Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"
Browncoat replied to Betweenyouandme's topic in Everything Else
Unfortunately, that gets me sent to the hold music, the same as if I press whichever number is the option I need. -
Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"
Browncoat replied to Betweenyouandme's topic in Everything Else
My current peeve is that I can't get through to a real person on the phone. I have to make several calls -- I can't seem to figure out how to do what I need to do on line -- and I am sick and tired of being on hold forever! -
Say What?: Commercials That Made Us Scratch Our Heads

Because they can't! -
I pre-guessed Ovid when I saw the category -- also because he's the only one I can name. Fortunately, I stuck with it when the clue was revealed. I also got the TS of Gibson, figuratively, and carbohydrate.

I don't know how to react to that! I'm sad that he had a stroke, but glad he's recovering.- 3.5k replies

Fashion Don'ts: Worst Movie Outfits
Browncoat replied to Wiendish Fitch's topic in Everything Else About Movies
The only redeeming value to the dress in Poor Things is that it fit the aesthetic of the movie. In a quirky movie like that one, you need quirky costuming. -
Fashion Don'ts: Worst Movie Outfits

Right up until the end of that article when she says she'd love it now. Nope nope nope. Not then, not now. Still, always, and forever a hideous dress. -
FilmNight: Movies you watched recently

I don't know how accurate it is, but I've always been partial to the 1973 version of The Three Musketeers with Richard Chamberlain. -
Oh yeah, I got Genovia as one of my TS.
-
It was in one of the live versions, I think. I haven't seen it on the online sites, either. The original lyrics to Money For Nothing have been changed, too -- there's one verse that's always left out on the radio now, though you can find them online.

They refer to Linda Lou as a c-word -- c u next Tuesday.
-
They say the c-word! (also, I'm a boomer.)

Put me at the doughnut table -- 0/5 this week.
-
And I had a perfect week for FJ! Did not get a single one. I wasn't able to keep up with all the TS, but I do remember that I got Nicaragua and scone.
-
I listened to "Gimme Three Steps" which has a really bad word in it that somehow never gets censored on the radio.
-
That is exactly the way I've felt the past several months.
-
I'm away from home, so I can't keep track of TS (the only one I remember was B12), but I did not get FJ tonight. I did figure out it was something about a star, but otherwise, I had nothing. I may be looking at a perfect zero week this week for FJs!
-
Well, I'm 0 for 3 in FJ this week. I just couldn't come up with anything. I did get the TS of Kazakhstan on a wild-ass guess, and trees because I actually knew that one. I really really wish Nick hadn't missed that DD.

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"

It's possible. We used to say that lost items actually time travelled to the future, and were waiting for us to catch up and find them. It was remarkable how many times we'd look in a place on one day and not find the thing, but then look in the same place a week later, and the thing would be there. -
Catching up from Tuesday night -- I didn't get FJ, but feel like I should have done. It was so obvious after the correct response was revealed. I did get the TS of pleat, New Mexico, Gombe, and Ransom of Red Chief, which is an awesome story.

My father died yesterday morning, early. Nothing like that 2:00 am phone call. Like @bmasters9's father, he was at home, and it was peaceful. It was a long time coming, but was very fast at the end -- two weeks ago, he was walking and joking around, and then suddenly he was bedridden and non-verbal. People seem to think I'm not grieving properly. That I'm not sad enough or something because I'm at work, and not weeping constantly. But as I said, it was a long time coming, and I have been at the acceptance stage for months. So I am sad, but not devastated.

Say What?: Commercials That Made Us Scratch Our Heads
Browncoat replied to Lola16's topic in Commercials
Sometimes it's just too much effort to make a sandwich. Much easier to open a box, get a bowl, pour the cereal, pour the milk and be done with it. -
I had no idea for FJ tonight, and I only got two TS -- "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf," and fleece.

Pet Peeves: For when your neck pain is a pain in the neck
Browncoat replied to TattleTeeny's topic in Health & Wellness
I am near a walk-in clinic, but I opted not to do anything and let it run its course. It's pretty much finished now. Still no idea what it was, but as I'm very nearly back to what passes for normal for me, I'm not sure it matters what it was. 🙂 -
I am executor, and will likely have to set up an estate account, although almost everything has someone listed as POD. I worry about the post office delivering the checks in a timely fashion! I guess they'll let me know if the checks are denied. I do have electronic access as of now to the accounts, but that will go away when POA does, I think.
