Most of the times it is cheating because of lack of time but in this case it was an actual design choice to minimize the bulking gained with layering. Designers do this type of thing all the time with sweaters. He specifically chose the fabric and chose an appropriate way to hold the leggings in place. I thought it was a fantastic idea and could see that idea being a huge seller.

Its only important for the first off the bench trouper. Most of the recent seasons have had at least one pro be injured bad enough to miss significant practice time and even shows. Being pulled from the troup to fill in gained Sasha his time as a pro and has now elevated Alan to that position. Obviously, this season the top replacements will be Sasha and Jenna.

Barbara was awful...both in her dancing and her way way over the top harrassment of Keo. I felt bad for him. If it had been a male celebrity doing that to a female pro I think we would have seen a mysterious early injury resulting in a new celeb being cast. Terrell didn't deserve that low of a score but he also fit the bill of the first dancer on the floor. No strong enough to challenge the top dancers but does well enough and has enough of a name to survive being low balled on his score. That then allows them to score the top dancers higher but within the norms of week 1 scoring.

I guess believing a 40 something year old guy giving up a medical career to be a firefighter is as believable as a 34 year old having enough career achievements to be head of cardio thoracic surgery.

Funny thing, with the exception of the twins, everyone has been likeable so far which is rare for this show. They seem to like and support each other. No one is acting over the top crazy. So I guess the twins got thrown in for the drama. They just have to stay better than 1 person each week.

Barbara Corcoran dancing salsa to Ludacris is hard to picture...if she can sell it she will be a star but unfortunately has disaster written all over it.

IMO, Danny Tidwell, Chehon, and Alex Wong had the best classical techniques among the men. Chehon won the competition, Alex would have won if he hadn't been injured, and Danny should have won but MIa Michaels disliked him and made it known.

If they are going to force the contestants to dance with the same all-star every week, it is not fair to the them not to have all-stars equally skilled in all styles. Far too much emphasis is on the old stars. BUt, I get that they did that for ratings...supposedly. I still prefer mixing it up so that each dancer gets an equal opportunity to do their best in all genres. I really got a rhumba vibe from Kiki and Jenna. I never felt like I was watching a contemporary. They did it well...but.... The ballroom folks need to go back and watch old tapes of the solos of Benji, Heidi, Dmitry, and Sasha. They did more than just shimmy around. Bring out the cape and do a paso or do a fast kicking jive or jitterbug. Pretend they are Fred or Ginger and bring out a foxtrot. Lex is so much better than Gabby. Cyrus is a great dancer but in this format does not belong. Have we ever so quite so much cross over from DWTS. 3 All-Stars, 1 dancer, multiple choregraphers

I'm thinking we might see Mike Greenberg of ESPN. He's in the ABC family already and his current show on ESPN is ending as they ramp up his new ESPN morning show. This would be a way to introduce him to a wider audience and transition him between his shows.
