Dang, Mia is bleeding. That never happens.

Anyone else wondering if Diggle blows chunks traveling between Earths?

βHoss. Hoss Hoss Hoss Hoss, Hoss Hoss Hoss!!!β

Is this Earth-2? No mention of Robert being The Hood.

Archer on archer violence. Only thing missing is Malcolm and Monitor sharing popcorn.

I can hear the screams when Curtis is mentioned. πππ

βHello, Oliver Queen. Malcolm Merlyn is a handsome man. Is that the case on your Earth?β I like the early-2000s Black Canary look, though.

Iβve read the manga, so I know whatβs going on. I reckon we had a little too much of King and Saitama. As far as ironic looks go, Kingβs is a winner. He looks tough as hell, a guy youβd assume was Class-S, but heβs entirely rep. At least Mr. Satan can wrestle. Nice touch that the sound of the βKing Engineβ is the sound of his heart pounding. Hereβs a sketch I got of King from Jim Zub in 2016. Iβve been carrying references of two other characters, one of them being βHellish Blizzard.β I hope I can get her sketched soon. (ETA: The artist wasnβt aware of the character, so thereβs no irony about the character)

Congratulations, @Bryce Lynch. You may have damned yourself for eternity. I hope it was worth it. πππ

S03.E02: The Book of Occupation: Chapter Two: Maryamβs Tasbih
Lantern7 replied to Trini's topic in Black Lightning
*ssssiiiiiiiiiiggggggggghhhhh* Is there ANY outcome where Freeland comes out anywhere near as good as it was at the start of the series? And I know it wasn't great then, but it's beyond bleak now. Even if the occupying forces are defeated and humiliated, it's not going to be enough. Seriously, does Freeland go for the "Most Ironically-Named Town In America!" for tourism? Maybe I'm going through Tobias withdrawal. Like I need his cynicism and evil to get through an episode. At least we got Lala the Unkillable to scare the fuck out of everybody. I'll take him over the occupation forces and a bunch of dudes who probably played extra in Bratva episodes of Arrow. Oh, and Khalil is basically the Winter Solider, and he just killed his mother. I would have figured that she would have run like almighty hell when she saw him, because things are never good when he comes back from the dead. -
ABC is doing a stripped-down version of The Mole. It's probably not related, but there are a lot of similarities.

I watched. I liked. I will say that any group that watches it should head to the nearest diner and talk about it for at least ninety minutes, because I feel that was a lot of stuff to go through. Sometimes, I think that I should wean myself away from blockbusters. Well, ironically, Joker might be a good start. It was an uncomfortable two hours, but you can go in clean. Not too many references to canon (though the bit with a diminutive sex therapist -- a Dr. Ruth expy -- made me chuckle, since that happened in The Dark Knight Returns). Phoenix was good . . . since I'm not a cinephile, I can't say if he deserves consideration for awards . . . but holy shit, he went for it. Gaunt, spooky, scary motherfucker. I do figure that him and Heath Ledger's performances of the same character (or character with the same basic title) is an apple/oranges thing. Art Fleck = A. Fleck = Affleck = Ben Affleck? Or am I free-associating too hard? And I know this was an Eighties-looking set-piece . . . but who the hell just grabs a tape from a local comedy club, runs it on air, and then uses it for cheap laughs? For that alone, Murray deserved a bullet to the head.

Naruto mashup fan art. βNinja Timeβ with Kiba and Akamaru is cute, and Iβm impressed by the larger group shots.

One good thing about a three-day weekend? Camping out on the SPS site for a press release about a new episode. Five more minutes, and I would have missed the announcement of "Let Them Eat Goo." Don't you just hate it when the guys go for the obvious social trend, and it never occurred to you at all? Oh, and no new episode on October 23.

Good episode. I was hoping Lena was just hamming things up for the sake of her AI, and that she really wasn't going to stomp on Kara's heart. No such luck . . . and now Hope has possessed Eve. I'm sure that won't backfire horribly. I mean, she did try to kill Lena . . . but come on, who hasn't at one point or another? Andrea continues to be a horrific stereotype of New Media. Shit, you could replace the character with a character that actually embodies New Media over in American Gods, and it would be an improvement. And, natch, she's shady. I'm guessing we want Cat Grant to drop by and just give her the business. I know that won't happen. We won't even get Snapper Carr stopping by the office, looking Andrea in the eyes, rolling his eyes and groaning, then walking back into the cornfield from which he has been relegated. I guess I'm waiting on the overall plot to start solidifying. Yeah, it's frustrating, but it doesn't feel like last season, where I felt like the writers were slapping me in the face with a phone book. Really hoping Lord McDouchingberg isn't shoved in Kara's direction as a love interest. She doesn't really need a Mon a man like that. On the other hand, at least she doesn't have Brainiac continuing to schmuck things up as he shows affection. [Tangent: I was okay with Mon-El as a love interest for Kara, in the sense they were both aliens that had to adapt to Earth culture, albeit at different points in their lives. The new guy is already trying to track Kara, which is shysty AF.] In terms of costume transformation . . . why not have Kara go through a minute-long Sailor Moon-style transformation sequence? It would save a few bucks, right?

Well . . . looks like both teams have one win apiece heading to The Bronx. Took 'em . . . .what? Almost five hours? I know tomorrow is a federal holiday, but eleven innings shouldn't take that long. I think I heard Joe Buck say four hours. 49 minutes.
-
So . . . John Oliver has an impression of Eddie Vedder. I'm not sure if that's awesome or horrific. Even funnier than the old graphic of reindeer hanging off Santa's sled over the roof.

Well, that was fun. While I'd want Kate to start whuppin' on more folks, Alice and her bunch make for good introductory foes. And Alice has the makings of a great archfoe. Bonus: she's using Alice in Wonderland has a theme and she's nowhere near as obnoxious about it as Jervis Tetch was over in Gotham. There can be only one. I'm good with Ruby. I'm guessing the showrunners were going for asskickery as the prime qualification. Does anyone think there's a conflict of interest? I'm good with her either way.

Yankees fans? I wouldn't be too shocked.

Thanks to HBO finales, the episode starts at 11:35 p.m.

To lighten the mood, hereβs Lambington as Buzz Lightyear.

S45.E03: David Harbour/Camila Cabello
Lantern7 replied to Princess Sparkle's topic in Saturday Night Live
Tonight's Winners: Oscar the Grouch, folk singing, unruly pug. Was that the one from the "Translator" sketch? I hope so, only because I would find it funny that SNL always had a pug on standby, *sigh* I'm one of about ten people nationwide that still uses conventional cable services. I can get Stranger Things on DVD from the library, but I never have the time to binge. Comedy Central had to run back-to-back episodes of Bojack Horseman late Wednesday nights for me to "get" it. Also,I didn't see the new Hellboy movie, so I don't think I have ever seen Harbour in anything. At least he owned up to how dumb he looked on WU. -
Any thought on Primal? Great stuff. I'll understand if Genndy lets it stand on its own . . . but it was badass the entire way.
