"Dur" distracted me so much that all I could think of was Durham, which obviously was not anywhere near what they were going for. My brain couldn't make the leap to "Zur". Oh well. Ditto. The only TS I got was keytar.

Another one of those, "I could sit here for the rest of the night and never get FJ" FJ clues. I had absolutely no idea. The only TS I got were Lethal Weapon and hurly-burly. Once upon a time, I knew all the witches' lines from MacBeth. Congrats to John!

Perhaps she would have lost a tie-breaker, but it would have given her one more chance to win. She was pretty fast on the buzzer during the game.

Brian and Tyler made exactly the right bets for FJ. Margaret should have bet it all. Count me among those who thought the FJ clue was asking for a commonly used phrase. Like @Katy M, I also thought about "Indian giver", but knew that couldn't possibly be right. So I missed FJ. Again. As usual. But I did get the TS of Venice, house mouse, Whitehall, and squeal & equals. "Bless their hearts!" Hee!

Awww, that makes me sad. I wonder if they might have caught up had they not wrecked the car.

Derek and Claire made those games look easy. I still would have done the nuts.

Me, too. I'm pretty sure I'd be able to figure out what a walnut grove is, too.

I hope they find the challenge. Hooray, they found it! ETA: Holy moly -- how did the guys leap ahead of everyone else?

I really want to root for Glenda and Lumumba, but they are making it really difficult!

It really is!

Bad game for me, too. I had nothing for FJ. The only poet I could think of was Robert Frost, and I knew that was so very wrong. Oh well. The only TS I got were cantons and Cam.

FilmNight: Movies you watched recently

"Smell bad!" -
Instaget FJ for me, too. Seemed awfully easy for a TOC! And I got the TS of Samoyed, Wild Bill Hickok (as a guess), Gorbachev, cinquefoil, and photosphere (also a guess). Man, what happened to Ryan? I was rooting for him, too.

That one doesn't bother me, as I eat sitting on my sofa in front of the TV all the time.

As long as nobody minds if I scrape the yummy filling off the nasty graham cracker crap underneath. (I make key lime pie with chocolate cookie crust.)

Say What?: Commercials That Made Us Scratch Our Heads
Browncoat replied to Lola16's topic in Commercials
They do show one person using a toaster oven and another using a frying pan to reheat their pizza. And one guy says, "Who reheats pizza?" So they don't completely ignore it. Interestingly, no one is shown using a microwave -- thank goodness. That's the worst way! It ruins the crust. -
I might actually be able to watch in real time!

Say What?: Commercials That Made Us Scratch Our Heads
Browncoat replied to Lola16's topic in Commercials
Who doesn't? I usually get a large and have leftovers instead of the two mediums like the commercial is pushing, though. -

There is also the rapid PCR test, which gives results in a couple of hours. It only requires a special machine, not an entire lab, and is used on cruise ships. Even in the lab, with the more conventional PCR tests, they don't grow cultures of the virus -- the RNA is extracted from the virus and amplified (that's the PCR process) until it can be detected. The equipment used for PCR is pretty portable, too. Even some of the larger ones only weigh 20-30 pounds and don't take up much space. I can hold the smaller ones in the palm of my hand.

Better than last week -- 3/5 this week.
