  1. Does anyone know what Sutton's ex does for work? For her to bring in $3.6 million per year ($300K/month) in alimony/child support, he must be an extremely wealthy person. I wonder how many years she will get that. Hopefully she invests a lot of it.
  2. If Austin wanted to f*ck Becca, he would have done it by now... esp if they are getting along, having fun, feeling comfortable with each other, etc. The poor girl should preserve her own dignity at this point and treat him as a platonic friend, not even doing the kisses and stuff. Sadly, if she turned cold on him, he'd probably pursue her harder. This is the classic pursuer-distancer dynamic., which normally starts to evolve at least a couple of years or longer into a relationship. But to have it happening to this degree, and never having sex, at the very beginning, indicates that these two are not a match. Its a feature not a bug.
  3. I feel sorry for Melissa - that is not a good nose job at all. I speak with some experience as I had one done 20 years ago. In my case, I sought out someone whose specialty was facial plastic surgery, and in particular rhinoplasty. The guy has hundreds of published research articles, written several clinical books, multiple board certifications, teaches other surgeons around the world, and is just highly specialized in the area. I was so fortunate to find someone like him where I lived back then. Hers sadly looks like a very inexpensive job from someone who doesn't have the skillset to make it look subtle and natural.
  4. Am I the only one who was thinking that Lauren should have been matched with the guy who got left at the alter? For some reason, I think they could work as a couple.
  5. Something I haven't seen mentioned is Mary and Brandon's baby. I found myself even more concerned about their situation after hearing about what happened during the birth. I have a cousin who was born with the cord wrapped around his neck and it lead to him having many disabilities and only functioning at a very young age mentally throughout life. He has a lot of needs, and it was difficult for his parents, who were stable emotionally and financially and had access to good resources in terms of medical and education. I hope their baby fares better, because they already have a very unstable situation.
  6. Wow, those are worse than I thought they would they would be. Trashy dude.
  7. I'm finding myself curious about Sutton's ex-husband's assets and income. It must be extremely high for her to be getting $3.6 million each year. I wonder if there is a cap on how many years she will get that, as well as how much she actually spends each year. Hopefully she is investing a lot of it.
  8. I saw JT's episode tonight - was it a new one or a rerun? I don't remember him - he was almost 900 lbs.
  9. Just wanted to share I just finished listening to Heather's book from the library. She reads the audio book herself. I felt like it was a light-hearted, somewhat shallow overview of her life. It was interesting to read it after seeing her on the show for the past few years. What I found odd was near the end, she writes a long section on each of the original housewives. Her story about Whitney was strange and I wasn't quite sure why she shared the details she did about their boudoir photo shoot.
  10. There is one word to sum up all that is Orion and that word is EGO. Dude has a massive ego and he couches it in all this other stuff like his culture, etc., which allows him to be the victim while taking ZERO ownership of his faults, mistakes, baggage, etc. I hope Lauren runs far away from him.
  11. Is Reba wearing a wig or is that her real hair? (serious question)
  12. Someone upthread asked about Heather's book being available as an audiobook - my library has it. I put a hold on it.
  13. Can someone explain Meredith's speech and vocal patterns to me? There is something that sounds so strange to me about the way she speaks. Is she faking it? Trying to make some sort of impression with it? Or is it just the way she speaks naturally? For some reason it doesn't sound natural to my ears, but I'm open to being wrong.
  14. I'm only now watching these episodes, but I see that Mary and Brandon are in equivalent positions - they are both young, with a fair amount of emotional difficulties due to their childhoods - and they are trying to use the relationship to fix these issues. I think they both have the same core issue- abandonment and instability, but use different language for it. Each wants the other to heal them of it. Mary uses control to manage her anxiety around being left, while Brandon uses clinging to Mary to heal his feeling of not being able to trust anyone. He frames it as he needs Mary to trust him, but I think he is projecting that it is him who cannot trust (due to his mom's instability/etc). Everyone does this to some extent - we rely on relationships to give us a sense of stability/connection/trust/etc. and forming a healthy relationship can help us get over baggage from the past. But these two are very young and its almost like two drowning people clinging to each other, which doesn't work. Maybe they will beat the odds if they can each dial down their unhealthy behaviors, they can form a healthy connection that will last, which would help to heal their emotional wounds from the past. Statistically its not in their favor but you never know.
  15. There are so many people in this family, and then with the extreme differences between Barry and Kim's personalities, I think its inevitable that there would be a bunch of conflicts at some point. Its also very common for the person who marries into a family to see it all with a different lens than the ones who lived in it since birth. Olivia saw through all the BS, but she underestimated the strength of the familial bonds when she decided to take a stand. I think it was doomed from the start. She wouldn't have been happy if she just rolled over and accepted it and she isn't going to be happy with Ethan wanting more connection to his family.
  16. I was happy to see Gina won, but if she hadn't gained extra weight she wouldn't have. I suppose that's how it goes with this show though, they can't prevent people from doing that. The environment was just so unappealing. I skipped a few episodes. Also, my DVR had the names of the two final participants in the show description for the last episode! Way to give it away DirecTV!
  17. I enjoyed watching Ed tell everyone about Jovi. Jovi is such a little punk - he gets off the boat and runs home by himself. You can tell he absolutely HATED all of his behavior being out in the open. I hope Yara leaves him.
  18. I had a few episodes on my DVR and finally watched the most recent one. I then reflected on why I am not feeling engaged with this season and realized its due to the environment. For some reason, all those dead trees in the water just grosses me out... I think about all that rotted wood under the water. It just looks dirty and nasty IMO. I also have had a life-long issue with lakes. I don't like water where I can't see the bottom and where there may be plants and other material underneath me. It gives me the heebie-jeebies. Then you have all the mud. UGH!!! I can't imagine wanting to eat something that lives in that water. Which brings me to eels. The thought of eating one makes me gag. I was gagging along with that one lady who was trying not to puke as she ate eel. In summary, the environment has killed it for me. I'll watch to see who wins, but that's about it.
  19. I try to imagine the moment with Kooty sittin' on one of their big leather couches, with his reading glasses, scrolling through his social media and Christine's wedding pics popping up in his feed. I truly wonder what went through his mind. Its got to be a gut punch for him to see her so happy with another man. He fully deserves any negative feelings it causes him.
  20. I am clearly out of the loop since I didn't even know they had any kids!
  21. I find myself wondering why there are so many better singers this season than last.... to my ears at least. I am going to enjoy this season based on the talent alone. I don't care for Reba personally, but in general I place more weight on the singers than the judges, so I can handle it.
  22. Did anyone else notice that there seemed to be something weird with the video footage but not in the talking heads? I noticed a weird subtle lagging thing going on throughout the episode.
  23. I am 4/5ths of the way through the first night of auditions and I am already over Reba. As I always do with this show, I will be keeping my finger right on the ffwd button, and will be using it often with her. That aside, I'm excited because there are some that I actually really, genuinely like and that reached my emotions. I didn't feel that way last season.
  24. Question - I haven't watched the whole episode, but in the first few segments featuring Meredith, her eyebrows seem huge and almost cartoon-like. Anyone else?
