If anything, season 4 could be worse since the EPs' attention will be even more divided among Arrow, Flash, the spin-off, and even Supergirl.

I have a feeling the EPs miscalculated fan reaction to the Atom electrocuting Roy scene. They maybe expected fans to be excited about this 'cool' Iron Man-like weapon, but instead, due to their fuck-up, we're focused on poor Roy.

It irks me when people (like reviewers) say that it was a mistake for the show to turn Oliver & Felicity's relationship romantic and that they should just stay flirty friends, especially when they refer to it as a toxic relationship. No, a toxic relationship is when two people are a couple with the guy constantly cheating on the side with other women (like his girlfriend's sister) and the gal turning a blind eye while fantasizing about marriage. As the first two seasons and the season 2.5 comics show, Oliver and Felicity have a trusting, respectful, mutually supportive and, most significantly, honest relationship. If not for the contrived reasons needed for the EPs' season 3 plot goals, they could have a great romantic relationship. Instead, we have artificial separations, an unbelievable new romance with Ray (imo), and OOC writing - all leading to unwatchable drama. There's really no reason for these two people not to be together. However, if the EPs do put them together, I dread that as well because then they'll just come up with artificial reasons to separate them. Alternatively, I wouldn't be surprised at this point if they never put Oliver and Felicity together romantically (justifying it by saying, 'see, we tried to make them romantic in season 3 and it just proved toxic').

I'm butter that this show doesn't seem to be getting better and that I'm just getting more "butter" as I watch it. Honestly, at this point, I don't why I botter. ETA: Butter! Dry Toast for you!

The EPs (esp. MG) and writers got so excited about showing off the Atom's fancy electrocuting hand feature that they failed to consider a lot of things (like consistent character behavior): Oliver's leaving Roy unconscious on the ground there. The hypocrisy of Ray trying to kill Roy and then condemning Oliver for killing people. How Felicity should feel about a man who tried to kill her friend.

Contrary to what two reviewers have said, the problem with the Oliver & Felicity relationship this season is not that the relationship has turned romantic but that the EPs had to come up with artificial plot contrivances to separate two people who were naturally gravitating towards each other, which in turn created unnecessary drama.

Not necessarily. Ray knowing that Felicity has feelings for Oliver doesn't mean that he knows Oliver reciprocated or that they did anything about it. Season 2 Felicity had feelings for Oliver but they were just friends.

Girl-on-ComicBook-World thinks the problems with season 3 are twofold: (1) too much focus on Olicity, and (2) an unfocused season. While I agree with the second, I disagree with the first with respect to the reasons she states. I think the unnecessary 'soap opera' drama is due to the ridiculous plot contrivances used to keep O. & F. apart and just bad, OOC writing. But really the second reason overwhelms everything else... I think the dialogue tease ("You were more than 'just friends.' I saw it in your eyes.") is Ray to Felicity, during that scene where he's in his hospital bed and Felicity is sitting by his bedside looking like they're having a serious conversation.
