  1. Did not like the cold open. Not happy that Trump comes off smarter on SNL than he is in his real-life ramblings. Also...the boring joke of Biden falling up the stairs was old last season. Several of the "jokes" in Weekend Update seemed unnecessarily hurtful including another dig at teachers. Overall, not a fan of the show last night. Timothee had a hard time finding his note in the beginning of "Pure Imagination" but seemed to improve at his next entrance.
  2. Beavers over Stanford 62-17. Hopes that College Game Day would visit Corvallis were dashed while Beavers were running over Stanford in the third quarter. Could ESPN be afraid they'd have to address the elephant on the field: their role in the demise of the Pac-12?
  3. I liked that Elizabeth finally stood up to the ridiculous station owner and that Mad has finally had a break through in her search for details about her father. The rest of the episode was very hard to watch.
  4. I’m starting to worry that an old Amazing Race “curse” is going to catch up with Corey and Rob. In the first few seasons, the most beloved team went out in fourth place: Kevin and Drew, Danny and Oswald, among others… Have they come in higher than fourth?
  5. I don’t know…but I wish DWTS would consider it.
  6. No sympathy for Alex Skarlatos from me. He tried to parlay his train heroics and Dancing with the Stars notoriety into a Congressional seat in my district. I wish they allowed the West coast to vote, too. I have a hard time voting for something I haven't seen. That's just a popularity contest. Would it be impossible to announce the eliminated dancer one week later (since they no longer have two shows a week)? Could they do a mini-recap at the beginning of the evening, announce the losing team, and as a swan song, have the eliminated team perform the dance they'd been rehearsing that week?
  7. It is interesting that the actor's departure was only announced recently. In the past, it seems we get news that an actor is leaving months ahead of their last week on the show.
  8. Maybe Dr. Rolf worked some off-stage magic on Stefan and took away his love for Gabi again.
  9. I've read that spoiler on another site. :(
  10. So Li had to die to give Gabi an exit scenario. That's too bad.
  11. Is anyone still rooting for Gabi and Stefan? The actors seem to be going out of their way to make them seem hateful. The writers are setting them up, too making them extra horrible the day after Li had those emotional scenes with Marlena that showcased his vulnerability. Using Rachel to set up Kristen made me sympathized with Kristen, and I never feel anything but irritation for that character. I wonder if Camilla Banus has been directed to act extra campy or if that's her choice. Brandon Barash is also playing up the smug. I can't help but hope both of them get their comeuppance.
  12. I bought full-sized Sour Skittles for my trick or treaters. I knew having left-over chocolate in the house was not a good idea, and kids love those sour Skittles. They don't tempt me at all. I had a few left over to share with my little niece when she visits next time. Candy/cookie related: Did anyone enjoy the original Nestle Pinwheel? Pinwheels had a dark chocolate exterior, marshmallow interior, with a cookie base. Delicious. I associate them with my dad, who loved them. I finally picked up a package a few years after my dad had passed away. As with so many good things, the good people at Nestle had changed the recipe and what was once delicious was cloyingly sweet. Very bittersweet.
  13. Really enjoyed Nancy’s cheerleading Dave’s Double Jeopardy bet.
  14. Although I respect your opinion, peeayebee, I still thought it wasn’t funny. It would have been more realistic if the teacher sat back down and started grading papers after being booed.
  15. Beg to differ. The Pacific Ocean off Oregon is spectacular. Although I enjoyed most of the skits and thought the host was funny, I did not appreciate the booing of teachers (or the “joke” about Meghan Markle). Maybe I missed something, but it seemed like a mean dig at a group of people who’ve had a challenging few years.
  16. So it looks like Li is the likely murder victim (if Wendy is plotting revenge).
  17. I don't have any trouble with 630 still being a part of the family in the flash-forward episodes. He might be ten at that point at most. My childhood pet, a brown poodle named Dino, lived to 16. I forgot all about the Mad fake-out in the book. I feel like I need to re-read the novel.
  18. As long as half the country can't conveniently vote live, voting will never be about who danced the best or improved the most. There's little chance someone can have a brilliant dance and improve their scores or even save themselves from elimination.
  19. Santino's jumpsuit for Kara was ridiculous. It was so tight, you could see the outline of her butt crack when she she turned around. I think the only reason he wasn't eliminated was because the guest judge thought Kara looked hot.
  20. Beavs win! A great game for the offense, especially starting QB, DJ Uiagalelei. Defense was playing strong in the first half even though penalties made the second half a little more nerve-wracking. Bye week will help Beavs get healthy.
  21. In the novel, Harriet is an older woman with grown children and an abusive husband. I remembered Harriet as Elizabeth's supportive neighbor, but I didn't remember the freeway storyline at all. I found this article outlining some of the changes from the book. Careful if you're avoiding spoilers. https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/tv/story/2023-10-13/lessons-in-chemistry-book-changes
  22. The scene with her college professor was horrible. I don’t remember how it was presented in the novel, but juxtaposing her fear of closed doors with the flashback made it even more powerful.
  23. Me, too. I couldn't resist watching the second episode immediately afterwards.
  24. I think she may have finally succumbed to the Days' actors use of fillers. It looks like they've settled a bit since her first appearance after she had them.
