I think that was why RB was such a force as Ashland Locke whereas RN has come off years and years of soap acting in GL. RB merely only dabbled in soaps.

Me too.  I loved Stacey Haiduk's Emily with Jack.  That was his best pairing in ages, IMO.  I was sorry to see her go.

I was just thinking when Jack was accusing Diane of being unhinged for buying a house just to talk to him. I thought "Well that was a very Pattycakes thing to do,"

Rodan the Petty is so fake. She doesn’t want to check up Jack she is just being a Nosey Rosey.  Did anyone else notice that the scene with a young Kyle was not a flash back but a recreated scene.  Jack looks the same today as he was in that scene. Which leads me to believe there was no flashback scene available. The next two scenes with Kyle, Diane, and Jack were flashbacks. 

Are we actually going to get a meaningful purpose about why TIIC  decided to raise Diana from the dead?  How about Diane’s diatribe to Jack as to why she left.  Was this all a plot for Diane to reconnect with Kyle?  Jack are you being a little hypocritical here?  The situation is not really the same other than the fact your mother abandoned you. Didn’t you greave somewhat that your mother abandoned you and your father?  Why does Diane need Jack to reconnect with Kyle?  Diane can do it on her own and go to Milan. 

Finding out that Diane and Jack didn’t do the deed and Kyle was a result of IVF.  I’m now wondering how many GC babies were born without some sort of drama.   

Did Jack actually say that Allie and Kyle was about the same age?  I guess just being in your twenties is being around the same age. 

 

As an aside, In an interview with JV, he wasn’t really surprised that his days as Rey the Chin were numbered since he was getting fewer and fewer meaningful scenes. JV was looking forward to a near future romantic interlude with MCE (Chelsea) which will not take place because he will be gone in April.

Even as a baby Kyle had the Abbott hair, ha ha. Great casting.

Yeah, it's kind of weird how close Kyle and Allie are in age. They'll be more like siblings than uncle and niece.

Allie certainly has brightened up. IMO the actress and PB had wonderful chemistry today.

Poor Kyle. Even he doesn't deserve what's coming. What an actual nightmare. Now watch, he'll need a kidney and only Diane will be a match. 🙄

Re the previews, does Phyllis teleport to LA or is this the longest day in the history of humankind?

I wondered the same thing. Of course it also was a convoluted way of getting Jack to meet his granddaughter.  But if Diane was so concerned about Jack, she would have made it possible for him to reunite with Keemo when he was still alive too.

As someone who started watching when Maura joined the show, I appreciated the flashbacks. The kids playing young Kyle were really cute but I distinctly remember Kyle wanting nothing to do with Jack after Diane’s ‘death.’ And yes she did grant custodial guardianship to Victor. When Kyle first came back to town as MM, he made a beeline for Victor and did everything he could to undermine and sabotage Jack. It’s only in recent years that Jack and Kyle became close.

That 2001 date would make Kyle 21 or so. But he'd already finished graduate school when the MM version of Kyle arrived in 2018 so he must be in his late 20s at best now. On the show they've already said Allie is 24.

Meanwhile, Michael Mealor (Kyle) and Kelsey Wang (Allie) are both 29, if the googles are correct. (And it's already been announced that MM is returning as Kyle so no deSORASing.)

And Allie's future boyfriend (spumored) Noah Newman is said to be 24 now--according to the googles--so maybe that's why they have KW playing younger than she actually is.

SORASing and deSORASing on soaps defy the space/time continuum.

It's the Kyle who was on the show mostly during Maura West's tenure, between late 2010 and sometime in 2011. The young actor was Garrett Ryan. He also appeared during a brief return of Susan Walters as Diane in early 2010. So, I don't think those scenes we saw today were recreated but were the ones which originally aired in 2010. PB has just seems to have aged extremely well.

I don't remember Diane having committed some crime with the threat of jail time, so why not just leave town the easy way instead of some elaborate death-fakery?   I had a feeling Deacon was going to be involved somehow, but I couldn't figure out how that would make sense.  I still can't.  They should have brought him on to give Diane some moral support.  He's in the neighborhood, after all.  

Susan Walters looks great.  The contrast between her natural face and Lauren's, well, whatever is going on up there, was pretty striking.

Since she had to be finding pictures of Kyle on the public domain, it could have been

Jesus, this is ugly.   Not sure why it is that certain leading men on the remaining soaps seem to have to prove their machismo with 50s style abusive storylines (and MW has had to work with both!), but it's gross.

All I remember is her sleeping with every man in GC. And the embroidered pillows that Pattycakes made and how they were supposed to be clues until they weren't.

I can't believe they are revisiting that clusterfuck murder mystery.  I just went to soap central to do a little research on the pillows. Reading about the murder is just mind boggling and that anyone could have written that crap to begin with. It's even more mind boggling that anyone would want to revisit it. It should have remained dead and burried just as Diane should have.

Here's something from sc: "Ronan ordered Diane's body exhumed for another autopsy, which showed succinylcholine, the drug found in the syringe, in her bone marrow." (Patty had planted the syringe in Adam's desk and he in turn planted it in Victor's safe. And even more syringe shenanigans followed.) So this 'corpse from the morgue' had two autopsies done on it? And Diane was on top of it paying everyone off to keep quiet while she was pretending to be dead and out of the country?

sc ends its recount of the insane saga with this: "Deacon identified Patty's photo as being the person who had been in the park, helping him clean up after Diane's death. Patty was later captured after shooting and paralyzing Jack Abbott, and when it was discovered that she had been the missing link in the Diane Jenkins murder, charges were dropped against all the suspects but Nikki. Deacon remained in jail. Patty was sent to a maximum-security prison hospital." I have to question why Deacon would go to jail for Diane? And why he would be a part of framing Nikki, who he had fallen in love with? How much could Diane have paid him and if she paid him enough to go to jail what happened to that money (because he sure doesn't have it now and didn't have it when $Bill Spencer got him out of jail years ago either)? Diane's explanation to Jack doesn't make any sense.

There was a kind of cool episode where it started with Deacon and Nikki (drunk) getting married and then it went backward from there to how it all happened...I kind of liked their dysfunctional relationship. Didn't Deacon do both mom and daughter (Victoria)?

Wouldn't mind seeing Phyllis get railed against a dumpster again by Deacon and Jack walk in on it and dump her....yes, new viewers, Phyllis had sketchy dumpster alley sex with Deacon!

Personally I prefer Stacy Haiduk as Patty than as Kristen DiMera. Maybe because I actually felt a lot more sorry for Patty, than I ever did Kristen. (maybe once when she found the letter John wrote Marlena & had a miscarriage) even when Eileen Davidson played her but ED's Kristen is far more entertaining than SH. That's not a diss to her talent I just think Patty's  character suited her acting style better than Kristen's character. I'm sure it doesn't help that Ron is an even bigger hack writer than the Y&R writers. 

From what I gather on YT is that 90's Diane was sort of Phyllis comeuppance for being a villainous viper. Similar to how Sheila was Lauren's karmic payback for being the bitch Genoa City. So some people liked Diane over Phyllis, I'm personally meh on them both(admittedly I loved their feud), with a slight leaning toward Phyllis since I liked how MS played her back in the 90s. Though the OG Diane played by Alex Donnelly was the best IMO. Maura West was permissible but I think she's found her niche on GH. I almost forgot she(all versions of Diane) was a big pain in Nikki's ass too. I think the vintage clips of the old drama will be 100 times more entertaining than whatever it is we get.

^^^Yup. I might be ahead of myself but I also think it's force us to sympathize with her since Diane is likely going to scheme against her. I really don't know why, because again, some people actually liked Diane more than Phyllis. The writers had the perfect opportunity to capitalize off of Gina Tognoni's acting and humanize/woobify Phyllis but of course they wasted it by having her cheat with Buttbiscuit. I imagine the same thing will happen with NuS(d)ummer.

JV was looking forward to a near future romantic interlude with MCE (Chelsea) which will not take place because he will be gone in April.  

I will miss him as a cop partner/friend to Chase, but I never bought a romance between him and Sharon.

I always wanted to love Rey but he’s kind of a snooze fest. I had no desire to see him and Chelsea.

Watch enough NCIS reruns and you will see quite a few familia faces. This Sunday it was Robert Adamson who was Noah Newman before the current recast.  RA had the chemistry with Tessa where the current Noah has none.

So is Rey gonna die in service of going back & forth to the Blackhawk game or the Genoa City PD? Getting ready to watch Adam and Nick squaring off like 2 rutting bucks over Sharon at the funeral. Hoping Sharon has laid off the Botox so she can at least make an appropriate display of her 15 minutes of grief.

I just have to say that both Lily and Elena have amazing bodies and both are waisted on the men they are “attached” to.  

I don’t think that Nate and Elena wanted to “christen” their new place with a foursome 😜. 

Poppin’ Fresh basic strategy is to deny deny deny and the best defense is to take an offensive stance.  This can all be but to rest because Olive, as Poppin’ Fresh’s wife has the ability to talk to his doctors and see his medical records. As my wife was dying from cancer, I could speak to all her doctors, on her condition, and see all her medical records.  Since doctors and hospitals are only required to keep medical records for six years, I was able to obtain the medical records, scans, and biopsies before they were destroyed. I still have them and keep them in a locked strong box under my bed.  I believe that I’m sentimental but my children just call me weird. 

Yes Chelsea is happy for Sally and Adam and has moved on by setting her sights on Rey. The best way to get over someone is to get under someone else.  Sally didn’t have to be intuitive at all to know Chelsea has a “thing” for Rey. Sally could see Chelsea’s face light up and feel 5 degrees warmer.  I also think that Rey heated up a little while looking at Chelsea’s legs.  Rey, if I was you, from the neck down, I would choose Sharon.

Guess Show is trying to set a new record for the longest day. Victoria has been wearing that dress since March 25, according to Worn on TV.

Billy and Nate must've called each other last night to coordinate their outfits. They were both wearing deep purple. Smoke! On the water! A fire in the sky!

Does Adam not have any staff besides Sally? Seems problematic to me for his COO to be learning on the job especially now that the job just got way bigger.

Given the recent history of that penthouse, I can't believe the first thing Nate and Elena didn't do was get rid of all the furniture and everything else. Wonder if they even had it cleaned before they moved in? Ugh.

Chelsea told Sally she really hopes Adam has found what he's looking for. Sally probably thought Chelsea was referring to her. Yeah, no, Sally.

Ashland has been bouncing all over town trying to cover his hiney. (Does he know Michael Baldwin is alive and back in GC?) Meanwhile, Adam has laser-like focus since his eye is on the prize, i.e., the permanent helm of the Newman empire and status as Daddy's favorite. You're overmatched, Ash. Nothing can defeat the desperation of Victor's kids to top each other.

Victoria finally admitted she has a plan to deal with Ashland. But does she? Because going away alone with him--out of the country--seems like a spectacularly risky move to me. Victor's crack security team might be too busy hitting the pipe to protect her at a critical moment.

And then Ashland went back to the office AGAIN. That guy better be driving an EV with all the short trip miles he's been running up today.

Now Rey is "dating" Chelsea's kid. Heaven help him if Connor realizes he got handed off to Rey since both of his parents decided they had more important things to do.

Victoria looked a bit unsure there at the end. Hmmm. Hope she knows what she's doing.

Lots of mention about Harrison lately when I do tune in. I thought Ashland gifted him to Kyle? Did he ever mention if he made a miraculous recovery he might take him back?

So, who's going to replace Rey as Chance's partner?  I have some ideas.

Mariah - someone here once said she would make a good detective.  But it might be weird since she carried Chance and Abby's child.

Abby actresses' real life hubby.  But Abby starts to fall for Chance's new partner.

Kyle - he wants a change of career.  He returns to GC without Summer (you're welcome). Since Jack is never at the office anymore, he can babysit Harrison.

SORASED Harrison - but Jack would worry too much.

SORASED Christian - but he gets kicked off the force because Daddy Nick taught him to punch first, ask questions later.

Noah - but he gets kicked off the force because he keeps painting murals at all the crime scenes.

Any other ideas?
