  1. South Park laced into China last week, about how American studios alter their scripts in order to appeal to the Chinese government, thus getting their money. I was recovering from New York Comic Con, so I was fading in and out of consciousness. I might need to rewatch. I dunno what was worse: Donald Duck: Eugenicist, or a rendering of what his dick looks like.
  2. Ah, Black Lightning. About as subtle as an anvil dropped from low orbit. Seriously, how does Freeland make money through tourism? Every year, a new crisis comes that's worse than the previous one. Red skies might be seen as an improvement. Damn, Tobias looks like shit. And Odell needs to be killed in an awful fashion. And maybe the principal can die ever worse. You just know his useless ass is still alive.
  3. I think it airs again this Tuesday, after The Flash.
  4. Two things: 1. This Saturday returns the return of One-Punch Man and the debut of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. 2. The week after that? Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind arrives. Needless to say, I am amped as fuck for that.
  5. Reminder: Primal starts it's five-day "event" run tonight.
  6. An important actor visits the set. I'm thinking if there's an Ed here, she'd have to be CGI because her canon self would be too unique for an actress to play. Then again, I thought the same about Molly while reading Runaways.
  7. Interesting start. The origins seems faithful to the modern canon, with some twists thrown in (Batman being unable to save Kate's twin, Kate's spirit quests being engineered by her dad, Kate reuniting to her love only to find her with a guy). In other news, I am convinced that Luke Fox and Curtis Holt might be related. Or maybe there's a machine that can dart out smart guys who are also huge putzes. Alice doesn't seem as annoying as Jervis "Made Hatter" Tetch over on Gotham. Hopefully, she doesn't have some poor sap whose blood can drive people insane. Just checking . . .this is on Earth-1, right? So the events that we're seeing are from the past, before Kate's part in "Elseworlds," correct? Or should I not dwell on that. "Why did Batman leave Gotham? Reasons. Just . . . reasons." ETA: I should be glad there's a series. Think about it . . . Ruby Rose gets cast, got a shitload of hate . . . and she almost gets killed while making the series.
  8. Funny115: Quick entry on the way-too-nice Albert.
  9. Damn it, Lena. We couldn’t have her completely forgive Kara about the exclusion of certain facts. We couldn’t have her shiny AI carry out her will by its lonesome. Hope, Lena is a Luthor. Lena has to be the bad guy. Lena can watch Kara blubber about being Supergirl, offer her support, then continue to carry out her grudge. Shit, man. Looks like a lot of balls have been flung into the air, and we have a crisis looming. New boss lady takes over and basically out-bitches Cat in her first season prime, handcuffing everyone to their contracts as she tries to make CatcCo “current.” J’onn has a brother with a raging mad-on for him. Brainy and . . . and . . . fuck, I forgot her name . . . Amanabe try to get closer. Also, Brainy is still Brainy, so he’s gotta be ham about most everything. His redesigned suit for Kara is awesome, though. Also: “PANTS!” Such a cute moment. Seriously, Lena is evil. What the hell, damn writers?!? ETA: God’s honest, I dunno where “Amanabe” came from.
  10. I’m at New York Comic Con, and I met Jody Houser as she leaving the DC Comics area. I thanked her for her work on the ongoing DW series. She told me there’s going to be a team-up between Thirteen and Ten next year, set in 1969. I know this thread doesn’t get much attention, but I figured some of you might be interested.
  11. Sound off . . . anyone else at Sam’s panel at New York Comic Con right now? ETA: Here was what the panel was promoting. Except for the small mob scene for free t-shirts afterward, it was fun. I hope it’ll get covered on Wednesday. 🤞
  12. Is anyone else at New York Comic Con? There’s an SPandme booth, presumably where you can take the test.
  13. FXX introduces the Tunt-0-Meter.
  14. Is anyone watching? I went to the Robot Chicken panel today at New York Comic Con. As always, lots of fun. They ended with two hilarious sketches:
  15. You know how some toy companies will sell cereal with collectable boxes? I was at New York Comic Con today, I passed by the FYE booth, and I saw . . . Super Colon Blow. For real.
  16. *dramatic piano plays* JO! JO! GOLDEN WIND!!!!! And here's protagonist Giorno getting to know Bruno. And his tongue!!
  17. Am I “anal” in saying that Clark being an EIC isn’t very Kingdom Come? The canon was a lot more isolated at the start of the original miniseries.

    MLB Thread

Surprising. Now I’m imaging Joe Maddon opening his door and finding Brodie and/or the Wilpons. “Heeeeeeeeeey, buddy . . .”
  19. "No legends were harmed in the making of this episode." Next week looks more intense, with Zach picking on Natalie yet again, and Turbo getting into it with Jordan. "He has one hand? I will make it fair fight. Cut off one of my hands, I still win." Nice the the US manage to not shoot themselves in the foot yet again this week, though Teege made things a lot easier. I mean, a lot of the trivia questions directed to the UK seemed tougher. You think any of them knew Tiger Woods' birth name? Or which continent occupies all four hemispheres? In summary: "Paulie: tell me the colors of the American flag. Bear: what are the last two digits of my Social Security number?" Jenny vs. Nicole? Meh. Jenny wins and comes back to her team? Meh some more. One intriguing plot point is that CT is clearly getting fed up with his team. In his head, he's probably grumping about how he could have stayed home if he wanted to babysit. Josh? Still sucks. I love it when Big Brother contestants fight, though. Probably a little too much.
  20. This Week: The Gang try to "save" the remake of Mr. Smith Goes To Washington. Wait, that was The Simpsons and Mel Gibson. Nope, this is about the neutering of the Thunder Gun franchise. Good episode about toxic fandom. I think South Park was better this week, but IASIP did good with the Gang trying to fix their beloved franchise and the gratuitous dong-hanging. Also, the guys shitting on Dee's moves to fit into the bigger moments. As usual, it turns out the Gang helped contribute to the franchise's reboot by watching past entries off pirate sites. And when they try to "solve" the problem, they actually succeed in bringing back the old maschimo of John Thundergun . . . but they'd rather watch the movie online than go to the theater and pay for it. I will say, "To the sewers!" is a nice rallying cry from Charlie. Next Week: "Dee Day." May God have mercy on us all.
  21. "Why are you covered in blood and honey? Did you kill Winnie the Pooh?" The season is going strong going into its 300th episode next week. Randy is smart enough to see a market, but dumb enough to actually bring his product to China. And he winds up selling out some more, as poor, poor Pooh Bear pays the price. Anyone else half-expecting Piglet to wind up hanging outside of a market? Who was playing as the band? Dethklok? I'm thinking Randy's parental neglect might be worse than Gerald insigating shit two years ago. On the bright side, I think that will be reflected in the credits all season. I liked the return of the Producer (based on that guy from The Partridge Family?) and Fingerbang. Stan rewriting the biopic with the Chinese official was also unexpectedly funny. And yeah, China sees to have too much pull in global media. Sadly, Randy didn't take Butters along. Lots of people would've gotten shot in the dick.
  22. Still not remembering names, save for The Idols. Nice setup with the lesson on listening. And today's contestant hesitated long enough for Rob to sweeten the pot. I'm guessing Probst was behind the camera, silently begging Rob to try and make the new twist more interesting. Like watching Let's Make a Deal or Sale of the Century. Also: What's-Her-Name hiding her idol in her hair while begging others to search her? Gutsy, gutsy move. Yes, (Rob and Sandra) > Cochran. Well, maybe Sandra. Cochran didn't need that much help winning on his second try. There are idols hidden at the camps. Of course there are. I say it every season: hide a damn idol INSIDE the tribal immunity idol.
  23. Capt. Janeway??? I know, the original looks are dated. Now I'm wondering what Pariah looks like.
