to ease someone into drag. That's why I really appreciated Pryanka going for a skirt for her partner. 2 Link to comment
ElectricBoogaloo August 23, 2020 Author Share August 23, 2020 I loved that the show gave so much air time to the Rainbow Railroad. If you want to donate or read more about their organization, check out the Rainbow Railroad website. For me, Priyanka was the clear winner of the challenge. She did a great job creating a family resemblance without just slapping on identical wigs. I like when there's a cohesive look without trying to make the other person look like your identical twin. On top of that, her makeup was by far the best. This is DRAG, not going to church. She gave her drag daughter a bold colorful look that was similar to her own but was still flattering to her face. Some of the other queens gave their daughters similar makeup to their own without taking into account what would look good on someone else's face. For example, Lemon's makeup looked fine on her but on Lime, it made her look like Miss Haversham. That thick black eyeliner made Lime's eyes look tiny and squinty. It wasn't the black eyeliner that was the problem though - it was the way that Lemon applied it on Lime. Jimbo's drag daughter (ha, BIMBO!) looked great because she already had soft feminine features. I think most of Bimbo's success in the makeover was due to Bimbo, not Jimbo. Scarlett Bobo deserved to be in the bottom for those atrocious runway costumes. A body suit with thick heavy ugly fringe? I get that Rita deliberately made herself look old so she could be the grandmother but she was thinking too much about her concept and not enough presenting a cohesive family look on the runway. If you're not going to go glam, then you have to have a specific look. Instead she just had a very harsh and muddy face. Lemon's LSYFYL was terrible. It looked more suited for her toddlers & tiaras runway look last week because it was very childish and immature. She was mostly just walking around and then miming whatever words in the song as if she were playing charades. I know the queens always think they're being kind to whoever they're doing makeovers on, but I wish they would remember that the most important thing is to make their new drag daughters look and feel beautiful. This is the time to bust out the most glamorous makeup look in your arsenal to make them look amazing, not just slap on some contour and call it a day. 3 Link to comment
swanpride August 23, 2020 Share August 23, 2020 Honestly, few Drag Queens do. I remember when Asia's partner fell in love with that fringy thing and really slayed walking in it, full of confidence. So, did Asia allow him to wear it on the runway and look for something she could wear which would compliment that look without copying it? No, naturally not, she slapped together a copy which just didn't have the same flow at all and let him wear it, while she wore the one he loved so much. I can count on one hand how many queens actually managed to make their partner look happy and glam while also managing to put themselves in a good light. And granted, sometimes it is not their fault, some "clients" are less ready to jump into it than others. But I really think that the first step should always be to find something the partner feels comfortable and fierce in. The second is to find something for yourself which fits the theme. 2 Link to comment
Starchild August 28, 2020 Share August 28, 2020 Yeah these are the final 3 I would have chosen. 1 Link to comment
CraftyHazel August 28, 2020 Share August 28, 2020 (edited) I’m soooooo happy for Scarlett Bobo, and I really thought she deserved this win. Priyanka did really well, but I knew the “sparkly bodysuit with shit glued to it” was going to set Michelle Visage off. Her Christmas tree party outfit was kind of brilliant though. Everybody seems to love Jimbo...especially Jimbo. Nothing wrong with a confident queen, but when your confidence crosses over into “I can do no wrong” territory, you lose me. So I agree...I’m very happy with this top three. **ETA: I will give Jimbo this...that was easily THE most iconic exit from the main stage in the history of the show. I laughed my butt off! swanpride August 28, 2020 Share August 28, 2020 I agree...there is a lot about Jimbo one can appreciate, but she is not perfect. She often lacks this last polish. 2 Link to comment
Starchild August 28, 2020 Share August 28, 2020 (edited) Agreed, Jimbo is super talented. But she was starting to feel like a one-trick pony. It seems "slut" is the only character she can do, with "clown" and "Joan Rivers" variations on the theme. Rita is my favourite, but I could live with Priyanka or Bobo winning it. babyteddy August 28, 2020 Share August 28, 2020 I was sad to see Jimbo go. I really loved what she brought to the show. Found this video today, glad that that wasn't the last of Jimbo I'll be seeing! 1 Link to comment
