  1. Week 42 1/5, no* YTD: 87/190 6*, 2MR*, 6A*, 2M* Saved by the telegraph! Instead of doughnuts (or in addition to), how about long johns?
  2. I covet the brooch Mary inherited from Violet. Simple and beautiful!
  3. I knew you all would have solutions I didn’t know about! Thanks! 🥰
  4. I sometimes wish we could interject emojis. I won't like a whole post, but will like a paragraph or two. I usually put a on it anyway. Sorry I couldn't make the image smaller!
  5. I see the sad emoji is back. Interesting new emojis to play with, though I probably won't experiment much, it's nice to have some choice.
  6. In real life, Lily Tomlin is about two years younger than Fonda, and that fits better with her character here. With the line, it was the nineties, it just doesn’t track for me. So I’ll handwave and just go with it.
  7. You have Huron in there twice. I knew mainframe, Thames, and afterbirth. My brain went to Nelson but didn’t get to Trafalgar in time. When my brother was in 6th grade, he had a crew cut and black-framed glasses and looked a lot like Bill Cullen.
  8. The final chase was close, but Buzzy pulled in front and won. The second woman was really good; I liked her.
  9. I looked it up (I use J-archive), and she had seven. of which two I knew. Jonathan Fisher, the other 10+ day champion for this season, had four FJ asterisks, of which I knew one. So my adjusted score would be: YTD: 86/185 6*, 1R*, 2MR*, 6A*, 1F*, 2M* Too many asterisks? I was using 10+ games as my threshold, but maybe I should increase it to 20. That would include Matt, Amy, and Mattea. So that would make the asterisks for me: YTD: 86/185 6*, 2MR*, 6A*, 2M*
  10. Week 41 2/5, no* YTD: 86/185 6*, 1R*, 6A*, 2M* Ryan has had 4 * Final Jeopardys. Of those, I answered one correctly. Therefore, I'm claiming one Ryan FJ asterisk, similar to what we did with Matt and Amy.
  11. Leavenworth is the only reason I knew Kansas. I grew up in Ottawa County, so Miami and Leavenworth in the clue could mean only Kansas! Friday's FJ took a bit of thought. I remembered news stories about him saying Omaha, so finally put it together. Also I remember Manning because before I knew the football Mannings, I was familiar with Danny Manning of University of Kansas basketball fame.
  12. I noticed he seemed to have a new shirt/sweater vest, too! So far I'm enjoying Ryan's run much more than I did the previous multi-day champion.
  13. Glad to see that. What was the reason for the fancy cake at their cottage? Our theatre had a special event with tea and macarons, hat and trivia contest. A full house and quite fun. Really enjoyed the movie.
  14. Who was Cassie and Lindor going after at the house with the interrupted cookout? Who was under the tarp? I was able to keep track of most of the show, but that has me puzzled. Hospital alarm, and no-one comes running? How long before Scarlett is caught and in danger? Hell, no! I despise Ren. If she's not a full fledged psycho/sociopath, she's pretty close to evil.
  15. I spent a couple of weeks for three summers picking cherries on our Kansas farm, and did notice many came in pairs. Cherries are still my favorite fruit. All my cherry jewelry have them in pairs.
  16. Week 40 4/5 YTD: 84/180 6*, 6A*, 2M* Much better than last week!
  17. I found this translation: http://chucklorre.com/?e=1429 "Thank you very much" Right click on Search image with google lens. There's a Translate option.
  18. I will miss this show. It still had stories to tell and deserved one more season. I liked Lois and Art's relationship. Loved Al and the various relationships he had with Riley, Hazel, and Lizzie.
  19. I follow DSC Photography on Facebook. Many wonderful photos of the Chincoteague ponies, the Refuge, etc. 39 Foals so far this year. https://www.facebook.com/dscphotoESV/photos/3101776043484355
  20. I read Misty of Chincoteague as a young girl. I dreamed for years of going to Chincoteague for Pony Penning. But as a girl from Kansas, I never really thought I'd get to go. Then came our move to Virginia twenty one years ago, and all of a sudden, it was possible! Since moving here, we've been to Pony Penning twice! And visited Chincoteague a number of times, most recently last June for my 70th birthday. It's going to be one of the things I miss when we move to Kansas later this year. I think I always pronounced it as Shin-co-teeg, even before I knew the pronunciation. Other places on the Eastern Shore perplexed me as to pronunciation. I told a friend we were taking the ferry to Tangier from Onancock. She corrected my pronunciation, but I don't remember what is correct fo Onancock!
  21. Taking Chincoteague to Small Talk.
  22. Me either, and I knew few of the correct pronunciations for that area & the Virginia peninsula.
  23. I got FJ, but it was a total guess. I knew yesterday’s also. Hope I haven’t jinxed myself!
  24. I was questioning the pronunciation of Camus, not Albert. I was concentrated on Camus and didn't notice Albert with the "t".
  25. How would Alex have done it? I didn’t hear a difference. Thinking how it was and corrected in Shawshank Redemption too.
