Instaget FJ for me tonight. Was Tonya just playing for second place? Odd wager. I also got the TS of Episcopal, tropical, Alaska, business, and scissor. Jesse's vocal fry was killing me. He didn't do it all the time, though.

Well, I took one for the team, and went to see this today. It was cute and funny, a mostly fluffy bit of entertainment despite the presence of Tom Brady, Guy Fieri, and Gronk. Billy Porter was a gem, and our ladies were fabulous, of course. I think it helps that it was inspired by a true story. I would also say that it's more about the women and their adventures at the Super Bowl than about Brady, although his presence looms large. The theater was packed! I don't think there was a single empty seat. And, honest to God, I saw several women wearing Tom Brady Patriots jerseys. Bottom line, I'm not mad I saw it, I don't want my time back, but I don't know that I'll watch it again when it eventually comes to TV.

Commercials That Annoy, Irritate or Outright Enrage
Browncoat replied to Maverick's topic in Commercials
Or maybe not a bulldog! I so clearly remembered that dog truck driver as a bulldog. Huh. -
I loved that Abby had on a cat shirt at the end. Nice callback to the earlier conversation about all the women named Carol.

Commercials That Annoy, Irritate or Outright Enrage

But I do love the Subaru one with the Golden puppy gesturing for the Bulldog truck driver to honk. -
5/5 this week! Give me all the asterisks! (I think there were two?)

Instaget FJ for me tonight. I'm gobsmacked that Matthew missed it! But I'm also glad he won. I'm going to amend my earlier statement that he reminds me of John Cleese -- he specifically reminds me of John Cleese in Silverado. I also got the TS of Afghanistan (also gobsmacked that that was a TS), and Working Girl.

S06.E11: Ruthless, Toothless, and a Week of Bed Rest
Browncoat replied to Bort's topic in Young Sheldon
"Depends." That line had me laughing as much as Mandy and Meemaw, and was the best line of the night. Otherwise, I was mostly bored, especially by the database storyline. Inconceivable! -
Instaguess FJ for me tonight. Mythology is not my strong suit, but I focused on "ewe" and ran with it. The only TS I got were Encanto and keno. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Matthew is not originally from Oregon... He puts me in mind of John Cleese, which is not a bad thing.

My town provides our trash cans, and they are bar coded to the address, so you're not meant to take them with you if you move. They're the hinged kind, and we have the trucks with the arms that pick them up. The cost of pickup is included in our water bills. And there are instructions printed on the can to put it out with the hinge facing away from the street. When I was very young (8 or so), a bunch of us would follow the garbage trucks on our bikes, so we could watch when the back section got full and the compressor piece came out and mashed it all into the main section. And yes, those trucks had two guys hanging off the back while another one drove. They switched out roles from time to time. Ah, growing up in a small town, where there's nothing better to do on a summer Monday morning than follow the garbage truck on your bike.

I did have to think about FJ for a second, but I managed to come up with it in plenty of time to write it down. As for TS, I got Emerald City, jet engine, breakout, and Iceland. Hooray for Patti!

I astonished myself by getting FJ right tonight. I did count letters, but I honestly couldn't remember if those two states shared a border. I thought about Kansas, but none of its neighbors has six letters, so I stuck with Oregon and Nevada. Hand me another asterisk, please! TS I got include dive, expect, blue baby, top hat, and Unforgiven. I liked Soren and was rooting for him. Alas.

I saw this today, and I agree with @Haleth. It was delightful, and I thought pretty faithful to the original material. Updated a bit, of course, but nicely done.

I don’t like the chest-thumping, fist-pumping, or podium-leaning. He reminds me of frat bros in a drinking contest.

I managed to get FJ in the nick of time tonight. Hand me that asterisk! I also got the TS of the Queen, ran away, Manitoba, toadstool, spores, and Nosferatu. I saw Nosferatu at midnight in an outdoor amphitheater during Freshman year in college, and it scared the crap out of me. All the night sounds didn't help, either. And then I had to walk back to the dorm in the dark. It took me a while to get to sleep that night!

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"

I hate trying to do crosswords online. I don't go through the clues the way the online programs would prefer I do. -
I want to see it, too, despite Brady and Gronk. I suspect I'd watch the four leads take turns reading a phone book.

It is annoying. My preferred local news station has news from 4-7 Monday through Friday, but it's nearly always pre-empted by some sporting event or other on the weekend. They do run news for a couple of hours in the mornings on Saturday and Sunday, but sometimes I'd like an evening update, too. -
4/5 this week. Stupid movies (and I even saw the one from today's FJ!).

I had no idea for FJ tonight, ruining the streak I was on this week. Boo, hiss. And I only got two TS -- Firth of Forth and abject/object. Also boo, hiss that we have a new champ. I really wanted anyone except Jake to win. (One of these days, I'll remember where the new edit feature is and stop quoting myself when I try to edit!)

That one, I figured out, but the one about the ballroom confused me. Wow! Hooray for Patton! I am gobsmacked that two of them missed FJ. That seemed particularly easy, even for Celebrity Jeopardy. But now I don't know whether to root for Patton or Wil in the next round. I missed what Michael did (if anything) also.
