S11.E16: Las Vegas National Finals Night 4
Lantern7 replied to Lantern7's topic in American Ninja Warrior
Seth Rogers falls on Cane Lane. I'm hoping he becomes a mainstay, just to hear Akbar shout, "If you don't like Big Red, then fuck you!!!" ETA: No Limit Nate, 'Bama Ninja and Kevin Carbone get WWWA. And damn "The Maker" was so close to the final obstacle. Six left . . . I think. -

Big Kat gets a bath on Cane Lane. At least he's on the short list for "Best Mom" honors. Eleven left. Is Crazy Clocks too easy? Will Dwayne Johnson announce a new season of The Titan Games? 🤷♂️ ETA: Tyler Smith got WWWA & exterminated. Ten left. Hey, pics of the hosts at 19! 🙄 -

Matt and Akbar are ejaculating so hard . . . and Matt is so light-headed, he remembers Geoff's existence. Drew Drechel has cleared Stage Three. Congratulations! -

Lucas clears Ultimate Cliffhanger, but falls on the following obstacle We're down to fifteen. Pipe Dream looks like it's going to be a bitch-and-a-half to anyone getting that far. -

Damn. Michael Torres really wanted it. Seeing Isaac in the opening montage . . . you think that if Geoff Britten were to get angry and break a TV screen with his forearm, he'd feel it? Chris Digangi WWWA and done. Eighteen left. -
We're picking up speed as that brick wall starts coming into view. I got a few trade paperbacks on Comxiology, and it's a little funny to see stuff from the original comics on screen, albeit presented differently. I knew Jesse would lose an eye though this season's credits gave it away. Now, the bit where God bites off Jesse's eye? That was unexpected. Given that there's never been a huge outcry about how far the series has gone, maybe that's a reason why this is the final season. Herr Starr remains a shining star, as bits of his canon get flicked into the mix. Kinda wish the bit with the cannibals ("wub") was expanded, but I'm good with what I got. And now, he's beautiful again, and he's presiding over the apocalypse. They got an air date for it! Was it too obvious that Humperdoo wouldn't get Old Yeller'd? Who could kill him? Even if you want to send a message, he's just so pathetic. The breakdancing clone? Inspired . . . as was the device clearly labeled "SONIC NAUSEATOR." That some old-school Batman shit from 1966 right there . . . because at this point, why the fuck not?!? Hey, Eugene exists. Poor bastard. It's like H-doo exists merely to make him look less sad by comparison.

Tonight is the night!!! I'm thinking five guys reach Stage Four, and Drew get the $1 million.

The president doesn’t know what he’s talking about. There’s a news flash. It is good that John manages to shine light on a process most Americans don’t know about (even when they say that do). And John’s bias is welcomed in this case. In other news, Putin has rappers on his side, FBN people suck, and Joe Kenda is a scary motherfucker. Good to know. Holy cow, It does exist. Maybe there could be one you can spin on a turntable as it frantically waves at you.

Anybody else keeping up. Way too many moving parts for me. Too many dead ninjas to cover. At least the White Zetsu guys aren't really supposed to be individual.

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations - General Discussion
Lantern7 replied to Sandman87's topic in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations
Nice to see that Konahamaru AND his friends grew up to be splendid ninjas in their own right. Udon had allergy troubles, but he made it work. Good for him. I don’t think he got a raw deal with the genin assigned to him. They can learn from each other, and maybe Udon can stop Iwabe to stop all those manly tears. Byakuya Gang arc is over. That was getting tiresome, mostly because of the leader. “I tricked this kid into blindly following me! And now that I no longer need him, I’m cutting loose and not getting ANY comeuppance!! MWAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!! Say, what is that weird orange flash?” Cut to Naruto on the train tracks, all “Yara yara daze,” because he can’t believe that guy was so one-note. Seriously, Naruto never got promoted to chunin? At all?!? -
Caught the bit I missed last week, with the death of Hoover Deuce. ”Chief? Have I got a story for you! This here World is deep in that gumbo! Y’see- . . . yes, this is a Southern accent. Aside from that there Kraut, who don’t got an accent? Hang on, the familiar-looking coffee guy looks to have got the drop on me.”

The Promised Neverland - General Discussion

I have to share. -
Apparently, DC Comics has a digital gen:Lock comics, and it will be seeing print as a seven-issue miniseries that debuts in November, along with RWBY. Here's the solicitation: And that's how I was spoiled on Dr. Weller's death Ah well. I just figured you'd be interested. Oh, and this came up on Toonami tonight: Man, David Tennant is something else, isn't he?

I think it's best to root for individuals, especially since there's a chance the team format could break apart. There are assholes/arseholes on both sides, and I don't consider this to be an "either/or" situation.

Food Wars! (Shokugeki no Soma) - General Discussion
Lantern7 replied to Lantern7's topic in Food Wars! (Shokugeki no Soma)
Meanwhile, Blonde Italian Cook Soma Takumi and his twin brother Isami bagged a duck. I can imagine the other students' reactions. "Wow, I was so stressed on failing and getting expelled, it did not occur to me to find a bird, strangle it, and prep it for cooking." As for Actual Soma . . . looks like he's going to fight for Megumi against a dickhead judge. In my head, anytime shit comes to a head, someone should just say "One, Two, Three, Four, I declare a Food War." Meh . . . probably doesn't rhyme in Japanese. ETA: Looked up the anime's Crowning Moments of Funny page on TVTropes. Hence the name corrections. -
Teaser. Can you name the references?

At minimum, Paulie looked pissed off. I might be wrong on that, but I wouldn't say that he and Cara Maria share a brain. As for Johnny . . . he might be banking on everyone eventually playing for themselves. Either way, all he really has is his woody at Wes leaving the game that early. True, the positions were reversed last season, but I like Wes better because he's nowhere near as mean-spirited as Johnny, and he doesn't need the BMP teat to survive. He didn't seem to get off on Johnny's dismissal as Johnny did anytime Wes left. You can't imagine Wes hanging out behind Johnny during a field interview, making fun of him. In contrast, Jonny probably has asked to do that to Wes, while waving a "GOD HATES GINGERS" sign.

Season Three and Beyond: FFwSB
Lantern7 replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Full Frontal With Samantha Bee
It's funny Sam did a bit on the president and golf. i just finished reading Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump by Rick Reilly. Great book, unless you want to avoid getting angry at that guy some more. Basically, he is the worst everywhere, including on the links. Sam should have back the bus over Rudy Giuliani some more. What a creep he is. I don't think she could top the time he was incoherent on a morning show. The display showed the time being "9:12," and Sam quipped that he usually faded "after nine-eleven." Nastiest thing she said, and that was the episode she referred to Ivanka as a "feckless c**t." But hey, Rudy deserves it.
