Speculation on Gil / Myrla salaries: He makes around $50K as a firefighter and $30K as a trainer, no annual bonus. Myrla makes $75K base salary and $25K bonus. Annually, Myrla makes more as Gil told his mom. Two week paycheck wise Gil makes more because Myra’s bonus isn’t in those checks, as he told Frazier. At the reunion Myrla said she didn’t tell Gil she loved him because she knew what those words meant, so she didn’t mislead him. I thought a few times during the season she did tell him that she loved him and you chose who you love (Pastor Cal philosophy). Am I remembering that right?

I don’t understand why Homeland Security was involved. What do Jen’s (alleged) crimes have to do with homeland security? More importantly, she was on the run in the actual snow. How did she stop her car from rolling five to eight times? Signed Erika asking for a friend.

I thought it was to show what a misogynistic pig Jeff is. Xander volunteered and Jeff jumped right in and told Erika to switch places with him. That should have been HER choice. If the roles were reversed Peachy would’ve spent a good 5-10 min asking Xander what he thought about the offer, what the risks were, is there an ulterior motive, etc; but instead he just tells Erika to move over and let Xander get his way.

@Retired at last - Because he was more reserved some thought he didn’t really give her a chance. I think he did give her a fair shot, but they weren’t a good match so it wasn’t going to go anywhere and he came off looking like the ‘bad guy’ when he likely wasn’t.

Maybe she finally got her dream job as couch tester at Rooms to Go for Cindy and Sofia.

The impression I got was that Amani is in therapy and is working on her goals, one of which is having a successful marriage. For that goal it makes sense her therapist is having them discuss marriage goals, communication styles, etc. I didn’t get the sense anything is wrong with their marriage.

I think Greg meant it was the first solo overnight. In previous eps they showed them splitting nighttime duty and both of them being very involved with Declan’s care. He is such an adorable baby. I don’t like Bobby for many reasons, but am skeptical if the “more babies” isn’t a manufactured story line. He previously expressed concern about her difficult pregnancies and seems to understand the severity. They don’t show his work, their families, trips, etc. so maybe they feel the need to creat a little drama.

Michaela said she hasn’t spoken to him in months so don’t think she can confirm or deny anything.

In TX you can’t do ‘buy one get one free’ or ‘all day mimosas’ like in some other states so bars tend to run specials where you buy the first drink for $12-15 and the refills are insignificant.

If the drink is like one I’ve had, it is blue poured into a yellow drink. You think yellow + blue = green, but instead you get a purple drink. The bartender explained that the yellow is lemon which is acidic and the color change is due to a pH change when you add the blue. It’s kind of in between what you and @Stan39 are saying. I am not rich, but do have investments. My investment banker, we’ll call “IB”, doesn’t want me to cash out any investments to use as a down payment for a house. So IB has a program where I get a letter saying that I qualify for all cash house purchase up to $XX. When I buy house IB does a short term loan for me and pays all cash for the house and quick close. When deal is done IB works with a mortgage broker to convert the short term loan to a mortgage. IB benefits cause investments aren’t touched so their fees aren’t negatively impacted, gets fees for short term loan for me, and then gets a referral fee from the mortgage company. Effectively it is an all cash purchase even though I never had any cash. Switching gears, I can’t believe Tracy’s sister is a decorator. That house was really fugly on the inside. As others have mentioned, the table in the wine cellar was way too large. And who does a sunken living room these days??? There is a reason they were in style for a very, very short period of time.

I find this offensive. Child support is for the child, not the parent. It has been shown multiple times that Amber has not paid child support in full thus Gary has to cover ALL of Leah’s expenses. Leah looks to be well taken care of and provided for so what little money Gary does get from Amber appears to be going to the care of Leah. Gary has mentioned a college fund for Leah. Amber has mentioned cars and couches for herself, and guitars, movie equipment and “collectibles” for the boy of the moment. In no way do I believe that Amber is trying to provide financially for Leah and Gary is taking advantage of it.

So much gross behavior in this episode it’s hard to know where to start. Johnny has really, really let me down. He is constantly judging Bao’s emotions. You can see the wheels turning in his head while he searches for something about her to be negative about. Not cool. It’s hard to believe Myrla is the introvert she says she is when she is all about going out to hip, busy restaurants where she will be surrounded by people. I like that she is confident in who she is, but wish she would recognize that she can be very nasty and change that. The shade about Jose’s house in the suburbs was so rude and uncalled for. Speaking of Jose, what a cruel chucklef*ck for dating a woman with 4 kids when he had no serious intentions. I can’t imagine how devastated she and her kids were when it ended. He should’ve broken it off or friend-zoned her within 2 weeks. Think it says a lot about his inability to love others since he couldn’t because they weren’t his biological kids. Run Rachel, run!! I’m confused about Brett and Ryan. Thought he previously said that while she wasn’t his type he was attracted to her. They seem to get along well and both have said how easy the conversation flows between them. Now there is no spark? Did we miss something or is this all on Ryan having the emotional ability of a gnat?

My issue with Myrla isn’t the spending, it’s the focus on the labels. She has mentioned it multiple times and her friends shamed her for showing up to a clothes drive dripping in labels. For someone so into beauty and aesthetics she keeps empty liquor bottles lined up on her counter to show off the labels. It doesn’t get more tacky than that. She defines herself by designer labels and an extreme focus on physical appearances and that makes her come across as shallow.

This explains a lot, thank you. Wish this kind of stuff was on the show instead of unfiltered (don’t watch it as I’m not a Jamie fan) because it gives good context as to why Zach is anxious around her.

Honestly asking, what are you all seeing with Mikaela that I’m missing? The only aggressive thing I remember her doing is slamming down what looked like paper towels when Zach wasn’t in the apartment. I’m not clear on if Zach texted about the dog day care and when he got home - she seemed genuinely upset and clueless about where he was but I don’t think he’d lie over something like that. After their fight totally understand not wanting to host a party when things are tense. Don’t recall seeing or hearing any physical, verbal or emotional abuse coming from Mikaela, but absolutely believe Zach is feeling very anxious around her. The editing is bizarre. Johnny and Jose really bug me. They both are so into wanting someone “on their level”, but when they get partnered with a smart person with opinions and interests of their own they are very disappointed that they don’t get to have their way 100% of the time and aren’t the center of that person’s universe. Reminds me of Chris without the intentional cruelty of Chris.

I don’t follow SM. Are the ladies still supporting Erika or have they started to distance themselves?

Rachel and Gil are my favs on this season and I wish they would have been paired up. Am I the only one who found the most shocking thing about this episode is that OCD perfectionists Bao and Johnny brush their teeth the old school way? Can’t believe they aren’t using ultrasonic brushes.

I am on team Gil with regards to the dog. He clearly loves Hype and Myrla is totally uninterested. I don’t expect her to be a full on dog mom, but she should be compromising to be a dog step mom. Especially since he requires help because of his work hours and she is flat out refusing to help him. Reminds me of Greg and Deonna. In their case Greg is allergic so it is much worse, but he compromised to having the dog in limited areas of the house. Now that they are on couples cam he seems to love the dog as much as Deonna. I don’t know what to make of Bao and Johnny. There is a real chemistry there, but they can’t seem to get on the same page emotionally. One is up and the other down, and then the roles reverse. They would really benefit from some counseling individually and as a couple.
