One of the car dealerships I looked at when I bought my most recent car a couple of years ago didn't take me seriously. I mean, I walked in, told them exactly what I wanted, asked if they could get it for me, and their reply was, "Oh, gee, I don't know. That color's pretty rare." I said, "Wrong answer!" and walked out. I had another dealer who was farther away, but who also said, "Absolutely! Just give me two weeks." I went back later, with my new car, and explained to the sales manager why I did not purchase my car from them. The fun part was that this was not the first time they apparently didn't want to sell me a car. So, yes, that sexist bullshit is still going on.

You definitely need a Santa hat. Also, those bowls are beautiful.

2/5 this week.

Instaget FJ because of the classical music part. If they'd just said "City of Dreams" I never would have gotten it. The only TS I had was guppy.
-
Instaget FJ for me tonight, even though I am not one. These people made me cry, too, not knowing Gene Kelly and Crosby, Stills, and Nash! I got those TS of course, along with shouldn't've, and 'Tis. I can watch Gene Kelly in "An American In Paris" all day, especially the dream sequence when he's in those tight white pants. *Ahem.* I laughed out loud at the Kit Carson shout-out! And I am also sad that Jeri did not represent my alma mater very well. I'll have to look for her the next time I go to Homecoming.

Cold cocoa is chocolate milk. 😁 -
I thought I heard him say he couldn't swim at the first water task, in the cave. Maybe I misheard him.

I feel so bad for David. I mean, I'm glad for Emily and Molly, but I really feel for David. Panic attacks are no joke, especially in the water. -

This is so cool. I would struggle with it because I can't wear contacts and I'm pretty blind without my glasses, but it's still cool. 66North is a great brand. VERY spendy, but really good quality. -

I'm all for self-navigation, and I believe there has been too much bunching in some previous seasons, but at the same time, I kind of like some bunching. To be fair, Icelandic water is amazing. -

Yes they have. I don't remember where it was, though. I feel like it was in a warmer place. -

All I can think about is how cold that water is. -

Height-wise, I think I'd be better on the ice climb than the tightrope walking last week. Strength-wise, I'd probably still be trying to climb that ice wall. I have spaghetti arms! -

Iceland! So much fun. -
I saw this again last night, and it is even better the second time. Still just devastating, but I really felt sorry for Padraic. In the end, he pretty much had no one except his cattle and his horse. I feel like the whole island took Colm's side from the beginning. Well, except Dominic, but even he turned against Padraic when P stopped being nice. I don't know why I didn't have more sympathy for Colm, except that he still seemed to have lots of friends. And I think it's just awesome that Brendan Gleeson not only plays the fiddle, but he wrote that tune himself.

I hate Kai. Also, just turn over the couch cushion to hide the stain. Plus, don't buy a white couch.

I also said Mexico for FJ, even though I was pretty sure it was wrong. Then I started wondering what they meant by "our" hemisphere. Northern? Western? And I got seriously confused, so I gave up. And the only TS I got was John Hancock, a guess based solely on the size of the text in the clue.

Catching up from Tuesday, when I went to see "The Banshees of Inisherin" instead. I did not get FJ -- I thought Brown was too obvious and didn't say it, despite not having anything else. But I did get the TS of oak, Shaw, chocolate, and Yosemite.

I had no idea for FJ tonight. And the only TS I got was Henry Fonda. We are not off to a great start this week!

I am facing the same issue with mail for my mother. I've found that either writing "Deceased, Return to Sender" on the outer envelope, or opening it and using their postage-paid envelope and payment coupon (again, writing "Deceased" on it) and sending it back has stopped the vast majority of the begging letters. One of them actually sent us a condolence card! -
I have to agree about Strange World. It was pretty, and colorful, and I did like that a lot of things were just matter of fact (Grandpa didn't freak out when Grandson talked about the boy he liked), but other than that, the biologist in me just couldn't wrap my head around things.

I don't recall the timing of Krista's suicide and the posting of the video -- do those line up? I think that's why I suspected Francesca. She was definitely there in the class, and absolutely disappointed (gutted? betrayed?) when Lydia chose someone else (especially that she chose a man) to replace Sebastian (the assistant conductor). It made an outstanding revenge video.

Not an enjoyable movie to watch, but damn, it was good. It probably could have used a bit of editing to reduce the run time, but at the same time, it was good to have all the lead-up and backstory of just how remarkable Lydia was and all the hints and tidbits of what a terrible person she was as well. It's so clear that she was a predator -- attempting to groom Olga just as she did Francesca and Krista. But I loved that the movie never actually came out and said it. We, the audience, actually had to think about things and come to our own conclusions. Some of the people I saw it with actually asked me what the ending was all about (they didn't quite get that she was fired). Cate Blanchett deserves all of the awards. She truly inhabited Lydia/Linda and was mesmerizing to watch. In the class at Juilliard, before we really knew that she was a shit person, I was telling her in my head not to pick on the guy so much. Her defense of the video that it shouldn't have been posted because that was a "non-tech zone" is so typical of people who've been caught. I suspect Francesca. It might have been a little more meaningful if I knew more about classical music and how orchestras work, but the power dynamic is translatable to other workplaces, I think. The one thing I didn't understand, but would like to, is the meaning of the notation the musician wrote on the score after Lydia was hauled out of the performance. I'm not exactly sure what he wrote or what it meant, other than the performance was stopped.
