I had no clue for FJ. I have heard of Magritte, and I love his works, but I didn't know that one. But I did get the TS of scull, Madison, Nashville, and beehive. Do you think they would have accepted "people mover" instead of moving sidewalk for the Norfolk, VA airport clue? (In Norfolk, VA, it's pronounced something like "Naw-fuck").

Finally got to watch this ep (stupid 10:00 pm air time!). The main thing I have to say is thank goodness they didn't bring back the most recently eliminated team! I much prefer having one "non-elimination" leg than bringing back Linton and Sharik. Well, Sharik, anyway. Linton can come back.

Pink foam insulation cut to size and shape, and a little paint are pretty cheap. Those could even be leftovers from, say, a construction project, like a house renovation. And two old belts can be repurposed for the straps. The Catcher in the Rye doesn’t have to cost a lot to make.

I lost it when Hetty said to Molly, "Let me ride you while you get sucked off!" Those were great! I like it, too, that the ghosts have ways of communicating with Jay even if he can't see them.

S06.E05: A Resident Advisor and the Word 'Sketchy'
Browncoat replied to Bort's topic in Young Sheldon
This isn't the first time Sheldon has spent the night in the dorm. What happened to all his gaming friends? -
I couldn't come up with FJ tonight, sadly. And I was doing so well this week! The only person I could think of was Gershwin, and I knew that was not correct. The only TS I got were Gulliver's Travels and Lake Louise. Rowan is a great player, but I think they'd be exhausting to be around for very long. I'm an extreme introvert, though. I can't handle that much exuberance.

They were all old ones (except the hands in the candy bowls). We saw Becky bringing the boxes from, um, somewhere — the basement, maybe?

I LOVED! all their costumes at the end. Literary and punny! I am glad, though, that they explained them all. I got Alice Cooper in Wonderland, but I don’t think I ever would have caught on to The Catcher in The Rye. And the blast from the past Halloween end tag was great. The Alfalfanator!

I saw Kevin Kline in “Present Laughter” on Broadway a few years ago, and I hoped he’d come out after and sign autographs. I wanted him to sign my program with just, “Asshole!” as Otto from “Wanda”. Sadly he avoided (evaded?) the crowds.

Instaget FJ for me tonight. I didn't even second-guess myself, I was so sure. I also got the TS of Yorick, smokes, erne, Where The Crawdads Sing, and A Fish Called Wanda. I am terribly sad that no one knew A Fish Called Wanda -- one of the funniest movies ever. I would like to thank all the crossword puzzles I've done for knowing erne (can also be spelled ern).

I saw this last night, and I'm still laughing about "Holly Poly Christmas". And the ride in the museum. That was hilarious! I did tear up a little when they panned by a picture of Leslie Jordan. Overall, I enjoyed it -- it really is a standard rom-com. Two people meet, fall for each other, have a conflict, then get back together at the end. I disagree that they didn't have a meet cute. Very classic seeing a stranger across a crowded room and feeling an instant connection. Aaron was wrong for telling Bobby not to be himself, and Bobby was wrong to dial it up to 11 in retaliation, but the insecurities each of them had was a great source for the conflict. The clinker for me was the presence of Debra Messing. I'm not a fan, although she was nominally tolerable here. She didn't seem quite as sanctimonious as she usually does.

That's how I guessed it, too. I was astonished that I was correct! The only TS I got were Brad Pitt and Chinese New Year. In the rhyme category, "Jacobite" came easily to me, but I didn't come up with "impolite" in time. Or at all.

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"
Browncoat replied to Betweenyouandme's topic in Everything Else
Blue jays will eat the hell out of black oil sunflower seeds. I had a jay on my feeder this afternoon just gorging itself! I primarily feed black oil sunflower seeds, although I started putting out dried mealworms in the winter for the mockingbirds. The jays eat those too. The mealworms, not the mockingbirds. And to keep this marginally on-topic -- today's peeve is starlings. They are pigs and eat all the things, leaving nothing for the native birds. -
It took me a second on FJ, but I actually got it tonight! Good for me! I also got the TS of osteoarthritis, Carpathia, unintelligible, topiary, and of course, Liz Truss, bless her heart. I admit that I laughed out loud at the Liz Truss clue.

The only way I know to feed the birds with minimal seed waste is to feed sunflower chips -- no hulls, and no wasted filler material. But that won't stop birds perching on his deck railing. Hummingbird feeders are fairly no-mess, too, but, depending on where you live, hummingbirds might be gone by now. -
In Memoriam: Entertainment Industry Celebrity Deaths

Noooo! Not Beverley Leslie! (He was also hilarious as Terry on "Reba".) -
I feel like this group came to play. They're mostly doing well! I love John Michael Higgins, especially in Christopher Guest movies. Aisha seems to hate her buzzer. ETA: How was "Nevermore" a Daily Double in the third round? That seems far too easy, even for Celebrity Jeopardy. ETA again: That was a great game! They had fun, but were still here to play the game instead of dick around like so many of the last group.

This is why spellcheck is not your friend, People Magazine. -
I saw it this afternoon, and I thought it was delightful fluff. I laughed out loud a lot! Not only during the movie itself, but also during the bloopers they showed with the beginning of the credits. I only had a couple of minor nitpicks -- one was when Julia Roberts' boyfriend got bitten by the snake, and she sucked the wound. Don't do that. That is not actually helpful, and could be more harmful. The other was that they kept implying that Lily was going to begin working at a law firm as a lawyer in the fall, but also implying that she had only completed four years of college. They never said anything about the extra three years for law school. Otherwise, I enjoyed it! And the scenery was absolutely gorgeous. I'd see it again just for that.

I've read the book, I liked the book, but I never would have come up with the book or the character for that FJ. It just wasn't on my radar, I guess. Maybe I could use some of that extra credit from last night's game? But at least I got some TS -- Van Dyke, Hershey, bayou, Jennifer Grey, and possum. I felt bad for James tonight! Such a spectacular flame-out after being so on fire yesterday. Not sad that Jessica won, though.

I loved Flower reaching the barrier while she was protesting around the tree.

Same here! Mongolia was an instaget, followed fairly quickly by Kazakhstan. It took me a second to remember N. Korea, but I got it before time ran out. The only missed clue I got was Paradise Lost.
