In Memoriam: Entertainment Industry Celebrity Deaths
Browncoat replied to Kromm's topic in Everything Else TV
That especially sucks in a year of suckitude. RIP, Eddie. -
FJ was one of those I feel like I should have gotten, but did not. Alas. Off to a great start this week! NOT! I did, however, get the TS of Madagascar, bear, pacemaker, JFK, Cicero, and Julie Walters. Cicero was a lucky guess -- he was the only orator I could think of.

I actually saw a commercial for TAR! I might be willing to believe they're really truly finally going to air it!

What New Foods Have You Tried?: Like It? Hate It? Share Here!
Browncoat replied to WendyCR72's topic in Food & Drink
I tried the new Cinnamon Cheerios today. They're okay -- nothing to write home about. Seems like most of the cinnamon comes off in milk, and the Cheerios don't taste very cinnamon-y after the first couple of spoonfuls. They might be better eaten dry, as a snack. -
And yet I missed it. Huh.
-
Oh! I forgot I got an asterisk! That makes me feel a little better about the 2/5.

Well, rats. I went to Great Britain instead of Italy, and came up with nothing. And it seems so easy in hindsight! Boo, hiss. I kept shouting at middle woman to pick up the pace, too. I'm glad our champ is returning. As for TS, I only got three -- Alaska, Acapulco, and finish. Did all those latitude places start with A? I feel like I wasn't paying as much attention tonight as I should have been.

2/5 this week.

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"

So do I! -
I say "son of a business man".

Instaget FJ for me tonight. Probably didn't hurt that I just finished a novel called "Miss Iceland", wherein the characters chatted a lot about some of the Icelandic sagas. Were there a lot of TS tonight? It seemed like it! I got a fair few, including Linzer torte, Frankenstein Friday (never heard of it, either, I just figured it out), bagel, tempo, covey, Les Paul, and Medfly. Assuming they would have accepted Medfly. If not, I could have been more specific. I just noticed tonight that the now-former champ was a leaner. It must not be as obvious when the contestants are spaced out as they are now.

I was particularly sad that the one guy said DeForest Kelley instead. I knew George as well as inflation and timeshare. But I completely blanked for FJ. And I even paid attention to the clue.

Just catching up with last night's show. I first said Superior for FJ, then re-read the clue, and immediately came up with Gitche Gumee in plenty of time to write it down. I don't think it was a poorly worded clue, but I did have to pay attention. For TS, I only got pavlova and pearl.

Commercials That Annoy, Irritate or Outright Enrage

i commented about this one somewhere upthread — neither emus nor ostriches bury their heads in the sand. But it’s a beach volleyball strategy Doug is explaining. -

That's even worse. No second date for him! 🙂 -

And it's a FIRST DATE. He should put in some damn effort. As for the girl, she was probably taught that when someone gives you a compliment, you should return the compliment, and that was the best she could do, since he couldn't be bothered to at least put on a shirt with a collar. -
Heh. I said "RO" as in "Republic Of". It didn't actually occur to me to think about the colonizers. But I did get the TS of Kansas, Mojave, food court sport, and iodine. And for the Colorado clue, I must have misread -- I thought they were going for the state instead of the college, so I said Colorado as well.

He's gorgeous. I had a Houdini-dog like that once. She'd go on walkabout while I was at work, and I'd find her on the front porch (only the backyard was fenced) when I got home. I continually patched holes in and under the fence, and had to be careful if there was a deep snow -- she figured out how to walk on top of the snow, and she'd go over the fence. I also ended up having to keep the doors locked at all times if I wanted her to stay inside the house.

I don't like "Hocus Pocus", and I really don't like that the ads for that movie continually misspell "amok".

4/5 this week.

I said, "Some golf guy" for FJ. I don't suppose that would have counted. And I completely bombed the TV category in the first round. But I did get Merlin, Supreme Court justice, hatch, deem, and Antwerp.

Not all nouns can or should be made into verbs. -
Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"
Browncoat replied to Betweenyouandme's topic in Everything Else
And just for funsies, I just now got a phone call (while I was perusing the Frasier board), and both my phone and watch rang. But I will check out the link you posted, @theredhead77, just in case it is something I can fix. Thanks for the link, but that's not really what I'm looking for. I don't want my computer to ring -- I just want my phone to ring when I'm using wifi on my laptop. And yes, the sound is turned on on all devices.
