Carlin and Evan: But Mostly Carlin!

Yeah it's Jana's husband - not Evan - helping; I couldn't remember his name.

Not that Carlin herself isn't pathetic. Showed up at Katie's place at midnight to give her a basket for Target crap for her bday. Katie looks rough - overwhelmed and exhausted. Which isn't shocking given that the chick gave birth 5-6 days ago and her kid was in the hospital for a while so they JUST got home.

But Carlin doesn't care. She rounded up Jana, Jessa, Jinger, Josiah Duggar's wife, John David Duggar's wife, and 3 other women I don't recognize and it was PARTY PARTY - i.e. OMG THEY WENT TO TARGET AT NIGHT to buy junk snacks, candy, and assorted plastic crap to present to Katie. It doesn't seem like all these people landed at Katie's home at midnight - at least I hope not - but you never know.

I swear C&E act like they're 20 year old college kids - they're trying to live that portion of life even though they're well past those ages. They have no understanding that even if it is your tradition to crash the bday person's house at midnight - maybe DON'T - this year bc she may not be up to it. It's quite possible her kid had fallen asleep for a bit so she was sleeping between feedings and now she has to entertain you and be camera presentable. You can give her Target snacks and plastic junk at noon the next day. And oh yeah Carlin & Evan it isn't hospitable to ask your guests - or take them up on their polite offers - to do home improvement chores for you like hanging a light fixture. Are you headed to Nebraska to help Jana/her husband refinish their floors? Lol no.

But they're such grifters just like Gil. I mean they had Zach setting up their grill and making them dinner while they did nothing. They also had Zach and 2 neighbor teens build their kids' swingset while they again did nothing. So par for the course.

I saw the reel, and Katie looked exhausted, like she'd been pulled out of bed when Carlin showed up at the door. I'll also say that Travis sucks as much as Carlin. He should be setting boundaries, but he's having too much fun bro'ing around with Evan to put his wife's needs first.

And yeah, the Target run was cringe.

Evan was likely spoiled, coddled and babied by his family of origin. That rarely ends well.

Reminds me of my stepson (now 13) who has never had to lift a finger at his mother’s and his every wish is catered to. When he was younger, at our house, when we expected him to help out, we would get a blank “this does not compute” look. If he spilled or made a mess, he neither tried to clean it up nor asked for help. He’s not bad natured, it just doesn’t even occur to him to help. It’s better now, but he still resents being made to clean his room or put his dishes in the dishwasher. Or if we make dinner plans without his input.

And Evan was paired with Carlin, who is emotionally and socially stunted, so little chance he gets straightened out.

All Travis could come up with was repeating the word, “epic”.  We shall see this on a hat within a few days.

Carrying this over from the Josie thread:

Heathen, you bring up an interesting point about the Tesla. People on the Bates subReddit were just talking about how E&C were being uncharacteristically evasive and guarded about this 'accident.' There was no footage of it in their vlog, no shots of a damaged car, no weeping Carlin on the side of the road grateful that her babies were safe. Just the two of them on the couch, giving vague details well after the fact.

I never considered the possibility that they couldn't afford it and had to turn it in. Given the insane amounts of money they blew this summer (pool, putting green, hot tub, multiple vacations), their budget may be getting tight. It'll be interesting to see if they get a cheaper car or manage to wrangle a sponsorship like Katie.

According to Instagram they are on vacation at a beach somewhere with Evan’s parents. Given the whole Milton situation  and the aftermath of Helene I have to wonder where they are and why they didn’t cancel their plans.

They didn't cancel their plans because they're idiots. This is in character for them.

This has been my gut reaction.  If they had been in an accident, they would have milked it. Medical! Ambulance ! ER!

Evan did say that everyone was okay, no one was hurt. I suspect they were either distracted by filming, or Carlin had a seizure and they don't want to report it because she'll lose her license.

Is it just me, but isn't a "dress" that full more tunic looking and needs legging to balance it if a person is going to wear it that short?

Nope, you got it right; leggings, skinny jeans or tights would look better with it.

Between her posing, the mary janes and the dress' juvenile quality; Carlin looks like she's auditioning for Lolita.  That whole outfit is not flattering for anyone over the age of 12.

It’s creepy as hell, especially given all of her other pedo-ish content focusing on Layla 🤬🤬😢

I have to chuckle. I was browsing Bates Instas this morning and there was a post from Whit thanking Evan and Carlin for inviting them on their annual camping trip. It's like, oh Whit, you sweet summer child. They invited you so you and Zach could buy the food, do all the cooking, hold the camera to film them 'making memories,' and have your kids keep Layla and Zade occupied. They didn't do it out of the goodness of their hearts. There's a reason Josie camps with Kelton's family only. Zach and Whit will never learn...

And WHY the need to thank them publicly? She couldn’t just call or text!

There's an interesting article out about a young adult who discusses the damage of living in an influencer family. It turned even worse for her youngest two siblings, but she emphasizes the emotional damage of basically living a life on SM.

Are you thinking of Ruby Franke's daughter?  Ruby is serving prison time for child abuse having starved and imprisoned her kids.  Her daughter Shari has become an advocate for kids whose lives are being exploited online for money and says, even without the outright abusive behavior, having her entire life online for years was incredibly damaging to her.  She gives specific examples of things that happened to her that were posted online and it is horrifying that any parent would share their child's most embarrassing moments for money.

Nothing says camping like Evan's sneakers.

The carefully curated outfits are just too much.  Also, where are they camping?  The North Pole?  Carlin is wearing a wool beanie, fleece jacket and fleece lined boots and looks like she's ready to build a snowman. I presume she grifted the outfit from sponsors and needs to show off the merch but she looks even dumber than usual.

That big dirt wall right next to the pool is downright ugly.  No surprise they haven't done anything to make it look better.

The entire yard is such an eyesore. The ugly dirt wall, the cheap plastic slide, the turf patches with the narrow strip of surrounding grass. There's nothing natural or cohesive about it at all. It looks like the lounge area of a 2-star airport motel.

Today I was out working in the yard and this young guy and his 3-4yr old daughter walk by with a stroller. Guy is dressed in these type pants and shoes, hoodie and a backwards baseball hat. He gets daughter out of the stroller and while she spins it around in the middle of the road he takes video with his phone.

I actually said out loud "oh my god how did Evan get on my street!"

It wasn't of him of course, but beware there are other Evans out there in the world.😂

I like your description better than what I was thinking. My mind kept going to a new player on Sims 4 learning the cheats.

Code for - we could not longer con one of our "friends" to come over and do this for us and my electrician husband is too lazy to do it, BUT the house must be IG perfect for Christmas, so here we are. Either last year or the year before, they had a "friend" out there putting lights up on their house. And as it always goes in these situations with these grifters, the guy was legit checking bulbs, climbing up on ladders and putting lights up on the porch etc while Evan was standing around on the driveway doing exactly nothing. Not that different from when Zach came over and put up their kids' swingset with 2 of their teen neighbors and able bodied young man Evan kind of stood around and watched. Or when Zach was invited over for dinner and had to put together their damn grill and cook up the dinner. I'm shocked they haven't conned Z into this though I assume when it comes to Christmas he plays the - I've got 5 (6?) kids and a wife who wants an IG perfect Christmas too, sorry.

I could bet money that they had that friend come out and do Christmas lights under the guise of - all the guys will help each other, so each of us will get this done in less time than doing it alone and it'll be guy time to hang out and chat it up. So Evan has this guy come over and I'm positive doesn't show up when it's his turn to put lights on the other guy's house bc he has to run off to mama's house or whatever -- this was back when they were running to Nashville for long weekends lasting 10 days at a time every single month.

Here's what I don't get: why are people so willing to become the Stewarts' flunkies? There is absolutely nothing extraordinary about Evan or Carlin that would make me want to sacrifice my time and energy to help them.

I could understand a guy putting up Christmas lights for a single mom, a friend who is ill or disabled, elderly neighbors or anyone else who genuinely needs the help, but Evan is perfectly capable. And not for nothing, but most grown men would bristle at the thought of not being able to handle things for their family. Evan seems to embrace it.
