I had no idea at all for FJ tonight. The only TS I got were Toulouse-Lautrec, records, Peking Man, and divorce.

After Charles gets transferred to the 4077, the writers seem to forget that Hawkeye went to medical school in Boston. Perhaps Harvard, perhaps not, but I always thought Hawkeye Boston vs Charles Boston would have been a treasure trove.

No FJ for me tonight. I've never read Heart of Darkness, though I have seen Apocalypse Now, and I've heard of Kurtz. Had no idea it was German for short. I did get the TS of 8 seconds, Stanley and Livingston, demonstration, Panama, and Paul Harvey. Did deb seem this bored the first time around?

Say What?: Commercials That Made Us Scratch Our Heads
Browncoat replied to Lola16's topic in Commercials
He looks more like Vincent Price to me -- still adds to the creepy factor. -
Found it, thanks! I could have done without Luke mouthing the words along with Tracy when she was singing, but otherwise, it was great!
-
I'm still missing a W-2.
-
That's the one I went to. I didn't see it in the comments on fark, and I also didn't see it in the comments on the linked article. The only links I saw were to Joni's performance, not to Tracy/Luke's. I'll look again later, after I get home and can access more sites.
-
Yes. Maybe I'm just blind. I see the link to the Joni Mitchell performance, though.
-
I'm still not seeing a link to the Tracy Chapman/Luke Combs performance. OTOH, I do see a couple of links to the site formerly known as Twitter, but I am at work, and that site is blocked.
-
I had to watch Joni while I was at home, by myself. I knew it would wreck me. @peacheslatour, I'm not seeing a link to the Grammy performance, but thanks for looking!
-
I can't find a link to the whole performance, just snippets. Can anyone else? I'd like to see it -- I opted not to watch the Grammys.
-
I've only ever heard it called an Allen wrench.

Angkor Wat came to mind immediately. It took a few seconds for me to remember where Angkor Wat is, but I got it in plenty of time to write it down. I also got the TS of fanfare, United Nations, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, sea lions, and yawning. I'm one of those weird people who actually likes the Rime of the Ancient Mariner.
-
I mostly read and pined for this site, but was also happy the new seasons of shows I watch hasn't started yet. I don't know too many people IRL who watch the same shows I do.
-
Many thanks to the son of a son of a sailor for keeping me from being skunked this week -- 1/5. And thanks to @shapeshifter for the link to Joni Mitchell's Grammy performance. I was too tired last night to bother watching even the red carpet (sorry I missed Miley's safety pin dress), much less the ceremony.

Glad to see y'all back! I found myself less interested in the games without people to discuss it with. (Ugh, that sentence!). So I may not have paid as much attention to the games last week, but I did get a few TS, including The Mary Tyler Moore Show (Monday), Clemson, egad, Toledo, glass (Tuesday), Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?, Roger Corman, spent, biometrics (Wednesday), Lorne Greene (Thursday), gall bladder, and Inklings (Friday). Only one FJ, though -- the easiest one on Wednesday.

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"

I don't mind fish, and microwave popcorn is fine as long as it isn't burnt. Burnt popcorn is the worst. -
Last year, I had a pipe freeze and break, and the water bill was astronomical! But I called the water authority, who looked up my past bills, and they were able to reduce the high bill by about 75%. I mean, I still paid way more than usual, but I didn't have to pay the whole thing.

A sad 2/5 for me this week.

Instaget FJ for me tonight. The only TS I got was Rappahannock.
-
Olivia would be a much more believable flirt if she would actually look at the person she's supposedly flirting with instead of at the teleprompter behind him. One of the guys on Wings used to do that all the damn time, too, and it's really distracting and annoying to me.
-
I said Les Miserables for FJ. But at least I got the TS of tort and trot, firth, and moveable.
-
I can't take credit -- it's what they call it in their catalog.

Perhaps it's a Wells Fargo building? -
S02.E13: Final: Mo Rocca, Lisa Ann Walter and Katie Nolan
Browncoat replied to Athena's topic in Celebrity Jeopardy!
What a great game! I loved all the category names. So creative and witty. I was surprised that only one of them got FJ, though. Seemed obvious to me -- the biggest cliche in murder mystery history. I did wish Mo and Katie would stop swaying so much.
