S05.E02: Welcome to the Pit Stop How May I Help You
Browncoat replied to jewel21's topic in The Neighborhood
I could barely tell the difference between Grover's "bad" acting and his regular acting. Although he has gotten less bad since the beginning of the show. -
Perhaps, but it's easier for me just to lump them all together when I write down the ones I got and none of the contestants did.
-
I completely forgot about Celebrity Jeopardy.
-
I also said Vanity Fair for FJ. But I did get the TS of Norway, Mont Blanc, Blue Mountains, Gertrude, and sloop.
-
That's a pretty good match for the wood grain! I would have had to look really closely if you hadn't told me that there was a plug. And if the other one is just a small nail hole, I think it will be fine, too, on the finished product.
-
"It's a race! I am winning!" And I agree that it is underrated, and likely unfairly compared to It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World.
-
3/5 this week. If there were asterisks, I didn't get any of them.
-
Well, I started the week badly, but finished strong -- I concentrated on the "epic" part of the clue tonight, and the only epic I could think of was Beowulf. I was a little surprised to be correct. But the only TS I got were Paul Simon and the Massachusetts Bay Colony. I was very sad that Paul Simon was a TS. I apparently missed the explanation of the "A" country category -- I might have gotten Madagascar if I hadn't been trying to think of something that started with A.

Instaget FJ for me tonight, and thankfully, it knocked "Kokomo" out of my brain. I love the Muppets, especially the old school ones. The original Muppet Show was must-see TV, and I lost count of how many times I saw the original Muppet Movie. But I only got one TS -- hock. Mandela was right on the tip of my tongue, but I couldn't get it out before Ken told us.

I liked the Scramble, but I also hope it's not a thing for all the legs. I loved all the self-navigating and self-driving. As for the rest, well, I don't have a good idea of who is who just yet, so I don't have any real opinions about the racers. I did find the long-lost twin story interesting. I like Motivational Speaker's hair, but it's going to get in the way, I think. I mostly wish it weren't on at 10:00 at night. My perennial complaint -- how do they not put a family-friendly show like this one on earlier! It bums me out because I have to get up so early for work, so I can't play in the live chat thread.
-
Man, I knew last week was too good to be true. I did not get FJ tonight, either, although I knew the photo immediately when the correct response was revealed. And I only got two TS -- freckles, and O Pioneers! and My Antonia.
-
Archive game for me last night. I tend not to do as well with those, and I did not get FJ. Mind you, I probably wouldn't have gotten FJ had I actually watched the game, but I'll blame using the archive. And the only TS I got were basilisk (even without the picture), tower/tower, and lamb.
-
My pre-guess for Historic Documents was "Galaxy Quest". But when the clue was revealed, I was able to come up with the correct response. I also got the TS of "Restaurant At the End of The Universe", Denver, Hyde Park, St. Paul's Cathedral, katydid, and whooping crane.

1. almost any dark chocolate, as long as it is unadulterated by icky things like marshmallow, nuts, or fruit. Mint is fine, as are caramel and sea salt. Chuao Chocolatiers has a few kinds that I adore, but hard pass on marshmallow, nuts, or fruit. 2. Galaxy Minstrels -- the only milk chocolate I really enjoy. I'll eat other milk chocolate, but I don't usually seek it out like I do with Minstrels. 3. Sherbet Lemons, which I just discovered this past June. I had no idea they were a real thing. I thought they were some made up thing like Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans. 4. Starburst All Red jelly beans. 5. Reese's cups.

The dog's ears flapping sound like the helicopters landing during the opening of MASH. Cracked me up, too.
-
The boll weevil story this morning cracked me up. I particularly loved the Ronald McDonald weevil. ETA: Also cracking up at The Queen's Six singing "You'll Be Back" from Hamilton.

Who, What, When, Where?!: Miscellaneous Celebrity News 2.0

Maybe he can enlist Roman Polanski as co-director. Nah, neither would like the competition. -
I have sort of a homemade spreadsheet -- I write down the TS I get, my response for FJ (in the time allotted), and keep a running tally for the week (x/5 every day). Doing that also keeps me focused on the game. Sometimes I get distracted by something shiny. I don't know if that would be helpful for you, but it works for me! 🙂

FilmNight: Movies you watched recently

She was a HORRIBLE mother. I felt so bad for her own daughter when she took Cristina shopping. But I did love when Flor was berating Adam Sandler for paying Cristina for the sea glass. Cristina was awesome in that scene. -

And we can't forget the lightning sand in the fire swamp in "The Princess Bride". -
4/5 with an asterisk. Damn you, Disney!
-
Boo, hiss. I also said, "Can You Feel The Love Tonight". I realized too late that it was a year off, and couldn't think of anything else in time. Oh well. I was doing so well this week, too! And the only TS I got were Bernadette and Lorna Doone. On the other hand, there weren't many TS to get.
-
I didn’t know Carnegie Mellon had sports teams, either, which also contributes to why I thought my guess was wildly off-base.
-
OMG! I am gobsmacked that I correctly guessed FJ! It was a total wild guess, too -- just because I know Carnegie was Scottish (I've spent time in his hometown in Scotland), and also probably because Carnegie Mellon has been in the news recently. Still, shocked it was right. Give me an asterisk! But the only TS I got were X and mop. Also gobsmacked that X was a TS.
-
Instaget FJ for me tonight. No surprise that all three got it. I also got the TS of Rover, Rin Tin Tin, George and Lenny, and Victoria Falls. I was a little surprised no one knew George and Lenny.
