  1. My thought process was exactly the same! I did think about changing to Little Mermaid, but stuck with Thumbelina in the end. I also got accompanied, four-in-hand, and abbreviated. Sorry to see Burt go. I liked him.
  2. I almost didn't recognize Tam! He really grew up. As did Missy. And I love her hair. I also loved her reassuring Sheldon, and his speech directed at her, especially since Mom, Dad, and Meemaw all were being smug thinking it would be directed at them.
  3. Did not get FJ tonight. I said compadres. Oh well. My excuse is that I was making hand turkeys. It was very soothing, just drawing and cutting out various shapes. Except the feet. Those were hard! Anyway, I did get Beatrix Potter, Troubadour, egalitarian, Apache, The Lighthouse, and Lapp.
  4. I want all of that as an actual Lego set!
  5. Oh well. Is it just me, or are there a lot of unlikeable teams this season? I'm ready for several of them to go, including the blonde sisters. I am glad the NFLers were safe, though. But I'm sad that we didn't get the promised second ep tonight.
  6. France and Spain were instagets, then I mentally went to Italy, nope. Germany, nope. Oh, Greece! And I was able to write it down in time, but only just. I also got Mackinac, Virginia (I'd have to move if I hadn't gotten that one), pep and peep, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, 6 Degrees of Separation, white-winged dove, coral, and tunic. I'm ready for a new champ.
  7. I finally watched -- I saved it until yesterday for a nice distraction, and it was indeed a nice distraction! I loved the deeper exploration of the Tusken Raiders -- and the callbacks to their always travelling single file. Nice that Mando is fluent in their language. I hope that treaty holds. Like most of you, I was always concerned when Mando left The Child randomly in the pannier on the bike! Also, flying through the desert like that, the kid really at least needed goggles to keep sand and dust and whatnot out of those giant eyes. And also like most of you, my first thought was Tremors, followed by Dune. And then when the vomiting started, Mr. Creosote from Monty Python's Meaning of Life. But I suppose instead of a wafer-thin mint, we had a not-quite-so-thin Bantha. I am not a fan of vomit jokes, though, so I could have done without the Krayt dragon vomit.
  8. I could have sat here all night and not come up with FJ. But I did get quite a few TS, including hang loose, Cyrus McCormick, Congo, Doonesbury, fingerprint, turnkey, and tenderfoot. Many years ago, I got a T-shirt in Hawaii that said "hang loose" on it, so that was an easy get for me, and Cyrus McCormick's farm is just a couple of hours up the road from me -- I pass it every time I go to the other end of the state. Sorry to see Carmela go. I liked her.
  9. My local affiliate has some random secondary channel where they're showing Jeopardy! at its usual time. My main hope is that they don't interrupt the game with election news. I've succeeded in avoiding all news today so far, and I hope to be able to do so the rest of the day. I know, I can't avoid it forever, but the constant updating is very stressful.
  10. I was shocked that the teacher missed The Miracle Worker! How did she not get that? I was distracted for a lot of the game, but that caught my attention! I also got the surprising TS of Korea (China? War in the 50s? Gotta be Korea. Also, thank you, MASH!), and the less-surprising TS of Nigel. FJ was an instaget for me. I absolutely loved the category titles in the first round.
  11. Oh good about the interviews and commentary -- I was worried they'd added a whole hour of commercials! I remember it being two hours -- I was a Freshman in college, and we had a huge watching party.
  12. Hm. Wasn’t it only two hours originally?
  13. I hope your arm heals well! Meanwhile, we can call you e.e. cummings, or perhaps archy from archy and mehitabel (Don Marquis).
  14. I'm making chili -- the high today was 48 degrees. Good chili weather, and I can freeze leftovers for later.
  15. Aw, man! That sucks! But he did have a good run. RIP, Mr. Connery.
  16. 3/5 thanks to the same magnanimous ruling by our judge.
  17. Affects. And add me to the list of those who said red menace, so I'm awaiting the ruling as well. I probably wouldn't have noticed Alex's orange tie if he hadn't called attention to it. TS that I got include hep, Buddhism, Discovery, dram & drum, and diamonds. I also said cavern and tavern, but am okay with cafe and cave. I don't count signature required as a TS because technically one of them got it, but just screwed up the phrasing.
  18. I heard Narrangansett, with an extra n in the middle both times.
  19. As soon as Alex got to "late Brit with multi-octave range", I wrote down the correct FJ. He was also one of the ones I pre-guessed, so good for me! Hey @saber5055, when did Des Moines leave Iowa and move to Idaho? I want to see one of those fluffy cows in person. Anyone know what breed it is? It's not a Highland Cow -- they're shaggier (and also adorable). Seems like there were lots of TS tonight. I got cure, Good Samaritan, Mammoth Caves, Graham Greene, Ireland, benighted (as a guess), Sangre de Cristo mountains, and Narragansett.
  20. I can see DJ having a full voice-mail box -- I hardly get calls, but I also don't think about deleting voice mails, and mine has gotten full before. That didn't bother me in the slightest. If Mary goes to the same school as Mark, then she's only going two days a week. That leaves her home alone the other three days, and depending on what the laws are where they live, and how old she is, that *might* be illegal. I think around here, a kid has to be more than 13 to be left home alone even just after school for a few hours, much less all day. I think DJ way over-reacted about that. Darlene and Becky weren't trying to take his daughter away from him -- they were just trying to help Mary, and really, help DJ for that matter. And they did try to call him before they did it. I loved the body parts coming down the conveyor belt. And I really loved the indoor trick-or-treating. Reminded me of, "Welcome to the Tunnel of Terror. Ha ha ha. Please, join us." from DJ in one of the early seasons -- was it the first? I also appreciated the conversation between Dan and Darlene at the end.
  21. Read the clue. Read. the. clue. READ. THE. CLUE. You'd think they all would have learned from last week's episode to read the damn clue, but nope. Were Will and James the only ones to figure it out? I am over Michelle and Victoria. They can go any time. But really, Frank and Jerry deserved to be eliminated for following them in the first place, though I am sorry to see them go. I am loving the tour of South America!
  22. I might have gotten FJ if I'd known what the Pritzker Prize was for, but alas, no such luck. But at least I was able to get Augusta, flounder, glucose, and Instant Pot.
  23. Did she really, though? She’s still got a long way to go, I think.
