  1. I'd like this as well. In fact, I'd like it if whoever they cast isn't currently in the public eye at all. No current politicians/politician adjacents, no Bachelor/ettes that just came off their season, no TV/movie stars that are on a currently airing TV show/movie, no radio DJs that have a show currently on the air, no athletes that just won a series/medal/trophy. Wait till they're at least a year or two out of whatever made them "famous" in the first place. I feel like in this particular situation, distance makes the heart grow *less* fond and maybe we'd have a chance of having less rabid voting blocs sitting out there waiting to ruin it for the rest of us.
  2. Really Carrie Ann? You honor the viewer votes? You mean the way you kept saving Ally, who couldn't get the viewer votes to stay out of the bottom 2 even when she had the top score? Per the article: "The Talk moderator pointed out that 'a lot of people were shocked tonight in the ballroom,' something that she had never witnessed before on the ABC competition. 'I’ve never felt that from the ballroom when a winner was announced like tonight,' she said." Never, Carrie Ann? Never? So you're saying that when Bobby Bones won, that reaction was normal? The muted applause? The dropped jaws of not just the audience and the competitors but of you, the judges? Come on. Seems to me this subtle attempt to piss on Hannah's win might lend a little bit of credence to the speculation that at least this judge in particular really didn't want her to win.
  3. Ah, I see what you're saying. Yes you're right, we are discussing different things. And yes, I agree that support from BN was key, especially in overcoming what some people saw as a terrible attitude. Sorry if I seemed argumentative! 😊
  4. I don't disagree with any of this. First, yeah, that's why I said one other person has won. Second, there have been 8 people from the franchise on the show, three women and five men. So yes, a quarter of the franchise has won but I think we can agree that the correct quarter won. And third, like I said before I'm not saying Bachelor Nation didn't help push the rest of the dancers far but what I am saying is that I don't believe that they forced either Melissa's or Hannah's win. And thus far they haven't forced a truly unjustified win. If the BN voting bloc was as powerful as people seem to think they are, then we would have had a Bobby Bones situation loooong before Bobby Bones.
  5. I guess that's what makes this show so interesting and so maddening all at the same time. It really is all so very subjective. 😊 Just to be clear, I wouldn't call myself a "fan" of Hannah's, I just cast my votes based on what I saw week by week. Wouldn't want to get myself a reputation. 😉
  6. Also, say what you will about the Bachelor Nation fanbase but only one other person from the franchise has actually won. So I think it's worth considering that while Bachelor Nation may have gotten some of these people far (even farther than they probably should have), it's the non-BN fans of DWTS that put Hannah over the top by voting on her based on what they saw on the show and not based on her Bachelor franchise history. Heck, you may have even gotten a few people like me who voted for her in spite of her Bachelor franchise history. Because durned if I didn't cuss under my breath when I saw her show up in the promo for the new season. 😊
  7. I don't think Hannah acted like a bitch or a whore at all. I don't even think she was any more melodramatic than, say, Ally, who was in tears almost every single episode even though she was consistently favored by the judges throughout the entire season, despite having messy dances. What I saw was Hannah doing a complete repeat dance (unlike Ally, who spent 20 seconds of her time singing. . . again. . . and still got a perfect score) and nailing her lifts (again, unlike Ally, who utterly flubbed one and still got a perfect score). She also had an interestingly choreographed and well-performed freestyle, unlike Lauren who was given a terrible country line dance for a freestyle that she couldn't even manage to perform with any sort of conviction or passion. . . and still got a perfect score. I don't necessarily agree that Hannah was getting a lot of hate from the judges, but she certainly wasn't getting much love from them, especially considering she was at the very least equal to Kel (and in my opinion exceeding him) in dancing ability. I said it earlier and I'll say it again. I would've been delighted with a Kel win, especially after his absolutely fantastic freestyle. Freestyles have historically won or lost a contestant the MBT in the past so it wouldn't have surprised me at all if Kel had pulled it out. But if you're looking for overall performance and ability throughout the season as the judges bullshittingly clamed they were doing last week when they kicked James, then Hannah had it over the other three.
  8. The judges messed things up by sacrificing James for Ally. She was never going to win so it was unfortunate that they forced her into the final. I'm totally fine with Hannah winning. I would've been happy with a Kel win, too. Both of them were the best dancers of the four left and frankly Hannah edged out Kel by a little bit. I loved loved loved Kel's freestyle. I watched it three times. But Hannah's was great, too, and totally unexpected from her so again. . . fine with her win.
  9. There was absolutely no reason for Gabby to come back except as table setting for the inevitable Gabby/Casey/Sylvie love triangle. In fact, let me make a prediction. It's November now. Come May sweeps, Casey and Sylvie will have had enough time to start hanging out together, realize they have feelings for each other, try desperately to deny said feelings, and then finally, finally give in to their passion and make sweet, sweet love to each other. The very next morning, while basking in the afterglow there will be a knock on the door. Casey will be in the other room making breakfast or having a poo or whatever and ask Sylvie if she could please get that. Sylvie will go skipping to the door clad in nothing but a t-shirt (Casey's CFD tee, natch) and fling it open mid-giggle to find -- GASP -- a six-months-pregnant Gabby standing on the other side. Cue Casey walking into the room, all their mouths agape in shock and horror and then. . . scene, fade to black, see you in the fall. This show really tries my patience. 🙄
  10. There are snakes in the wall!! 😂😂😂 I mean, god, if that isn't the best reason not to have kids, I don't know what is. 😂
  11. That's on production. They could have rearranged things so that his package was a bit more isolated from any of the others'. Different people go through different things. It's not our place to judge who has it harder than someone else and production forced the audience to make that comparison by placing her package (likely long filmed before what happened to James and his wife) straight after his. I felt sorry for her actually because I knew there would be people out there thinking she's an asshole because what she went through is not on the same level as what he's going through. I watch the Bachelor franchise and I came out of her season actively disliking Hannah. But if I'm going to bray about people ignoring Spicer's dance (in)ability and continuing to vote for him, I'm certainly not going to withhold my vote for Hannah and her *actual* dance ability just because I might find her personally not to my liking.
  12. Guys, what the fuck just happened here? I'm stunned. No way should Ally be there over James. And I in no way, shape, or form am laying any blame at Ally's feet. She did exactly what she was supposed to do, dance the very best that she could and leave it all out there. My ire is aimed squarely at the judges. To sit there and say that you're looking at the totality of the season and then say you're choosing Ally instead of James? That is the epitome of horseshit. James has consistently outperformed Ally (and frankly pretty much all of them) this entire season. I'm absolutely gobsmacked. I'm fine with the rest of them making the finals, barring perhaps Lauren and that's only because she really hasn't resonated with me at all the entire season. But I can honestly say I don't really give a shit who wins now because as far as I'm concerned they stole it from the person who should have gone all the way. I have to say though, I really appreciated that Ally tried to give her spot to James. That was incredibly sweet of her, and I do believe she was genuinely regretful that the judges picked her over him.
  13. Yes, he was. I saw him deplaning with his owner after Bell opened the door. Trust me, my eyes were peeled. 😊
  14. All of this. I 💓 Tripp so very much.
  15. I'm pretty sure this was a typo but speaking as a former Catholic school student who was taught by nuns, that made me burst out laughing. 😂
  16. I love the twins. And Mei Lin's sparkly rainbow dress was to die for. Perfect for her theme. 💓🧡💛💚💚💜
  17. LOL, okay, I'll give you that one. I'm going to chalk it up to new-show-growing-pains. At least they tried to rectify it with that rematch (even though yes, I know we all know that was BS, too). 😊
  18. Last week I was angry and this week I'm just really sad. My friend and I were talking about it and we both said that in seasons past, we haven't always agreed with who made the top three but the show/viewers have always picked the best of that three to win. Then last season happened. And now this season is happening. I wasn't one of those people who said I was never going to watch again when Bobby Bones won. But if Sean wins this season, I don't know that I can ever look at the show as my nice happy place anymore. And if I can't do that, how can I watch it again? This may be premature but I'm feeling a real sense of loss here. 😢 On a more episode-specific note, I really loved James's dance and I normally side-eye contemporary hard. It was beautiful. And Ally's paso was great. I was crazy about her skirt work during that percussion section in the middle. Poor Lauren really messed up tonight but I think she can get past it and do better next week. I was impressed with Hannah's salsa during the dance-off, especially considering she hadn't done it before. Kel was so much fun to watch, he's improving every week. And I'm so sad to see Kate go. I don't think she could've gone much further than next week but it's a travesty that Sean is still here and she isn't.
  19. This episode cracked me up. Rio weeping after Mike scared her with the eyeball made me laugh so hard, and I loved that the way she decided to scare Mike was by poking at his deep-seated fears. His reaction when her face blended into her mother's face in the video was perfection.
  20. When they called Sean's name, my rage-scream was so loud and sustained that Mr. Lily, who was watching TV upstairs, ran down in a fright because he thought something actually happened to me. 😂 I didn't see the slip-up they pointed out in James's dance either but I don't know that I would've cared because the rest of it was amazing. I did see Lauren's slip but I was impressed at how well she managed to recover from it. I don't understand why they gave Kel such high marks; his dance was nowhere near all 9s. I hate the rumba but I thought Kate did a lovely job and I am again so dazzled by Pasha and his choreography. I'm sad that Karamo left tonight because I really think he's starting to hit his stride but I'm glad that Kate was saved. I don't really understand why they were so harsh with Hannah, especially considering she did a jazz number. They're usually so generous with jazz and contemporary, and I don't think that she did so much worse than anyone else. Ally was. . . there, I guess. Something about her doesn't really resonate with me but I'd still rather she be there than Sean. Casting really fucked up by putting him on this season. Count me in with all the others praising hair, makeup, and costuming. Everyone looked amazing tonight!
  21. Same here. I thought they matched her gold earrings. They matched her green earrings. 😊
  22. I don't know that it's necessarily the voting system that's the problem. I think they need to be a bit more discerning about who they cast. It seems to me that the whole "Stars" bit of Dancing With the Stars has always been a bit tongue-in-cheek. They know they're casting C- and D-list celebrities, so maybe stay away from politicians and politician-adjacent people (especially polarizing ones) as well as people who have a huge fan base specific to them or have an especially large reach. In other words, don't cast a Sean Spicer or a Bobby Bones because it'll never matter how poorly they do, their supporters will vote for them, which means they'll never get to the bottom two where the judges can get rid of them. Cast people who have been out of the limelight for a while, or who aren't the "favorite" people in their groups. Maybe then the cast will be on slightly more equal footing in terms of fan bases. Because as soon as I heard they cast Sean Spicer, I knew this a-hole would be going far as long as he actually showed up to dance on Mondays. And shoot, maybe not even then.
  23. I thought it was adorable how eager Trip was to play the "Who Wore It Best?" game with Anna Kat. He was rocking those daisy earrings! I love him. I loved him on Psych and was crazy about him in Galavant. I'm thrilled to see more of him, especially since his stroke.
  24. I find it interesting that so many people are assuming that Sailor crying somehow means she's led some charmed life surrounded by yes-men until now. I took it as a young, 21-year-old girl upset and embarrassed that not only was she getting kicked off a show where she was self-conscious about her skills in the first place, but it was happening on live TV in front of millions *and* it was happening because two people deliberately picked someone else over her. Know what I mean? I think it may have been easier to cope if it was just presented as "you didn't get enough votes" as opposed to "sorry but we just liked her more than you." Which, I'm not even saying that's how the judges feel but at 21 I was insecure enough that that's how I would've interpreted it. Hell, at twice that age I'd *still* have to give myself a quiet talking-to if I wanted to avoid slipping down that self-destructive rabbit hole. I'm a hard yay except in a different color. Then again, I'm a sucker for a sequin. Must be why I can't quit this show. 😉
  25. The poor little thing. I cried along with her. As soon as they called Sean safe, I wasn't going to be happy with whoever got sent home but that was really hard to watch. I have to give props to Val. He really seemed to want to get her off the stage so she could have some privacy, and you could hear him telling her how great she was when he was holding her. Gosh, that was hard. On a positive note, Kate and James did so well. I was thrilled for them. And I loved Karamo and Kel, they're really improving. I wish the voters who are voting for Sean would just. . . stop.
