Married At First Sight (UK) - General Discussion
LennieBriscoe replied to essexjan's topic in Married At First Sight (UK)
I'm baaaaack! And so is MAFSUK SEASON 9! I'm watching on YouTube on my Smart TV! Better than on a cellphone! -
Tell me you know Olympian Stevie Pommel Horse!

Timber is the quintessential "make lemonade out of lemons" guy. But I thought for sure there he was going to make the call. I get nervous when these competitors go ice-fishing. I don't trust the ice!
-
Timber has (chosen) the dopiest name, but he is a wizard at this stuff. I'm rooting for him(ber). I think this season is among the best/most interesting.

WWHL Current Season Discussion
LennieBriscoe replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Watch What Happens Live
My assumption when I post in these threads is that other posters have seen the episode under discussion. So no, I'm not going to elaborate except to say that the show needed extensive bleeping because of Adam's latest song. -

June 2024: Adam Lambert has lost his damn mind. And this once-devoted fan. 😞 -

I adore Martin Short. -
I liked only the young man who "turned into" an entire troupe of dancers, a most attention-grabbing act!

If you can't watch Season 2 from the Australian channel, it's just begun showing here, right after the US "Alone." Same channel.

The Golden Bachelor - General Discussion

Sounds like Gerry (Indiana!) wants an FWB. And I trust he realizes that many of those DM dames see him as a meal ticket and/or a way to fame of a sort. After all, Joan is certainly parlaying her GB stint to further media exposure. And marry or not with this second grab at the gold ring, two Reality shows can begin a whole new career for her! -

I thought McKinnon's Restaurant guy was a shoo-in! That kneeling proposal got me. I'm a proud Boomer, but I'm rooting for this Gen Xer! -
Woman actually says aloud that Egypt probably wasn't on the Suez Canal because it's desert. Chooses Morocco. WTH.

And there, mes amis, we have observed the brutal visual of one's being "hoist on his own petard." 😯😈 Sassy Cat: "It's a heavy, still, and forlorn feeling that permeates the air...." I'm stealing that for the opening sentence of my next (well, only) novel! 👏👏👏
-
🙋 Mes Amis! I am in agreement with your sentiments that this is the REAL "Survivor," as it were! And though I like the Oz version, they don't face grizzlies, wolves, and moose in Arctic temperatures! Every season I am amazed anew at how many North Americans grow up and live, even thrive, in such wilderness ways. I wish I had learned even a tenth of their skills (Constructing a dwelling of branches and moss, complete with a stone chimney?! Weaving a fishing net?!) and knowledge (of edible plants, animal tracking, etc.) . I've never even fished! And archery was only a class in high school! That is what I value most of this series: to actually see the talents and craftsmanship applied to completely new and extremely challenging circumstances. From my couch. In my house. 😆

School custodian was very good, not Steve Perry level. I thought the Nigerian comic was just okay. The two dogs were boring. Ballet-on-Bottles was way too flawed. In general, I don't care for little kids, choral groups, or body contortionists/balancers.

From the above linked article: "Academic rigor" and "Pop culture." Yeah, no.
-
And you'll notice Ken was NOT HAPPY about his "correction"'s being corrected, as he then "got back at" Yogesh with "Salt-N-Pepa, much like EEverest," all in good humor, of course. Heh.

In what world is Anthony superior to Easton?
-
Proud to say I figured out "antimony"!
-
I haven't watched for a while now so I could be under a misapprehension, but I feel like the show's initials should be SYTYCDC, the last letter's being for "Contemporary." Still standing by my Easton prediction.

I'm rooting for Jack and his Deadpan Country style (with a little sidetrip to Outer Space).
