So much good stuff to choose from. The one that always makes me laugh, no matter how many times I've seen it, is "The Bad Fish Paradigm". Leonard: How could you just sit there and let them spy on me? Sheldon: They were very smart. They used my complete lack of interest in what you are doing. Sheldon: I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack. Sheldon: I wouldn't tell you the secret. Sssh! Leonard: What secret? Tell me the secret. Sheldon: Mom smokes in the car. Jesus is okay with it, but we can't tell dad. Leonard: Not that secret, the other secret. Sheldon: I'm Batman! Ssssh! (I always have to rewind this part and watch it again, the way they deliver it is so perfect) Leonard: Penny thinks I'm too smart for her. That's ridiculous! Sheldon: I know! Most of your work is extremely derivative. And don't worry, that's not a secret. Everybody knows. I love anytime Sheldon gets drunk/drugged.

Yes, it does. Thank you for responding, and vera charles and 3pwood, too. I agree with a lot of the points you've made, her shows did used to be a lot better, and I have to admit, I haven't tried anything she's make on Giada at Home, as most of it looks a little too "try-hard" for me, if that makes any sense. Like, she's trying too hard to make them accessible, or to make them "trendy", or whatever. I much preferred the recipes on Everyday Italian.

They were wearing pajamas. I need to ask a question, and I hope no one takes this as sarcastic or snarky, but I'm really interested in the answer. If everyone hates Giada so much, why do you watch her show(s)? Is there a reason beyond the snark? I mean, I can't stand Richard Blais or Guy Fieri or Jeff Morrow, so I don't watch their shows. As a matter of fact, I dislike them so much that when two of them were on Rachael Ray this past Friday, I had to turn it off, even though that meant I couldn't see Sunny Anderson, who I quite enjoy. So why do you guys choose to watch her? Personally, I quite like her, and admire what she's overcome in her past, and a couple of her recipes are standards in my house.

Gotcha. Thanks for explaining what you meant, and I agree 100%.

Let's not have one season follow another with only a week or two break (it seems) between them. I couldn't believe there were still 8 people left in this week's episode, because it feels like I've been watching forever. Then I realized that's because this season started so soon after the end of the last one.

Do the two things have to be exclusive, though? I may be hopelessly naive, but it seems to me that any show with a black cast (aside from a few supporting characters) and is about "black stuff", but that makes non-blacks think "hey, I can relate to that" can only be a good thing. Like Diane's hair...I'm white, but I have extremely thick, long, curly hair. Straightening it may take longer initially, but it's much easier to take care of when it's straight than when I let it do it's thing. So yeah, I related to those scenes, even the one where the combs got stuck in Diane's hair, because that happened to me more than once as a child. These days, with racial tensions so high in certain parts of the country, it seems to me that there's nothing wrong with exploring some of the similarities between the races, instead of focusing on what's different. Props to you. I love my curly hair, as well, but it can definitely be a struggle when I let it be natural. Although I laugh at calling it that...there is generally so much product in it to get it to behave that there is nothing "natural" about it.

IIRC, Sheldon said that she was "remarkable" to which Leonard said something like "she really is". Then Sheldon went on to marvel that she could memorize all those lines but wasn't able to remember his hamburger order at the Cheesecake Factory. So IMO, he never said she was a good actress, just that he was impressed with her ability to memorize lines. And yet Sheldon never hesitates to ask her to sing "Soft Kitty" to him. :-)

No, you're probably right. I would just like this show to surprise me, and not go the expected route with Janine.

This. So much this. It's distracting. And I'm someone who bought Gabrielle Carteris as a high school student. My Breakfast Club moment was when they were running through the halls. I kept expecting to hear Wang Chung! And I was really hoping someone would get up on stage with Nurse Jackson. What kind of friends leave someone without Pips?
-
I could be off-base as to her motivations, but right now, I'm totally on Janine's side in this. If some woman was having my husband's baby and wanted him to be part of it's life, you better bet I'm going to be a part of it, too. And IMO, a good step-parent loves and treats her step-children as her own. She might as well start now. You're not the only one. I feel for Janine, she's caught in a very difficult situation, and she's dealing with it far better than I think I would. I really hope they don't make her evil or crazy.

Ok, that right there? That was BRILLIANT! Especially the last two episodes. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.

"The Food Network is casting Season 6 of America's Worst Cooks" They didn't even get the title of the show right.

Disclaimer: I have not watched any of the live feeds. So far, Hex is my favorite, which surprised me. Aside from her alcohol poisoning (at least she acknowledged that she has a problem), she seems very level-headed and willing to hear others out...and not only hear them, but actually listen and understand that others may have a different POV than she does. She seems to be the only one who acknowledges that everyone may have a different view of what "their Utopia" is, and that they all have a right to those views but that they may not all become reality (*coughBellacough*). I love that she listened to Pastor Jonathan (is that his name?) and not only didn't interrupt him, but respectfully asked him questions, and then went to the other women and asked them to give him some pond time.

OMG, seriously. I always have to FF though them. And most of Mark, too, for that matter, since he's mostly with them. And even when he's not, he's just too painfully aware of the cameras. OMG, seriously, again! I don't even mind Jenny that much, usually, I can even be entertained by her, but that episode in London when she would NOT STOP with the terrible "English" accent...I had to turn it off. I just couldn't with that. This show gets one more chance with me. I've almost had enough.

I hope so. A Red and Lizzie romance would be a deal-breaker for me. I've quit shows for less, and I certainly don't love this show enough to try to stomach that.
-
You're very welcome. I enjoy the show, too, and was glad to see that it wasn't cancelled.

We DVR it and usually watch it during dinner. He has this weird thing about liking to watch cooking-related shows while we're eating. But your idea certainly has merit...even if he wins, he wouldn't pick any crazy food ingredients since he would have to eat the result. And if I win...any idea where I can get a really tiny cast iron skillet?

I think it's a toss-up. The contestants (most of them, anyway) seem to be enjoying it more, seeing the absurdity in it all. Those are my favorites, those that get the joke and have fun with it. But on the other hand, the sabotages have gotten far, far stupider. And they love doing a sabotage in the first round that will affect 3 of the 4 chefs. My son loves this show, so we watch together so I can have some "quality" time with him. We each choose a chef, and if our chef gets eliminated, we get to choose another until it's over. Whoever "wins" gets bragging rights. It seems to make the show a little more tolerable for me.

I agree with you, Desperately Random, and dbrits above. I also saw and enjoyed Broadchurch and have been looking forward to Gracepoint. In a way, I even wish they weren't changing any of it, because as you say, a different cast and location will bring changes. The ending of Broadchurch had such an emotional impact, and I can't think of any other murderer who would have quite the same effect. Actually, I can think of one more, but I doubt FOX will go there. Still, I'm interested to see what they'll do. I look at it as like going to see a play, or even a remake of a movie. I would be very disappointed if I went to see a revival of, say, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof only to find out that they changed the ending because some people had already seen the original.

Maybe they got complaints after Q's verbal assault of Nuala. It was certainly disturbing to watch a 32 year old man attack a 19 year old girl with so much venom. But really, with the proliferation of DVR's, I don't know if it really matter what time a show is on anymore, especially something on cable. Personally, I never watch anything except sporting events in real time (and reality competitions, but even those I start late so I can skip the commercials).

I don't care how goofy Ricky's personality is or about his home-alone face grab, when he dances he can do no wrong in my admittedly untrained eyes. I hope he wins, but I won't be upset if Zack does. But it has to be one of those two. Every time Valerie dances, except when she taps, I just can't help thinking that she's not doing anything I couldn't do, and I'm certainly no dancer. Her routine with Aaron just made me realize how much I've missed Aaron. Jessica is such a non-entity to me that I keep forgetting she's on the show. I enjoy her while she's dancing, then I promptly forget her.

This is at the bottom of the interview with Q ShaNaeNae linked to above: The show moved from its original Sunday night time slot and will be replaying its first three episodes beginning Aug. 21, with new episodes beginning on Thursday night Sept. 11 at 11:00 ET.
