  1. As soon as John Cameron's name came up as the targeted bad guy, I had the feeling that Martin was Cameron. So Martin was an undercover MI6 agent, using the Cameron legend and planted within the evil Verlax organization. Part of me was hoping that Sonya would die, but I guess they need someone to watch over Aiden. Although I'm not optimistic, I hope the show returns for a second season so that we can see how Martin gets out of this mess and uncovers his real identity.
  2. Never underestimate the hubris and ego of Hollywood producers.
  3. In addition to Arrow, I'm enjoying all of the TV superhero shows. I thought The Flash and Gotham were really good, and that Agents of SHIELD has improved markedly from last year and is now interesting.
  4. If Barry and Felicity kiss a few episodes down the road, I think that's understandable. Barry woke up from a coma and found out his longstanding crush, Iris, is dating the new cop (see Flash premiere). Felicity was all hopeful about starting a relationship with her longstanding crush, Oliver, and he just rejected her. It makes sense that the two of them might see if there were any sparks. My guess is that they'll kiss and realize it isn't enough to replace the people they really love.
  5. So much to say, so please bear with me... The Good - Team Arrow working together like a well-oiled mechanism to take down the bad guys, with help from Captain Lance, was just a thing of beauty. - Oliver's awkwardly asking Felicity out on a date and then the beginning of the date itself - his recollection of their first meeting (the red pen -sigh), and his beginning to open up about his return to Starling City and his time away in Hong Kong - was so touching and promising. Oliver showed real warmth and wasn't being his usual repressed self. - Diggle's new baby girl is just so adorable. Oliver's handmade arrowheads gift for Digglet was also adorable. - That scene between Oliver and Felicity in the hospital was beautifully acted by both of them. Oliver's line to Felicity - "don't ask me to say I don't love you" - right before he kissed her, was especially poignant and heartbreaking. I could feel for both of them. - I actually liked the scenes between Felicity and Ray Palmer. I especially liked Felicity's getting back at Ray by hacking into all of his electronic devices. However, I don't see that much-hyped romantic chemistry between them. I can see Ray going after Felicity, but I don't see her reciprocating... unless she plays along to help out Oliver. - A small part of me likes that Felicity is still the only woman Oliver's ever loved (romantically) that he hasn't slept with... yet. It makes her special. The Bad - Oliver's belief that he can't have a personal life because it would cause him to lose focus is just wrong. He missed the tracer because he got complacent after five months of smooth sailing, not because of any personal relationship. However, I think we'll find out that he did some pretty bad things when he was in Hong Kong, which causes him to feel guilt. He likely planned to stay on the island forever to atone for his sins, but gave in and decided to go home. He's eager to punish himself because he probably feels he doesn't deserve happiness. That would explain why he seems so willing to deny himself any personal life. Felicity isn't - and shouldn't be - willing to be dangled along and to base her hope for a future relationship with Oliver on 'maybes'. The given reason for Oliver's breaking up with Felicity before they even get together just seems like a plot contrivance by the EPs. - I found it hard to believe that Roy has gotten so good already, both in fighting and in shooting arrows. It took Oliver 5 years, but it only took Roy 5 months?! (I hope that's not a precursor to another character's quick journey to hero-hood.) - I still have trouble seeing sincerity when Laurel is being nice. (I think it's KC's acting.) When Laurel engaged in light banter with Oliver ("you catch 'em, I cook 'em. Oh, was I being too loud?"), it came across as forced. When Laurel told Sara "love you", it came across as fake. When Laurel was wailing over Sara's body, I didn't believe her grief. Incidentally, I found Laurel's smiling "League of Assassins vacation days" quip to Sara just as off-putting as her being happy when Sara left to rejoin the League. - The Barry Allen cameo. After the phone call, Oliver takes the time to change into his Arrow costume before meeting Barry on the roof (see Flash premiere). Why bother? Barry knows Oliver is the Arrow. The Ugly - Sara dies. I guess we saw that coming, but just not so soon. Sara's timely return just in time to help Oliver fight the bad guys, and her heart-to-heart scene with Laurel ("Dinah Laurel Lance, always trying to save the world" - gag!), right before she's killed and lands conveniently at Laurel's feet, just seems super contrived. In any event, I'll miss seeing the wonderful Caity Lotz as both Sara and the Canary (flashbacks don't count and are just rubbing salt in the wound). - We're never going to be rid of Laurel. Well, now we know why KC was grinning like a loon during the jacket hand-off scene at the end of last season. She was probably already told by the EPs that Sara was going to die and that Laurel was going to take over as the BC. I wouldn't be surprised if the Season 4 poster showed Laurel in full costume. I also wouldn't be surprised if Laurel and Oliver got back together again in Season 5. After all, two years is enough time for fans to forget about the sister-swapping, right? (Yes, that's sarcasm.) - I'm betting the EPs think the unhappy fans will forgive Sara's death once they see Laurel fighting in BC costume. Questions - Sara was shot with three arrows, just like Oliver killed the first Count. Do you think someone is framing Oliver for Sara's death? - Was the Arrowcave still the foundry underneath Verdant, or did they set up in Oliver's second lair? - Hasn't Oliver gotten a job in the five months that passed, and how is he supporting himself? - I wonder how much is left of Diggle's and Felicity's $1M severance gifts from last year? - Is the new Count dead or just wounded? If dead, what happened to Oliver's 'no kill' policy? - Is Felicity intentionally working at the Buy More in order to have more time for her real Arrow work? When Ray asked her if she was looking for a job more suited to her skills, she said something like "sadly, no" - which sounds like she's only open to flexible shift work or, if Oliver had gotten QC back, her old cover job as his EA there. P.S. - Regarding Oliver's revelation that Felicity was the first person he met after he returned to Starling City that didn't feel like a threat or target to him, some might take issue with this, saying that Moira, Walter, Thea, Tommy, Laurel or Diggle should be this person. Here's my interpretation, by threat or target, he didn't just mean physical threat. I think he meant that Felicity was the first person he could just be himself (his new self) with and not have to hide. With his family and friends, they were a threat because they could discover his vigilante identity. They also only knew him from before the island and would have expectations about him returning to that pre-island self. He had to adopt his pre-island persona, even though that was not him any longer, and pretend (wear a mask) with them. Diggle was originally assigned to him as a bodyguard and Oliver considered him an obstacle to avoid. But Felicity did not know him from before, and would only know as much of him now as Oliver chose to reveal to her. There was no history, no emotional baggage, no expectations. They were meeting fresh and new, plus she was an innocent person. - If ratings drop going forward, I think it'll be because of Sara's death and Laurel's journey toward becoming the BC. (However, some fans will probably say it's because of too much Olicity.) - I'm trying to be philosophical about what happens on Arrow going forward, and about the difference between what the EPs want to happen and what I want to happen. If I ever stop enjoying the show, then I'll just stop watching. I don't feel any obligation to continue watching just because some might say a "true fan" would support the show no matter what. I figure it's a two-way street. CORRECTION: Oliver said "don't ask me to say I don't love you" after he kissed Felicity,

  8. Arrow in costume, and arrows in bad guys, Diggle with wisdom and wisecracks and Lyla, Tilted head look on a blonde IT girl - These are a few of my favorite things. Dum, dum. Dum, dum. Dum, dum. Kick-ass Canary, and stalwart Detective, Mother of mothers, and little sis Thea, Felicity Smoak, that smart bitch with wifi - These are a few of my favorite things. Dum, dum. Dum, dum. Dum, dum. Oliver fighting, and Oliver smiling, Malcolm and Deathstroke. and Ra's al Ghul coming, Team Arrow working together as one - These are a few of my favorite things.... When my job sucks, when the show sucks, When I'm feeling mad, I simply remember my favorite things, And then I don't feel so bad!
  9. The show has done a pretty crappy job of showing that Oliver and Laurel were best friends. Pre-island Oliver was a shallow, selfish douchebag who cheated on Laurel multiple times, while pre-island Laurel built this fantasy future for them as a married couple and either ignored or was willfully blind to her boyfriend's weaknesses. The foundation for their 'friendship' was built on lies. I can believe that Oliver and Tommy were best friends, but not Oliver and Laurel.
  10. Actually, I don't think 'Emmy-winning' means that much anymore - considering who has won, who has lost and who has not even been nominated for Emmys.
  11. I realize that, after 6 seasons, the producers are probably running out of ideas, but I can't help feeling that this Castle amnesia mystery is going to end up being a 'jump the shark' moment. So Castle was run off the road on the way to his wedding by someone tied to something that happened when he was a child. (I don't think that part was set up by him - he looked too surprised.) That someone convinced him that he had to disappear and take care of something right away. Then he apparently chose to have his memory wiped, probably right after he made those memory discs for Beckett and his family. If he doesn't want to remember, then he must believe that remembering will somehow threaten his relationship with Beckett or his family or his life.
  12. I enjoyed this episode overall. More details on the Mills sisters' relationship and their mother. Ambiguous Reyes. Insidious Henry Parrish. Minimal Katrina. Continued mutual support between Ichabod and Abby. Their friendship and partnership remains one of the most appealing things about this show. They respect each other, but they also challenge each other. I hope the show doesn't change that. Not sure about Nick Hawley yet - however, I did enjoy seeing Hawley's WTF faces when he was listening to Ichabod talk about past events in the present tense. I also liked how Abby and Jenny kicked ass, and how Ichabod cleverly figured out a way to talk to Frank. The only thing I really didn't like is how Ichabod and Abby seemed to be okay with Hawley keeping such a dangerous silver coin.
  13. Ben Mackenzie continues to impress as Gordon. His complicated partnership with Bullock, and how each subtly influences the other, remains one of the most interesting things about the show. I hope that continues to develop. I'm still meh on Barbara Kean and her subplot with Renee Montoya. I didn't read the comics and just think the Montoya and Allen characters are pointless and could be eliminated with no effect. I wish the show hadn't introduced Barbara as Gordon's fiance, but had her meeting Gordon several episodes down the road and then have their relationship slowly build over the course of the season. If we saw Barbara as an independent character with her own life first, it would make her more interesting. Right now, I see little chemistry between them and don't get why they're even together. Oswald is still great, while Fish Mooney remains a bit too over-the-top. I continue to like the scenes between young Bruce and Alfred that lay the foundation for future mythology.
  14. I'm not a huge fan of TV shows allowing people who murder to get away with it, through the trope of a redemption arc (OUAT isn't the only culprit in this regard), because in real life there are and should be consequences. However, the OUAT producers apparently believe that villains can be redeemed so that the popular characters can remain on the show. So here's my take on Regina. She was starting to believe that she could be redeemed and that 'vilains' could get a happy ending, and not just the good guys - contrary to what the fairy tale book said. So when she changed her evil ways, mostly through her love for her son Henry, and helped the good guys - even being willing to sacrifice her life for them, she was rewarded - or so she thought - with a happy ending by finding her second true love, Robin Hood. Marian's return and Robin's decision to honor his marriage vows turned that belief upside down. Regina was grieving for the loss of any hope for a happy future. She was looking down the road and seeing only loneliness and unhappiness. After all, what are the chances of there being a third true love out there for her? Now, she wants to change the fairy tale book to allow villains to have happy endings; otherwise, if there's no hope for her, then there's no point in her trying to be good.
  15. I really liked this episode overall, mostly for the Elsa and Emma scenes. While I have to suspend credibility that Elsa doesn't have enough control to tunnel out of her own ice cave (considering she can build an intricately designed ice castle and her own blue dress out of snow and ice), I do like her bonding with Emma over their respective power problems. Anna is really starting to grate on me. The things I didn't like - the whole subplot with Anna and David (she teaches him to fght with a sword in one day, so that he can easily defeat two trained guards and one Bo Peep), that everyone seems to end up tied to Rumple in some way, and the sudden appearance of the Snow Queen who apparently has been hiding in Storybrooke this whole time, unbeknownst to everyone. Also, David knew Kristof enough to be invited to his wedding, but never knew Arendelle was ruled by a Queen with power over ice and snow? Although I look forward to the evil Snow Queen storyline, I was disappointed to see who was playing her. Elizabeth Mitchell had major roles on Lost, V and Revolution - and she acted exactly the same in every single role. She seems to have one facial expression - stoic - and no acting nuances. Sorry to be harsh, but that's my impression. Maybe she'll surprise me on OUAT. But why couldn't they have cast someone else, like Susanna Thompson? I'm confused by David's parentage. David and James were twins separated at birth, and one became a Prince and the other became a shepherd. So who was their real father - the King or Ruth's husband? And which was the alcoholic - the real father or the adoptive father? Considering how old Jared Gilmore looks and sounds now, it just sounded kinda ridiculous when Emma tried to play the "Operation" game with Henry. I wouldn't be surprised if Anna was magically trapped somewhere by Rumple when she went to see him.
  16. Agents of SHIELD - Season 2 - Various cast interviews Posted by Klutzy_girl at Sunday, October 05, 2014 http://www.spoilertv.com/2014/10/agents-of-shield-season-2-various-cast.html
  17. I though this episode was boring and again it was the Clara show, with the Doctor as a supporting character. Clara was annoying, Courtney was annoying, and the Doctor was unlikeable. As others have said, the hard choice should not have been a hard choice at all (millions of babies on earth versus the moon baby), and then the magical solution. The Doctor has had no problem in the past in persuading humans to do what he wants or what he thinks is best, or in making decisions for others, so him stepping back this time to leave the choice up to three humans (including one child), when the wrong choice could have disastrous results, just seems off to me. Also, Clara's broadcast appeal would only have been understood by English-speaking humans on Earth (unless I missed a line about a universal translator) - so she was essentially leaving it up to a limited section of humanity to make the choice for all of humanity. Again, get rid of Clara, Courtney and Danny - and bring in Psi and Saber (from the "Time Heist" episode) or someone else as the new companions, plus do something to make the Doctor more likeable. He doesn't have to be a charming guy, but there has to be something appealing about him that attracts companions and strangers alike to follow him.
  18. KC's comments about Tommy taking advantage of Laurel disturb me. Tommy loved Laurel and I'm betting Laurel knew it. Laurel did not love Tommy (at least it didn't appear that way to me). So if anyone was being used, it was Tommy. Also, Laurel did not lose her mother at a young age. Her parents divorced. Her mother did not die, but moved to a nearby city. If her mother completely abandoned her daughters, then there should've been more tension and hostility in the episodes in which her mother appeared. So I'm assuming they kept in touch and perhaps visited with each other over the years. Laurel as angelic, pure and honest is kind of a joke, considering what we've learned about Laurel over the past two seasons - from her early manipulations regarding Sara and Oliver not meeting, to her treatment of Tommy, to her treatment of Sara and Oliver upon their return from the dead, to her actions vis-a-vis getting her job back - not to mention her "do you know who I am" comment to the traffic cop when she was stopped for DUI. Personally, I'm skeptical of method acting, esp. when taken to extremes (Shia LaBeouf). I've watched Inside the Actor's Studio and heard many actors say the same thing about creating a back story, etc. Some Oscar winners are method actors, other Oscar winners are not. I believe there are Oscar winners who never went to acting school (Jodie Foster, Ben Kingsley). I think some people are just naturally better actors than others, although training helps a great deal.

  20. The EPs can come up with and the writers can write the best scenes in the world to build a Laurel and Felicity friendship, but it will depend on the actors' execution of those scenes to make it believable. Will the line readings come across as sincere and heartfelt, or fake and calculated? I'm not optimistic based on KC's portrayal of Laurel over the past two seasons.
  21. Thanks for all the spoilers. I guess you really can't have enough spoilers. I really hope (like others here) that Diggle is not taking a backseat to Roy and that his placement on the Season 3 poster is not indicative of his prominence this season. I love the original Team Arrow trio. My guess is that she finds a legal loophole that allows Oliver to keep some of the QC assets (like the foundry and/or Verdant). That would be consistent with the EPs' agenda (if there is one) to make Laurel likeable and relevant this season.

Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham by Sam Stewart on October 01, 2014 at 04:59 PM http://www.gameinformer.com/games/lego_batman_3_beyond_gotham/b/playstation4/archive/2014/10/01/kevin-smith-and-arrow-s-stephen-amell-join-lego-batman-3-cast.aspx
  23. Despite the appeal of Sean Bean, I have to admit I'm losing interest in this show. But since it's almost over, I'm going to stick it out through the final two episodes next week. I really hope he gets a good project next.
  24. I agree with Kini's win this week. I agree with Korina's elimination based on that one-hour challenge. When Korina was eliminated, I wanted to break out in song - "ding, dong, the witch is dead". She has got to be one of the most self-centered, self-deluded designers ever to appear on PR. I haven't been a fan of Char's designs and think she's lucky to be still competing, but I commend her for acting respectful and professional in front of the judges, and holding back her tearful breakdown until she was back in the designers' room. In contrast, Korina was disrespectful and unprofessional in front of the judges, rolling her eyes and crying because oh, it's so unfair that she had to do another challenge against a designer who's so inferior to her! She spent that one-hour challenge being resentful and angry that the judges didn't just recognize how much better she was than Char and eliminate Char straightaway. I'm rooting for either Sean or Kini to win.
