  1. I giggled at Anna-Kat calling herself and Franklin "Franna-Kat" and Franklin saying something along the lines of, "You've been sitting on that the whole time while I've been saying Anna-Kranklin like an idiot?" Katie mentioned Angela in passing last night. She clarified that Doris is in Hawaii but in their world, where is Angela?
  2. I may have missed it but did they say where Angela went?
  3. I laughed way too hard at the "Now I know that her biggest regret in life is that she accidentally clapped when the Challenger exploded" line. Also when Arpi asked Jayden who he'd want to have a dinner party with and he said, "Batman and Batman's parents. Just because I feel like Batman would really appreciate that."
  4. Oh my god, I *adored* that show!! It was such a shame it only got a couple of seasons because it was hilarious. I'm not 100% certain Call Your Mother will follow the same path (mostly because I don't really see the potential in this show that I saw in the other) but I'm willing to give it a chance to prove me wrong.
  5. I'm 100% neutral on this show. I don't hate it, I don't like it, it's almost like background noise to me. I'll keep watching because I have a little bit of OCD when it comes to TV shows (I'm compelled to finish them unlessl it becomes supremely unbearable to watch) but if it gets cancelled, I'll forget about it two minutes after I watch the last show. 🤷‍♀️
  6. That. . . wasn't great. I love Kyra Sedgwick though so I'm willing to give it some time to find itself. I liked the dog!
  7. This made me burst out laughing. I'm pretty sure Matt would probably enjoy some repetitive arm motions. 😂
  8. It really bothers me that production continues to promote this notion that if you just try hard enough, the woman will change her mind. If she says she's not interested, whether she's the Bachelorette or one of the contestants on the Bachelor, then accept it. Don't try and pretend that it's romantic for him to completely disregard her feelings and shove his way back into her life. I would think that they would have learned their lesson after one of their Bachelors was served with a restraining order.
  9. It cracked me up that Cooper's already planning to buy his way in to whatever school Oliver gets into. The Cooper Bradford Biblioteca, indeed. 😂
  10. It took me a few days to realize she wasn't there, too. Did anyone on the show mention where she went or are they just pretending she was never there in the first place? I missed it if they had a throwaway line about her absence.
  11. I wasn't a fan of Tayshia storming in, laying into the guys without giving them any specifics, and then waltzing back out again. One of these men is supposed to be your future partner. Speak to them like an adult, don't chastise them like they're little children. I didn't like it when Clare did it and I don't like it now. Also don't like that she sent my precious Joe home and kept Ed.
  12. I think what bothers me the most about the comparisons to Bobby Bones is Nelly doesn't seem to have an inflated sense of his dancing ability. He doesn't disrespect his partner by making up dance moves or messing with her choreography. He's not out there acting like he's better than his competitors or riling up his fan base or complaining about the judges and their scores. He's trying his best and showing some improvement and just all around being nice. Do I think he should win based on improvement or niceness? No, of course not. But likening him to Bobby Bones is unfair. If anything, I see more similarity with Bill Engvall's arc: okay dancer but nice guy who went further than he should have. Pardon my language, but Bobby Bones was a douche who's shitty personality came nowhere close to making up for his mediocre dancing ability. I can understand why Bill and Nelly got to where they were/are in the competition. I'll never understand how Bobby managed to win. (I mean, I understand it, I get how phone and internet voting work. I just don't understand, if you know what I mean.) I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Justina pulls off a win. She's my favorite. Kaitlyn has zero personality or life on the dance floor and Nev just kind of bothers me. His enthusiasm seems a bit disingenuous to me although I can't put my finger on why that is. I enjoy watching Justina dance and I can't say that about the other two. Hell, I enjoy watching Nelly dance more than I do Kaitlyn or Nev.
  13. He can wear whatever he wants. I just hate the way it looks, much like I hate the way those cropped suit pants the guys are wearing look. And boy band manager Kenny's deeply unbuttoned shirt. And those wretched white sneakers someone wore with their suit that one night. Not my thing. I doubt he put that much thought into it. I think he saw how rough the other guys were in the ring, realized he'd been antagonizing this doof for the last few days, and didn't want to risk getting his ass beat in front of the girl he's trying to woo. I mean, Ed's a big dude. He could've come out on top. Unless they really are show muscles indeed. 😊
  14. OH MY GOD THAT'S EXACTLY RIGHT!!! 😂😂😂
  15. Mr. Lily asked about the "stupid neckline" on his sweater and I told him that was a scoop neck. He told me he wasn't familiar with the term and I replied back that it's usually because you see them on women. I don't know but I adore him. He's fantastic and I wish she'd pay more attention to him. It's pretty rich of the guys to be pissed at Noah when the opportunity to jump in was offered to all the guys and none of them took it. Your mistake, fellas, don't make it again. I don't believe for a second that that's his nickname. If it was, he wouldn't have started with saying he's Superman and then backtracked to Wolverine. You don't forget a nickname that's regularly used. More likely he wishes he was Wolverine, which. . . sorry, dude. Nope. I'll give this to Tayshia. Once she saw how brutal it was getting, she did seem to be a little uncomfortable with it. At one point I heard her say quietly something along the lines of, "Someone might get hurt." And she was smiling but there was a distinct look of tension in her eyes. I don't think she realized just how violent it was likely to get. I wonder if she thought it was going to be more like Arie's ladies wrestling date (which, to be clear, I didn't care for either) where it was more show than actual wrestling. Seriously. He had plenty of time to withdraw if he was actually concerned about exacerbating an injury. He was worried he might get put down by someone he's been ragging on so he chickened out. Mr. Lily and I chatter throughout most of the show (it usually takes us much longer than the two hours of airtime because we're constantly pausing and laughing/raging/shouting at whatever's happening on screen) but when Ashley sneezed, the two of us just froze and stared at the TV with open-mouthed horror. She didn't even TRY to cover her mouth or sneeze into her elbow. Jared shouted at her to cover her mouth and she still didn't do it. We couldn't believe it.
  16. I was, too. All I kept thinking was, "Put the brick down, Calvin." And I breathed a sigh of relief when he finally did.
  17. I did!! I looked at my husband and said, "WOW! I wish I had back muscles like Jenna's."
  18. Poor Skai just looked terrified from beginning to end during her dance. I'm sure she was scared she'd make another mistake but that wide-eyed look of abject terror made me sad watching her performance. I hope that since she got through last night without any major flubs that she relaxes a little more next week because I think she has a lot of potential. I know logically that Kaitlyn did a good job with her dance but as soon as I heard the opening notes, I thought of nothing else but Simone Biles and Sasha's contemporary to the same song. I *loved* that dance. I know Sasha had much more freedom with the choreography since it was a contemporary and not a rumba like Kaitlyn's so it's not really fair of me to compare but I was still left feeling pretty neutral at the end. I really enjoyed Nev's pirate dance. His drunken Captain Jack Sparrow mannerisms were so on point, it made the dance fun for me. He blended it so seamlessly with the dance, too. I was impressed. I was a bit deflated by Justina's dance, it just seemed a little more low-energy than I was expecting. I don't know if she wasn't comfortable with the dance style or the choreography wasn't good or what, but it was just so subdued. Then again, maybe I was subconsciously comparing her dance to Charlie White's to the same song, which again isn't really fair since they had jazz and as with Sasha and Simone, more freedom with the choreography. I love Justina though, she and Jeannie are my favorites, so I hope she finds the fun again next week. Speaking of Jeannie, her Viennese waltz was so pretty. I loved it and think it may have been my favorite dance of the night. I'm still pretty neutral with Johnny. It looks like he keeps wanting to skate instead of dance and it makes his footwork look shaky and choppy to me, like he wants to glide and is surprised the floor is stopping him. He did show some improvement last night but I thought his scores were a smidgen too high. I wouldn't have given him 8s for that. I wish with all my heart that Tyra would stop with the catwalk at the beginning of every episode. She spends the rest of the time being relatively inoffensive and dare I say unobtrusive (similar to Erin Andrews actually in my eyes) but that model strut entrance really gets my goat. If we're going to be stuck with her, I just want her to do her damn job and host the show, not pretend she's the star of it. I miss Tom so much.
  19. Thank you for the reminder on this. I thought I remembered something about sex in the ocean but when it didn't come up, I figured it happened on someone else's season that I didn't watch. Makes sense that they'd leave all that out though, what with Clare being the new Bachelorette. I still don't really hold with it justifying her anger though. She was ready to marry him despite him saying that. Or wait, did he say that to her earlier, or did he say that right then as the reason why he wasn't proposing?
  20. So I never watched his season but I remember seeing things back then about how terrible he was so I was looking forward to this recap to see what all the fuss was about. And my husband and I just couldn't see it. Neither of us understood all the vitriol based on what they showed in this episode. I kept telling him throughout the show, "Well, let's just wait, they must show us why everyone hated him so much." And there was just. . . nothing there. He did come across a bit cold at points but I mean, honestly I thought Arie was worse than what I saw here. Mr. Lily and I said the same thing. If it offended her that much, why did she stay? It's not like his response was so smooth and charming when she confronted him about it for her to just let it go that easily. I cracked up, too, when JP said that after she walked away. 😂 All of this!!! With the way they were promoting the hell out of Clare and her big moment, when it finally came we were like, "Huh?" She would've accepted his proposal in a second had he done it so to try and sell that she did something special by getting pissed off that he *didn't* was a bit disingenuous on the show's part. That narrative just doesn't work for me. I don't mind that she did it, by the way. I've always wanted to see someone let the Bachelor/ette have it when they "lose", but I certainly don't think it was like a giant step forward for women or something. That was a bad look on CH, that's for sure. He clearly didn't like that Juan Pablo wasn't playing the game, it was written all over his face.
  21. I actually really liked this show so I'm sad they're not giving it another season. Especially since they renewed Nancy Drew and that show sucked. 😒
  22. I'm sad about this cancellation, too. I really liked this show. Boo, ABC. Boo to you. 😒
  23. It is definitely a thing and has been done for a long time. I did it at my wedding 13 years ago. However, we didn't do it the way they did it with Angelina where everyone got to witness the first look. It was just me, my husband, the two photographers, and the videographer. And it was a lovely private moment (I mean, as private as it could be considering it was being documented) between the two of us.
  24. I'm sorry if this has been addressed somewhere already but I'm having trouble remembering the details in this season. Did they ever resolve Beth's "pregnancy"? Is she still supposed to be pregnant? Did Rio figure out she isn't? How much time has actually supposed to have passed since the beginning of the season?
