  1. Everybody does NOT love Raymond.
  2. It depends. If I'm where I can get them easily (like on vacation in Scotland in June), I'll crunch them, and buy lots more to bring home. But now that I'm back in the US, I savor them, since I don't know when I'll be able to get more. I brought home a LOT, too, but they're almost gone. 😢
  3. In no particular order (although chocolate will always be number one!): 1. Chocolate -- preferably dark, although I'll make an exception for Galaxy Minstrels 2. Pulled pork barbecue sandwich from Pierce's Pitt in Williamsburg, VA 3. Roast beef sandwich from the Cheese Shop in Williamsburg, VA 4. my mother's baked macaroni and cheese 5. my grandmother's chocolate fudge 6. shrimp -- almost any preparation 7. lobster, especially if I'm in Maine 8. my mother's fried chicken 9. salmon -- fresh, canned, or smoked! 10. I'll echo @Leeds with the Walker's crisps, though they don't have to be salt and vinegar
  4. I remember those -- they were tasty, and just right. I think they've been replaced by all the things you make in a mug in the microwave.
  5. Hard pass on crusts made with nuts! I'll stick with chocolate or shortbread. 😉
  6. So much better than that nasty graham cracker crust.
  7. I saw this last night and I thought it was a hoot. Kind of a cross between Quentin Tarantino and Agatha Christie. I agree that everyone seemed to be having a tremendous amount of fun. There were odd times when the Prince just disappeared, but she always seemed to show up just as I wondered where she was -- I didn't miss her too much when she wasn't there. I did love that Lemon ran her down with a tangerine truck at the end. Lemon and Tangerine were the best. I had to ignore that Ladybug and the Wolf had the entire lounge to themselves for so long for their fight, but did laugh at the trolley woman's interruption of the fight between Ladybug and Tangerine. That reminded me a little of "The Man Who Would Be King" (I think?). Agreed, too, that Channing Tatum's cameo was awesome. "Is this about sex?" One minor quibble -- boomslang venom doesn't actually "congeal" your blood. It prevents clotting, making your blood runnier -- the opposite of congealing. And that snake didn't really look like a boomslang, but that's an even more minor quibble.
  8. I was just in Edinburgh this past June, along with several other places in Scotland, and I enjoyed everything I ate. I had the most fabulous cheese toastie in some random pub (in Ft. William, I think), Indian food on Orkney, and Nepalese food in Edinburgh. But mostly I had seafood, of course -- the plate of mussels on Skye was to die for. So delicious! I did have some prepared sandwiches from Sainsbury's, and I noticed that the bread is buttered before the filling is added. A tuna mayonnaise with buttered bread is unusual to me, but nice.
  9. But what if the will doesn't go to probate? What determines Executor fees (if any) then?
  10. My mother has died, and my father has dementia. I am both Executor of the will and Power of Attorney for my father. And I am trying to help with caregiving, which is challenging as he lives almost three hours away. To say I am struggling is an understatement. My mother's will was quite simple -- everything went to my father, and almost everything was jointly owned. Only a credit card and a cell phone were in my mother's name only. So at least we shouldn't have to probate the will. But I have to fill out all the paperwork for my father as he is not really capable of doing all that. I am trying to determine if I am entitled to an Executor's fee, and if so, whether or not I will take it. There are no easy answers.
  11. Looks like you bruised the hell out of your toes!
  12. There was a squirrel in my yard the other day carrying an apple bigger than its head. I have no idea how it managed it, but the squirrel carried the apple up another tree.
  13. I believe @lasu was talking about the trip Kya was on when Chase died. In the book, it was Asheville, but in the movie it was the much more sensible Greenville.
  14. I have a crossbody bag with metal strips sewn into the strap, and I keep it in front of me. I don't take it off, and I dare anyone to try to cut it off. I do carry cash, but that is mostly for small purchases. I use a grocery store gift card for my grocery budget -- I load a new one every month since the store made theirs so they can't be reloaded. And I never ever leave a purse or wallet in a grocery cart. I have known too many people who've lost purses or wallets that way. If I'm traveling, I have a slightly larger crossbody day bag, but I still keep it in front of me. Peeve of the day: houseflies. One followed me in this afternoon, and it keeps buzzing around my head. I haven't seen it land anywhere, but I have my flyswatter at the ready if it ever does!
  15. There isn't really anything I can walk to around here. The closest Kroger is about a mile, so about 20 minutes to get there, but it's down a very long, steep hill. It would probably take me an hour to get back home coming up that very long, steep hill. With no sidewalks.
  16. It's at least a three-hour drive for me to get to Costco, Whole Foods, Wegmans or Trader Joe's. We have Kroger, Food Lion, Aldi, Earth Fare, and Fresh Market, although Fresh Market is about 45 minutes from my house.
  17. I don’t have a Wegman’s near me, either. Or a Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s for that matter.
  18. I saw this today, and I really liked it a lot. The story was sweet and genuine (and I love that they were able to get Lesley Stahl and the 60 Minutes people involved!), and the animation was top-notch. Marcel’s community in the end had some interesting members — it took me a second to realize that one of them was a tampon.
  19. I do love the long days of summer, and I dread the winter darkness. I would happily live farther north except for the dark of winter.
