  1. Snap, Kunoichi is on now. I gotta see Ayako Miyake in action. And the sumo lady. She was fun to watch.
  2. Bumping up to see if there's been any news about TAR30 getting cast. I'm guessing Bert and Elise are waiting until TAR29 is officially scheduled.
  3. Bumping up for the RR2 marathon tomorrow. Also, RW: Las Vegas is slated for September 17, so we might not get RR3 the following day. I hate to think they'd run the adjacent Campus Crawl, because I never liked seeing Sarah suffer. And aside from her and Kendal's coat, there was nothing worth watching. Well . . . there was Steven getting handcuffed to the hot tub. That was awesome. "Raquel? Raquel???" ETA: RR2 marathon starts at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow. I've set the whole season on DVR.
  4. Ew. No. Aside from Arissa and Brynn, was there anybody worth cheering on that season? And aside from Frank telling Steven that he and Trishelle were "dumb as rocks," was there a "must-watch" moment that season? I'm also convinced that the episode with "Awesome Anne" might be the worst in the show's history . . . at least where physical fighting wasn't involved. At least they're not airing the "reunion" season . . . right? Anybody watching RW4 now? I got it on, but I'm not invested. ETA: Jay's in the spotlight with his girlfriend. Didn't he wind up coming out eventually? And I hope nobody mixes up "Jay From London" with Jay London from Last Comic Standing.
  5. Heads up: I started posting my recaps of Battle Of The Sexes from 2003. I'm posting them on that thread.
  6. Long story. Go here and check out the recaps to the first two episodes.

Reminds me of the Mets' October in 1999. They beat the Pirates at Shea to clinch a tie for the wild card, flew out to Cincinnati to await the Reds' results, beat the Reds in a one-game playoff the following day, then flew to Phoenix to face the Diamondbacks in the NLDS the day after that. Three days, three cities, three wins.
  8. This is from the finale thread. While I can't see anybody trusting BMP, I'm sure most of the "new school" would be happy to walk in the moral minefield. And I really hope Sarah doesn't come back. Why should she? Even if a buttload of lawyers promises her $100,000 up front and access to Johnny's meager genitalia with a stick, BMP can still flip the script at any time. Also, it would be healthier for her to hang with Susie and slag the show on their podcast.

I'm hoping for a rainout on Sunday night for the Mets' sakes. Their game with the Nats got "flexed" by ESPN to 8, and then they have to fly out to Cincinnati to play a 1 p.m. game (noon central). I don't know how they can rest at all with that schedule.
  10. I guess Ruthie would confide in her ex-roommate. I assumed it was Lori because of the nature of how Ruthie was feeling in that episode. I have two articles up: the preview special and my take on the fantasy game. I'm sure that the first two episodes (presented in one hour) will be posted over the weekend. Right now, I'm going to get some more recaps to save. ETA: Forgot about this nugget from Dan in the wedding episode: “The mountains are going to tumble. The skies are going to fall. The world is coming to an end. Ellen’s life has been threatened.” Why did he have to revert to being a jackhole on Inferno II? ETA2: Here's "Jamaica Me Crazy." I'll try to get "Riding (and Dying) In Cars With Boys" up over the weekend.
  11. I figured that MTV Classic will get around to airing the seasons I covered, which is why I'm retrieving them now. Bad News: I can't get Colin and Lori's old sites via Archive, so I'll have to go by memory. For instance, I'm pretty certain Lori was the one who wrote about Beth approaching Ruthie for the Lifesaver when she was sick and puking her guts out.
  12. I reckon it might be a matter of absolute value. I will say that I agree with Melissa being the funniest cast member . . . or at least the most intentionally funny. Latest RW has finished filming. Looks like BMP is sticking with gimmicks, which doesn't qualify as a shocker.
  13. NYCC is five weeks away. I can't be the only person here going. Hopefully, I can have fun and get work done. One stumbling block is that there's going to be stuff near MSG, and I dunno if I can swing that. Apparently, the gang from Doctor Who will have a panel there, and they were absent from CCI.
  14. Read Book Two from the library. I don't think the show will be touching those locales. For one, I don't think John Custer would have met John Wayne in Vietnam. For another, the over-the-top orgy scene wouldn't run on Cinemax. And Allfather would have to be all-CGI. I am amused about the prospect of Herr Starr making the jump to AMC. He's the perfect mix of menacing and buttmonkey. Bad news . . . library doesn't have Book Three. They do have Four and Five, though.
  15. Easy way to die . . . play a game where you drink anytime you hear the word "debris."
  16. Like I said before, Pedro & Me is worth a read. I didn't find it the least bit exploitative. And I highly recommend Judd's Barry Ween books. I tried getting into Hilo, but I'm not the target audience for that,

Bartolo's up with the bases loaded and nobody out. This is not a drill . . . Damn. 5-2-3 double play. That sucked.
  18. Haven't gotten this from the library yet. Wouldn't say that out loud, but I had to share this: I'll still watch it, but man, that's a bit deflating. ETA: Are you guys getting a link window? It's not formatting on my iPad. I'll fix it when I get to my laptop. ETA2: Fixed it. And I was a little put off by the mere idea of Bruce and Babs dating in Mystery of the Batwomen. Seeing them reenact the end of Catwoman #1 that fans bitched about? Yikes.
  19. That guy. Oy. Found this from 2014: Ranking the first decade of roommates. I take issue with the bottom pick, though I reckon that guy was the most miscast person in RW history. Hard to argue with the top pick, though.
  20. Reposted the preview special for Battle Of The Sexes from 2002/2003 on my blog. The funny thing is that I made a reference for New York viewers to tune in on Saturday nights at 1 a.m. to catch Road Rules: Europe. So I guess it was syndicated.
  21. Sure. You can check out the RR forum for the latest chatter. ETA: Here's the link, in case you didn't find it.
  22. Got spoiled about Tobi ages ago. I like the voice work. Was it originally two different actors, or just one playing the roles of butt monkey and ultimate leader? Still liking the ninja hounds. Also like how the anime remembers that this show isn't called Sasuke Shippuden. And the lady with Pain is named Konan. Just another tidbit from the source book stuck in my head.
  23. Looking at MTV Classic's schedule . . . there is no RW slated for September 10. We'll be getting London on 9/3. Was Miami syndicated? If not, could MTV go into the archives to rerun the season? I want to see the threesome . . . or at least Dan, Flora and Sarah trying to sneak a peek. Also . . . would MTV Classic run the casting specials? All I remember about the one leading into RW6 was that a Road Rules exec wanted Sean, and there was as Asian vampire dude in the running. And the RW/RR special from 2000 has to be run, especially with Judd wanting to see a show with Melissa and her parents, David's nose ring, and Rachna's dead-on impression of Kaia.
  24. Can we let Jessie go directly to Stage Three? Damn, she didn't even need the ten-second warning. Then again, she didn't have to exert herself that much. She could have just ran on top of the broken ninjas littering the course and not gotten her feet wet. Oh, and Matt and Akbar definitely need a fresh pair of pants following her run. I'm guessing the ten fewer ninjas can be blamed on the Olympics. I have reservations about Kacy getting a wild card. Minimum, she'd have to clear the Warped Wall to make it worthwhile. I hate being harsh, but I don't think she's that relevant. Maybe she can go farther with less of a load on her shoulders. Like Flip without the mask or something. Oh, and Flip? Facial hair doesn't work for you, dude. Could he have stuff pasted on his face while doing stunts?
  25. Checking MTV Classic's site . . . no sign of any RR on September 11. Maybe it'll be run every other week? There's no RW slated the day before. I think RR1 will be run on September 8-9. For anybody who was into RR3 . . . was Antoine . . . ambiguous in his original tour of duty? I still have memories of the "Toine-ata" shown on the reunion after BOTS1, with him yelling, "Anything for my boys!"
